Just like Obama and Trump: Biden embraces Goldman Sachs bankers after Electoral College win

Goldman Sachs • Joe Biden
Despite spending the campaign season painting himself as the anti-Trump, Democratic President-elect Joe Biden has further followed in his predecessor's footsteps, appointing not one but two Goldman Sachs alums to his cabinet.

Ex-Goldman banker Eric Goldstein, who worked on the investment bank's Merchant Banking division for nearly two decades, will join Biden's Homeland Security Review Team, Politico revealed on Monday. His erstwhile colleague Monica Maher - currently vice president of cyber threat intelligence at Goldman Sachs - has been appointed to the National Security Council Review Team.

The timing of the appointments is auspicious, coinciding with the Electoral College vote to officially certify Biden's victory. While it's not clear whether the Biden team deliberately chose to swear fealty to the bank that has become a byword for neoliberal excess after it was too late for electors to change their minds, coziness with Goldman Sachs has proven an unwieldy albatross necklace for several of Biden's predecessors.

Comment: Cookie-cutter politics win again. The ingredients are the same: cronyism, nepotism and greed.

Dominion lobbyists paid McConnell thousands before he crushed election integrity bills and ignored election contests

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) quashed two election integrity bills in July last year after receiving thousands in donations from Dominion lobbyists.

In July, McConnell blocked two bills, one that would provide $775 million to "bolster election security," along with requiring a physical paper trail of every single ballot cast in the country, and a second that would mandate political candidates, their staff members, and their families, to notify the FBI if any foreign government offered to assist them.

"Clearly this request is not a serious effort to make a law. Clearly something so partisan that it only received one single solitary Republican vote in the House is not going to travel through the Senate by unanimous consent," said McConnell on the Senate floor, as he refused to allow the bills to be put to a vote.

However, within the previous year, multiple lobbyists representing Dominion Voting Systems and Election Systems and Software, who together make up around 80% of all voting machines in the country, donated thousands of dollars to the McConnell campaign.

Comment: McConnell recapped the 'Trump effect' and his achievements:
McConnell's congratulatory remarks came after a lengthy speech on President Trump's accomplishments since 2016, which he described as "nearly endless" — emphasizing the confirmation of three Supreme Court justices. "It would take far more than one speech" to catalogue Trump's "wins," McConnell said.

Shortly after McConnell's remarks, Trump shared a Breitbart article on Twitter quoting Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) saying, "'Trump Won the Electoral College' --- I Can Be a Part of the 'Surrender Caucus' or I Can Fight for Our Country."
McConnell's remarks begin at 3:20 and end at 13:15.

How the MSM edited and responded:

Nary a word on McConnell's recap of the president's accomplishments.

Left and Right unite in calls for Snowden pardon amid speculation of a Trump decision

Amid mounting speculation that President Trump is about to announce a list of presidential pardons, calls for — and against — NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden's name to be included are growing louder.

In November, as is customary, Donald Trump pardoned a turkey for Thanksgiving. Now, in the lame duck session of his presidency, he appears to be making a customary list of people to pardon as well. Influential and well-connected publication Axios reported, in a scandalized tone, that he is planning to hand out pardons "like Christmas gifts" to "every person who ever talked to [him]."

In August, the president was asked about Snowden specifically, responding by saying that, "I'm going to take a very good look at it. I've seen people that are very conservative and very liberal and they agree on the same issue...I'm going to take a look at that very strongly."

MSNBC's Dr. Gupta: 'Just because you get vaccinated doesn't mean you should be traveling or that you're liberated from masks'

Dr. Vin Gupta

It was never about a virus.

MSNBC's Dr. Vin Gupta on Tuesday said that just because you've been vaccinated doesn't mean you're allowed to travel or walk around without a face mask on.

President Trump launched "Operation Warp Speed" earlier this year in an effort to produce a safe and effective Covid vaccine by the end of 2020.
At the Operation Warp Speed vaccine Summit last week, Trump said:
"We're here to discuss a monumental national achievement. From the instant the coronavirus invaded our shores, we raced into action to develop a safe and effective vaccine at breakneck speed. It would normally take five years, six years, seven years, or even more. In order to achieve this goal, we harnessed the full power of government, the genius of American scientists, and the might of American industry to save millions and millions of lives all over the world. We're just days away from authorization from the FDA, and we're pushing them hard, at which point we will immediately begin mass distribution,"

Comment: As the first sentence of this text says, it was never about the virus. It was always about total control, obedience and enslavement of the people. Psychopathic elites used the virus with a survival rate of 99.9998% as a reason to install totalitarian rule on the entire planet. Of course, all this because they care about our health, and for our own good.

Texas electors condemn Supreme Court, call on battleground states to name alternate electors

Ken Mercer of San Antonio, Texas casts his Electoral College vote in the House Chamber.
Texas members of the Electoral College on Monday called on state legislatures in four battleground states carried by President-elect Joe Biden to appoint alternative slates of electors.

The Texas electors passed the resolution, which also slammed the U.S. Supreme Court for dismissing a Texas challenge to presidential election results, after casting all 38 of their votes for President Donald Trump.

Trump won 52.1% of the Texas vote to 46.5% for Biden and thus was expected to win the state electoral college vote. Trump, however, lost several key states, giving the national Electoral College victory to Biden.

On Friday, the Supreme Court turned away an effort by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to block Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin from certifying President-elect Joe Biden's victory. A resolution authored by elector Mark Ramsey, an oil and gas engineer, condemned the court and criticized the election as a "clearly unconstitutional process."

The Hunter Biden criminal probe supports a Chinese scholar's claim about Beijing's influence with the Biden administration

Hunter Biden acknowledged today that he has been notified of an active criminal investigation into his tax affairs by the U.S. Attorney for Delaware. Among the numerous prongs of the inquiry, CNN reports, investigators are examining "whether Hunter Biden and his associates violated tax and money laundering laws in business dealings in foreign countries, principally China."

Documents relating to Hunter Biden's exploitation of his father's name to enrich himself and other relatives through deals with China were among the cache published in the week before the election by The New York Post — revelations censored by Twitter and Facebook and steadfastly ignored by most mainstream news outlets. That concerted repression effort by media outlets and Silicon Valley left it to right-wing outlet such as Fox News and The Daily Caller to report, which in turn meant that millions of Americans were kept in the dark before voting.

The "overwhelming" turnout for Joe Biden's campaign speech on behalf of Warnock and Ossoff
Where are the people? This Guy Got 81 Million Votes?

Joe Biden, the most popular and charismatic Democrat in world history, is holding a parking lot rally for Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon.

Here is Pratt Pullman Yards in Atlanta where the rally is being held today.

It looks like a condemned building.

Joe Biden Defeated by His Teleprompter Again - Calls Jon Ossoff "Jon Orsoff"

78-year-old Joe Biden held a parking lot rally for Georgia Senate Democrat candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon.

The corrupt Democrat machine in Georgia is currently working to steal the twin senate runoff and take control of senate.

Since Joe Biden is the most popular and charismatic Democrat in world history, only a few of his supporters showed up.

More Trump supporters showed up to the Democrat rally.

Joe Biden sounded hoarse as he yelled into the microphone on Tuesday.

Biden got defeated by his teleprompter...AGAIN and called Jon Ossoff "Jon Orsoff." And we're supposed to believe this idiot got 81 million votes.

GOP Sen. Johnson says experts must examine and investigate Dominion Voting Systems

Sen Ron Johnson
Johnson said Tuesday that he has not seen 'anything that would convince me that the results -- the overall national result -- would be overturned'

At a Senate oversight committee hearing on Wednesday, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) said that experts must be given the opportunity to examine and investigate the Dominion Voting Systems machines used during the 2020 presidential election.

"The most difficult allegations to assess involve vulnerabilities in voting machines and the software used," said Johnson during his opening statement. "In order to effectively determine the extent to which voting machines were subject to nefarious intrusion or other vulnerabilities, computer science experts must be given the opportunity to examine these allegations," he continued.

Johnson cited letters from his Democratic colleagues that questioned the safety and security of Dominion Voting System machines.

Ranking committee member Senator Gary Peters (D-Mich.) told Johnson that he believes Wednesday's hearing provides a fundamentally dangerous opportunity provide "a platform to conspiracy theories and lies."

"I don't see anything dangerous about evaluating information, about doing legitimate congressional oversight. Close-mindedness is a real problem for a lot of issues we face today," responded Johnson.

McConnell jumps ship: Defies Trump, seeks to squelch Republican congress bid to overturn election results

Mitch McConnell

“The Electoral College has spoken. So today, I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden,” Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, said on Tuesday.
Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, congratulated President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. and pleaded with Republicans privately not to join an effort by House members to throw out the results.

Breaking with President Trump's drive to overturn his election loss, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky on Tuesday congratulated President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. on his victory and began a campaign to keep fellow Republicans from joining a doomed last-ditch effort to reverse the outcome in Congress.

Although Mr. McConnell waited until weeks after Mr. Biden was declared the winner to recognize the outcome, his actions were a clear bid by the majority leader, who is the most powerful Republican in Congress, to put an end to his party's attempts to sow doubt about the election.

Comment: Of course the NYTimes, being the rag-of-record, is spinning McConnell as a sage of reasonableness and Trump a petulant sore loser. Note the names of the weasel Republicans mentioned. They are likely to get trounced the next time they are up for election.

Mandatory unconscious bias training dropped by UK government: Experts say it makes people MORE prejudiced

Britain parliament building
© Agence France-Presse/John D McHugh
The woke brigade have suffered a setback on their long march through our institutions, as compulsory civil service courses in this identitarian drivel are axed after a study revealed they can reinforce 'unhelpful stereotypes'.

Good news is rare these days but we can all take heart from the government's move to scrap all that unconscious bias training across the civil service on very simple grounds: it doesn't work.

In fact, according to a Behavioural Insights Team study commissioned by the Government Equalities Office, it can actually make people's prejudices even worse.

Think of the damage this needless training may have caused to those poor Whitehall workers. As Cabinet Office Minister Julia Lopez pointed out when announcing an end to the mandatory courses, "Instructions to suppress stereotypes may not only activate and reinforce unhelpful stereotypes, they may provoke negative reactions and actually make people exacerbate their biases."
