BRICS brings the chance of world change, as the US and EU obsess over internal battles

BRICS meeting June 28, 2019
The big outsider nations of the world meet at the BRICS summit as the US and EU face their own struggles, with a chance to reset the global agenda to improve their own economies and standing on the international stage.

The Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) summit in Brasilia, starting today, shines the spotlight onto a disparate group of hugely populated nations at a time when Western powers are at their most unstable for years.

This is a meeting for the outsiders of this world. The awkward squad. They are the lanky kids, the geeks, the pimply swots and the just plain weird of the global playground. They are big, influential players in their own regions but not welcome at the top table of global financial institutions where Europe and the US hold sway and jealously guard their seats.

Sure, they have economic issues to talk about, ostensibly the whole point of the Brasilia summit, but it is geopolitics that they are really there for. A big gossipy catch-up and a chance to compare notes on the increasingly fractured European Union and the ever more isolationist US of Donald Trump, and how those two tectonic shifts impact their own worlds and spheres of influence.

Comment: BRICS was formed out of the necessity to protect its collective interests in the face of a Western-led economic onslaught of policies that act much like a global mafia. BRICS forms a vital alliance that has announced to the world that they have the resources, initiative and smarts to counter the forces of financial oppression that would seem to suck the life's blood out of any nation that is incapable of resisting it.

Ousted Bolivian President Evo Morales thanks Mexico for saving HIS LIFE, pledges to carry on fight despite coup

Evo Morales
Bolivia's ousted socialist president, Evo Morales, has credited Mexico with saving his life, after the country offered him political asylum following his resignation from government.

"I am very grateful to the president and the Mexican people, because he saved my life," Morales said on Tuesday, after he arrived in Mexico City to claim political asylum. Unaccounted for in recent days, Morales decried the "coup" against him, and recounted how a member of his once-loyal military was offered $50,000 to turn him in to the opposition on Sunday.

Morales was re-elected to the presidency in October, in an election result that opposition leaders called fraudulent. Though he offered to hold fresh elections, protests continued and Morales stepped down on Sunday following a police and military mutiny.

Nevertheless, the socialist leader - who presided over Bolivia through a period of relative stability and economic growth - vowed to remain politically active in exile.

Comment: Morales' journey from Bolivia to Mexico was not without a little drama. A few countries in South America refused to allow the plane to fly through its airspace (a rather petty move). The plane also had to be refueled in Paraguay after Peru changed its mind and wouldn't allow the plane to land in its territory.

Byron York: Democrats have a Colonel Vindman problem

House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff • Lt. Col. Alex Vindman
House Democrats conducted their impeachment interviews in secret, but Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman still emerged as star of the show. Appearing at his Oct. 29 deposition in full dress uniform, the decorated Army officer, now a White House National Security Council Ukraine expert, was the first witness who had actually listened to the phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that is at the heart of the Democratic impeachment campaign. Even though lawmakers were forbidden to discuss his testimony in public, Vindman's leaked opening statement that "I did not think it was proper [for Trump] to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen" exploded on news reports.

Vindman has not yet been scheduled to appear before the Democrats' public impeachment hearings. When that happens, he will undoubtedly again play a prominent role. But there will be a difference. The public now has a transcript of Vindman's deposition. And those who have taken the trouble to read the 340-page document will have a different picture of Vindman's testimony than the one presented in early media reports.

Virtue-signalling or vehicular sense? Netherlands to lower speed limits to 'cut emissions and save planet'

Comment: Utter maroons don't realize this is one of the things that sparked the rebellion in France last year; the govt there cut speed limits on national roads in concert with raising fuel taxes, ostensibly to 'save lives and the planet'. Few believed it...

speed limit

The government of the Netherlands will reportedly slash highway speed limits from 130 km/h (80mph) to 100 km/h (60mph) in a bid to curb nitrogen emissions. The move has been received with mixed feelings.

Dutch broadcaster NOS reported on Tuesday that the center-right/center-left coalition government will unveil the lowered speed limit on Wednesday morning. Prime Minister Mark Rutte did not confirm the news, telling reporters to wait overnight for the official word.

The drastically lowered speed limit will be enforced during daytime hours, and existing speed limits of 120 km/h and 130 km/h will remain in place between 7pm and 6am.

The government claims that the drop in speed limits will offset the nitrogen emissions of the 75,000 new homes it plans on building next year. Rutte's cabinet will also reportedly reveal plans to add enzymes to cattle feed to cut down on the ammonia content of their manure.

Comment: We're ruled by complete imbeciles.

Do it, Dutch govt, we triple dare you! See what happens next...

Report: UK secret military unit embedded in Saudi Arabia takes its orders from Saudi commanders

soldier
The UK military has a team of high-ranking soldiers embedded in the Saudi Arabian armed forces who are believed to be taking their orders from Saudi commanders. The British program, details of which have long been kept secret from the British parliament and public, involves training the Saudis in "internal security".

Paid for by the Saudi regime - including the salaries and living costs of the British soldiers - the team's role is controversial given the kingdom's repressive political system, Daily Maverick reported. The report also raises questions because British soldiers are embedded in a branch of the Saudi military which is involved in the devastating war in Yemen.

The British Military Mission to the Saudi Arabian National Guard (BMM SANG) trains the de facto protection force of the ruling House of Saud and was established in 1964. An elite, 130,000-strong force with soldiers drawn from tribes loyal to the ruling dynasty, the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) is separate from the regular Saudi army. Its central role is to defend the regime from a coup.

Netanyahu's attack on Gaza really meant to target political foes, Gantz and Joint List of Israeli parties

Netanyahu Gantz cartoon
Benjamin Netanyahu's motivation in killing a Palestinian commander in Gaza was partly political, a former Israeli negotiator said today: Netanyahu aims to show that his chief rival to be prime minister, Benny Gantz, cannot be counted on to provide security to the country. In the wake of the attack, a "convoy" of Netanyahu's political allies in the Likud party have issued statements that Gantz is not trustworthy because he will depend on the Joint List of Palestinian parties in order to become prime minister, the negotiator said.

Moty Cristal, a former peace negotiator and lt. colonel in the Israeli army, spoke on i24 News today and said that the timing of the attack was not "purely taking advantage of the window of opportunity" to kill Baha Abu al-Ata, the leader of Islamic Jihad in Gaza. In fact, Cristal said, Avigdor Lieberman has said that when he was Defense Minister (2016-2018), Netanyahu rejected his recommendation that Israel kill Abu al-Ata. Islamic Jihad reportedly attacked Israel in September — when Netanyahu was forced off a stage in Ashkelon out of concern that he was within range.

Comment: Leaving the politics aside, Israel's recent attacks have left Palestinians in further pain which spurred this request for help:
Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh called on Israel to stop strikes at the Gaza Strip, appealing to the United Nations for help.
"Israel must immediately stop its ongoing aggression against our people in Gaza. We call upon the United Nations to provide international protection to our people who continue to be subjected to Israeli violations and crimes both in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip", Shtayyeh said on Twitter.
At the same time, Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said continued to strike Islamic Jihad terror targets in the Gaza Strip. According to the military, several rocket launchers, as well as an underground terror infrastructure and operations rooms were hit by the strikes, in response to the rockets launched earlier in the day from the northern Gaza Strip.

The confrontation between Israel and Hamas escalated early on Tuesday after Israeli airstrikes killed Baha Abu Al-Atta, a top commander from the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, triggering a fierce response. The 42-year-old leader was said to have been responsible for hundreds of terror attacks and IDF suspected him of preparing a new attack against Israel.

Bolivia Coup Led by Christian Fascist Paramilitary Leader And Millionaire - With Foreign Support

Union Juvenil Fascists Bolivia coup

Bolivian coup leader Luis Fernando Camacho is a far-right multi-millionaire and an ultra-conservative Christian fundamentalist groomed by a fascist paramilitary notorious for its racist violence
Bolivian coup leader Luis Fernando Camacho is a far-right multi-millionaire who arose from fascist movements in the Santa Cruz region, where the US has encouraged separatism. He has courted support from Colombia, Brazil, and the Venezuelan opposition.

When Luis Fernando Camacho stormed into Bolivia's abandoned presidential palace in the hours after President Evo Morales's sudden November 10 resignation, he revealed to the world a side of the country that stood at stark odds with the plurinational spirit its deposed socialist and Indigenous leader had put forward.

With a Bible in one hand and a national flag in the other, Camacho bowed his head in prayer above the presidential seal, fulfilling his vow to purge his country's Native heritage from government and "return God to the burned palace."

"Pachamama will never return to the palace," he said, referring to the Andean Mother Earth spirit. "Bolivia belongs to Christ."

Shocking proof how Google censors health news

google
June 3, 2019, Google implemented a broad "core update"1 that in one fell swoop eliminated most Mercola.com pages from its search results. Virtually overnight, Google traffic to my site dropped by approximately 99.9%.

Considering Mercola.com has been the most visited natural health site for the last 16 years, it's no great surprise that we were listed as one of the biggest losers in Google's June algorithm update.2

I wrote about the ramifications of Google's core update in two articles at the end of June 2019. In Part 1, I discussed the effects that the new search algorithm and updated quality rater guidelines is having on traffic to this site.

Comment: The censorship of alternative health information is getting out of hand. The elite are pushing more and more to bury truthful information in multiple subjects to attempt to steer public perception and derive benefits for themselves. Its become so blatantly obvious that anyone giving even the most cursory of investigations can't help but see the information is being controlled. Unfortunately, most people aren't inclined to question where their information is coming from and whose interests are benefited.

Pathologizing Conspiracy Theories is The Psychopathic Government's Way of Suppressing Dissent

Conspiracy theory definition
© Department of Politics and International Relations
The term 'conspiracy theory' has long been used to discredit anyone pointing out collusion between powerful people, but efforts to pathologize dissent as 'conspiracism' are doomed to collapse under the weight of reality.

Conspiracy theories are divisive, dangerous, even evil, according to the mainstream media. They cause "violence, including terrorism," former Obama administration official Cass Sunstein notoriously declared, and the FBI's Phoenix field office recently reiterated. They're a way for ignorant people to make sense of the world, academics cry, or a holdover from the caveman era, when primitive man had to suspect enemies around every corner. More recently, they've been described as a way for white people to deal with demographic changes.

But conspiracies are everywhere in American politics today in a way that is nearly impossible to ignore. Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's sweetheart deal, given an open-door 13-month sentence despite evidence of abusing and trafficking scores of girls ("he belongs to intelligence," the prosecutor later claimed he was told), the machinations of the so-called Deep State ("thank God for the Deep State!" ex CIA director John McLaughlin chuckled, live on CSPAN), and the CIA's fomenting of coups around the world are just the tip of a massive iceberg we are told does not exist except in the minds of crazy or backward people - one on which the ship of state has wrecked itself again and again.

Peak Hubris

Capitol Hill
"Hubris" is defined as rash and foolish pride, a dangerous overconfidence, manifested with arrogance. The Deep State vaunts our "exceptionalism", and since Reagan's "City on a HIll" trope Americans have been assured by all succeeding Presidents that ours is the "indispensible nation". The word describes the way America sells itself to the world, and has for generations.

The yawning cognitive gap between our nomenklatura's relentless self-promotion and its pathetic history of botched, humiliating failures in every single act of Imperial overreach, demands examination. Are we at Peak Hubris? When exactly should the hubris of a vicious, lying, sloganeering criminal state be identified as what it is, a cover for unhinged stupidity?

Comment: Chances are, the end of 'pax Americana' will be marked by major global chaos and destruction of several different kinds.
