History repeating: Germany prepares to go to war against Russia

poland nato

We're all living in Amerika, it's wunderbar...
German media reports confirm Germany is changing its doctrine in a way that paves the way for war with Russia.

According to a report issued on June 6th in German Economic News (Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten, or DWN), the German government is preparing to go to war against Russia, and has in draft-form a Bundeswehr report declaring Russia to be an enemy nation. DWN says:
"The Russian secret services have apparently thoroughly studied the paper. In advance of the paper's publication, a harsh note of protest has been sent to Berlin: The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma, Alexei Puschkow, has posted the Twitter message: 'The decision of the German government declaring Russia to be an enemy shows Merkel's subservience to the Obama administration'."
Back on February 17th, DWN had reported that German Chancellor Merkel "will develop a new military doctrine" declaring, "The 'annexation' of Crimea by Russia is the basis for military action against Moscow." Apparently, that prior report will soon be fulfilled.

Russia smashes Al-Qaeda in Aleppo as Syrian Army races to Raqqa

Reports confirm resumption of Russian bombings near Aleppo as Syrian army conducts offensives against Daesh towards Raqqa, near Palmyra and towards Deir Ezzor.

As discussed just days ago, the Russian Aerospace Forces have resumed bombing around Aleppo.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov made it clear on Monday that Russia puts the entire blame for the renewed fighting in and around Aleppo on the US for its failure to implement the February agreement for the separation of the rebel forces the US calls "the moderates" from those of Jabhat Al-Nusra (ie. Al-Qaeda).

Leaked documents reveal concern of British police 'teaching Saudi torturers'

British police are teaching Saudi officers hi-tech crime detection techniques that could lead to the "torture and execution" of pro-democracy activists, a human rights charity claims.

Reprieve says a "scandalous" internal police document released under Freedom of Information laws shows Saudi personnel have been trained in detective work and high-tech forensics at England and Wales' College of Policing.

The report shows college bosses recognized there was a risk "the skills being trained are used to identify individuals who later go on to be tortured or subjected to other human rights abuses."

Anti-death penalty campaigners say the partnership, since 2009, had continued despite a brutal crackdown by the regime following the 2011 Arab Spring that led to the torture of dozens of young protesters who were sentenced to death.

One teenage demonstrator was among 47 people executed on a single day in January this year. In 2012, Ali al-Nimr, 17, was sentenced to death for attending non-violent protests and inviting friends with the use of his Blackberry.

UK Navy claims intercept of Russian submarine, Russia surprised UK needed NATO to find it

The submarine, which is believed to be the Kilo-class submarine Stary Oskol, was detected in the sea on Tuesday evening, The Guardian reported.

It is now being escorted by UK Royal Navy frigate HMS Kent and is expected to pass the Strait of Dover later on Wednesday.

"Locating this submarine was a combined effort with NATO allies and shadowing such units is routine activity for the Royal Navy. We continue to escort the submarine as it conducts its passage, providing a visible presence," Cmdr. Daniel Thomas, HMS Kent's commanding officer, said as quoted by the newspaper.

The Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday it would be "strange" if the UK navy failed to notice Russia's Stary Oskol submarine as it slowly traveled toward the Black Sea Fleet.

"The Russian Defense Ministry is surprised that joint UK-NATO efforts were required to discover a submarine traveling in a surfaced position at slow speed, accompanied by a tugboat. It would have been strange if the Royal Navy together with its NATO allies failed to notice the submarine, particularly considering the fact that our sailors have been greeted — according to an old tradition — by passing merchant vessels from different countries in the Barents, Norwegian and North seas over the past days," the ministry said in a statement.

Comment: Contrary to Article 44 of the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea, to which the UK and Russia are both party, the UK has engaged in extensive illegal harassment of this Russian naval submarine engaged in fully lawful transit of the Dover Strait.

A Russian naval vessel en route between the Baltic and Black Seas is fully and specifically entitled under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea Articles 37 and 38 to the right of passage through the strait. This is in addition to the general right of passage through the territorial sea at Article 17. The Russian navy was in full compliance with the provision at Article 20 that, while in territorial waters, the submarine must be on the surface and displaying its flag, and in compliance with Articles 29 to 32 on warships.

Not only does the Russian Navy have every right to sail through the Dover strait on passage, it has been exercising that right - along with many other navies - for over a hundred years. The decision of the British government now to employ military harassment and threat is not only illegal, it is a gross and entirely deliberate act of provocation designed to sour international relations and disturb the atmosphere of world peace.

ISIS taxing women for not wearing socks, men for trimming beards

Islamic State is notorious for being the richest terrorist group in the world. However, their loss of more and more territory, plus a drop in oil prices, has force it to take extreme measures. Brace yourself for the weirdest taxes in the world.

For instance, people have to cash in $100 if they leave their door open, and any Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) adherent has to pay $20 (per wrong answer) if he or she fails a random Sharia test, the Daily Mail reported, citing the IHS information and analysis company.

There are also separate taxes for men and women: the latter have to pay $25 if their cloak is too tight, or $30 for not wearing socks. Men who trim their beards also come under fire, forking out $50.

'If you boycott Israel, New York will boycott you': Governor Cuomo signs anti-BDS bill into law

Cuomo stands with israel

Governor Cuomo signs the executive order.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo feels strongly enough that Israel has been horribly bullied by the growing success of the BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanctions) movement, so he signed an executive order — quite likely unconstitutional in scope — in response.

Right before participating in last Sunday's Celebrate Israel parade, Cuomo tweeted:

"I am signing an Executive Order that says very clearly we are against the BDS movement. If you boycott Israel, New York will boycott you."

US Congress debates the funding of World War III

Defense Secretary Ashton Carter
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." — Albert Einstein

Defense Secretary Ashton Carter just went before a Senate Armed Services Committee to wrestle still more billions from the American war chest in support of Middle East regime change. The Barack Obama appointed head of America's military has presented a supposed comprehensive plan to defeat an enemy that Syria's Assad and Russia's air might have already crushed. The real purpose of Carter's appearance before the Senate last week was to further fund anti-Assad forces, and to further invest in America's military industrial businesses. United States policy in the Middle East is being unmasked, with inestimable sums of money fueling a perpetual war fire.

The fictitious war on terror America's leaders milk billions out of, is intended to go on in perpetuity. Worse still, the mission to draw Europe into the fray is intended to make our EU partners further dependent on US military prowess. Barack Obama intendeds to leave his predecessor with an unwinnable war, a war that will break the union of European states permanently. Here's that story.

Michel Chossudovsky: US-NATO war games target Russia only indirectly; main target is Middle East

anakonda

Anakonda 2016, NATO's large-scale military exercises underway in Poland, is meant to kill two birds with one stone - intimidate Russia, but more importantly help Washington to "wage wars" across the globe, particularly in the Middle East, Canadian economist and author Michel Chossudovsky told PressTV.

The war games, launched on Monday, will run until June 17.

The analyst, who heads the Centre for Research on Globalization, pointed out that they coincide with the 75th commemoration of Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union by the Nazi Germany that began on June 22, 1941.

Nevertheless, Chossudovsky maintained that Anakonda 2016, like other NATO drills, does not pose an immediate, particular military threat to Moscow, although the bloc's buildup is indeed a matter of grave concern.

While Anakonda 2016 is "taking place at Russia's doorstep, it does not imply that Russia is threatened at least in the immediate future," he noted.

Comment: The real threat is rarely the most obvious one, or the one focused on by the media. For example, the Aegis system really poses very little threat to Russia; the Russians have the means to successfully counter any such missile systems, either defensively or offensively. Moves like this are more posturing. They are lines in the sand - a sign that the U.S. Empire will not back down from its rabidly anti-Russian policy that wants to see Russia isolated and impotent.

Washington to Moscow: Please Mr Putin, stop bombing our little al-Nusra friends

jaish

Jaish al-Islam and Jaish al-Fatah prepare for their Black Friday offensive, which killed 270 civilians last week.
Washington again asks Russia not to bomb al-Nusra, formerly known as al-Qaeda.

Al-Nusra shows its appreciation by playing a leading role in the slaughter of 270 civilians in 24 hours...

The deception of the ceasefire in Syria has become crystal clear. It has been used by opposition forces, faced with defeat, to halt advances by the Syrian Arab Army-led coalition in order to regroup, rearm and launch fresh attacks, which we are seeing now. Washington has again asked Moscow not to conduct airstrikes against al-Nusra, fearing that members of the "moderate opposition" could also be hit, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reported.

On cue last Friday, illustrating how odious this proposal is, the forces opposed to Assad, al-Nusra prominent among them, killed 270 civilians in 24 hours of massive shelling across Syria.

The ceasefire has not been viewed by the opposition as a stepping stone to a full peace process. Rather, they have used it as a strategy for attempting to gain the upper hand over pro-government forces. There is no dedication to a peaceful solution to the war, just a cynical manipulation of a longed-for peace while re-arming with more powerful weapons and the supply of fighter reinforcements takes place in parallel. The government of Bashar al-Assad does not have a peace partner in Syria; they have adversaries who continue to be armed and supported by the US-led 'anti-ISIS' coalition.
