On this week's SOTT Talk Radio show we took a closer look at the latest developments in the never-ending 'war on terror' and the origins of the latest 'Islamic terror' bogeymen - ISIS. We delved (figuratively of course) into a new twist on the 'knicker bomber': the 'intrarectal terrorist bomb threat' that has appeared, on cue, for summer holiday season and is promising to make airport transitions as invasive (literally) as possible for millions of holiday-makers (the paedophilic elite can barely contain their glee!).

We also looked at the latest "global warming" data, and analysed the spectacular mental gymnastics that 'climate scientists' have been engaging in to explain the inexplicable. Speaking of the 'weather', we discussed the recent record-breaking flooding on every continent; 'haildrifts' up to 3 feet high being ploughed off streets in Tokyo, Spain, Istanbul and Mexico; and tornadoes touching down in the very unlikely locales of Norway, Sweden, Greece and Algeria.

From the stark increase in African immigrants risking horrific conditions (and their lives) on 'salvation seeking' boat rides to Italy that heralds an 'immigration crisis' for Europe, to the ongoing pedophilia in 'high places' scandal in the UK, the latest on the situation in Ukraine and the hard data linking fracking to earthquakes in the USA, we discussed all this and more on this week's Sott Talk Radio show!

Masked mob vandalizes Vesti newspaper office in Kiev as junta continues targeting journalists

A crowd of around 50 masked men with stones and flares has attacked and vandalized the office of Kiev's Vesti newspaper. The paper's security guard was beaten as the mob shattered the windows and filled the building with tear gas.

A large group of unidentified people wearing masks attacked the newspaper office on Saturday morning, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry has confirmed. The investigators classified the incident as an "act of hooliganism."

One of the first reports of the assault came from the publication's nightshift editor Grigory Grin.

"At first I heard several shots, most probably from an automatic weapon. Then stones and Molotov cocktails flew into the windows on the ground and first floors. After that tear gas was blown into the building, which very quickly filled the whole office - it's still difficult to breathe there. One of the security guards, who tried to oppose the bandits, was beaten," Grin wrote.

"Apparently their task was to quickly ransack [the office] and in the same timely manner escape, to avoid being detained by law enforcement," he said, adding that the attackers also tried to get inside the building.

At least 29 people have been killed in two deadly shooting attacks in Kenya's coastal districts, the interior ministry has said.

Witnesses said heavily armed men raided a trading centre in the village of Hindi, in Lamu county, and a police station in Gamba, Tana River county, overnight on Saturday.

The Somali militant Islamist group al-Shabab said it was behind the killings.

It has made past claims it conducted various other attacks in the region.

Deputy Prime Minister William Ruto, who is currently visiting the region, is on his way to Gamba.


Comment: Mr. Uhuru is of course on to something which his western friendly opposition downplay in order for the message of 'be afraid now we don't have a government with western terror fighting allies at our disposal', to run its course.

More than three years after the US and its NATO allies unleashed an "intervention" and regime change in Libya, the US establishment admits they maybe have "got it wrong." Naturally, there were many of us who were demonized endlessly for speaking out against that war, and against all those politicians, analysts, and "activists" on the left and right, who championed the "humanitarianism" of waging war on Libya. We were attacked as "soft on dictators," "conspiracy theorists," and "anti-Americans." And yet, today it is our voices that still proclaim loudly the immorality and illegality of that war. Thankfully, it seems the establishment is beginning to hear us.

Comment: It also shows the degree to which Western power centers have gained widespread control over all large news media outlets and "humanitarian" NGOs.

Meet XKeyscore - "a computer network exploitation system", as described in an NSA presentation, devoted to gathering "nearly everything a user does on the internet." The German site Das Erste has exposed the shocking truth about the rules used by the NSA to decide who is a "target" for surveillance. While the NSA claims to only "target" a small fraction of internet users, the perhaps unsurprising truth is very different. As Boing Boing concludes, one expert suggested that the NSA's intention here was to separate the sheep from the goats -- to split the entire population of the Internet into "people who have the technical know-how to be private" and "people who don't" and then capture all the communications from the first group.

As Das Erste describes it,
The NSA program XKeyscore is a collection and analysis tool and "a computer network exploitation system", as described in an NSA presentation. It is one of the agency's most ambitious programs devoted to gathering "nearly everything a user does on the internet." The source code contains several rules that enable agents using XKeyscore to surveil privacy-conscious internet users around the world. The rules published here are specifically directed at the infrastructure and the users of the Tor Network, the Tails operating system, and other privacy-related software.

Putin tells Obama he wants better ties, equal treatment as befits a world power

President Vladimir Putin called for an improvement in ties between Russia and the United States on Friday in an Independence Day message to Barack Obama, urging Washington to treat Moscow as an equal partner.

Relations between the two presidents and countries are at a low ebb following disagreements over the conflicts in Ukraine and Syria, and over human rights, democracy and defence matters.

"The head of the Russian state expressed hope that ... ties between the two countries will develop successfully on the basis of pragmatism and equality despite difficulties and disagreements," the Kremlin said in a statement, outlining a telegram sent to Obama on the July 4 holiday.

"Vladimir Putin also highlighted that Russia and the United States, as countries carrying exceptional responsibility for safeguarding international stability and security, should cooperate not only in the interests of their own nations but also the whole world."

The telegram underlined a message Putin has made central to his third term as president - that Russia, like the United States a veto-wielding member of the U.N. Security Council, must be treated as a world power and on an equal footing two decades after the fall of the Soviet Union.

The Kremlin statement made no reference to sanctions imposed on Moscow by Washington after Russia annexed the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea in March, or to other differences between the two former Cold War enemies.

But the call for "pragmatism and equality" in relations suggested Putin put the onus on Obama to improve ties.


Comment: In other words, Obama, and by extension the US, needs to grow up and join the rest of the reality-based world. Otherwise the world will move on.

At least a half dozen times in recent months, the suggestion has come from serious people that Jews predominate in the American media - that if we are not dominant, we are a major bloc. In a Yivo event on Jews in journalism I've blogged about, a questioner said that Jews' outsize proportion in the media has granted us "a large influence over power." In his groundbreaking paper on the New York Times's role in shaping American policy toward Israel, Jerome Slater spoke of "religious beliefs and identifications" that affected the Times, and cited former executive editor Max Frankel's admission in his memoir (one also cited by Walt and Mearsheimer): "I was much more deeply devoted to Israel than I dared to assert."

Lately broadcast reporter John Hockenberry related that he wanted to do a piece on the hijackers' motivation after 9/11 but that NBC executive Jeff Zucker scotched the notion:
"Maybe," Zucker said, "we ought to do a series of specials on firehouses where we just ride along with our cameras. Like the show Cops, only with firefighters."... [H]e could make room in the prime-time lineup for firefighters, but then smiled at me and said, in effect, that he had no time for any subtitled interviews with jihadists raging about Palestine. [Weiss's emphasis]
Then last month at a forum at the Nixon Center, former Bushie Dov Zackheim said, Jews don't dominate the policy-making process, but the media is a different story...

I don't know that anyone has visited the simple question raised by these statements: Do Jews dominate the media? This is something I know about personally. I've worked in print journalism for more than 30 years. I've worked for many magazines and newspapers, and for a time my whole social circle was editors and writers in New York. I don't know television. I don't know Washington journalism well. I don't know the west coast. My sample is surely skewed by the fact that I'm Jewish and have always felt great comfort with other Jews. But in my experience, Jews have made up the majority of the important positions in the publications I worked for, a majority of the writers I've known at these place, and the majority of the owners who have paid me. Yes my own sample may be skewed, but I think it shows that Jews make up a significant proportion of power positions in media, half, if not more.

A man employed by Germany's foreign intelligence agency (BND) has been arrested on suspicion of spying for the US. The espionage swoop is the latest of a series of embarrassing intelligence scandals straining ties between the two countries.

A 31-year-old German man was been arrested Wednesday on suspicion of being a foreign spy, according to a statement released by the German Federal Prosecutors Office.

On Friday, German authorities summoned the US ambassador in Berlin over the arrest of the alleged spy.

Two politicians with knowledge of the affair told Reuters on Friday that the unnamed man has admitted passing on details to a US contact about a special German parliamentary committee into National Security Agency (NSA) spying activities in Germany, which were revealed by former US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden.

About 40 politicians on UK pedophile ring: Report

UK police have opened an investigation into claims of a Westminster pedophile ring, saying they have a list of about 40 alleged child abusers, including over 10 current and former British politicians.

Whistleblower Peter McKelvie, whose claims prompted Operation Fernbridge, disclosed in his the latest report that up to 40 members of parliament and peers knew about or took part in the child abuse network.

Operation Fernbridge is a Scotland Yard investigation into allegations of a pedophile network with links to Downing Street.

Lawmakers - including former ministers and household names - from all three main political parties are included on the list.

Some of the alleged child abusers remain active in the UK parliament, while several others, including Cyril Smith and Peter Morrison, have already died.
