Israeli police and the IDF might be given the right to open fire on Palestinians who throw stones and Molotov cocktails. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also announced deployment of additional police to Jerusalem, the West Bank, and on a key highway.

Netanyahu called an emergency high-level security meeting on Wednesday to discuss the recent spike of "terror incidents" taking place within Jerusalem and on Road 443 connecting the capital Tel Aviv with the city of Modi'in, the Jerusalem Post reports.

The meeting was attended by top security officials, such as Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz, General Security Services head Yoram Cohen, and others.

PM Netanyahu told the gathering he is not going to tolerate rock and petrol-bomb attacks on a central road, or inside the city of Jerusalem.

Comment: The Palestinian people are starving, living in a crumbling infrastructure with very little access to hospitals and schools under an Israeli blockade. How the psychopathic leaders of Israel think that it's justifiable to kill anyone who protests such horrific conditions by throwing stones at the fascist police should be beyond anyone with a beating heart. Unfortunately, no one in the Israeli leadership appears to have a heart.

There seems to be a certain policy Western leaders pursue by not attending events that serve to unite the planet - the Sochi Olympics, the European Games in Baku, Moscow May 9 celebrations and now the Chinese WW2 victory parade, says political analyst Dmitry Babich.

China marked the 70th anniversary of the defeat of Japan in World War II by holding an enormous military parade on Thursday. Dozens of foreign leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, attended the event on Beijing's Tiananmen Square.

RT: This parade is a massive event. Over 80 per cent of the equipment displayed has never been seen before. What are your geopolitical implications and suggestions here?

Dmitry Babich: I think that the implications are clear - the Western world is missing. They say they don't want to participate in something that they call militaristic. But let's remember, China suffered tremendously during WWII. Three million Chinese soldiers died, and a great number of civilians which we still don't know. And the Japanese aggressors were driven out of China, not by prayers, but by tanks, artillery, soldiers. So I think that Chinese have the right to have a parade on this day. And this is the first parade that they have in 70 years to commemorate this day. Before, parades were only [held to mark] the establishment of People's Republic of China in 1949.

The Islamic State has issued a death warrant against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The fatwa, posted online on Monday by an IS-affiliated group called Al-Battar media foundation, comes after Turkey participated for the first time last Friday in US-led coalition airstrikes against the militant group.

The religious edict said to be written by Shaykh Abu Khabab al-Iraqi declares Erdogan an "apostate" for supporting and collaborating with the US in its campaign against "fellow Muslims". The authenticity of the statement cannot be independently verified,

Comment: Funny how ISIS is so upset that Turkey hasn't been bombing them enough, and has instead been focused on bombing Kurds in the region while mostly giving ISIS a free pass. Well, the Washington-Zionist axis sure are committed to getting Erdogan on the 'right side' of this war against Assad.

Islamic State (Isis), Syrian government forces, both sides in the conflict in eastern Ukraine and Saudi jets attacking targets in Yemen have all used cluster bombs and rockets banned by international treaty, according to an authoritative new report.

Sudan's armed forces have used cluster bombs and the devices have also been dropped on targets in Libya, it says.

British-made Tornado GR4 and Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft belonging to the Saudi air force have been deployed in attacks against Houthi rebel forces inYemen, but it is not known whether they were armed with cluster bombs.

The Ministry of Defence said in June that Britain had provided "precision-guided weapons" to the Saudi air force. It said: "The use of of these weapons is a matter for the Saudis, but we are assured that they will be used in compliance in international law."


Comment: When NATO can destroy entire nations on a whim 'compliance with international law' is an outright lie.

The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund is best known for its campaigning against landmines. The charity's chief executive, Andrew Purkis, told CNSNews.com Thursday that bomblets used in cluster bombs sometimes fail to explode and "act as landmines, threatening civilian life."

"There's a special kind of collateral damage that happens over time due to unexploded bomblets," Purkis said. "We find it very hard to reconcile that with the declared aims of the allies, who have said they are attempting to minimize civilian casualties." ...

"During Diana's lifetime, she showed great concern for the victims of landmines, and we try to carry that mission forward in the spirit of her work," Purkis said.

Former CIA director Petraeus urging U.S. to use Al-Qaeda to fight ISIS

Comment: So what Patraeus is saying below is that Al-Qaeda, which is supposedly the enemy of the U.S., is under their control and can be used how the U.S. wishes it to be used. This is essentially a tacit admission that Al-Qaeda, and by extension the Al-Nusra Front, was created by the U.S. government.


Former Army general and CIA director David Petraeus has been urging US officials to consider using the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Nusra Front to fight ISIS in Syria, The Daily Beast reported.

Petraeus has been discreetly urging US officials to consider using "moderate" members of Al-Nusra Front to fight Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in Syria, the website reported, citing four sources familiar with conversations - including one person who reportedly spoke to Petraeus directly.

The idea reportedly stems from Petraeus' experience in Iraq in 2007, when Washington persuaded Sunni militias to stop fighting with Al-Qaeda and work with the US military.

But the notion of joining forces with Al-Qaeda a mere 14 years after the group launched the 9/11 attacks did not sit well with most of the US officials interviewed by the website. In fact, The Daily Beast said the officials found the idea "politically toxic, near impossible to execute, and strategically risky."

Russia preparing for month of "intensive work" after taking over presidency of UN Security Council

Russia has taken its turn in the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council, preparing for a month of "intensive" work. Finding solutions to conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the war on terror will dominate the UNSC's September agenda.

Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, took over the rotating presidency of the UNSC (the Security Council of the United Nations) from the permanent representative of Nigeria, Uche Joy Ogwu, on Tuesday.

On September 2, Churkin, who has been Russia's UN envoy since 2006, will hold a briefing for UN member states in order to reveal the details of the September program for the 15-member Security Council.

In the spotlight will be an open ministerial meeting on September 30 regarding the maintenance of international peace and security.

The United States and the EU are now openly split over the issue whether or not the Minsk II agreement should be implemented in full, US author Eric Zuesse notes.

The Minsk II agreement has become an apple of discord between the US and the EU, American author and investigative historian Eric Zuesse emphasizes, adding that while the Ukrainian leader backed by the Obama administration continues to violate the accord, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande are insisting that the parties should fulfill the Minsk II provisions.

"On Friday, August 29th, this split became public concerning whether the Minsk II accords for ending the Ukrainian civil war should remain in force. Obama supports the view of Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, to violate the Minsk II accords, which would end it; the same day, Hollande and Merkel agreed with Russia's President Vladimir Putin, that the Minsk II agreement needs to be implemented in full," Zuesse underscored.

Comment: A so-called split between the US and the EU seems to be very superficial, since EU leadership has made it clear time and time again that they will entertain whatever the US-Zionist elite wants.

Hollywood actress Natalie Portman has created a controversy among the Jewish community. The Jerusalem Post published a report on Natalie Portman's comments regarding the Shoah (the Holocaust) from the Jewish education she received. The title of the report 'Natalie Portman: Holocaust is no more tragic than other genocides' from an interview with The Independent where she questioned her Jewish education she received that was solely focused on the Holocaust, disregarding every genocide that took place in history.

"In an interview with The Independent published on Friday, the American movie star questioned prominence given to Holocaust education at the expense of other mass murders" the report said. "I think a really big question the Jewish community needs to ask itself, is how much at the forefront we put Holocaust education. Which is, of course, an important question to remember and to respect, but not over other things" Portman said. Portman was not saying that the Holocaust is any more or less important than other human tragedies in history. There is no doubt that the Holocaust was a tragic crime against the Jewish people in Europe, but for an educational institution to ignore all other genocides is a disservice to its students.

The Israeli army should have shot a Palestinian family from the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh who saved an injured child from being arrested during the village's weekly demonstration against the illegal confiscation of their land, a minister said.

Israeli Minister of Culture Miri Regev said that the unarmed protesters should have been shot. Regev called on Defence Minister Moshe Ya'alon and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to change the army's policy on the use of live-fire because of the "humiliation" the soldier endured.


Comment: Humiliation?!?!! The poor soldier didn't get to arrest, detain, and probably torture another Palestinian child. This is the Israeli leadership mindset: that it's ok to shoot and kill unarmed people who are merely protesting the illegal theft of their land. We're supposed to never forget that the Holocaust happened to prevent it from repeating, but unfortunately it's happening again right now, by the Israelis against the Palestinians.


"We need to decide immediately that a soldier that is attacked is permitted to return fire. Period. I call on the minister of security to put an end to the humiliation and change the open fire regulations immediately!" Regev wrote in a Facebook statement.

"Anyone who tries to harm Israeli civilians and soldiers needs to know his blood is in his head," Regev continued, using a Hebrew expression to convey that the Palestinians who assaulted the soldier are fair game for shooting.

On Friday an Israeli soldier tried to detain 12-year-old Mohammed Tamimi, leading to a fierce scuffle with his mother, sister and aunt. The incident was captured on video by Bilal Tamimi, a local Palestinian journalist.
