Puppet Masters
Andrew Giuliani, a conservative commentator for Newsmax, told reporters in New York City that "any American, whether you are red or blue, should be extremely disturbed by what happened here today by the continued politicization of the Justice Department."
"If this can happen to the former president's lawyer," he added, "this can happen to any American." He further suggested that the Department of Justice is not "independent of politics."
Joe Biden was caught in yet another embarrassing public gaffe as he panicked about losing his face mask during a speech to supporters in Georgia.
Biden was seen wearing his mask before he delivered the remarks but maybe should have kept it on given that he coughed and spluttered at several moments throughout his 20 minute address.
When Biden invited Democrat Sens. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to join him on stage, the first lady pointed at her own mask in an effort to remind Biden to put his back on.
Comment: Others noticed the gaffe and started asking questions, via RT:
Americans on social media were quick to question why Biden even needed a mask since the president was both fully vaccinated and outside.See also: Biden recklessly says it's a patriotic responsibility for vaccinated people to wear masks
According to new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), vaccinated Americans "can gather or conduct activities outdoors without wearing a mask except in certain crowded settings and venues." Biden also shared the news in a maskless address this week, telling Americans that if they're "fully vaccinated," "outdoors," and "not in a big crowd, you no longer need to wear a mask."
Though Thursday's Georgia event could be considered a crowded setting, there were just four people on the stage with Biden - the First Lady and Georgia Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, who were all wearing their own masks.
"Excuse me, but why are all these dweebs wearing masks outside? I thought Biden decreed that vaccinated citizens no longer have to mask up outdoors?" tweeted one conservative social media user, while Biden was also mocked by Republican Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs and others.
A screenshot of Biden in a virtual climate meeting between world leaders last week went viral after it showed him to be the only leader at that moment wearing a face mask. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Biden wore the mask to send a "message" to the world and also because there were others with him in the room at the time.
Europe's economies have been set back by a renewed surge in infections this year and Covid-related restrictions.
The eurozone shrank by 0.6% in the January-to-March period - the second consecutive contraction, which is a widely-used definition of a recession.
It is the second such episode, a so-called double-dip recession, since the onset of the pandemic.

The United States' national flag is seen on the building of the US Embassy in Novinsky Boulevard in central Moscow, Russia.
In a Friday press release, the embassy announced that, effective May 12, it will only offer emergency US citizen services, and "a very limited number of age-out and life or death emergency immigrant visas."
"Embassy Moscow will not offer routine notarial services, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, or renewal passport services for the foreseeable future," the statement explained.
The White House confirmed that the exit had begun on Thursday night, with deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre telling reporters on Air Force One that "a drawdown is underway."
"Potential adversaries should know that if they attack us in our withdrawal, we will defend ourselves, [and] our partners, with all the tools at our disposal," she said, adding that the American presence would temporarily grow before a final pullout.

Haidilao restaurant with 60+ surveillance cameras installed
Ryan Pan, a manager with Haidilao Hot Pot in Vancouver confirmed that over 60 surveillance cameras have been installed in the restaurant at the request of the Haidilao corporation, as part of the social credit system in China. He said that the Vancouver location has 30 tables with two cameras assigned to each table.
When asked specifically why Haidilao required so many cameras to monitor staff and patrons, Ryan Pan said that the cameras were installed to "punish" staff if they didn't adhere to corporate standards and to "people track". Pan also said that the video is sent back to China but declined to say why this was, other than to say the reason for this was "secret."
This has absolutely no basis in science.
Comment: It's all about selling the public on vaccinations and that remains the compelling reason Biden will not slip the mask. He mentions it 23 times in his recent press conference:

President Biden is also expected to put Power on the White House National Security Council, where she served during Obama's first term.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee advanced Power's nomination earlier this month by a voice vote. But she faced questions during her confirmation hearing about the surge of migrants along the U.S.-Mexico border and about her previous support for military intervention in Syria and Libya.
Power — a former war correspondent, activist and academic — is reentering public office with a focus on soft power. As the head of USAID, she'll oversee the distribution of billions of dollars in foreign aid.
She'll also likely have sway on Biden's broader foreign policy, an area where she played a key role during the Obama administration. Biden, in a video announcing Power as his nominee, said she would "ensure our development agenda is a core pillar of our foreign policy."
If my last article was anything to go by, I was quite impressed by Republican Senator Tim Scott's rebuttal to Joe Biden. Scott came across as a man with a plan, and the knowledge to execute it. One element of his speech that he emphasized was the idea that America is not a racist country. He has stated that he had experienced racism before, but he was not going to label the entire nation that way just because of some bad experiences.
It seems the political left objected to that and, to prove Tim Scott wrong, they decided to be as racist as humanly possible without putting on white hoods. The first appalling thing that happened not long after the speech was the term 'Uncle Tim' trended on Twitter for 11 hours. This is a reference to the old accusation of a black man being an 'Uncle Tom', or in other words a race traitor. If you followed the hashtag, you saw quite a few woke white people calling him this. It's a little weird for a bunch of white people to think that black people must vote a certain way to be part of their own race. More than weird in fact, it's racist.
Then, on The View we saw Joy Behar (who is as white as rice on a paper plate in a snowstorm) lecture Senator Scott on systemic racism.
Comment: Scott is evil for saying this. Biden and Harris aren't, apparently.
In response, Twitter blocked "Uncle Tim" from trending, but allowed users to continue using it.

Protesters yelled "Abolish ICE!" at President Joe Biden during his drive-in rally in Duluth, Ga., on April 29, 2021.
Two men unfurled an orange banner near Biden's stage in Duluth, Ga.
"End detention now! End detention now!" one man bellowed.
Biden at first joked, "We'll give you a microphone."
"Communities, not prisons!" the chant became, before evolving to "Abolish ICE! Abolish ICE!"
