Spygate source Stefan Halper: Was he working for Hillary Clinton's campaign?

Stefan Halper
It's long been known that Stefan Halper served as a confidential human source (CHS) for the FBI. Inspector General Michael Horowitz's report on Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuse, while not identifying Halper by name, added many details concerning his extensive role in spying on the Trump campaign: Halper secretly recorded several conversations with Trump campaign advisors Carter Page and George Papadopoulos and, more troublingly, the FBI tasked Halper to tape an extensive conversation with Sam Clovis — a co-chair of the Trump presidential campaign.

Publicly available information on government contracts also reveal that Halper received hundreds of thousands of dollars for four projects he completed for the Department of Defense's Office of Net Assessments. As part of his oversight responsibilities as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Sen. Chuck Grassley has raised concerns about the merits of those contracts and further questioned whether Halper "used any taxpayer money in his attempt to recruit Trump campaign officials as sources."

The global economy catches Coronavirus: The Fed, the virus, and inequality

global economy
Whether you're invested in the stock market or not, you've likely noticed that it's been on a roller coaster lately. The White House and most of the D.C. Beltway crowd tend to equate the performance of the stock market with that of the broader economy. To President Trump's extreme chagrin, $3.18 trillion in stock market value vaporized during the last week of February. Stock markets around the world also fell dramatically. When all was said and done, $6 trillion had been at least temporarily erased from them. It was the worst week for the markets since the financial crisis of 2008 and it would only get worse from there.

In the wake of that, the Federal Reserve kicked into gear. By the first week of March, after high-level coordination among the Group of Seven (G-7) countries and their financial elites, the Fed acted as it largely had since the financial crisis, but with more intensity, giving the markets a brief shot in the arm.

In a move that Wall Street and the White House had clamored for, the Fed cut the level of interest rates by half a percentage point. The markets reacted by doing exactly the opposite of what the Fed hoped and, after having briefly soared, the Dow then tanked nearly 1,000 points that day. The next day, it rose 1,173 points (also partially attributed to Wall Street's embrace of Joe Biden's Super Tuesday results), only to plunge again soon after. Then, this Monday, within a few minutes of opening, the markets dropped more than 7%, triggering a halt in trading.

Dizzy yet? Okay. Let's take a step back.

Buffoon Biden: Compilation of pathological public lies and plagiarism going back decades

Joe Biden
Overwhelming signs of dementia, stupidity, incessant lies and lacking any kind of moral conviction whatsoever - are only some of the most recent indications that not only would Joe Biden make a horrible president (even if presidents have very limited power anyway), but that the Dems have absolutely no one else they are confident would fill the top spot for puppet-in-chief.

To back up the awful picture we already have of Biden, Jimmy Dore has put together a compilation of Biden's Big Lies about himself. Given the fact that he was publicly caught out in those lies (which included plagiarism) so many years ago, its a wonder that he is now running for president - never mind still in politics!

'Global recession likely': Dow futures plunge 1,000 points despite Fed's zero interest rate and worldwide financial injections

stock plunge
Global stock markets plunged Monday as investors were unnerved by drastic action from the US Federal Reserve to cushion the blow from coronavirus and as data showed the outbreak has caused an unprecedented economic collapse in China.

Markets were battered across Asia, with Australia's benchmark index crashing nearly 10% in its worst day on record. In Europe, London's FTSE 100 (UKX) fell 7% in early trading, while France's CAC 40 (CAC40) and Germany's DAX (DAX) dropped roughly 9%.

US markets were poised to suffer heavy losses. Dow (INDU) futures were last down 1,041 points, or about 4.5%. S&P 500 (SPX) futures slumped 4.8%, while Nasdaq (COMP) futures shed 4.5%. There are now more than 3,000 cases of the novel coronavirus in the United States, according to government agencies and the CDC.

Judge approves settlement allowing Hunter Biden's finances to remain under wraps

The settlement agreement reached between Hunter Biden and the Arkansas mother of his child earlier this week was approved by the court on Thursday, allowing the former vice president's son to avoid appearing in court and keep his highly scrutinized financial situation under wraps.

The redacted court order filed Thursday mandates that Biden begin making monthly child support payments to Lunden Alexis Roberts on April 1, pay for the child's health insurance, and reimburse Roberts for legal costs of the case. All financial information, including both the amount Biden has already paid to Roberts and the amount of his future payments, is redacted from the publicly released order.

The settlement comes after a nearly yearlong legal fight between Biden and Roberts, who filed suit last summer asking the court for an order declaring Biden to be the father of their child and for child support. After months of avoiding service of the lawsuit, Biden agreed to undergo a paternity test and was declared the father by the court.

'Will CNN call him xenophobic now?' Biden says Covid-19 is like 'attack from abroad' after Trump pilloried for 'foreign virus'

Joe Biden has raised quite a few eyebrows after he compared the coronavirus outbreak in the US with "being attacked from abroad," prompting many to wonder if he is to be held to the same standard by liberal media as Donald Trump.

The first one-on-one debate between former VP Joe Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders was largely overshadowed by the coronavirus crisis raging in the US, with both Democratic candidates unloading heavily on US President Donald Trump for his handling of the pandemic within the country's shores.

While the two have clashed over Sander's Medicare for All proposal, Biden took a conciliatory tone at the Vermont independent, saying that he "agrees with Bernie" in principle on how to deal with the health scare.

The multipolar alliance induces Rumpelstiltskin's self-destruction on Western order

Rumpelstiltskin story

There are several versions of the old German folk tale of Rumpelstiltskin. The story begins with greedy king who is told by a foolish old miller that a young girl (the miller's daughter) had the ability to spin hay into gold. When the poor girl is locked into a tower with bales of straw, a loom and orders to transform it all into gold under threat of death, a magical imp appears out of thin air and they reach an agreement: He will use his magic to spin the hay into gold on the condition that the girl gives the imp her first born child. The greedy king is pleased with the wealth that appeared from thin air, and the daughter's neck is saved. Sadly the day eventually arrives for her to give up a child, and the imp in sadistic glee responds to her pleading tears by giving her three chances annul the contract. All she has to do is guess his name. To make a long story short, his name is discovered and Rumpelstiltskin literally tears himself to pieces in a fit of mad rage.

I think this story exemplifies the self-cannibalization of the deep state over the past several years quite nicely.

The enemy within: A 70-year war on 'propaganda' built by the CIA

Pompeo

Former CIA Director, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo
"Hell is empty and all the devils are here"
- William Shakespeare (The Tempest Act 1 Scene 2)

War has always depended on a reliable system to spread its propaganda. The Arthashastra written by Chankya (350-283 BCE) who was chief advisor to the Emperor Chandragupta (the first ruler of the Mauryan Empire) discusses propaganda and how to disperse and apply it in warfare. It is one of the oldest accounts of the essentialism of propaganda in warfare.

Propaganda is vital in times of war because it is absolutely imperative that the people, who often need to make the greatest sacrifices and suffer the most, believe that such a war is justified and that such a war will provide them security. To the degree that they believe this to be true, the greater the degree of sacrifice and suffering they are willing to submit themselves for said "promised security".

It is crucial that when the people look at the "enemy" they see something sub-human, for if they recognise that said "enemy" has in fact humanity, the jig is up so to speak. And thus we are bombarded day after day, hour after hour of reminders as to why the "enemy" is not human like us, not compassionate like us, not patient, just and wise like us. No doubt, war has been a necessary response when tyranny has formed an army to fight for its cause, but I would put forth that most wars have been rather unnecessary and downright manipulated for the design of a small group of people.

USA's inglorious finale for the Afghan tragedy

Washington was all but overwhelmed by a tsunami wave of either euphoria or hysteria following the agreement reached between the US and the radical movement Taliban (banned in Russia). It is quite understandable. After all, against the backdrop of the Trump administration's constant failures in Iran, Syria, Iraq and other countries of the Middle East, any sort of deal with the Taliban seems like a great achievement. The American president spoke of it wherever possible — he gave several speeches on TV, gave numerous interviews to newspapers and formally wrote about his 'great victory' on Twitter.

But what, exactly, was signed in Doha, Qatar, and is it really an important document worth blabbing about at every corner? Officially, the key points of this deal are as follows:
  • The US will reduce its forces in Afghanistan from about 12,000 to 8,600 and will close five military bases by mid-July. The remaining troops will be withdrawn by May 2021.
  • The Taliban will not allow militant groups to use Afghan land to threaten the United States and its allies.
  • The Afghan government will release up to 5,000 Taliban prisoners in exchange for 1,000 Afghan security forces held by the Taliban.
  • The US will work to lift sanctions from Taliban members.
  • The Taliban and the Afghan government will begin negotiations for a comprehensive ceasefire in March.
Mike Pompeo admitted that the agreement contains some provisions that cannot be disclosed to the public, but will be available to members of the US Congress. The content of the secret part of the deal concerns the security of US military personnel.
