Plans to poison or kidnap Julian Assange from the Ecuadorian embassy were discussed between sources in US intelligence and a private security firm that spied extensively on the WikiLeaks co-founder, a court has been told.

Details of the alleged spying operation against Assange and anyone who visited him at the embassy were laid out on Wednesday at his extradition case, in evidence by a former employee of a Spanish security company, UC Global.

Microphones were concealed to monitor Assange's meetings with lawyers, his fingerprint was obtained from a glass and there was even a plot to obtain a nappy from a baby who had been brought on regular visits to the embassy, according to the witness, whose evidence took the form of a written statement.

The Libyan crisis is now at a crossroads

Libya map
© MENA news
The disastrous crisis in Libya, which either seems to die down or explode with combat operations, continues to alarm the world community and be a bane for North Africa. But recently, both the world community and the Libyans themselves have taken a number of measures that, if they are executed precisely, may lead to a more peaceful situation in this turbulent country.

Khalifa Haftar, the commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), stated that his troop units would allow oil production to resume after an eight-month blockade, and by virtue of that a committee would be formed to ensure that revenues are fairly distributed. However, Libya's National Oil Corporation, which controls its energy industry, announced that it would not waive force majeure in respect of exports until oilfield facilities are demilitarized. As is common knowledge, Libya is a country that is extremely rich in oil, and this dispute between warring factions involves controlling that wealth. It can be recalled how for many years Libya and many of its public institutions were split between the internationally recognized Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli and Khalifa Haftar's government (LNA) in the east. In Tripoli, Ahmed Maiteeq, who is the Deputy Prime Minister of the GNA, came out with an announcement immediately after Khalifa Haftar had spoken, confirming that "the decision was made" to resume oil production.

Russia could never discredit the US empire the way these guys just did

Presidential Debate September 29, 2020
Well.

Wow.

I mean, wow.

So in case you missed it, the first US presidential debate was everything the US empire deserves and a fair reflection of everything the US empire is.

If Vladimir Putin were every bit the election-meddling demon the Democrats say he is, and if he had unlimited time and unlimited resources to create the perfect ninety-minute propaganda video to discredit the US-led unipolar world order, he could not have designed one more effective than the performance that was just delivered by President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden with the help of moderator Chris Wallace.

CIA told Obama of claim Hillary conjured Trump-Russia scandal according to Director of National Intelligence

Hillary Clinton
Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Tuesday revealed a bombshell allegation that Hillary Clinton ordered "a campaign plan to stir up a scandal" by linking President Trump to Russia in 2016 — and that then-President Barack Obama knew about her possible role.

Ratcliffe disclosed the information in a letter published by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) just hours before Trump debates Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, who was vice president at the time.

Clinton's alleged July 2016 plot would tar Trump by "tying him to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and the Russians' hacking of the Democratic National Committee," Ratcliffe wrote Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Handwritten notes by then-CIA Director John Brennan, who now is a fiery anti-Trump commentator, say that Brennan briefed Obama on
"alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on July 26, 2016 of a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisors to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services."
The FBI opened its investigation of possible Trump-Russia collusion on July 31, 2016 — five days after Clinton allegedly hatched the plan.

Comment: Biden's offering the Logan Act to snare General Michael Flynn was the hinge piece for the false prosecution of Trump's former national security adviser. Hillary Clinton masterminded a diabolical game-changer still in play. It is astounding how many years it is taking for the justice system to gather and assess these crimes sans actionable reprimand or justice. The same can't be said for the false accusations and dogged persecution of General Flynn.

Trump-Biden debate put US democracy on display - we're now little more than the world's laughing stock armed with nukes

US President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in the first 2020 presidential campaign debate, September 29, 2020.
America and the rest of the world tuned in to watch the first of three televised presidential debates last night. What they got was an embarrassing partisan wrestling match that sowed the seeds of the US' ensuing self-destruction.

If the transcript of the debate between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden was submitted to Hollywood as part of a script exploring the state of American politics today, it would be rejected out of hand as unrealistic, incomprehensible and just simply poor writing. And yet, there it was, on full display for the entire world to see - American dysfunction.

It wasn't a debate as much as it was a petty airing of grievances by two men old enough to know better, but so vested in their own narcissistic belief that they alone hold the key to American peace and prosperity that they were blinded to the pathetic display in which they both equally partook.

Both Trump and Biden played to their respective base, with Trump doing so more effectively than his opponent. Trump's gaffe in failing to clearly condemn white supremacy, and in the process inadvertently providing the Proud Boys, a militant group that promotes white supremacy values, with a rallying cry in the form of his fumbled answer ("stand back, and stand by"), will not cost him any voters among his base. One cannot say the same about Biden's distancing himself from the Green New Deal.

Comment: So what is being proposed as a cure-all for the next rousing face-to-face? Bring on the Commission on Presidential Debates:

Trump repeatedly interrupted Biden challenging his premises as well as his factual claims. Biden responded by calling everything Trump said a lie and demanding the president "shut up."

Wallace's performance was widely panned in the aftermath, not just by cable news talking heads but also by the general public on social media, which accused the Fox News host of openly siding with Biden as he struggled to silence Trump.

Though the CPD offered no specifics on its intention going forward, its praise for Wallace and talk of "maintaining order" add up to the possibility the NGO could allow moderators of the remaining two debates to shut off Trump's microphone whenever they choose.

Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh criticized the commission for changing the rules agreed to by all parties for this year's three presidential debates and suggested that the move is motivated by concern over Biden's performance.

"They're only doing this because their guy got pummeled last night. President Trump was the dominant force, and now Joe Biden is trying to work the refs. They shouldn't be moving the goalposts and changing the rules in the middle of the game."

Profits for all, except the victims: MH17 shoot-down has been a money-maker for Dutch police, prosecutors and judges

The Dutch police have hired a professor called Maurice Punch to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. He tried; the Dutch police think he succeeded in a report called "Passionate Professionals: The Dutch Police Response to the Shooting Down of Malaysian Airlines' MH17 in the Ukraine." Punch concluded that to the Dutch police the MH17 disaster has been worth its weight in guilders, I mean gold.

The Dutch state budget for the police peaked in 2012 at €4.53 billion. With a policy of budget surplus and austerity, the government of Prime Minister Mark Rutte set about cutting state expenditures, including defence and security. The proportion of state spending in the Dutch gross national product was dropping. Then in July 2014, "the MH17 disaster came at a time of major change in the Dutch political landscape". According to Punch,
"[G]overnment ministries and related institutions were undergoing a process of restructuring accompanied by austerity measures. The Armed Forces, for instance, had been shrinking and had been forced to sell all off its tanks while on one occasion the Army had even run out of ammunition for exercises. Furthermore, the Dutch Police had just gone national in 2013 meaning that there was a single force for the whole country with one central headquarters and one Chief Commissioner in The Hague. This was a major restructuring operation and the reorganization was absorbing much time and energy."

Senate hearings in Washington have laid bare the failures of the FBI investigation, showing there was never any evidence of 'collusion', and it was all a campaign to 'get Trump'.

The US Senate Judiciary Committee questioned former FBI Director James Comey during a hearing this week over the recent Horowitz report. That report on the FBI's Trump-Russia probe laid out significant omissions in how the FBI handled its investigation.

Wednesday's hearing focused particularly on court warrants obtained by the FBI under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to spy on Trump campaign aide Carter Page, which Committee Chair Lindsey Graham characterized as "a stunning failure of the system."

Rittenhouse's lawyer threatens Biden with libel lawsuit over 'white supremacist' accusation

Creepy Joe goes after a 17-yo kid
The attorney for Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old accused of killing two people in Kenosha, Wisconsin, threatened to sue Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Wednesday after Biden released a video suggesting Rittenhouse is a "white supremacist."

Biden's video accused President Donald Trump of refusing to condemn white supremacists and included footage of Rittenhouse in Kenosha. There is no public evidence that Rittenhouse is a white supremacist.

The left-leaning Anti-Defamation League told CBS News in August that Rittenhouse doesn't have any visible ties to extremist groups.
"Formal demand for public retraction is being prepared for Biden/Harris Campaign on behalf of Kyle Rittenhouse," Rittenhouse's attorney, Lin Wood, wrote on Twitter, including a screenshot from Biden's video.

Defence Minister Shoigu: Russian servicemen killed over 133,000 militants in Syria

Comment: Russia is the actual ISIS-slayer. Trump only gives grist to the 'Russia collusion' mill when he claims the US 'destroyed ISIS' because the only way in which that could be realistically interpreted is if by 'we' Trump means 'me and my Russian buddies'...

Russian troops in Syria have killed more than 133,000 militants, including 4,500 from former Soviet republics, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

The military operation of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria, by agreement with Damascus, began on 30 September 2015.

"A total of 865 gang leaders and more than 133,000 militants, including 4,500 militants from the Russian Federation and the CIS countries, have been eliminated", the minister said in an article published in the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

Comment: The above story is quite probably one of the most constructive and efficient displays of military power that the world has seen in many decades - and would not have even been necessary had the US, the UK, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and several other Middle Eastern countries not radicalized, weaponized and deployed the hundreds of thousands of crazed militants that they had.

The Azerbaijani military has passed control of its air force operations in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region to Turkey, Yerevan claims. Ankara insists no Turkish aircraft was used in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Turkey's military command has allegedly been coordinating the Azerbaijani airstrikes against targets in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Armenian defense ministry's spokeswoman, Shushan Stepanyan, said in a series of Twitter posts on Wednesday.
