The US government is evil

"The greatest evil is not now done ... in concentration camps and labour camps. In those we see its final result. But it is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voices. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern." ― C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters
US empire
Is the U.S. government evil?

You tell me.

This is a government that treats its citizens like faceless statistics and economic units to be bought, sold, bartered, traded, tracked, tortured, and eventually eliminated once they've outgrown their usefulness.

This is a government that treats human beings like lab rats to be caged, branded, experimented upon, and then discarded and left to suffer from the after-effects.

This is a government that repeatedly lies, cheats, steals, spies, kills, maims, enslaves, breaks the laws, overreaches its authority, and abuses its power at almost every turn.

This is a government that wages wars for profit, jails its own people for profit, and then turns a blind eye and a deaf ear while its henchmen rape and kill and pillage.

No, this is not a government that can be trusted to do what is right or moral or humane or honorable but instead seems to gravitate towards corruption, malevolence, misconduct, greed, cruelty, brutality and injustice.

This is not a government you should trust with your life, your loved ones, your livelihood or your freedoms.

This is the face of evil, disguised as a democracy, sold to the people as an institution that has their best interests at heart.

Don't fall for the lie.

The government has never had our best interests at heart.

Is John Bolton Russiagate's next target? Ben Nimmo and NBC think so

Is President Donald Trump's new national security adviser John Bolton a secret Russian stooge? NBC news thinks he might be.

As the narrative that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia stays alive, NBC news has found that if you join enough dots and squint just hard enough, Bolton "colluded" with Russian trolls to spread anti-Muslim propaganda.

In an article published Monday, NBC's Heidi Przybyla highlighted Bolton's chairmanship of the right-wing Gatestone Institute think tank between 2013 and last month. Gatestone publishes posts from right-wing authors, many of which concern the role of Islam in Europe and the west.

Comment: Ben Nimmo and NBC have clearly lost contact with reality. But they are still capable of doing a lot of damage to legitimate reporters and commentators in alternative media.

Empire Collapse: Russian Missile Tech Renders America's Trillion Dollar Navy Obsolete

Kinzhal ('dagger') hypersonic missile being test-fired by the Russian military
For the past 500 years European nations - Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, Britain, France and, briefly, Germany - were able to plunder much of the planet by projecting their naval power overseas. Since much of the world's population lives along the coasts, and much of it trades over water, armed ships that arrived suddenly out of nowhere were able to put local populations at their mercy.

The armadas could plunder, impose tribute, punish the disobedient, and then use that plunder and tribute to build more ships, enlarging the scope of their naval empires. This allowed a small region with few natural resources and few native advantages beyond extreme orneriness and a wealth of communicable diseases to dominate the globe for half a millennium.

The ultimate inheritor of this naval imperial project is the United States, which, with the new addition of air power, and with its large aircraft carrier fleet and huge network of military bases throughout the planet, is supposedly able to impose Pax Americana on the entire world. Or, rather, was able to do so - during the brief period between the collapse of the USSR and the emergence of Russia and China as new global powers and their development of new anti-ship and antiaircraft technologies. But now this imperial project is at an end.

Comey being crushed by the 'weasel moves' he once disavowed

FBI Director James Comey testifies before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, January 10, 2017.
James Comey, the ex-FBI director who claims to have boasted to President Trump that he didn't do "weasel moves" like leaking information, is in jeopardy, and leaks are to blame.

During the first week of his book tour to promote A Higher Loyalty, Comey has come under fire for leaking memos to a friend that recounted conversations he had with Trump in 2017 before he was fired in May.

The memos he wrote - seven in total - have attracted scrutiny from the Justice Department's inspector general who, less than 24 hours after the release of the memos, launched an investigation into whether the former FBI director leaked classified information when he shared several of the memos to a friend not affiliated with government.

Armenian prime minster resigns in face of protests: Coup echoes Ukraine's Euromaidan

A protester being detained by the Armenian police.
When 9 legislators out of 105 lead an increasingly violent movement to topple an elected government via what ultimately ended up becoming a low-intensity "military coup", it's usually a worrying sign that dictatorship and not democracy is right around the corner.

The Armenian Color Revolution was a success, and hyper-nationalist politician and small-time oligarch Nikol Pashinyan was able to pressure former President and now former Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan to resign from his position despite the latter's insistence just yesterday morning that "the political force, which garnered 7-8% in the election, has no right to talk on behalf of the people" and "blackmail the state". The end to his government came swiftly after his newfound EU allies betrayed him by demanding that the police release Pashinyan and the other arrested provocateurs (which might have included two suspected bombers), which Sargsyan promptly complied with earlier today. This coincided with hundreds of troops rushing out of their barracks and joining the "protesters", prompting the patriotic representatives of the military to vow harsh legal punishment against all of the deserters.

Nikki Haley has reportedly fallen out of favor with Trump and could be on the chopping block

Nikki Haley, the fiery US ambassador to the United Nations, seems to have crossed swords with her boss in the White House. President Trump is said to have taken to shouting at the TV whenever he sees her making statements.

Last weekend, the spat flew spectacularly into the open when Trump undercut Haley over her claims that the White House was about to impose new sanctions on Russia. Trump's blood pressure reportedly surged with rage at her apparent uppityness to make up policy on the hoof.

Next day, the Trump administration pointedly announced it was holding off on new sanctions against Moscow. Haley was embarrassingly left hanging out to dry. A senior Trump aide told US media that the UN ambassador had gotten "confused". Haley then hit back at the slight, saying she "doesn't get confused".

There seems little doubt that the former South Carolina governor who was once such a rising star in Team Trump has now fallen out of favor with the president.

Obama Administration and the DNC's recent lawsuit more threatening to freedom of the press than Trump rhetoric

Trump&Tweet

America's mainstream media continues to blow President Trump's words and threats out of proportion while giving the Obama administration a pass for its actions against press freedom and forgetting Bush's jailing of a New York Times reporter. Trump's tweets putting an untrustworthy media in its place are far from "unprecedented."

I'm not pretending Trump is a saint at all. He is far from perfect. Though he has certainly said some alarming things, he has not taken any significant action against the media or attacked the First Amendment in any way.

Sure, Trump suggested journalists be sent to jail, as we learned from Thursday's release of the Comey memos from February 2017. But he has not mired a reporter in a seven year-long lawsuit or jailed a reporter for failing to disclose a source, as both the Obama and Bush administrations have done.

Dankof: Israeli-Saudi alliance behind war crimes in Syria

A former US Senate candidate said the Israeli-Saudi alliance has its "fingerprints all over illegal and criminal activities" in Syria.

Following is the full text of the interview:

Tasnim: Multiple places in Syria came under attack by US, British and French military forces after President Donald Trump ordered a military strike against the war-torn country early on Saturday. What is your take on the attack?

Dankof: My take on the attack is that we may all fairly conclude that Mr. Trump's foreign policy has been irretrievably hijacked by the worst elements in the Neo-Conservative, Israel First fifth column in the American government and media, and that the President has every intention of continuing to facilitate the ongoing violations of international law and American Constitutional standards that has characterized his predecessors in terms of illegitimate military actions and interventions in the Middle East that are chiefly at the behest of Israel, the central banks, and the Saudi Arabian regime that knows its own survivability depends on the continuation of the American Petrodollar as the reserve currency of the world, even as this regime continues to pursue the support of Wahhabic terrorists and extremists to destroy Iran and Shiite Muslim interests in the region.

The destruction of Syria is 'vital to Saudi-Israeli hegemonic interests'

A political commentator based in Paris said the Zionist regimes of Israel and Saudi Arabia are seeking to destroy Syria in an attempt to serve their "hegemonic interests in the region".

Tasnim: Multiple places in Syria came under attack by US, British and French military forces after President Donald Trump ordered a military strike against the war-torn country last week over the alleged use of chemical weapons by Damascus in Douma. What is your take on the attack?

Gearoid Ó Colmáin: The attack (in Douma) was clearly a false flag operation. It was undertaken by the White Helmets in coordination with British and American and Israeli intelligence agencies. The goal was simply to create the pretext for the bombing. President Trump had stated that he wished to disengage from Syria. Israel was not happy with that decision as they want America to fight their Middle Eastern wars and the war in Syria is, and always has been, a proxy war started by Israel to destroy Iran's most important regional ally, the Syrian Arab Republic.

S. Korea turns off border propaganda speakers as summit with N. Korea approaches

South Korea has turned off its speakers broadcasting propaganda across the border to North Korea for the first time in two years in the lead up to a historic summit between the two countries.

The speakers blast radio shows, pop music and criticism of Pyongyang towards North Korea in a bid to influence their northern neighbors. The broadcasts also include details of defectors who escape the north. North Korea also has its own propaganda broadcasts, which include praise for leader Kim Jong-un and North Korean songs.

South Korea's defence ministry spokesperson Choi Hyun-soo said the speakers stopped broadcasting from midnight Sunday. "We hope that our move today will result in South and North Korea ending mutual slandering and propaganda against each other and creating a peaceful new beginning." she said.
