U.S. MH17 scenario, built on tweets and YouTube, unravels

Obama
The Obama Administration's narrative of Russian guilt in the Malaysia Airlines MH17 downing is unraveling like a cheap sweater tonight, under the increasing realization that dubious social media-sourced evidence is essentially all there is, and the admission by US intelligence officials that there is no real evidence pointing to Russia at all.

What is now being euphemistically called "major evidentiary and legal obstacles," but would more correctly be called "completely full of holes," it is quickly becoming a case study in why random videos you found on YouTube are not a great way to build a case in a major international incident.

Take the photograph released over the weekend on social media, showing the putative 9k37 Buk that shot down the plane just hanging out in the middle of a quiet square in a rebel town. It would be pretty damning, if true, but it also would raise a lot of questions, chiefly why the rebels left the vehicle in such a conspicuous place during an alleged coverup.

The photo, like YouTube videos claiming to be the rebels confessing to the shoot-down but built on content created a day before the plane crashed in the first place, was quickly labeled "unable to be verified," and with deeper digging seem probable forgeries.

People who have been on social media for more than a few minutes know how much nonsense is presented as absolute truth there, and the Obama Administration's decision to base its entire case on stuff they read there, going to the extent of arguing with a dubious press, has clearly not served them well.

Billion dollar asset manager warns: Yellen collapse 'will be unlike any other'

Get your sh*t together people - 401ks, savings, mortgages, whatever. Get outta debt and stock your basements.

"Another horrific stock market crash is coming, and the next bust will be "unlike any other" we have seen.

That's the message from Jeremy Grantham, co-founder and chief investment strategist of GMO, a Boston-based firm with $117 billion in assets under management.

Grantham pulls no punches when assigning responsibility for the coming financial carnage. In a recent interview with The New York Times, he calls Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen "ignorant" and says the Federal Reserve all but killed the economic recovery.

Grimly, he adds, "We have never had this before. It's going to be very painful for investors."

Russian State Duma suggests investigating Kolomoisky's activities in connection with MH17 crash

Ihor Kolomoyskyi

The activities of Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky on the day of Malaysian Boeing crash and in previous days should be the subject of close attention, said Sergei Neverov, vice-speaker of the State Duma, secretary of the General Council of Yedinaya Rossia party, to Russia 24 TV channel.

"In connection with the crash of Malaysian aircraft, it is appropriate to recall the fact that the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky owns a number of Ukrainian airlines: Ukraine International Airlines, Dniproavia, Aerosvit. But what is even more interesting is that he fully funds the activities of Dnepropetrovsk dispatcher services responsible for tracking the tragic voyage and, to a large extent, for the technical support of dispatcher services throughout Ukraine," he said.

Neverov thinks that the oligarch, in fact, not only has a direct impact on the dispatcher services of Ukraine, but he is also able to "give direct instructions to a number of them, including those who must have tracked the tragic flight of Malaysian Boeing on July 17."

"Actually, Igor Kolomoisky, his activities, as well as any his orders given on July 17 or in the previous days should be the subject of close attention or even international investigation by a commission dealing with the circumstances of Malaysian Boeing crash," suggested the Duma vice-speaker.

Moreover, as noted by the politician, Kolomoysky has a serious arsenal of weapons and military equipment." Kolomoysky has his own well-equipped armed forces, he certainly has tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, jet-fire systems. And at this point, a question arises, if he also has planes and Buks. I strongly advise the US president and European leaders to carefully look at this," concluded Neverov.

Comment: Yep, this is the same Kolomoisky behind the Odessa massacre. He also has strong ties to Israel, which stood to benefit from the MH17 disaster, timed to distract from the ground invasion of Gaza. Interestingly, the following tweet allegedly appeared on July 13th: "Kolomoysky going to surprise Poroshenko. Something to do with the aircraft."

Delusional piece of Israeli propaganda states that Gazan 'terrorist' complains that Jewish God changes the path of rockets

A Mancunian who lives in Ma'ale Adumim on the West Bank

Jewish Telegraph

IN October, 1956, David Ben Gurion was interviewed by CBS. He stated: "In Israel, in order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles."

But the Talmud Yerushalmi tells us that in no way are we to depend on miracles.

It argues that we must not desist from our obligations and must not wait for miraculous intervention from the Supernatural.

How perfectly relevant are both of these views today. We witness hourly miracles.

As one of the terrorists from Gaza was reported to say when asked why they couldn't aim their rockets more effectively: "We do aim them, but their God changes their path in mid-air."

Comment: "Was reported", by whom? We could not find any other sources apart from this one, which makes it an unfounded rumor. Notice that a Muslim would not refer to the Jewish God as "their God" and attribute 'Him' any miracles, since Islam is a monotheistic religion. Therefore, he would have either said "God" (or Allah), in the belief that there is only one God for all religions, or he would have not mentioned the matter at all, not believing that "theirs" was a real God capable of miracles.

Amen! And when our God is not busy doing that, He is ensuring that the high-tech brain power of our "start-up nation" is working overtime to produce yet another Iron Dome battery to help protect our cities and us.

Comment: The Jewish Telegraph, the weekly paper that published this bizarre piece of propaganda, describes itself on its website as 'Britain's only Jewish regional newspaper'. We can only be thankful that, given the articles it publishes, it is released only weekly and is not national in reach.

Indeed, the baseless rumor that a 'terrorist' (there is that word again) has recognized the miraculous powers of the Jewish Tribal God, amounts to a myth or a legend suitable for the Bronze Age. But we live in the year 2014, and a genocide is being committed on the civilians of Gaza because of the political and territorial ambitions of Israel. Fairy tales can only make the situation much worse.

All around us - Afghanistan, Iraq, Haiti, the Congo, Ivory Coast, Palestine, Somalia, Libya, and elsewhere - empires are tearing a trail of destruction. This is not a sign of strength but of weakness, because the aim of empire is not to destroy but to conquer.

Since conquest cannot be achieved without the collaboration of the conquered, a campaign of demoralization is an essential component of empire. It is the job of the mainstream to present every initiative, good or bad, as issuing from power. This, it does exceedingly well. From the popular news, we may expect to learn that one set of westerners bombs a country and another set of westerners rebuilds it: never the natives. Or we may learn that all history is effected by powerful men. For example, almost everyone has heard that Abraham Lincoln freed the United States' slaves in 1863, but how many know that Haiti's slaves emancipated themselves in 1804. We are told, quite wrongly, that the Supreme Court granted civil rights to US blacks 100 years after their emancipation, and not that African-Americans assumed those rights by facing the racist policemen's dogs and fire hoses.

It is important to relate the truth of things: that real power comes from the people and not from its supposed rulers. Imagine for a moment, that a master is flogging a slave and insisting that the slave works nearly to death. And in response the slave says: "No!" Who has the power? In Haiti, we have always known who this is. It is whenever people lose their fear and decide enough is enough that historical advances get made. Think of the US labor movement. No rent-a-cop Pinkertons, no military, however technologically advanced, stands a chance against a resolutely uncooperative populace.

UN says Israel maybe guilty of war crimes

Israel maybe committing war crimes in Gaza, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights says. Speaking in Geneva, Navi Pillay said house demolitions and the killing of children raise the "strong possibility" that Israel is violating international law.

Opening an emergency debate at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, she citied cases of Israeli air strikes and shelling hitting houses and hospitals in the coastal enclave:
"These are just a few examples where there seems to be a strong possibility that international humanitarian law has been violated, in a manner that could amount to war crime."
She hit out at both sides concerning their conduct during the conflict, which is now in its 16th day, having started on July 8. Some 643 Palestinians, many of them children and civilians have died in the conflict, including a seven-year-old hit by a shell in southern Gaza early on Wednesday, Reuters reports.

What Zionists really think: Israeli rabbi says it's OK to kill innocent civilians

Dov Lior
Dov Lior: this is your brain on religion.
Dov Lior, a racist Israeli rabbi from the West Bank settlement Kiryat Arba, recently posted a Halakhic ruling allowing to kill innocent civilians, after being asked about the "war" (it's a massacre) in Gaza.

Here are a few lines from the ruling (pictured below):
"The Torah of Israel guides us in all walks of life, private and public, on how to behave during war and also how to keep moral standards.

The Maharal from Prague (Rabbi Judah Loew - A.K.), in his book Gur Arye, clearly writes that... in all wars the attacked people are allowed to attack fiercely the people from whom the attackers came from and they do not have to check if he personally belongs to the fighters.

Therefore, during war the attacked people are allowed to punish the enemy population in any punishment it finds worthy, such as denying supplies or electricity and also to bomb the whole area according to the discretion of the army minister and not to just simply endanger soldier's lives but to take crushing deterrence steps to exterminate the enemy.

In the case of Gaza, the Minister of Defense will be allowed to instruct even the destruction of Gaza so that the south will no longer suffer and to avoid harm to our people who have been suffering for so long from the surrounding enemies.

Any kind of talk about humanism and consideration are moot when speaking of saving our brothers in the south and in the rest of the country and bringing back quiet to our country."

Comment: All because some guy wrote some nonsense in some book. That's the Jewish reasoning behind all 'morality'. Not conscience, not reason, just parroting some racist moron devoid of human feeling. That's how most religious morality goes: "this is OK, because I said so." Wake up, humanity.

The cover-up begins? MH17 black boxes will go to UK for analysis

mh17 black box

Black boxes from the Malaysian jetliner downed over eastern Ukraine will be sent to a lab in the United Kingdom, said Malaysia's deputy transport minister on Tuesday.

"The procedure is to have the black boxes sent to the nearest lab that is authorized by the ICAO for analysis," Aziz Kaprawi told Reuters, referring to the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

The two black boxes are now in the possession of Malaysian authorities after Prime Minister Najib Razak brokered a deal late on Monday with eastern Ukraine's separatists leader to hand over evidence that could shed light on the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 last Thursday.

Aziz said that the black boxes would travel to a lab under the Air Accidents Investigations Branch in the U.K.

A Belgian Air Force jet was already heading towards Kiev on Tuesday afternoon to collect the boxes. A Belgian defense ministry spokesman said it should deliver them to Britain in the evening.

The Malaysia Airlines plane crashed last Thursday while en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, and a ground-to-air missile is suspected of bringing it down.

Comment: Given the sensitive nature of the current situation, with accusations coming from all sides, the handling of the black boxes should be overseen by a team of international experts, and the data should be made public. There is simply too much room for evidence tampering with a U.S./Kiev-friendly country overseeing the data analysis.

Russia will respond to NATO aggression: Key Putin quotes from defense policy address

Russian Security Council Putin

Moscow will respond to NATO's expansion towards Russia's borders, President Vladimir Putin said at the emergency Security Council meeting in Moscow. Here are his key quotes on Russia's defense, Western sanctions, and violence in eastern Ukraine.

On NATO'S missile system and Russia's defense
Putin quote
NATO forces have been increasing military presence in Eastern European countries bordering Russia and sending warships to the Baltic and Mediterranean due to the escalation of the Ukrainian crisis. NATO has also stated that it will endorse new funding for Ukraine's defense, blaming Russia for destabilizing the situation in Ukraine.

"We shall provide an adequate and well-measured response to NATO's expansion towards Russia's borders, and we shall take note of [the West] setting up a global missile defense architecture and building up its arsenals of precision-guided weapons," Putin said on Tuesday.

"No matter what our Western counterparts tell us, we can see what's going on. As it stands, NATO is blatantly building up its forces in Eastern Europe, including the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea areas. Its operational and combat training activities are gaining in scale."

Putin stated that NATO's military build-up near Russia's border is not just for defense, but is an "offensive weapon" and an "element of the US offensive system deployed outside the mainland."

"With that in mind, we need to promptly and diligently implement all the measures we have planned to strengthen our nation's defense capabilities, including our plans for Crimea and Sevastopol, where we will practically have to set up our military architecture from scratch."
