Former FBI Director James Comey
Finally "Cardinal" Comey meets his match. Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri destroys Comey in yesterday's hearing before the US Senate.

Fired FBI Director Jim Comey, who was right in the middle of the coup to remove President Trump from office, was in front of the US Senate yesterday. He spoke from home while the Senate met in Washington, D.C. to question him.

The real highlight of the hearing was when Missouri Senator Josh Hawley had his turn.

Below are the transcripts from a couple of the exchanges as recorded by PJ Media:

Comment: Living up to the viewer recommendation, this is an excellent Q&A between Hawley and Comey.

Davis: CIA Director Gina Haspel is blocking declassification of remaining Russigate documents

GHaspel

CIA Director Gina Haspel
CIA Director Gina Haspel is personally blocking the declassification of documents detailing corruption at the highest levels of the intelligence community during the 2016 election, according to The Federalist co-founder Sean Davis.

While new information about wrongdoing at the FBI has recently been declassified, including recent revelations about Hillary Clinton campaign's collusion with Russia, Davis reported on Tucker Carlson Tonight Wednesday that Haspel herself is standing in the way of the declassification of other relevant documents.

"I'm told that it is Gina Haspel personally who is blocking continued declassification of these documents that will show the American people the truth of what actually happened," Davis said.

Notably, Haspel was previously the London CIA station chief under former CIA director John Brennan during the 2016 election. "Recall it was London where Christopher Steele was doing all this work," Davis said, noting Haspel was the "main link" between Washington and London at the time. Haspel was hand-picked by former CIA director John Brennan to run the CIA's operations in London, where she served as the spy agency's bureau chief from 2014 through early 2017.

Comment: There are two conspicuous options: Never declassify nor reveal evidence, or wait 50+ years until those who were implicated have departed to their deserved rewards and there is no longer skin in the game nor ramifications applicable to justify concerns. Can we do better than this?

AP takes a page from Orwell: Why say 'riot' when you can be vague and sensitive instead, AP Stylebook urges in newest guidelines

Riot or 'unrest'? Portland, Oregon, September 23, 2020.
Used as the journalism Bible by most English-language media, the AP Stylebook has updated its guidance for employing the word 'riot,' citing the need to avoid "stigmatizing" groups protesting "for racial justice."

While acknowledging the dictionary definition of riot as a "wild or violent disturbance of the peace," AP said the word somehow "suggests uncontrolled chaos and pandemonium."

Worse yet, "Focusing on rioting and property destruction rather than underlying grievance has been used in the past to stigmatize broad swaths of people protesting against lynching, police brutality or for racial justice..." the Stylebook account tweeted on Wednesday.

Bush speechwriter turned Never-Trump liberal hero David Frum is wringing his hands over Germany taking over from the US to play nursemaid to Russian opposition figure Alexey Navalny. It hasn't been received well.

Germany, by airlifting Navalny to a Berlin hospital after he fell ill on a flight to Moscow and treating his alleged poisoning, was "sitting in what used to be America's chair," Frum complained in a tweet on Thursday.

No bias here: Second debate monitor Steve Scully interned for Biden, was staff assistant to Ted Kennedy

Steve Scully
The Commission on Presidential Debates has chosen C-SPAN political editor and host of the network's "Washington Journal" call-in program, Steve Scully, to moderate the second presidential debate on Oct. 15 in Miami.

Scully is largely considered an old-school, unbiased journalist and was described as having a "famously calm demeanor" in a recent bio by Marie Claire. So one might think his presence at the debate would be a welcome addition after Tuesday night's testy, insult-laden contest.

Yet, as the Daily Wire reported Thursday, there are a some areas of Scully's background that are likely to raise eyebrows in conservative circles. Namely, that Scully worked as an intern for then-Sen. Joe Biden in college and later worked as a staff assistant in late liberal firebrand Sen. Ted Kennedy's communications office.

Ice Age Farmer Report: GREEN SABBATH: Sunday lockdowns for "Gaia" & Jubilee for the earth

green
Climate alarmists--from the Pope to Rabbis to Greta--are calling for a Sunday "Green Sabbath," forcing people to stay home in deference to Gaia. Now that people are used to perfect surveillance and enforced lockdowns, the stage is set for this truly Satanic inversion: worship of the creation, instead of the Creator, on a day chosen by the Catholic church. Agenda 2030 and spiritual battles are playing out before our eyes -- will you be corralled along, or stand up as a free human and refuse to worship their Earth Day Jubilee?

Capitalism has a natural way of resetting itself. Markets reward winners while punishing losers. Losing businesses restructure, find a better angle to compete, or they go bankrupt. The business owner, hopefully, wise enough not to fall into complete ruin, starts over and re-enters the market, wiser and more competitive than before (at least, that's the idea).

If an entire economy gets mismanaged, then the same austere consequences that may befall a single company also befalls an economy. That is, unless a governing body intervenes, deviating from the natural course of "capitalism proper." This latter route is what the Federal Reserve has done for decades and continues to do to this day.

By bailing out the nation's "bad economic actors," and forestalling the resetting process, the Fed is consigning the future of the United States to a weakened state. By putting the nation into massive debt, the future growth of a "natural" economy is being choked to death, forever reliant on central bank stimulus.

There will be a breaking point. But it may be far from what most anticipate.

'Navalny is working with the CIA': Kremlin makes explosive allegation after Navalny blames Putin for alleged poisoning UPDATE

Alexei Navalny
Western intelligence agencies - in particular, agents from the American CIA - are working with Russian opposition figure Alexey Navalny, Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov alleged on Thursday:
"Probably, it is not the patient [Navalny] who works for the Western special services, but that the Western intelligence services who work with him - this would be more correct [to say]. I can even be specific: these days, specialists from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States of America are working with him.

"This isn't the first time he's been given different instructions. The instructions given to the patient are obvious. We have seen such patterns of behavior on more than one occasion."
The bombshell allegation comes just hours after Navalny claimed Putin was behind his alleged poisoning in August. He told Germany's Der Spiegel magazine that he had "no other explanation for what happened."

Comment: Navalny fingers the Kremlin for his poisoning. If it were true, they wouldn't have used Novichok and he wouldn't be around to say so.
"I assert that Putin was behind the crime, and I have no other explanation for what happened," he told the magazine. Navalny added that, despite the apparent attempt on his life, he wants to return to Russia.
"My job now is to remain the guy who isn't afraid. And I'm not afraid! When my hands shake, it's not from fear - it's from this stuff (the poison). I would not give Putin the gift of not returning to Russia."
Throughout the opposition figure's recovery, the Kremlin has issued various statements wishing him well. In Russia, a pre-investigation check is underway into the possible poisoning, but a criminal case has not yet been initiated. Authorities have pointed out that Navalny's team moved some key evidence to Germany and insist that Berlin has not been cooperative in providing results from toxicology tests.

Navalny expressed his "tremendous gratitude to all Germans," saying that the country's politicians and Chancellor Angela Merkel saved his life. Der Spiegel did not mention the first responders in Siberia in the extract published on Thursday morning.

"I know it sounds a bit over the top, but Germany has become a special country for me," Navalny said. Referring to his private meeting with Merkel, at the Charité clinic, he said: "I was impressed by the detail she knows about Russia and my case."
UPDATE 1/10/2020 Navalny to sue Peskov over CIA allegation:
Navalny fired back on his blog:
"This is a direct allegation from a government official. Therefore, first of all, I am taking legal action against Peskov. And secondly, I demand that the proof and facts that suggest I am 'working with specialists from the CIA' are published. Put it straight on television, in prime time. You have my permission."
In the same press call on Thursday when Peskov linked the anti-corruption campaigner to the CIA, he responded to Navalny's interview by saying:
"We believe that such accusations against the Russian president are absolutely unfounded and unacceptable, and furthermore, we find a host of these statements completely offensive and inexcusable."
As tensions mounted, members of Russia's State Duma continued to throw their weight behind Peskov. According to its website, speaker Vyacheslav Volodin called Alexey Navalny a collaborator of Western intelligence agencies:
"Navalny is a shameless person and a skunk. Putin saved his life. If what happened to him had been orchestrated by the intelligence services of Western countries, then his statement fits perfectly into the scheme of things. Everyone genuinely worked to save him - from the pilots and doctors to the president. And only an ingrate could make such statements."
The head of the legal team at Alexey Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation, Vyacheslav Gimadi, confirmed that the lawsuit would be addressed to Dmitry Peskov's home address, and would fall under the jurisdiction of the Presnensky district court in Moscow.

The left's "white supremacy" trap against Trump

Biden Trump
Last night's presidential debate revealed the faulty assumptions most media are using against President Trump. President Trump was right when he said to moderator Chris Wallace, "I guess I'm debating you, not him, but OK." President Trump is debating almost all media outlets and journalists.

This morning, there are countless stories and tweets that President Trump "refused" to denounce white supremacy. Many people claim they are outraged because President Trump didn't specifically disavow the Proud Boys. Tim Scott is also falling into this trap by saying the president "misspoke."

Comment: Why the author would seek to have Trump be anyone's nightmare as the author mentions in the last paragraph, is beyond us - especially since Trump's that already - and mostly undeservedly so. Also, the author seems to be conflating "white interests" with what may more accurately be considered working class interests, since the draining the swamp, ending wars, bringing manufacturing jobs back, etc. - effects all working class interests pretty much across the board.

The main thrust of the article should be well taken, though. But the author might have also added that Trump has been so largely preoccupied with fending off egregious political attacks these last few years that he simply did not have the time or resources required to help his base as well as those that the Dems claim to support - more.

NBC spins conspiracy theory about Trump being in debt to Russia

Andrew Weissmann NBC
Like the rest of the network broadcasts Monday morning, NBC's Today show seized on a report in the New York Times claiming President Trump has not paid income taxes in years and has hundreds of millions of dollars in debt. Without actually seeing the documents or knowing the source for the Times story, NBC accepted it as gospel and even launched into a wild conspiracy theory that Trump must be in debt to Russia.

"Years of the President's tax returns finally made public, revealing he paid almost nothing in federal income taxes over more than a decade," co-host Savannah Guthrie gleefully proclaimed at the top of the show. She then ominously warned: "This morning, what the records reveal about Trump's massive business loses and the enormous bill about to come due."
