Analysts loyal to President Robert Mugabe have lined up to described the murder of former Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi as a return to what they called the dark days of imperialism and slavery where captured victims were treated with disrespect and in a dehumanising manner.

They castigated the total disregard of international law that was displayed by NATO in the killing of Gaddafi.

The West has wildly celebrated the death of Colonel Gaddafi.

While the demise of the former Libyan leader is a victory for the West, what is sad is that Africans have also blindly joined the bandwagon.

Zimbabwean analysts say the manner in which Colonel Gaddafi was killed is a return to the dark days of slavery and imperialism.

Political Scientist, Professor Jonathan Moyo said the way in which the former Libyan leader was dragged around on the streets, kicked, punched and undressed was barbaric and brutal.

In an analyst note, Bofa/ML Ethan S. Harris drops a bit of a bombshell prediction:

We expect a moderate slowdown in the beginning of next year, as two small policy shocks - another debt downgrade and fiscal tightening - hit the economy. The "not-so-super" Deficit Commission is very unlikely to come up with a credible deficit-reduction plan. The committee is more divided than the overall Congress. Libya's new rulers declared the country freed from Muammar Gaddafi's 42 years of one-man rule Sunday, saying the "Pharaoh of the times" was now in history's garbage bin and a future of democracy and postwar reconciliation beckoned.

But as thousands gathered in the second city Benghazi to hear authorities announce "liberation," Gaddafi's rotting body remained unburied and on show to locals wearing masks against the stench in a cold store in Misrata, a situation that may vex some Muslims for whom rapid burial of the dead is a duty.

There was no direct reference to what some outsiders saw as Misrata's ghoulish display in a speech by National Transitional Council (NTC) chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil, who kneeled in prayer after taking the podium in Benghazi.

He renewed an earlier promise to uphold Islamic law.

"All the martyrs, the civilians and the army had waited for this moment. But now they are in the best of places ... eternal heaven," he said, shaking hands with supporters.

Some fear Jalil, a mild-mannered former justice minister, will find it hard to impose his will on his fractious revolutionary alliance, pointing to Misrata's insistence on displaying Gaddafi's body and that of his son Mo'tassim and to the lack of a clear account about how they met their end.

There is international disquiet about increasingly graphic and disturbing images on the Internet of abuse of a body that appears to be Gaddafi's following his capture and the fall of his hometown of Sirte Thursday.

The long, strange tale of Moammar Gaddafi is at an end, after the former Libyan leader was shot and killed in his hometown of Sirte Thursday.

At the hospital, Libyan officials ran a number of tests, including on hair samples for DNA, to prove the identity of the dictator who had been on the run for the last two months. The hair was not Moammar Gaddafi's. The slain leader was wearing a wig.

Libya's interim prime minister, Mahmoud Jibril, told The Washington Post's Mary Beth Sheridan in an interview that Gaddafi was discovered by revolutionary fighters hiding in "a big pipe of the sewage system." He was shot when a gunfight broke out between his security detail and the Libyan fighters. At a hospital in Misurata, samples of Gaddafi's DNA, blood, hair and saliva were taken and analyzed to confirm the body was actually Gaddafi.

The hair "turned out to be a wig," said the prime minister.

Case in point is the Obama administration's solar power loan guarantee program. Not one of the loans made since 2009 have proven successful. The most costly failure, as of now, is Solyndra at $535 million. After Solyndra received its loan it laid off 1100 workers and filed for bankruptcy, in which it had the government (Department of Energy) restructure the loan to put the taxpayers behind the bus, losing US taxpayers $535 million.

Before that, Spectrawatt went belly up and we lost $500,000. Spectrawatt was one of 13 companies given grants. How many are still in business is anyone's guess. We can't even find a list on the Internet.

All this has not satisfied the Obama energy department headed up by Dr. Chu. On the last days of availability he doled out another $4 billion. The question now is, is it even possible to run printing presses fast enough to keep up with Obama's insane spending? More astutely, how did Solyndra wind up with all that money? Seems that a review of the George Kaiser Family Foundation shows it was the grantor of $10,000 to the Urban Health Initiative at the University of Chicago Medical Center, the very place where Michelle Obama was employed, at a salary of almost a quarter-million dollars per year, after her husband became a federal senator and had siphoned a massive federal grant to the same institution.

These are dangerous times.

The state terrorist regimes in Israel, Saudi Arabia and Washington are madly pushing for world war three in the Middle East. If fought to the very end, this war will bring down many nations. Israel, America, and Iran will all be destroyed.

How is this being done? How is public opinion being manufactured for a new war? We have a better sense of what's happening this time because the build-up to the Iraq War still remains fresh in our minds.

The biggest thing to notice is that new bullet points in the psychological war are being pumped daily into the global public mind by Israel, Washington, and Saudi Arabia.

Major responsible for stopping drug smuggling from Egypt suspected of transferring confiscated heroin, hashish to Israeli dealers.

An IDF commander with the rank of Major has been arrested for allegedly heading a drug ring, responsible for selling heroin and hashish smuggled into Israel from Egypt.

The officer was arrested three weeks ago along with nine other suspects, including a Border Police commander according to Israeli media reports, but the Tel Aviv Magistrates' Court had placed a media ban on the case, which was partially lifted on Sunday.

The Central Unit of the Tel Aviv District Police began investigating the case in August when Dan Region Police stopped a vehicle containing 17 kilograms of hashish and thousands of Ecstasy pills.

The investigation uncovered the involvement of an IDF commander, serving in the Southern Command and charged with confiscating drugs in the case.

Police believe that ,with the help of an accomplice, the IDF commander passed drugs confiscated on the Egyptian border to dealers in Israel.

Kabul, Afghanistan - Afghan President Hamid Karzai has said if the United States and Pakistan ever went to war, his country would back Islamabad, drawing a sharp rebuke Sunday from Afghan lawmakers who claimed the country's top officials were adopting hypocritical positions.

The scenario is exceedingly unlikely and appears to be less a serious statement of policy than an Afghan overture to Pakistan, just days after Karzai and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Islamabad must do more to crack down on militants using its territory as a staging ground for attacks on Afghanistan.

"If fighting starts between Pakistan and the U.S., we are beside Pakistan," Karzai said is an interview with private Pakistani television station GEO that aired Saturday. "If Pakistan is attacked and the people of Pakistan need Afghanistan's help, Afghanistan will be there with you."

He said that Kabul would not allow any nation, including the U.S., to dictate its policies.

Both Washington and Kabul have repeatedly said Pakistan is providing sanctuary to militant groups launching attacks in Afghanistan.

A report has revealed that all the fighter jets purchased by Turkey from the US have been rendered impotent against Israel.

In a recent article published in the Turkish newspapers, Milligazete, Turkey's former ambassador to the US and Japan Sukru M. Elekdag pointed to a system called IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) that is loaded on planes sold by the US.

The system can identify friend and enemy targets including planes and warships from long distances. It is also capable of firing missiles automatically.

According to Elekdag, the US gives IFF system codes only to Israel, however, Turkey's fighter jets have a version of the program that identifies Israeli targets as friends by default.

The barefaced lie about Gadaffi being killed in the crossfire bodes ill for the openness, transparency and good government we can expect to see now in Libya. But today I am worrying about the effect on our society of human death as entertainment. I have never been an apologist for Gadaffi, but if his regime tortured and murdered, the remedy is not to torture and murder him - even the Nazis were given due process.

This murder is becoming the norm. It was a NATO air strike which took out Gadaffi's escaping convoy and first wounded him. Two days ago two teenage sons of Anwar al-Awlaki, the radical US/Yemeni cleric executed without trial last week, were executed by a US drone attack as they had dinner. They were aged 16 and 19. They had committed no crime I can find alleged against them. There has been no publicity.

All this killing brings triumphalist politicians smirking on our screens. We seem to have become as dehumanised as ancient Rome. Little human pity is expressed for the way Gadaffi was killed - indeed there is notably less media reflection of pity or revulsion than there was at the (at least judicial) hanging of Saddam Hussein. Is that a measure of the descent into bloodlust barbarism in our society? The complete lack of empathy towards the traveller families being torn from their homes at Dale Farm is part of the same brutalism towards "the other". Why don't we go the whole way and have them eaten by lions in the ring?

History shows that bloody appetite once aroused feeds upon itself. We have already had Defence Secretary Hammond on Sky News today positing NATO action now against Syria, while the current US proto-pretext for attacking Iran - the fantasy plot against the Saudi Ambassador - is as believable as Gadaffi's death in the crossfire.
