Israel prepares for 'Capitol-style' attack on Knesset after election

Security agencies fear that January's events at the US Capitol, which was stormed by Donald Trump's supporters after the election, may repeat themselves at the Knesset and are training to avert such a scenario, local media said.

Tensions are running high as the Israelis are expected to go to the polls for the fourth time in two years on Tuesday.

The Knesset Guard and security agencies are even considering the possibility that those unhappy with the results of the vote may try attacking the Israeli legislature in West Jerusalem.

The scenario, which resembles the Capitol siege, was one of several included in the election day preparations of the security forces, Israeli Channel 13 reported.

Comment: The state of discontent on our planet is evident by the increasing number of protests of all kinds, and, in turn, some politicians appear to be using this as an opportunity to clamp down and seize further security powers:

Anonymous US officials claim intel of Iran threatening US Army base and key American general

Public of Iran has made threats about an Army base located in Washington D.C., and against Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Joseph Martin, according to a report citing two unnamed senior intelligence officials.

According to the Associated Press, the sources said that the National Security Agency in January intercepted communications that revealed the Iranian Revolutionary Guard communicating about "USS Cole-style attacks" targeting Fort McNair, a reference to a 2000 suicide attack in which a small vessel blew up next to a Navy ship, resulting in the deaths of 17 sailors.

"The intelligence also revealed threats to kill Gen. Joseph M. Martin and plans to infiltrate and surveil the base, according to the officials, who were not authorized to publicly discuss national security matters and spoke on condition of anonymity," the outlet reported.

Comment: The official story surrounding Soleimani's assassination is not all as it seems, and that may also be the case with the above anonymous leak; because it's possible that it tells us more about the US demonizing Iran and hyping up a war stance than about official Iranian plans:

Mass federalization: How Washington is bailing out failed states, decapitating competitive ones and ending America as you knew it

The Capitol
An astonishingly sweeping, radical movement to level cities and states is underway, propping up the failures and pounding down those that have been successful. Most everything is being federalized. The role of cities and states as we have known them - as laboratories of democracy - is being eviscerated. It's being financed by both the United States Treasury and the Federal Reserve bank, which are now joined at the hip in fiscal profligacy.

Much of it is proceeding under the false labels of pandemic relief and fiscal stimulus. It's happening at such a rapid pace that the paper of record for government overreach, The Washington Post, fears that "the sheer volume of new programs threatens to swamp federal agencies."

It's a fundamental and historic remake of America, though its impact hasn't yet come close to sinking in. Some of the numbers that follow seem beyond belief, but they are real. If claiming that pending legislation will destroy America as you know it seems like exaggeration, read on to see what its supporters say, because it's their commentary that is most revealing.

If Israel accuses Iran of doing something, Israel is likely already doing it

Israel has accused Iran of doing many nefarious things. But the historical record shows that whatever Israel accuses Iran of, it is likely that Israel is already doing it.

For example, Israel has repeatedly accused Iran of destabilizing the region by malignantly spreading across the region and forming alliances and exercising influence in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.

But Israel is spreading across the region by forming alliances and exercising influence across the region. With varying degrees of formality and publicity, Israel has expanded its network and formed alliances with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco. And this Israeli spread has been destabilizing both in terms of increasing weapons in the region and legitimizing and solidifying occupations.

The agreement between Israel and the UAE meant F-35 fighter jets, Reaper drones and EA-18G Growler jets that are capable of jamming enemy air defenses for the UAE and a large weapons package for Israel in compensation, potentially including combat helicopters, advanced communications satellites, bunker buster bombs, F-35s, KC-46A tanker aircrafts that are capable of refueling many aircrafts simultaneously and V-22 aircrafts that can transform from helicopter to airplane.

Overwhelming surge has CBP planning to release migrants into US WITHOUT court date: Report

U.S. Border Patrol agents keep watch on a large group of migrants near the Mexican border in El Paso, Texas.
Customs and Border Protection authorities are reportedly set to release migrants who crossed into the country illegally into the United States without a court date.

The move, which would focus on illegal immigrants in Texas's Rio Grande Valley, would send individuals into U.S. cities without first obtaining a Notice to Appear, according to Fox News, which cited a senior CBP source. The onus on securing a court date would fall on the migrants themselves, and the situation has purportedly "become so dire that BP [Border Patrol] has no choice but to release people nearly immediately after apprehension because there is no space to hold people even to do necessary NTA paperwork," the official said.

The Rio Grande Valley is grappling with a surge in immigration and its facilities are at 700% capacity as migrants have flooded the U.S.-Mexico border since President Biden assumed office in mid-January.

Comment: More members of Congress are becoming critical of the Biden administration's handling of its self-created crisis:
"I know on the border. When I was chairman of Homeland Security, and as a federal prosecutor down here - it's going to get worse. It's going to get a lot worse. Springtime, summer, more and more come over," Rep. Michael McCaul said Sunday on ABC News' This Week. "I predict a million people trying to get into this country by the summertime."

Biden administration officials said they are discouraging migrants against making the dangerous trek to the border but said they will not turn back the thousands of unaccompanied children that are overwhelming federal facilities.

McCaul said fault for the situation rests solely with President Biden.

"I think they've created the crisis," McCaul said. "He says he has a plan. I haven't seen a plan."

"This is a humanitarian crisis. We see the children and the babies. We're going back to separation of families, and the traffickers are separating the children from the families, and we're going back to catch release, and we're going back to kids in cages all over again," he continued.

Russian FM laments Biden's refusal to debate Putin, places blame for poor state of US-Russia relations on Washington

US President Joe Biden • Russian President Vladimir Putin
The US missed an opportunity to end the deadlock in relations between Washington and Moscow by refusing Russian President Vladimir Putin's offer of a live-streamed discussion between himself and his US counterpart, Joe Biden.

That's according to a statement from Russia's Foreign Ministry after the White House rejected a suggestion by Putin for an online chat about a wide range of issues important for the bilateral relationship, such as Covid-19 and regional conflict resolution.
"We regret to state that the United States did not support the proposal to hold a conversation on either March 19 or 22, in the format of an open-ended video conference. Another opportunity has been missed to find a way out of the impasse in US-Russian relations caused by Washington."
It concluded by firmly placing the blame for a breakdown in bilateral relations on the Americans.

Comment: One brief conversation (or its facsimile) seems to be all that's necessary to allay Biden's diplomatic concerns. (And, he can check 'insulting Russia's Head of State' off his short list. Done!)

Trump to launch new social media platform in next couple months after meeting with companies

Former US President Donald Trump
Former President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing to launch his own social media platform in the next couple of months after hosting numerous meetings with companies at Mar-a-Lago.

An adviser to Trump made the revelation on Sunday during an interview on Fox News's "MediaBuzz" with host Howard Kurtz. Jason Miller claimed:
"The fact the president's been off of social media for a while because his press releases, his statements have actually been getting almost more play than he ever did on Twitter before. I'm not sure if that's because the length of them are a bit longer. [We] even had one reporter say that she thought it was much more elegant, the way that the president was able to communicate his thoughts and very much looked more presidential in that longer form.

"But I do think that we're going to see President Trump returning to social media in probably about two or three months here with his own platform. And this is something that I think will be the the hottest ticket in social media. It's going to completely redefine the game and everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what exactly President Trump does. But it will be his own platform."
Miller said Trump has had "a lot of high-powered meetings" at Mar-a-Lago with "numerous companies" about creating a platform that he hopes will bring in "tens of millions of people."

Israel revokes permit of Palestinian foreign minister

Riyad Malki, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Palestinian National Authority
Israel on Sunday revoked the VIP permit of the Palestinian foreign minister after he returned to the West Bank from a trip to the International Criminal Court in the Hague, Israeli and Palestinian officials confirmed. The move appeared to be Israeli retaliation for Palestinian support for the ICC's war crimes investigation against Israel.

A Palestinian official said Foreign Minister Riad Malki was stopped Sunday as he entered the West Bank from Jordan through the Israeli-controlled crossing. Malki's VIP card was seized, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was discussing a sensitive diplomatic issue. Losing the VIP status makes it harder for him to move through Israeli military checkpoints in the West Bank, and traveling abroad will require Israeli permission.

Israeli officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter, confirmed the incident, but directed questions to the Shin Bet security agency, which declined comment. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office declined comment.

The ICC's chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda announced earlier this month that she was opening an investigation into possible war crimes by Israel committed in the occupied West Bank and blockaded Gaza Strip.

Comment: The actions taken against Malki may be only the beginning of Israel's pathocratic fight against investigation. Israel likely sees it as a process of 'elimination'.

Alejandro Mayorkas says border is closed but children won't be expelled

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has insisted the border was not facing a crisis.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday insisted the Biden administration has "closed" the border with Mexico to migrant families — yet said they will not turn back unaccompanied children.

Mayorkas said on NBC News' Meet the Press.
"Our message has been straightforward and simple. And it's true, the border is closed. We are expelling families. We are expelling single adults. And we've made a decision that we will not expel young, vulnerable children. I think we are executing on our plans."
But he was pressed by host Chuck Todd who questioned whether parents in Mexico and Central America are looking at that policy and thinking their children have a better chance of getting in the US if they try to cross the border alone. The secretary said:
"We have a short-term plan, a medium-term plan and a long-term plan, and the president and I have spoken to this repeatedly. Please remember something: That [former] President [Donald] Trump dismantled the orderly, humane and efficient way of allowing children to make their claims under United States law in their home countries."
Mayorkas said the administration is trying to rebuild those policies.

Comment: The success of the Trump policies at the border was epic, once all the mechanisms were in place. Biden could have ridden on his coattails and not reengaged this ballooning problem. Instead it chose to vilify what was working in order to grandstand its politics. Now it appears he is backpedaling by restricting information and access for the media.

Saudi Arabia presented a new peace initiative on Monday to end the war in Yemen, including a nationwide ceasefire and the reopening of air and sea links, but its Houthi enemies said the offer did not appear to go far enough to lift a blockade.

The initiative, announced by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, would include reopening Sanaa airport, and allow fuel and food imports through Hodeidah port, both of which are controlled by the Iran-aligned Houthis.

Political negotiations between the Saudi-backed government and the Houthis would be restarted, he told a news conference, It would take effect when the Yemeni sides accepted.
