In his statement to the House of Commons on 5th July, the British Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, stated the following:

"The use of chemical weapons anywhere is barbaric and inhumane. The decision taken by the Russian government to deploy these in Salisbury on March 4 was reckless and callous - there is no plausible alternative explanation to the events in March other than the Russian state was responsible. The eyes of the world are on Russia, not least because of the World Cup. It is now time the Russian state comes forward and explains exactly what has gone on."

Anyone with their wits about them will immediately notice the cognitive dissonance in Mr Javid's statement. On the one hand, he states that the Russian government took a decision to deploy chemical weapons in Salisbury on 4th March, 2018. This is an emphatic declaration, and implies that the British Government possesses irrefutable evidence that this is so. Then in the next breath, he states that there is "no plausible alternative". This is very much less than emphatic, and the word "plausible" implies that the British Government does not have irrefutable evidence to back up their claim.

This is not a subtle difference. It is the difference between suspecting something and knowing something. If you know something to be true, because you have the hard evidence to back it up, you don't use equivocal phrases like "no plausible alternative". You simply say, "here is the evidence to prove it beyond reasonable doubt." On the other hand, if you do not possess irrefutable evidence of something, as the weasel phrase "no plausible alternative" suggests, then you have no right to pronounce definitively on the matter, as Mr Javid felt fit to do.

Still, he's only the Home Secretary. You can't expect him to understand such petty legal concepts.

Journalist Glenn Greenwald has posted a photo of him and the renowned whistleblower Edward Snowden, saying he was happy to reunite with his "colleague in defense of press freedoms."

Both Snowden and Greenwald, smiling, are seen on what appears to be a selfie uploaded to journalist's Instagram account. The location has not been disclosed, but it is known the Intercept's co-founder appeared on Friday as a keynote speaker at Cybersecurity Congress in Moscow, where the famed whistleblower has been residing since 2013.

"So excited to reunite today with one of this generation's greatest whistleblowers and my colleague in defense of press freedoms, Edward Snowden," a caption to the photo reads.

Multiple reviews of whether FBI agents' political bias affected the Russia-Trump collusion case remain in their infancy, but investigators already have unearthed troubling internal communications long withheld from public view.

We already know from FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok's now-infamous text messages with his fellow agent and reported lover, Lisa Page, that Strzok - the man driving that Russia collusion investigation - disdained Donald Trump and expressed willingness to use his law enforcement powers to "stop" the Republican from becoming president.

The question that lingers, unanswered: Did those sentiments affect official actions?

In 2011, Dr. Saif was imprisoned illegally and suffered, along with his Libyan brothers and sisters, terrible atrocities committed by the terrorist mercenaries and Zionists puppets installed in Libya by the US, UN, UK, France and NATO. In June of 2017, Dr. Saif was found innocent of all charges and was given full amnesty by the legitimately elected government in Tobruk (House of Representatives). He was released by the Zintan tribe (who had been holding him) after a request from the Justice Ministry of the Tobruk government.

The Turkish government has adopted a decree in line with the state of the emergency regime, declared following the 2016 coup attempt, the official Resmi Gazete reported.

Turkey has announced the dismissal of another 18,632 people from the civil service over suspected links to the movement of Islamic cleric Fethullah Gulen, referred to as the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) by Ankara and accused of being behind the attempted coup.

According to the decree published on Sunday in the official Resmi Gazete, as many as 6,152 people have been discharged from the Turkish armed forces, including 3,077 people from the ground forces, 1,126 - from the naval forces, 1,949 - from the air force.

Further 8,998 employees have lost their posts in the country's security service, while 649 people were dismissed from their posts in the gendarmerie.

The decree has also dismissed a certain number of employees of the Turkish Justice Ministry (1,051), the Education Ministry (658), the Directorate of Religious Affairs (240), the Foreign Ministry (38) and state universities (199).

Besides, the decree ordered shut down of 12 public organizations, three newspapers, and a TV channel.

Bored stupid by having to smile for millions of foreigners enjoying the 2018 Football World Cup, the Russians last week schemed to - once again - lash out at poor old England by poisoning two more people with their dastardly 'Novichok' nerve agent. The incident came just before the OPCW released an interim report on the alleged chemical attack on Douma earlier this year (that the West used to justify firing cruise missiles at targets near Damascus and Aleppo). The report stated that no evidence of chemical weapons were found.

If you think these events are both bonkers and a little too convenient, that's because they are.

Twitter is cracking down on fake accounts - and Trump has suggestions as to which accounts to axe, accusing the New York Times and the Washington Post of peddling fake news. He added that both papers will shut within seven years.

With a full schedule on the horizon - the NATO summit in Brussels, a working visit to the UK and talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki - some may assume one of the most powerful men in the world would be busy preparing for the weeks ahead. Instead, the Don is posting on Twitter, taking aim at his favorite target - the media.

"Will that include the Failing New York Times and propaganda machine for Amazon, the Washington Post, who constantly quote anonymous sources that, in my opinion, don't exist. - They will both be out of business in 7 years!" he posted.

Two US destroyers, the USS Mustin and the USS Benfold, have passed through the narrow waterway separating mainland China from Taiwan. The maneuvers come as an unraveling trade spat ramps up tension between Washington and Beijing.

The US warships entered the Taiwan Strait on Saturday and were still in the waterway as of Saturday night, Taiwan's defense ministry reported.

Taiwan, which has grown closer to the US under the Trump administration, said that its military "is monitoring the situation in neighboring areas, and has the confidence and abilities to maintain regional stability and defend national security."

That's right: Hillary Clinton is running for president again in 2020. She has actually ramped up her campaign since her defeat in 2016! From her Twitter feed to university speeches to appearances abroad - from Ireland to Australia to India - the "I'm with her" campaign continues. The message remains the same: Donald Trump is racist and sexist, and his supporters are deplorable. Hillary also continues to preach that she won the 2016 popular vote by 3,000,000 votes, but because of the electoral college (that damn Constitution thing) and RussiaRussiaRussia, she was robbed of her rightful prize and place in history.

Her Path to the Nomination

Hillary has a highly plausible path to the Democratic Party nomination, something no other potential Democrat candidate for president can say. In the primaries, Hillary Clinton's name recognition and loyal voters would earn her an easy 25% of the vote, while the anti-Hillary vote would split among as many as ten other candidates at about 5-10% each. This is not dissimilar to what Trump accomplished on the Republican side in 2016. With a solid base of supporters, Trump was able to win primary after primary while the others split the vote. Each time someone dropped out, Trump picked up about half of his supporters, with the other half disbursed among the other candidates. This is a realistic path for Hillary to gain the Democrat nomination, and it is no doubt irresistible to her.

Hillary is the only potential Democrat with big money-raising potential and an existing fundraising mechanism. That mechanism has been in place for 30 years! Hillary also has as much as $1 billion in Clinton Foundation donations stashed away for just such a rainy day. You didn't really think all that Russian oligarch money was sent to hungry children in Haiti, did you?

Hillary knows that the MSM will not only not criticize her for running in 2020, but celebrate her campaign because "she has unfinished business." Hillary also knows that the MSM will repeat her talking points ad nauseam, as in "the 2016 election was stolen by the Russians" and "she's doing this for women to break the glass ceiling" as they serve up $10 billion in free earned media. In addition, MSM journalists want jobs in the Hillary Clinton administration and won't risk her famous wrath if she wins.
