Shadows and Ashes: The Crocus City Hall massacre and the covert war's phantom menace ISIS, cui bono?

As the dust settles on the ruins of Crocus City Hall, a venue once echoing with the anticipation of music, now a silent witness to a horrific massacre claiming 137 lives, a chilling narrative unfolds, revealing more than the mere act of terror. Before the ashes could cool, before the world could grasp the magnitude of the atrocity, unsolicited denials from the US and Ukraine pierced the air, their haste betraying a foreknowledge disturbing in its implications. Their rush to disclaim responsibility, even as Russia had yet to cast blame, paints a damning picture of awareness and complicity in a tragedy that Moscow hadn't even attributed to them — how revealing their swiftness, how telling their fear.

The narrative, meticulously woven with the threads of premature denials, is laid bare against the backdrop of a tragedy that saw gunmen storm the Crocus City Hall, transforming a night of revelry into a nightmarish inferno. The attackers, armed with Kalashnikovs and combat ammunition, claimed the lives of innocents, including three children, leaving a trail of 180 wounded. The swift seizure of 11 suspects by Russia's FSB, some detained near the Ukrainian border, only deepens the intrigue, pointing towards a web of complicity pointing towards the US via neo-nazi puppet Ukraine.

It was quite instructive how quickly the client media in the West assigned at the behest of their government masters, blame to ISIS. Operation Timber Sycamore, the brainchild of the CIA in 2013, painted a facade of liberty while orchestrating a theatre of chaos and constant tension. Under the pathetic guise of nurturing democracy in Syria, the CIA, with MI6 and Mossad et. al, engaged in a calculated charade, peddling "moderate rebels" as a smokescreen and middleman for their real agenda. This not-so elaborate ruse was not just about arming purported freedom fighters; it was an orchestrated pipeline funneling lethal aid and vast sums of black budget money to the very epicenters of radicalism. ISIS and Al-Nusra, draped in the banners of Wahhabi extremism, were not mere byproducts of conflict but the beneficiaries of a coldly calculated Western strategy that saw their barbarism as a necessary evil in the pursuit of hegemonic dominance.

Baltic leaders urge NATO to bring back conscription, suggest 'defence tax' and doubling of defence spending

© Fadel Senna/AFP via Getty ImagesFILE: Presidents of Latvia and Estonia say European states in alliance should do more to prepare for Russian threat
Two Baltic presidents have urged other European countries to do more to prepare for a possible armed confrontation with Russia by looking at everything from conscription and a special defence tax to significantly increasing military spending.

Latvia's Edgars Rinkēvičs told the Financial Times that European countries needed to return to "cold war-era spending" levels and should discuss the return of compulsory military service to boost defence forces' manpower.

"There is a need for serious discussion about conscription," Rinkēvičs said.

Western officials have repeatedly warned in recent months that Moscow could challenge the military alliance's mutual defence clause with hybrid or military attacks on Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania — the three Baltic states on Nato's eastern flank — in the coming years, following Russia's 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Kosovo War at 25: Blair's secret invasion plot to 'topple Milosevic' revealed

Tony Blair and Hashim Thaci
Tony Blair with KLA leader and now-indicted war criminal Hashim Thaci
Top secret papers reviewed by The Grayzone reveal Tony Blair demanded strikes on civilian targets in Yugoslavia days before NATO attacked them. While the UK military acknowledged a NATO strike on Hotel Jugoslavia would mean inflicting "some civilian casualties," it insisted the deaths were "worth the cost."

Declassified British Ministry of Defence (MOD) files reviewed by The Grayzone reveal that officials in London conspired to embroil US troops in a secret plan to occupy Yugoslavia and "topple" President Slobodan Milosevic during NATO's 1999 war on the country. Though the crazed scheme was never implemented, details of the plot reveal precisely how British officials successfully shaped Washington into a blunt force instrument of their vanquished empire in years to come.

March 24 marks the 25th anniversary of Operation Allied Force, NATO's 78-day-long bombing campaign against Yugoslavia. Still venerated in Western mainstream as a successful "humanitarian intervention" conducted to prevent an impending "genocide" of Kosovo's Albanian population, the war was in fact a wantonly destructive, illegal assault on a sovereign, multiethnic country, based on lies and atrocity propaganda. Belgrade had in fact been engaged in a counterinsurgency battle against the CIA and MI6-backed Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), an Al Qaeda-linked extremist group.

The KLA — funded by the narcotics trade and organ harvestingexplicitly sought to maximize civilian casualties, in order to precipitate Western intervention. In May 2000, a British parliamentary committee concluded all purported abuses of Albanian citizens by Yugoslav authorities occurred after NATO's bombing began, finding that the alliance's intervention had actually encouraged Belgrade to aggressively neutralize the KLA. Meanwhile, in September 2001, a UN court in Pristina determined that Belgrade's actions in Kosovo were not genocidal in nature, or intent.

These findings are largely overlooked today. A February Politico investigation into the West's post-war pillage of Kosovo axiomatically asserted that NATO intervened in Yugoslavia "to halt an unfolding genocide against the ethnic-Albanian population." Similarly forgotten is just how close leading NATO states came to invading Belgrade during that chaotic spring.

Ansarallah has single-handedly disrupted global shipping power dynamics. Yemen is launching attacks against Israeli-linked vessels deep into the Indian Ocean to cut off the last waterway route to the occupation state.
Our people are ready to send hundreds of thousands of mujahideen to Palestine. Okay, geography might pose a problem. It could be a problem for our people to go there in large numbers. Nevertheless, and despite all the obstacles, we will not hesitate to do whatever we can. We are completely coordinated with our brothers in the Jihad and resistance front to do anything and everything that we can do.
- Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, 10 October 2023

Since Abdul-Malik al-Houthi's proclamation three days after the launch of the Palestinian resistance's 7 October Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, Yemen's Ansarallah movement, under his leadership, has undergone a remarkable transformation.

The French leader is said to be "totally freaked out by the Russians" amid his own efforts to antagonize Moscow

French president Emmanuel Macron's concerns for his own personal safety are being amplified by his public statements and tough stance on the Ukraine conflict, Marianne magazine reported on Sunday.

The magazine spoke to multiple sources within Macron's security detail, the country's Interior Ministry, and to his notorious ex-bodyguard Alexandre Benalla. During his time with Macron's security team, Benalla became embroiled in multiple scandals, including beating up demonstrators alongside riot police during the Yellow Vest protests.

Macron has always been concerned with his personal security, Benalla claimed, revealing the president had bolstered the ranks of his guard right after assuming office.

It is housed in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), a Cabinet-level position that oversees the intelligence community.

The document's theme is "the importance of words," focusing on ways spy agencies can be more inclusive.

US destroyed anti-terrorism cooperation - Moscow

Anatoly Antonov

The US has dismantled its counterterrorism cooperation with Moscow, Russian Ambassador in Washington DC Anatoly Antonov has claimed. The diplomat added that joint work in this field had been among the key aspects of the partnership between the two nations.

The official's remark came shortly after several gunmen staged one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in Russia's modern history, unleashing a shooting spree at the Crocus City concert hall just outside of Moscow on Friday evening. According to the latest estimates, the raid has claimed the lives of at least 133 people, with scores more injured.

Earlier this month, the US embassy in Moscow warned its citizens against attending large gatherings due to an imminent threat of a terrorist attack in the Russian capital.

In an article on Sunday, RIA Novosti quoted Antonov as saying: "I've always reminded the Americans that our president [Vladimir Putin] was the first one to extend a hand to the Americans and stated readiness to provide assistance in 2001," referring to the September 11 terrorist attacks.

He noted that "some things [in this cooperation] worked out... and it is all destroyed today through no fault of our own."

...but it won't change the outcome of the war.

133 dead civilians mowed down at a concert in Moscow by 4 Tajik gunmen-for-hire. Who paid them? Western media is sure they were 'ISIS', yet they were caught trying to escape to Ukraine. And that this occurred amidst increasing strikes and counter-strikes between Ukraine and Russia, the true motive for this atrocity is clear: to unsettle Russia and provoke Putin into escalating and/or deviating from 'the SMO plan' to demilitarize Ukraine.

Also in this NewsReal, Macron denies that his wife is a man and flexes his muscles for Putin, Israel prepares to drive Palestinians out of southern Gaza (and into Egypt?), and the Kate Middleton mystery is 'solved'.

SOTT Focus: Lockdown's Fourth Birthday

Masked Person
© Off-Guardian
Today marks four years to the day since the UK went into "lockdown" for the first time.

What an exciting time that was, right? With the pan-banging and the curve-flattening and the Spirit of the Blitz living on. Good times.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's team decided to honour the occasion by slapping themselves on the back:

Needless to say, this is revisionism of the highest order. To quote my favourite reply, it's the "gaslightiest gaslight I've ever been gaslit by".

The furlough system did not "save the economy". The economy was not saved. Rather, it was laid out on a stone table and slowly flayed with a sharpened flint.

We are all still living with the consequences of lockdown, not just in the UK but globally. The world over, hundreds of millions of people have been plunged into extreme poverty by so-called "anti-Covid measures".

Billions more are worse off, paying more for almost every product and service, and struggling in general.

It's important to remember this was the point.
