(which occurred 18 days later), was apparently ousted from his post, on Thursday, January 14th, barely shy of his second anniversary as Ukraine's Prime Minister.
The person who ousted him appears to have been the
former CIA asset whom the U.S. Administration allowed to run as a candidate in Ukraine's Presidential election on 25 May 2014, and who had won that election — the billionaire Petro Poroshenko. Poroshenko had assisted in the coup, and
admitted it to the EU's investigator who was sent right after the overthrow. (The information that it had been a coup instead of an authentic revolution came as a shock to the EU's Foreign Affairs Minister.)
Comment: Too bad it wasn't something like the people rising up in the streets and demanding that the Western-heel-licking, sycophantic, utterly corrupt and fascistic Arseniy Yatsenyuk that caused him to be ejected from office. Instead, we have to settle with the results of political in-fighting and maneuvers by another Western-heel-licking, sycophantic, utterly corrupt and fascistic politician, Porky Poroshenko. Oh well.

Recall that the jury in the 1999 civil trial examining the assassination reached a startling conclusion on December 8, 1999:

Reading the transcript of this trial takes some time (it's about 2700 pages long), but having done so I am impressed by attorney Pepper's persistence and skill in getting to the heart of this matter. Yet
if the findings are to have political force, and if the mainstream media persist in pretending the trial never took place,
it falls to active citizens to do their part to make the trial and the findings known. They should tell people about this trial, encourage people to read it, quote from it, and emphasize its importance.
They should not let it be trivialized (as the current Wikipedia article on Martin King tries to do) by pretending the claims of government conspiracy were weak and have been refuted—they have not.

so predictably the press are asking -and often answering- questions about when the slump will be over. Rebound, recovery, the usual terminology. When will we get back to growth?
For me personally, but that's just me, that last question sounds a bit more stupid every single time I hear and read it. Just a bit, but there's been a lot of those bits, more than I care to remember. Luckily, the answer is easy.
The slump will not be over for a very long time, there will be no rebound or recovery, and please stop talking about a return to growth unless you can explain what you want to grow into.

This is completely wrong. Sanctions did not work in the case of the nuclear issue with Iran. Sanctions will also not work one Iran's ballistic missile program.

expanded on this in length but it needs repeating.
For Iran the development of a civil nuclear program for electricity and other needs was and is seen as a precondition
to become a fully developed modern state. The U.S. and Israel wanted to prevent that. Israel sees Iran as a competing power in the Middle East and the U.S. sees Iran as too independent and too powerful to be left alone. Both want to restrict Iran's development unless Iran agrees to again become the client state it once was.
Comment: The issue was never a nuclear-armed Iran. As MoA writes above, it was simply a matter of the U.S. and Israel fighting tooth and nail to make sure Iran never became a modern, developed state. Some within the American establishment may have seen that the sanctions were useless and ineffective, but don't mistake that for thinking that the U.S. will not try whatever else they can in holding Iran back from simply doing what it has every right to do.

exaggerated the terrorist attacks in the country and falsely blamed them on Muslims to fuel Islamophobia among Americans, an American scholar and radio host says.
"Virtually all of the 600-plus so-called terror prosecutions since 9/11 have all been complete hoaxes," said Dr. Kevin Barrett, a founding member of the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance.
"The threats were fabricated by the FBI in virtually every single case and yet people don't know this because the
American media is in the hands of Zionists who are committing a war crime and a crime against humanity by refusing to investigate the terror attacks attributed to Muslims, which are proven over and over to have been
committed by paramilitary hired killers who are the enemies of Muslims, creating these incidents
to whip up Islamophobia," Barrett told Press TV on Monday.

These acts of violence falsely blamed on followers of the Islamic faith have increased attacks against American Muslims and have created anti-Muslim sentiment in the country, the scholar noted.

anti-Muslim comments by some Republican presidential candidates, especially Donald Trump and Ben Carson.

Big banks are cringing as crude oil is crumbling.
Firms on Wall Street helped bankroll America's energy boom, financing very expensive drilling projects that ended up flooding the world with oil.
Now that the oil glut has caused prices to
crash below $30 a barrel, turmoil is rippling through the energy industry and souring many of those loans. Dozens of oil companies have gone bankrupt and the ones that haven't are feeling enough financial stress to slash spending and
cut tens of thousands of jobs.
Three of America's biggest banks warned last week that oil prices will continue to create headaches on Wall Street -- especially if
doomsday scenarios of $20 or
even $10 oil play out.
