Monsanto's 5 Most Dubious Contributions to the Planet

Image

When Monsanto wins, the rest of the planet loses.
Oh, Monsanto, you sly dog.

You keep trying to make us believe you are "committed to sustainable agriculture" with your canny advertisements on American Public Media, even as you force-feed farmers your lab-grown Frankenseeds that expire every year (which are, let's be honest, opposite of sustainable).

But we shouldn't be surprised by the mixed message, should we? After all, you've been doing this for decades. With long-running corporate sponsorships, like Disney's Tomorrowland, building reserves of goodwill as you spray us with DDT, it's clear you're entitled to send out products into the world with nary an environmental or health concern - just as long as you spend a bit of that hard-earned cash convincing us otherwise.

On that note, let's take a quick look at some of the biotech giant's most dubious contributions to society over their past century in business.

Egyptian media reports that the Attorney General referred a Jordanian and an Israeli Mossad agent to an emergency court for spying and 'harming Egyptian interests.'

Egypt's Attorney General on Sunday referred a Jordanian and an Israeli to an emergency court on charges of "spying for a foreign country with the purpose of harming Egyptian national interests," Egyptian media reported.

Bashar Ibrahim Abu Zeid, a Jordanian telecommunications engineer, was detained in Egypt last April after intelligence information allegedly showed he was spying for the Mossad, Israel's intelligence body. According to reports, Ofir Herari, who was named as a Mossad officer, is to be tried in absentia.

Socially Engineered 'Useful Idiots' are Engineering the Structure of the Gulag for Us All

The recent pre-planned riots in London, and across other major cities in Britain, were not 'organised' in any way by the gangs of criminal youth who ransacked shops and burnt down buildings, narrowly avoiding killing innocent people in their homes. They were however obviously orchestrated by elements within the establishment who have planned for just this type of event for many years.

To suggest that these mindless yobs arranged all of this by mobile phone, Facebook and Twitter is laughable considering that all such means of communication are monitored by the government's security apparatus. Every keystroke on your computer, including all data entered on the likes of Facebook etc., every email you send, every text message and every phone call you make are recorded. You have no privacy in this society and have had none for many years.

London has more CCTV cameras than any other city in the world and Britain is the most surveilled country on the planet bar NONE. To think that anyone can ransack a shop or commit any act of violence in London and not be identified and/or tracked street by street to their home is farcical.

81 US lawmakers in Israel on 'tour' sponsored by Zionist lobbying group
Although accepting free trips from lobbyists is illegal for Congress members under US anti-graft and corruption laws, the trips to Israel have been granted a special exception by the Congress.

One-fifth of the US Congress is currently in Israel on a free trip sponsored by the American Israel Educational Foundation, an affiliate of the largest Zionist lobby in the US: the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

The Congress members, led by Representative Steny Hoyer, will receive briefings from Israeli government officials, tour historic religious sites and receive a guided tour around Israel by Israeli tour guides intent on promoting Israeli policies in the region.

US: Shiny Happy Corporate People

Mitt Romney

Former Massachusetts Gov. and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney greets attendees at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, Iowa, Aug. 11, 2011.

Mitt Romney got a lot of press for telling a heckler at the Iowa State Fair that "corporations are people." He did not go on to sing that Patti Smith song, People Have the Power.

But corporate "people" certainly do. Their power was on display this week, both in Washington and among the Republicans campaigning for the nomination.

Ordinary People

Here's Romney's quote in context:
"Corporations are people, my friend... of course they are. Everything corporations earn ultimately goes to the people. Where do you think it goes? Whose pockets? Whose pockets? People's pockets. Human beings, my friend."

US halts humanitarian assistance to Gaza Strip

The radical Palestinian group Hamas controls the Gaza Strip

USAID is halting humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip over alleged meddling by the radical Palestinian group Hamas, a US official has said.

"We deeply regret that USAID-funded partner organisations operating in Gaza are forced by Hamas's actions to suspend their assistance work," the official said.

"USAID assistance programmes were put on hold effective August 12," he added.

"Hamas, through a series of measures it has imposed over the past months, has created an environment which jeopardises the ability of non-governmental organisations to provide assistance to Gazas most vulnerable residents," the official said.

He said all US partner organisations would suspend their activities funded by the United States until these are able "to operate without interference or harassment from Hamas."

Bachmann: America 'cursed' by God 'if we reject Israel'

At a Republican Jewish Coalition event in Los Angeles last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann offered a candid view of her positions on Israel: Support for Israel is handed down by God and if the United States pulls back its support, America will cease to exist.

The Republican Jewish Coalition is the same organization that recently hired former Sen. Norm Coleman. Bachmann's appearance on Feb.1 is part of a whirlwind of national events for Bachmann in February. Next up: she's keynoting the Take Back Washington North Dakota event in Bismarck this Friday night.

Here's a transcript of some of her remarks at the RJC event:

Comment: Michelle Bachmann won the Iowa Straw-Poll just beating Ron Paul into second place.

Sony Hosted Obama Fundraiser, Releasing Bin Laden Movie Before Election

There may be an overtly political reason that moviegoers will be seeing the story of the Osama bin Laden raid just before they vote for president. Sony Pictures, the company distributing next year's film, hosted a fundraiser for Barack Obama on their studio's premises in California last April. So far, Sony is the only major studio to hold a political fundraiser this cycle. According to Deadline Hollywood, Sony will release the bin Laden movie, directed by Academy Award-winning director Kathryn Bigelow, on October 12, 2012--less than a month before the presidential election.

Comment: A very good example of politcs colluding with hollywood to rewrite history, reinforce propaganda and stage a well-timed 'patriotic' blockbuster to try and re-elect a President.

Public Outraged Over Armed Raid of Food Co-op

Image

Federal and state teams arrest people at gunpoint, destroy food, and seize assets - all because they're afraid of unpasteurized milk and cheese. Please don't let them trample the Constitution this way.

On August 2, there was an armed raid on Rawesome Foods in Venice, California, conducted jointly by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office, the FDA, the Department of Agriculture, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. You may recall that we reported about a similar FDA raid on the same co-op last year.

Mike Adams, editor of NaturalNews.com, broke the story last week, and we thank him for his excellent and continuing coverage of this issue. He reports that armed teams were deployed with guns drawn, law enforcement ordered all co-op members out of the store, seized all the cash in the register, then handcuffed the co-op's founder, James Stewart, and placed him in an unmarked car without reading him hist rights.

Then authorities seized $70,000 in raw organic food - raw milk, cheese, yogurt, and fresh produce - and poured an estimated 800 gallons of milk down the drain, though there was no evidence that any of the products were contaminated.

Somebody Made Huge Money on S&P Downgrade of US

The Standard and Poor's rating agency is facing an inquiry after it stripped the US of its top AAA rating last week.

The US Security and Exchange commission is now investigating the Standard & Poor's Rating Agency over allegations of insider trading before America's rating change was officially announced.
