Ukrainian officials stole $490 million meant for military - MP

Nearly $500 million given to Kiev for the construction of defensive fortifications to repel Russia's advance has been embezzled or stolen, media reported on Sunday, citing Mikhail Bondar, a member of the Ukrainian parliament.

Ukrainian law enforcement authorities have launched around 30 criminal proceedings linked to the embezzlement of 20 billion hryvnias ($491 million), Bondar told lawmakers at a closed-door session of the parliamentary investigative commission on fortifications, according to multiple media reports. In the absence of defensive fortifications, Russian forces have made rapid advances in the country.

"Members of the commission from Servants of the People [Ukraine's ruling party], when they heard such figures, immediately tried to defend the managers of the funds," Bondar said. However, he claimed that the "lion's share" of the funds had been disbursed through Ukraine's military and civil authorities, which the MP described as the "vertical of the president."

Ukrainian lawmakers have urged the defense ministry, as well as local military authorities, to provide information on the use of budget funds for the construction of defenses.

Last month, Ukrainian media reported that military and civilian authorities in Kharkov Region had paid millions of dollars to fake companies for the supply of non-existent construction materials to build fortifications.

Allowing a Russian victory in the conflict would deprive America of access to vast mineral resources, Lindsey Graham says

Washington "cannot afford" to allow Russia to achieve victory in the Ukraine conflict as this would mean losing direct access to vast mineral assets, US Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) has said.

In an interview with 'Face the Nation' on CBS on Sunday, Graham accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of being a "megalomaniac" who is attempting to "re-create the Russian Empire by force of arms," starting with Ukraine. He further claimed that if Moscow wins the current conflict, it will then take over Ukraine's wealth and share it with China. Graham described that prospect as "ridiculous," suggesting it would be better if this "gold mine" were available to the US instead.

"They're sitting on 10 to $12 trillion of critical minerals in Ukraine. They could be the richest country in all of Europe... If we help Ukraine now, they can become the best business partner we ever dreamed of, that $10 to $12 trillion of critical mineral assets could be used by Ukraine and the West, not given to Putin and China," Graham stated.


Comment: When Lindsey Graham talks of business partner, it is not a partnership that is a win-win but rather one where the US can 'steal' the resources, paying a symbolic price and a few bribes to the installed puppets. It is not a deal which will aid the Ukrainian people whom Graham is happy to be sacrificed to the last Ukrainian to achieve the US colonial goals.

These Democrats grew anxious as over 140 House Republicans planned to contest the election results during the electoral college certification that day. National Guard on January 6, Colonel Earl Matthews, one of four Department of Defense witnesses, testified about an "irrational" fear among a "clique" of senior military officers concerning the potential misuse of the National Guard by the president. He indicated that these concerns were influenced behind the scenes by Milley, who often made disparaging remarks about the president and regularly referred to his fear of a so-called potential "Reichstag moment."

Western countries want to inflict a military defeat on Russia in order to gain access to its national wealth, as they attempted to do back in 1990s, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in an interview to HirTV.

"Western leaders, who are on the war path, want to defeat Russia militarily. Their plan is simple, because it is all about the money, which gives them clout and power," he said, when asked why the West was determined have a military victory over Russia in Ukraine.

Orban recalled the period of the 1990s, when "Europeans were welcomed in Russia and managed to infiltrate the Russian economy, meeting no resistance." In his opinion, the West tried to exploit Russia during that period, but "the Russians eventually took all matters into their own hands and transformed everything the way they saw fit."

Comment: And not only Russia's wealth; because Russia's 'soul' poses a significant threat to the establishment's more sinister, ideological agenda: Hungary does, too, only to a significantly lesser degree:



Viktor Orbán: "The decisions that are made despite our protests are bringing us step by step closer to war.

If you remember two years ago, when the war began, I remember how the German Chancellor sat there and said that we would only give helmets, that there was no question of the Germans giving the Ukrainians equipment that could kill people.

He also said that yes, yes, of course, there should be sanctions, but energy is out of the question, you cannot impose sanctions on energy.

By comparison: German tanks are now rushing across Ukraine, German and other Western European anti-aircraft missile systems are being deployed, fighter-bombers are being delivered, and sanctions are destroying the European economy.

So if we move at the pace at which we have been moving over the past two years, then it will not be an exaggeration to say that we are centimeters away from reaching the last and final stage, when soldiers, Western European or American soldiers, will appear on the territory of Ukraine, so that we are inches away from direct confrontation at the moment.

Judicial Watch announced today it received 54 pages of records from the Department of Justice in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit which show the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Office of Congressional Affairs (OCA) provided a Democrat staffer with information on FBI whistleblowers who detailed the bureau's targeting of political opponents and retaliation for their testifying at a May 18, 2023, hearing of the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.

A May 23, 2023, email from Damon Marx, senior counsel in the office of New York Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman, shows that the FBI provided documents apparently pertaining to the whistleblowers that were "very helpful" to Goldman.

Marx writes to an FBI Office of Congressional Affairs (OCA) official whose name is redacted:
We spoke last week before the Weaponization hearing on Thursday. Thanks again for sending over those documents. They were very helpful to the Congressman.

Hamburg MP Olga Petersen has sought refuge in Russia, telling Bild that she feared having her children taken by the German state over her perceived support for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Petersen left Hamburg with her children last month, prompting widespread speculation about her whereabouts. Several weeks before her disappearance, her party - the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) - expelled her from its Hamburg faction for traveling to Russia as an election observer in March and declaring the vote "open, democratic, and free."

House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk intends to send a letter to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis seeking information about an interview her office allegedly conducted with key Jan. 6 Committee witness Cassidy Hutchinson.

The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the letter in which Loudermilk requests to review copies of all communications between Hutchinson and the Fulton County DA's office. The Subcommittee has obtained messages showing that Willis' office tried to reach Hutchinson, but it remains unclear exactly what was said and how much information was exchanged.

"I write to you today to request your cooperation in my investigation into the security failures at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. Based on information recovered by this Subcommittee, we have reason to believe that your office interviewed Ms. Cassidy Hutchinson, who also provided testimony to the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol ('Select Committee')," Loudermilk, who represents Georgia's 11th congressional district, wrote in the letter. "The testimony provided by Ms. Hutchinson in the course of your investigation is relevant to our evaluation of her testimony and the direct implications her testimony has on the security of the United States Capitol."

An American unit in Israel supported the efforts to rescue four Israeli hostages in the central Gaza strip, CNN reported Saturday citing a US official.

"An American cell in Israel supported the efforts to rescue four Israeli hostages, working with Israeli forces on the operation," the official told CNN.

CNN previously reported that Israel prepared for weeks for Saturday's operation, with hundreds of personnel from the Israeli military, the domestic intelligence service and a special police unit involved.

Earlier Saturday, Israel said that it retrieved four Israeli hostages from the central Gaza Strip after a military operation in the area.

Comment: Andalou reports on the Nuseirat camp massacre that occurred amidst the hostage rescue:
"The Israeli special forces used a closed transport truck and a civilian vehicle in the infiltration operation to retrieve the hostages," the sources told Anadolu.

"These transport vehicles are widespread in the Gaza Strip and are used to transport humanitarian aid during the Israeli war," they added.

According to witnesses, Israeli military vehicles unexpectedly advanced into areas east and northwest of the Nuseirat camp, coinciding with heavy artillery bombardment targeting large areas of the camp.

Some 210 Palestinians were killed and more than 400 injured on Saturday in severe Israeli airstrikes targeting Nuseirat refugee camp, areas east of Deir al-Balah, and al-Bureij and al-Maghazi camps in central Gaza, coinciding with a sudden incursion of vehicles east and northwest of Nuseirat.
Western leaders praise the rescue and failed to mention the massacre; Al Jazeera reports:
Scholz ignores Nuseirat massacre, says operation 'sign of hope'

According to the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Saturday, 4 Israeli captives being retrieved alive is an "important sign of hope."

The chancellor made no mention of the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in order for the 4 captives to have been released, or the 210 Palestinians who were brutally killed.

Heartbreaking videos were shared on social media depicting dozens of martyrs, including children, killed by the Israeli indiscriminate bombing of the Nuseirat Refugee camp. Many of the martyrs have been turned into pieces scattered across the streets of the camp.


"An important sign of hope -- in particular for the numerous Israeli families who continue to fear for those close to them. Four hostages are now free," Scholz wrote on X.


Missing from the translation is the last part of the tweet: 'Hamas must finally release all hostages. The war must end.'

No mention of the fears of Gazans. No mention of the massacre. One might conclude that Scholz perceives Palestinians, and their fears, as of lesser import than those of Israelis.


Following "Israel's" assault on the Nuseirat refugee camp on Saturday which killed at least 210 Palestinians, the US President Joe Biden has not only not condemned the aggression but on the contrary, celebrated the retrieval of 4 Israeli captives during the strike.

Congratulating the Israeli families for the release of the captives with French President Emmanuel Macron, Biden stated that the US "won't stop working until all the hostages are home and a ceasefire is reached. That's essential to happen."

According to the correspondent, dozens of Israeli rockets targeted civilian homes in Nuseirat camp. Many women and children are among the casualties being transported to the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital using animal-drawn carts and private vehicles due to the dire circumstances of the healthcare system.

There are reports of many dead and wounded who have not yet been reached by ambulances. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the death toll from the bombardment currently stands at 60 and is expected to continue rising. However, our correspondent has reported upwards of 80 martyrs.

According to Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza, an Israeli special force had infiltrated Nuseirat Camp. Upon the force's discovery by the Resistance, heavy confrontations ensued. According to our correspondent, it was the discovery of the force that led to this heavy Israeli shelling and the massacre in the camp.

How the Nuseirat Massacre unfolded:

Israel used the US-built 'humanitarian pier' to sneak in a unit of Israeli soldiers, and reportedly American soldiers. The soldiers boarded a humanitarian aid truck and drove to Nuseirat refugee camp.

Once inside, they were discovered by Palestinians, which resulted in nonstop Israeli aerial bombardment and the soldiers opening fire inside the central market, killing over 210 Palestinians and injuring hundreds.

The 'humanitarian pier' gets exposed to be an occupation, assassination, and massacre pier.

The Americans cannot be trusted under any circumstances. A humanitarian pier built under the guise of helping hungry and starving Palestinians, was actually used to massacre them.

Every day the US' colonial barbarism gets revealed to be more and more horrific.
An Israeli news anchor was allegedly fired for highlighting the good health of the hostages. Granted part of the comment is rather tasteless, however, throughout this genocide, that's never been a problem for Israel's media bosses:
