Blow for Kamala Harris as aide resigns with scathing letter: 'I've never seen staff treated so poorly', 'no plan for the campaign'

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris
A blistering resignation letter from a member of the Kamala Harris campaign paints a picture of low morale among staffers of a directionless campaign with "no real plan to win" ahead of the crucial Iowa caucus in 2020. The Democratic primary challenger faces division among the ranks as the critical Iowa caucus nears.

According to the New York Times, the sentiments expressed in a letter from now-former state operations manager Kelly Mehlenbacher were corroborated by more than 50 current and former campaign staffers and allies, speaking largely on the condition of anonymity to disclose the campaign's many flaws and tactical errors, from focusing on the wrong states to targeting the wrong candidates, as a frustrated campaign staff draws closer to 2020 Democratic primaries, which at one point counted the California Senator as a likely star.

Ms Mehlenbacher's letter came a few days after a November staff meeting during which aides pressed campaign manager Juan Rodriguez about strategy and finances after sweeping layoffs ahead of the campaign's movement in Iowa.
"While I still believe Senator Harris is the strongest candidate. I have never seen an organisation treat its staff so poorly ... I no longer have confidence in our campaign or its leadership. The treatment of our staff over the last two weeks was the final straw."

Comment: Additional from Politico, 15/11/2019: Kamala Harris' campaign in meltdown
Officials said they've become increasingly frustrated at the campaign chief's lack of clarity about what changes have been made to right the ship and Rodriguez' plans to turn the situation around. They hold him responsible for questionable budget decisions, including continuing to bring on new hires shortly before the layoffs began.

"It's a campaign of id. What feels right, what impulse you have right now, what emotion, what frustration. No discipline. No plan. No strategy."

"From the outset of this race, [Rodriguez] has had all the responsibility with none of the authority. He's been managing this race with at least one, if not two, hands tied behind his back," a senior campaign official and longtime Harris hand said of the Rodriguez-Maya Harris dynamic.

One recently departed aide tried to sum up the mess: At the staff level, the person said, "everybody has had to consolidate. Everybody has had to make cuts. And people are pissed. They see a void. They want to push someone out. And I understand that. But the root cause of all of this is that no one was empowered really to make the decisions and make them fast and make them decisively. The apparatus wasted her talent more than she blew it."

The unorthodox composition of the campaign is further complicated by other factors. Rodriguez's California business partners — Ace Smith, Sean Clegg and Laphonza Butler — are senior Harris advisers atop a flat leadership structure.

She has slid into low single digits and is now banking on a top-tier performance in Iowa to pull her back into contention.

Argentina: New president pushes back against IMF nation-stripping and usury agenda

Kirschner and Fernandez
© EIDla
President Alberto Fernandez • Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner
When Christina Fernandez de Kirschner was ousted from power in 2015, many thought that Argentina was lost to the international financiers which her late husband Nestor Kirschner (2003-2007) fought so valiantly against.

The Kirschners together made a powerful team, valiantly fending off the Wall Street/City of London "vulture funds" which act as anti-nation state weapons of the oligarchy, feeding off the carcasses of dead nations whose murder they orchestrate through speculation on malignant debt serviced by draconian austerity and privatisations- all the while preventing all investment into the real economy.

While other Latin American nations fell under this killer policy for decades, Argentina was one of the earliest to fight back in a serious manner beginning with Nestor's application of the sovereign rights of a nation to abolish all un-payable debt- making him and his wife public enemies of the international financier oligarchy. Christina not only continued her husband's struggle amid CIA/MI6-orchestrated slanders of "corruption" across Argentine media which mobilised desperate and uninformed masses to protest against her government, but also opened up the door to large scale infrastructure projects recognising in China the key to Latin America's salvation.

Merkel's wake up call: Coalition is threatened by new leftist leaders

Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel
German Chancellor Angela Merkel's 'Grand Coalition' is under threat from within, as the Social Democrats (SDP) elect new, leftist leaders. Their focus on social justice puts the SDP at odds with Merkel's center-right CDU.

The SDP announced its new leaders on Saturday, following a vote by party members. While Finance Minister Olaf Scholz and Klara Geywitz - allies of Merkel - were tipped to win, the leadership went to leftists Norbert Walter-Borjans and Saskia Esken.

Both politicians have called for higher taxes on the wealthy, more government investment in infrastructure and climate change measures, and increased welfare spending, regardless of whether the country's budget slips into deficit or not.

The pair represent a bloc of SPD voters unhappy with the party's role in Merkel's centrist coalition. While many of these voters would advocate a complete break with the chancellor's Christian Democrats (CDU), Walter-Borjans said he will not leave yet.

"We have always said this is not just about whether we leave immediately or stay in for the duration," he told Phoenix television. "We must improve the policies and perhaps loosen the black zero," he added, a reference to Merkel's insistence on a balanced budget.

Good news for the rest of the planet: Over half of US aircraft carrier in dry dock for repairs

US aircraft carriers

Six of the eleven American aircraft carriers, all of them assigned to port in Norfolk on the US East Coast, are currently non-functional and undergoing either repairs or maintenance, some of which may last for around two years, the media outlet Breaking Defense reported, citing data obtained from the US Navy.

It was reportedly expected that at least one of the East Coast carriers would be functional, but the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) was forced to abandon its mission in September 2019 due to issues with its electric grid and return to Norfolk for repairs.

Various sources gave conflicting assessments of how this impacted processes at the port in interviews with the media outlet. Some of them shared that in order to fix the USS Truman in the shortest time possible, people were reassigned from other tasks and some of the components needed for the repairs were ripped from other carriers stationed in Norfolk.

Comment: It's telling as to the decrepit state of the US that it's the same story throughout, even with its beloved Military Industrial Complex, projects are over budget, past deadlines, and/or faulty upon completion, and it's the same with the cooperative projects, such as that with the US FAA and the deadly Boeing MAX disasters.

Henry Kissinger gets it... US 'exceptionalism' is over

henry kissinger

Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger made prudent remarks recently when he said the United States is no longer a uni-power and that it must recognize the reality of China as an equal rival.

The furor over a new law passed by the US this week regarding Hong Kong and undermining Beijing's authority underlines Kissinger's warning.

If the US cannot find some modus vivendi with China, then the outcome could be a catastrophic conflict worst than any previous world war, he admonished.

Speaking publicly in New York on November 14, the veteran diplomat urged the US and China to resolve their ongoing economic tensions cooperatively and mutually, adding: "It is no longer possible to think that one side can dominate the other."

Convenient London Bridge Terrorist Attack Occurs Two Weeks Before General Election: UPDATES

London bridge attack 2019

Comment: 3 weeks ago Joe Quinn posted this on Facebook:
"I'll make a little prediction now, that if there is another "Muslim terror attack" in the UK before the Dec. 12th general election, it will be pretty clear evidence that the British establishment, as represented (as always) by the Conservative party, uses "Muslim terrorism" to maintain their position in power.

Why? Because "Muslim terrorism" was THE reason that a majority of British people voted for Brexit. If that reason were to be brought back, front and center, it would likely swing a general election vote in favor of the Conservatives, with the people thinking that by voting for the Conservatives they are voting for "Brexit" (and an end to immigration) when they are merely voting for 5 more years of Conservative party rule (and the continued destruction of the NHS)."
Today...

The man shot by police on London Bridge has died at the scene, Britain's top counter-terrorism officer told reporters. The suspect was strapped with a fake bomb and the incident is being treated as a terrorist attack.

Police shot the suspect dead, after he stabbed multiple people near London Bridge on Friday, Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu told reporters that afternoon. The man died at the scene.

"This is a terrorist incident," Basu told reporters, adding that investigators believe the man was wearing a hoax explosive vest.

Comment: And that attack in 2017 just happened to occur one week before the last UK general election...

UPDATE 20:00 CET

Here's video footage of the police shooting the suspect dead:

UPDATE 20:30 CET

Police have confirmed the 'stabber-jihadist' killed two people. Here's a still from video footage of him apparently showing his 'fake suicide vest':

Interestingly, the three 'London Bridge stabber-jihadists' two years ago were also wearing fake suicide vests:

UPDATE 11:30 CET

The London Times is reporting that 'stabber-jihadist' had previously served jail-time for an "Islamist terrorism-related offence," was released from prison about a year ago, and "agreed to wear an electronic tag as part of his bail conditions."

It's been noted in past attacks that 'lone-wolf jihadists' were either 'radicalized' in prison or - more specifically - went on a rampage soon after leaving prison walls.

UPDATE NOV 30

Not only was the stabber - 28-year-old Usman Khan - previously convicted in 2012 for terrorism offenses; the violence began at a Cambridge-sponsored "prisoner rehabilitation" conference where Khan was expected to speak, among other ex-cons...

Khan was released in December of last year. He had apparently plotted to attack the London Stock Exchange in 2010.

Johnson has pledged to bolster prison sentences for serious crimes as a result: "I think that the practice of automatic, early release where you cut a sentence in half and let really serious, violent offenders out early simply isn't working, and you've some very good evidence of how that isn't working, I am afraid, with this case." Unsurprisingly, the BBC has backed down from its beef with BoJo - agreeing for him to appear on the Andrew Marr show, even though they had previously said he wouldn't appear unless he agreed to speak with Andrew Neil.

On a lighter note, the fact that one of the citizens who confronted and subdued Khan used a narwhal tusk has caught the public's attention. The man - a Polish chef named Luckasz - was at the conference with Khan. After Khan started attacking people, Luckasz grabbed the tusk from a wall in the building. He can be seen in the footage brandishing the makeshift spear.

Unsurprisingly, IS laid claim to the knife rampage on Saturday, according to SITE Intelligence Group, which we suppose you could call the PR group for ISIS's PR group, as they're usually the only ones to publish statements from Amaq. SITE Director Rita Katz noted that the attack "bore IS-inspired hallmarks." There is, however, no evidence to support the claim from what the UK police have so far shared with the public.

The claim was broadcast through the group's Amaq News Agency, a propaganda outlet that disseminates its message through apps like Telegram. Europol announced that it had successfully removed "a significant portion of key actors within the IS network" from the platform. The coordinated effort saw the jihadist-linked accounts being removed from Telegram "at an impressive pace" in the days ahead of the London attack.

UPDATE DEC 1

Johnson has revealed that 74 convicted terrorists are roaming the streets of the UK after being granted early release from prison.
Johnson: "I am sure that people can imagine that what we are doing with the other 74 individuals is to ensure that they are being properly invigilated to ensure that there is no threat and we took that action because we were concerned ... If you are convicted of a serious terrorist offence, there should be a mandatory minimum sentence of 14 years - and some should never be released."
Corbyn's take:
Speaking to Sky on Sunday, veteran peace campaigner Corbyn said people convicted of terrorism offences should "not necessarily" serve their full prison terms because it depended on the circumstances of their imprisonment. "I think there has to be an examination of how our prison services work and, crucially, what happens to them on release from prison." The probation service had failed to monitor Khan after his release...and there should be a "full investigation" into the circumstances around Khan's sentence and subsequent release.
The two victims have now been identified: 23-year-old Saskia Jones and 25-year-old Jack Merritt, who worked rehabilitating criminals, and who was coordinating the conference which Khan was attending:
Sometime during the scheduled storytelling and creative writing workshops, Khan's rampage began. Merritt and another woman were stabbed to death, three others were injured, and Khan was subdued by members of the public on London Bridge - which reportedly included some of the convicts attending the workshop - before police officers shot him dead at point blank range. He wore a fake suicide vest under his jacket, and had reportedly threatened to "blow up" the conference building.

Merritt's father described him in a tweet as a "beautiful spirit" and "champion for underdogs everywhere," while colleagues paid tribute to his work with offenders.

Jack "was the sweetest, most caring and selfless individual I've ever met," criminology lecturer Serena Wright said. Suffolk Law Centre Director Audrey Ludwig praised his "deep commitment to prisoner education and rehabilitation."
The father of Jack Merritt said this: "My son, Jack, who was killed in this attack, would not wish his death to be used as the pretext for more draconian sentences or for detaining people unnecessarily."

The judge that handed down Khan's prison sentence in 2012 warned that he was a "serious jihadi" who should not be eligible for early release from prison. Here's Khan on the BBC in 2008 after a raid on his apartment:

However, he was arrested two years later for plotting to blow up the London Stock Exchange, kill then-Mayor Boris Johnson, bomb a series of London pubs, and establish a terror training camp on family land in Kashmir.

Business Insider unearths Boris Johnson column from 2005 where he says poorest 20% made of up 'chavs, burglars, addicts, losers'

Boris Johnson
© AFP
Boris Johnson wrote that the poorest 20% of British society is made-up of "chavs," "losers," "burglars," "drug addicts," and "criminals," in a newspaper column unearthed by Business Insider.

Johnson, who was a Conservative MP and editor of the Spectator magazine at the time, wrote in the Telegraph in 2005 that poorer voters who live on "run-down estates," only continued to vote for Labour due to the "deluded hope of bigger hand-outs."

He added that this "bottom" one-fifth of British citizens "supplies us with the chavs, the losers, the burglars, the drug addicts and the 70,000 people who are lost in our prisons and learning nothing except how to become more effective criminals."

In an aside aimed at his political opponents, he said that some Labour MPs only wanted to ban the smacking of children due to their "revulsion when they see a chav belting her kids in the supermarket."

Earlier this week, it emerged that Johnson had labelled the children of single mothers "ill-raised, ignorant, aggressive and illegitimate," and accused their fathers of being too "feeble" to "take control of [their] woman."

Labour's David Lammy told Business Insider that Johnson's comments revealed a "disdain for working-class people across the UK."

Comment: Despite his social position, Johnson has no class.

Busted: Propaganda outfit Bellingcat fabricated evidence, deliberately hid documents to push new 'Russian spy plot'

One of the documents, which Bellingcat deliberately hides, is a diplomatic note from the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, dated 5 May 2015. The Bulgarian authorities approve a diplomatic flight with weapons from Burgas to Adana in Turkey. The exporter is Emco, LTD, Bulgaria, according to documents from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria.

Bellingcat, an online investigation organization headed by Eliot Higgins, has deliberately and with malicious intent manipulated evidence by hiding crucially important documents in order to slander me as a journalist and misrepresent my investigation, 350 flights carry weapons for terrorists, as "intentionally incorrect".

Comment: Indeed, Dilyana Gaytandzhieva has proven to be one of the world's premiere investigative journalists of the arms smuggling trade. Eliot Higgins and Bellingcat have only discredited themselves futher with this latest slander on Ms.Gaytandzhieva's work. It would be most interesting to see Higgins try to defend himself in court. As for Mr. Higgins, one only needs to check Bellingcat's focus and background to see the real agenda

Joint naval maneuvers between Iran, Russia, China to begin in December

Hossein Khanzadi

Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, Iran's naval chief, said maneuvers with Russia and China will start in December.
The commander of Iran's navy has confirmed that his forces will participate in joint exercises with Russia and China beginning later this year.

Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi on November 30 said the maneuvers will be held in the northern Indian Ocean from December 22 to January 20.

The admiral's statement did not give a specific location for the maneuvers, although some media reports said they would be in the Gulf of Oman, site of several recent naval incidents and where Western escort missions are active or about to start.

"The aim of those exercises is to ensure collective security and help boost the security in the northern part of the Indian Ocean, where various incidents, including pirate attacks, are taking place," Iran's Tasnim news agency quoted the admiral as saying.

Two days earlier, Khanzadi had said the exercises would take place in the "near future" and that the joint operation would "send a message to the world," according to Iran's Mehr news agency.

"A joint war game between several countries, whether on land, at sea, or in the air, indicates a remarkable expansion of cooperation."

"[The maneuvers] carry the same message to the world, that these three countries have reached a meaningful strategic point in their relations," he added.

Some good news: Canada foreign policy to shift as crazed neocon Chrystia Freeland is replaced by pro-Chinese politico

Chrystia Freeland
© News 1130
Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland
In Chrystia Freeland's 2012 book Plutocrats, Canada's leading Rhodes Scholar laid out a surprisingly clear analysis of the two camps of elites who she explained would, by their very nature, battle for control of the newly emerging system as the old paradigm collapsed.

In her book and article series, she described the "practical populist politician" which has tended to be adherent to business interests and personal gain during past decades vs the new breed of "technocrat" which has an enlightened non-practical (ie: Malthusian) worldview, willing to make monetary sacrifices for the "greater good".

She further defined the "good Plutocrats" vs "bad Plutocrats". Good Plutocrats included the likes of George Soros, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos who made their billions under the free-for-all epoch of globalization, but who were willing to adapt to the new rules of the post-globalization game. This was a game which she defined in an absurd 2013 TED Talk as a "green New Deal" of global regulation under a de-carbonized (and depopulated) green economy. For those "bad plutocrats" unwilling to play by the new rules (ie: the Trumps, Putins or any industrialist who refused to commit seppuku on the altar of Gaia), they would simply go extinct. This threat was re-packaged by Canada's "other" globalist puppet Mark Carney, who recently said "If some companies and industries fail to adjust to this new world, they will fail to exist."
