Biker gang assault in New York was led by undercover cop who regularly snitches on Occupy Wall Street activists for Feds

Image
State agent provocateur: NYPD detective Wojciech Braszczok
When 20-year-old New York photographer Shay Horse dropped by his first Occupy Wall Street march on May 23rd, 2012, a friendly fellow protester approached him and started making small talk. "He just asked me what my name was, what my involvement was, pretty general stuff," Horse says. From then on, Horse ran into the protestor, whom he knew only knew as "Al," at practically every Occupy Wall Street event. He even invited him to his birthday party. But it turns out "Al" was actually an undercover cop, 32 year-old NYPD detective Wojciech Braszczok.

Braszczok's cover was blown in the aftermath of the bizarre SUV vs. motorcycle viral video. He was arrested today after he was seen on a new video punching the SUV among the gang of motoryclists in Manhattan, according to NBC New York. He was off duty at the time, but was charged with riot and criminal mischief. NBC reported that in five years of working undercover he'd infiltrated the Occupy Wall Street movement. This set the OWS community hunting for recollections of the dark-haired guy with the mohawk: "Al," or "Albert."

Comment: There you have it folks. While ordinary people struggle to make ends meet, the state's agents are living high on the hog, breaking laws left and right - all in the name of 'protecting' you, of course.

Libyan PM freed after capture by former rebels over U.S. raid

Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan spent several hours in captivity after a 'former rebel' militia kidnapped him from a Tripoli hotel in retaliation for his apparent cooperation with a US anti-terror raid.

After Zeidan was freed by his captors unharmed, he urged another militia group who helped in his release to join the regular armed forces.

"Libyans need wisdom ... not escalation ... to deal with this situation," Zeidan said during a televised cabinet meeting.

The AP believes that government forces may have intervened, as it appeared that Zeidan's abductors were not willing to let him go.

A militia commander with ties to the Interior Ministry told a private news channel that another Tripoli-based militia intervened by storming the house where Zeidan was kept, securing his release.

The commander of the intervening militia - calling itself the 'Reinforcement Force' - spoke to Al-Hurrah television, recounting a gun fight in which his men attacked the building and freed Zeidan without any harm coming to him.

Security sources first told local media on Thursday morning that armed units grabbed Zeidan from the Corinthia Hotel in the Libyan capital and took him to an unknown location, Reuters says. The reports were later confirmed by a government statement, but government officials could not be reached for comment at the time.

The Bricso vs. the U.S. Dollar: What will happen to the global economy if BRICS announce launch of new currency?

For several decades, we've been told by the mainstream media that the West has a firm grip on the word's economy and that America decides the future of the world. Peter Koenig, former World Bank economist and Voice of Russia regular, outlines one of the scenarios in which America's plans for a New World Order are broken. This is the first part of the series about "How to dismate the New World Order".

Imagine - it is December 31, 2013. The Presidents of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) plus Iran and Venezuela call an impromptu press conference - in Paris - to present a 'Sea of Change in Economics,' as they call it. The announcement was circulated throughout the international media and diplomatic offices and embassies just a day before - an indication of urgency. Despite it being the last day of the year with most people thinking of their year-end festivities, the event calls the attention of many - especially the world of finance - and of course the media. The press meeting is planned for 18:00 at the Dolce Chantilly, in Chantilly, just 40 minutes from the center of Paris.

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia stuns journalist with candid views on heaven, hell and satan

Antonin Scalia
© Associated PressSupreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia speaks as part of a lecture series at Tufts University, Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, in Medford, Mass. Scalia, who has served on the nation's highest court since 1986 following a nomination by President Ronald Reagan, spoke about interpreting the U.S. Constitution.
Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia isn't afraid to make known his views on controversial issues like gay marriage and abortion, which is why his faith-based comments during a candid interview with New York Magazine were perfectly within his character.

The conversation about heaven, hell and Satan began when writer Jennifer Senior asked Scalia if he ever considers the legacy he will one day leave. Responding that he isn't too concerned about what people will think once he's dead and gone, the justice went on to share his theological views.

This most fascinating portion of the interview began when Senior asked if he believes in the afterlife. Scalia answered affirmatively and turned the question around, asking the reporter, "Don't you believe in heaven and hell?"

To his surprise, she said she doesn't. But that didn't stop him from noting that her non-belief won't necessarily exempt her from going to one of those places after she dies.

"It doesn't mean you're not going to hell, just because you don't believe in it," he told Senior. "That's Catholic doctrine! Everyone is going one place or the other."

But rather than espousing a holier than thou mantra, Scalia acknowledged that no one knows the definitive fate of other human beings.

"I don't even know whether Judas Iscariot is in hell. I mean, that's what the pope meant when he said, 'Who am I to judge?,'" he continued. "He may have recanted and had severe penance just before he died. Who knows?"

At that point, Senior was apparently ready to move on from the theological discussion, but Scalia's unprompted admission that he believes in Satan - and that the Devil is a real person - sparked additional dialogue.

Comment: It's scary that this man sits in the highest court of the U.S.

'Aggressive and insidious': More details of Canada spying techniques to follow, Greenwald promises

Canada is in the spotlight of an ongoing spying scandal as Glenn Greenwald has promised to disclose more details of the espionage of the Five Eyes global intelligence alliance that has already sparked unprecedented fury in Brazil.

American journalist Glenn Greenwald has promised to leak more secret cables he obtained from Edward Snowden in a series of interviews conducted on Monday.

"There is a huge amount of stuff about Canada in these archives because Canada works so closely with the NSA," Greenwald, who lives in Brazil told the Globe and Mail.

Without providing details into the soon to be revealed secret documents, Greenwald suggested that the new material will shed more light into Canada's global spying activities, including economic and industrial espionage against Brazil, which has been at the center of the recent scandal.

Torture, assassination and 'higher education': UK and Uzbekistan regimes cement anti-human partnership

Image
© Prakash Singh/AFPUzbekistan's president, Islam Karimov, leads a country strategically vital to western interests in Afghanistan.
Foreign Office and British Council support closer links to Karimov regime despite widespread and repeated allegations of mass shootings, torture and forced labour

A string of British universities has established links with higher education institutions in a country whose human rights record is widely condemned as one of the worst in the world, with the full support of the British government.

One - the University of Westminster - has set up a campus in Uzbekistan and at least five others - Cambridge, Bath, the University of East Anglia, the London College of Fashion and London Metropolitan University - have established partnerships with colleges in the country.

The links were supported by the British Council and welcomed by the Foreign Office in the years after the 9/11 attacks as the UK tried to bolster relations with a strategically critical central Asian state that had formerly been a part of the Soviet Union, and which is a key transit point in Nato's supply lines to Afghanistan.

During that period, Uzbekistan's human rights record remained abysmal, according to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch (HRW), and is said in some respects to have deteriorated. Several hundred demonstrators were shot dead in 2005; Muslims who practise their religion outside state controls continue to face imprisonment and torture, as do the country's small number of Jehovah's Witnesses; human rights activists and journalists are frequently imprisoned on false charges; more than a million people are mobilised for forced labour each year.

In 2002 there were reports - considered by both the Foreign Office and US state department to be credible - that two members of a banned Islamist party had been boiled alive.

Monsanto's winning the World Food Prize??

Image
In an obscene development, a Monsanto executive is winning this year's "Nobel Prize of agriculture" - the prestigious World Food Prize - for creating GMOs. Receiving it legitimizes the sort of rampant genetic modification Monsanto pioneered, and helps validate a ruthless business model that impoverishes farmers and monopolizes our food.

If that wasn't baffling enough, the founder of Syngenta, the same biotech giant joining Bayer in suing Europe to keep selling bee-killing pesticides, will also win the prize - and with it, a share of the $250,000 prize money. We cannot allow this prize to legitimize frankenfoods and bee killers. The ceremony is in less than two weeks, so we need to act now.

The Anti-Empire Report #121

The War on Terrorism ... or whatever.
"U.S. hopes of winning more influence over Syria's divided rebel movement faded Wednesday after 11 of the biggest armed factions repudiated the Western-backed political opposition coalition and announced the formation of an alliance dedicated to creating an Islamist state. The al-Qaeda-affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra, designated a terrorist organization by the United States, is the lead signatory of the new group." 1
Pity the poor American who wants to be a good citizen, wants to understand the world and his country's role in it, wants to believe in the War on Terrorism, wants to believe that his government seeks to do good ... What is he to make of all this?

For about two years, his dear American government has been supporting the same anti-government side as the jihadists in the Syrian civil war; not total, all-out support, but enough military hardware, logistics support, intelligence information, international political, diplomatic and propaganda assistance (including the crucial alleged-chemical-weapons story), to keep the jihadists in the ball game. Washington and its main Mideast allies in the conflict - Turkey, Jordan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia - have not impeded the movement to Syria of jihadists coming to join the rebels, recruited from the ranks of Sunni extremist veterans of the wars in Chechnya, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya, while Qatar and the Saudis have supplied the rebels with weapons, most likely bought in large measure from the United States, as well as lots of of what they have lots of - money.

This widespread international support has been provided despite the many atrocities carried out by the jihadists - truck and car suicide bombings (with numerous civilian casualties), planting roadside bombs à la Iraq, gruesome massacres of Christians and Kurds, grotesque beheadings and other dissections of victims' bodies (most charming of all: a Youtube video of a rebel leader cutting out an organ from the chest of a victim and biting into it as it drips with blood). All this barbarity piled on top of a greater absurdity - these Western-backed, anti-government forces are often engaged in battle with other Western-backed, anti-government forces, non-jihadist. It has become increasingly difficult to sell this war to the American public as one of pro-democracy "moderates" locked in a good-guy-versus-bad-guy struggle with an evil dictator, although in actuality the United States has fought on the same side as al Qaeda on repeated occasions before Syria. Here's a brief survey:

Afghanistan, 1980-early 1990s: In support of the Islamic Moujahedeen ("holy warriors"), the CIA orchestrated a war against the Afghan government and their Soviet allies, pouring in several billions of dollars of arms and extensive military training; hitting up Middle-Eastern countries for donations, notably Saudi Arabia which gave hundreds of millions of dollars in aid each year; pressuring and bribing Pakistan to rent out its country as a military staging area and sanctuary.

It worked. And out of the victorious Moujahedeen came al Qaeda.

Pentagon withholding death benefits for fallen soldiers' families

Fallen Soldiers
© Breitbart.com
The Pentagon has confirmed it will not pay death benefits to the families of troops killed in combat during the so-called government shutdown.

With Obama's recent startling admission that he won't approve any measures to partially restore suspended government payments for purely political reasons, that puts the blame for this outrage squarely on his shoulders.
"Unfortunately, as a result of the shutdown, we do not have the legal authority to make death gratuity payments at this time," said Lt. Cmdr. Nate Christensen, a Defense Department spokesman. "However, we are keeping a close eye on those survivors who have lost loved ones serving in the Department of Defense."
The House intends to vote Wednesday to restore funding for the payments.

Best of the Web: Mind Kontrol? D.C. unarmed woman murdered

Image
Miriam's family and friends are demanding answers
The best compilation yet of the most controversial footage, proof that we are being lied to. This woman was murdered in cold blood. Will her family ever find justice? This footage shows that there was a second adult in the car. It also shows that her car had no front or rear damage which is odd considering she supposedly drove into concrete barriers by the White House. Why did the cops kill her when they could have just tased her? A witness came out on CNN and said that she saw the cops pull the child out of the car right before they opened fire. How can ANYONE justify this? Some could say that she broke the law but since when was the death penalty proper justice? We hope you can manage to rest in peace Miriam Carey. We're going to do our best to help you try!

Comment: We are less certain than the narrator that two adults can be seen in the speeding car. If you look at people in the foreground, they too appear to have two heads because the video speed has been slowed down.

In the meantime, who will stand up for Miriam Carey, murdered in cold blood by state thugs?
