Postscript to "Spitzer taken down by Mossad?"

In my March 14 article, Spitzer taken down by Mossad, I quoted veteran Beltway reporter Wayne Madsen who said, "Defenses sources have confirmed our March 11 report that Emperors Club VIP, the prostitution firm that entangled New York's outgoing Governor Eliot Spitzer in a call girl ring, is viewed by US intelligence as a front for Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad.

"The sources claim that Spitzer was 'outed' for his aggressiveness in attacking money launderers connected to Russian-Israeli organized crime syndicates and other Wall Street malfeasance."

Just eight days before that article, a federal judge in New York had ordered that Mark "Michael" Brener be held without bail after his March 6 arrest as the boss procurer in this politically weaponized prostitution scandal. What's more, a JTA Breaking News article, Israeli at center of Spitzer scandal tells us Mark Brener, a 62-year old Israeli of 29 years in the US had an Israeli passport and some $600,000 on hand. Where do they find these guys?

Spitzer taken down by Mossad?

Eliot Spitzer took on Wall Street like no other attorney general before him. As the Washington Post reported in 2004, "His targets in the past have included everyone from big Wall Street investment banks and the $7.5 trillion mutual fund industry to polluting power plants and supermarket chains that underpaid delivery workers."

Additionally, Wayne Madsen reports [subscription required] that "Defense sources have confirmed our March 11, 2008, report that Emperors Club VIP, the prostitution firm that entangled New York's outgoing Governor Eliot Spitzer in a call girl ring, is viewed by US intelligence as a front for Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad.

Northern Ireland: More evidence of MI5's network of informers and provocateurs in the IRA

According to the Observer, shortly before taking him into "protective custody", it was MI5 itself that warned Roy McShane that he was in danger of being exposed as another British spy close to leadership of the Irish Republican Army (IRA).

MI5 apparently knew of an internal IRA investigation that had revealed McShane's affiliations. How it knew the article did not say, but McShane's exposure in February this year sheds further light on the criminal and murderous operation mounted by British intelligence against the IRA and Sinn Fein.

US: Bush's Carefree Crash-and-Burn Presidency

The more terrified Americans get of Bush's policy disasters, the more bizarrely cheery is his attitude.

Everyone here is flummoxed about why the president is in such a fine mood.

The dollar's crumpling, the recession's thundering, the Dow's bungee-jumping and the world's disapproving, yet George Bush has turned into Gene Kelly, tap dancing and singing in a one-man review called "The Most Happy Fella."

China sets deadline for Tibet rioters to surrender

China set a "surrender" deadline after riots in Lhasa that it said killed 10 innocent people, launching a crackdown on Saturday after the worst unrest in Tibet for two decades.

The response came after torrid protests on Friday which flew in the face of official claims the region was immune from unrest as Beijing readies to hold the Olympic Games in August.

China says 10 "burnt to death" in Tibet riots

BEIJING - China said at least 10 people burnt to death in riots in the Tibetan capital Lhasa, the fiercest pro-independence protests to have rocked the region in two decades, scarring China's image months before the Olympics.

Xinhua news agency said the 10 died in the bitter clashes that erupted in the remote, mountain capital on Friday, having initially said seven. It said no foreigners died but gave few other details.

The Spitzer Sex Sting: Politically Motivated?

It looks like the Bush Justice Department just bagged themselves another Democratic Governor. Here's the New York Times on the story:
Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who gained national prominence relentlessly pursuing Wall Street wrongdoing, has been caught on a federal wiretap arranging to meet with a high-priced prostitute at a Washington hotel last month, according to a law enforcement official and a person briefed on the investigation.

The wiretap captured a man identified as Client 9 on a telephone call confirming plans to have a woman travel from New York to Washington, where he had reserved a hotel room, according to an affidavit filed in federal court in Manhattan. The person briefed on the case and the law enforcement official identified Mr. Spitzer as Client 9.

Mr. Spitzer, a first term Democrat, today made a brief public appearance during which he apologized for his behavior, and described it as a "private matter." He did not address his political future. "I have acted in a way that violates my obligation to my family and violates my or any sense of right or wrong," said Mr. Spitzer, who appeared with his wife Silda at his Manhattan office. "I apologize first and most importantly to my family. I apologize to the public to whom I promised better."
