All Trump, no Harris: A look at the Democratic Party's puzzling new platform

The policy document includes a host of promises for Joe Biden's "second term".

Democratic delegates have voted to approve the party's 2024 platform. The 94-page document still states that President Joe Biden is running for office, mentions Donald Trump more than Kamala Harris, and includes multiple false and misleading claims.

The 91-page document was compiled in July and published on Sunday. In a largely symbolic vote at the Democratic National Convention on Monday, it was approved as the party's official platform for the next four years.

1. A woke introduction

The platform opens with a so-called "land acknowledgement," declaring that the US is made up of "lands that have been stewarded through many centuries by the ancestors and descendants of Tribal Nations who have been here since time immemorial."

"While we meet in Chicago, we also recognize and honor the traditional homelands of the Anishinaabe, also known as the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations," it continues, before listing off other Native American tribes hailing from the Chicago region.

Comment: They can say anything...none of it matters. There is no 'whitewash' strong enough nor thick enough to disguise the F-Ups of this administration.

Lavrov accuses West of 'childish babble'

The Russian foreign minister has dismissed claims that Vladimir Zelensky decided to attack Kursk Region without Washington having ordered it

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky would not have attacked Russia's Kursk Region unless he had direct orders from the US, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Speaking to Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin on Monday, the foreign minister stated that throughout the Ukraine conflict, Washington's attempts to deny responsibility for Kiev's actions have "evolved" from claiming it has nothing to do with them to accusing Ukrainian military commanders of disobeying orders.

"Listen, this is childish babble," Lavrov said. "Everyone understands perfectly well that Zelensky would never have decided on this if the United States had not instructed him to do this."

From the same source, there was an article with a summary of what The Economist published.

Ukraine's top general attacked Kursk out of desperation - Economist
Aleksandr Syrsky was on the verge of being sacked as Kiev's forces yielded territory in Donbass, sources have claimed to the outlet

Ukraine's top commander, Aleksandr Syrsky, planned and ordered the attack on Russia's Kursk Region in a last-ditch attempt to avoid being fired, The Economist reported on Sunday. Kiev also reportedly did not inform its Western backers about its plans, for fear that they would order the operation to be scrapped, or that the details would be leaked.

According to sources familiar with the planning for Ukraine's largest cross-border incursion to date, Syrsky was on the verge of being sacked just weeks before the operation began because of the crumbling front in Donbass.

The Economist noted that Syrsky, who assumed his post in February, was "grappling with a less-than-ideal inheritance" from his predecessor, Valery Zaluzhny, as well as delays in Western support. In addition, he was reportedly under pressure from Vladimir Zelensky's influential chief of staff, Andrey Yermak.

As tensions mounted, Syrsky devised what The Economist described as "a daring gamble born of desperation," with several scenarios on the table. These included attacks on the Kursk or Bryansk border regions, or a combination of both. "The main objective was to draw [Russian] troops away from the Donbass stranglehold, and to create bargaining chips for any future negotiation," the article stated.

The commander also reportedly committed to the highest degree of secrecy, discussing plans only with a select group of officials and informing Vladimir Zelensky of progress only on a one-on-one basis. This also meant that "Western allies were... deliberately left in the dark," The Economist reported.

"Syrsky had two previous operations undermined by the West. One was leaked to the Russians, and on another occasion, we were instructed to abort," The Economist source said. Regarding the alleged leak, this may have referred to the 2023 summer counteroffensive that ended in failure for Ukrainian troops. Zelensky claimed in February that plans for the operation had been "on the Kremlin's table even before [it] began."

The Economist noted that "presented with a fait accompli, the West did not object." Numerous Western officials have voiced support for the attack on Russia, arguing that Kiev has "the right to self-defense."

The US has insisted that it was not involved in the preparation of the Kursk incursion. However, former Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev has argued that Kiev would never have dared to launch such an operation without Washington's backing, adding that NATO supplied Ukraine with weapons, military instructors, and intelligence.

As the fighting rages on in Kursk Region, The Economist cited Ukrainian soldiers as saying that they "are already beginning to see a different level of resistance," with losses mounting.

While Kiev's forces had occupied a part of the border area, the Russian Defense Ministry has said the advance has been halted. According to Moscow, Ukraine has lost more than 3,400 service members and around 400 armored vehicles in the incursion.
It is important for the West to deny too much involvement in Ukraine, and what the western media writes is part of the campaign which possibly is more for the sake of manipulating their audience, though it does not mean that none of what is written is true. For instance, in the article above, it is likely that the plans about the move were kept quite secret.

Chinese premier visits Russia to discuss partnership and 'sign documents expanding cooperation'

Chinese Premier Li Qiang
Chinese Premier Li Qiang
Chinese Premier Li Qiang said here on Tuesday that his visit to Russia is aimed at implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state, carrying forward the enduring friendship from generation to generation, and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.

Li made the remarks in a statement released upon arrival. Li arrived here to chair the 29th regular meeting between Chinese and Russian heads of government and visit Russia at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Comment: Andalou Agency provides more detail:
Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Tuesday arrived in Russia's capital Moscow on a three-day official visit.

The Russian state news agency TASS reported Li's arrival at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport, where he was greeted by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko and other officials from both countries.

The report further said both sides are expected to discuss prospects for developing and expanding their partnership and cooperation, as well as sign several documents.

It also said Li is expected to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin and President Vladimir Putin.

On Monday, China announced that Li will travel to Moscow to preside over the 29th regular meeting between the Chinese and Russian heads of government.
Voice of America reports that Li is also due to visit ally of both nations, Belarus.

One assumes that more detail about these evidently important documents will be released in the coming days. However, given West-Israel's escalations on the world stage, one would guess that at least some of them will relate to the support the multinodal powers will be providing to their allies.

WHO warns against 'closing borders' and travel restrictions over mpox outbreaks, 'disease doesn't recognize borders'

WHO issued the highest level of alert amid mpox outbreak which has become a global concern because it is rapidly spreading through close contact
After the strains of mpox virus were detected outside Africa, World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) officials on Friday (August 16) advised countries not to close borders or impose any travel restrictions.

At least one case of the mpox virus was confirmed by the health ministry of Pakistan. This virus has become a global concern because it is rapidly spreading through close contact.

"There is no need to close borders. When we are in disease outbreaks, diseases don't recognise borders, people will continue to cross a border, whether it is illegal crossing or not an illegal crossing. It doesn't stop the disease from spreading," said IFRC senior officer Bronwyn Nichol, while addressing a United Nations press briefing in Geneva.

Comment: Isn't this the same institution that was calling for lockdowns and vaccine passports during the contrived coronavirus crisis? More generally, it still supports the rollout of vaccine passports.

The WEF reported in May 2020:
Countries must lift lockdowns gradually, while still being "on the look-out" for COVID-19 and ready to restore restrictions if the virus jumps back, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on 1st May.

The WHO recognises the difficulty for governments to maintain lockdowns during the pandemic, "for social, psychological and economic reasons", Ryan said.

"So we are very anxious that we can move to a situation where the disease can kept under control with less severe measures," he said.

"But at the same time we want to avoid a situation where we release measures too easily and then we bounce back into intense transmission and we have to do it all over again," he said.
La Trobe university reported in October 2020:
Last week the World Health Organisation's special envoy on COVID-19, David Nabarro, said: "We in the World Health Organisation do not advocate lockdowns as the primary measure for the control of the virus."

Lockdowns are a good tactic in situations where transmission is spiralling out of control and there is a threat of the health system being overwhelmed. As Nabarro says, they can "buy you time to reorganise, regroup, rebalance your resources".
Obviously no sane person is advocating for lockdowns, but the conflicting advice is worth noting.

What's changed? The establishment doesn't want Mpox to interfere with their weaponised mass migration agenda? The comment from the WHO that 'people will continue to cross a border, whether it is illegal crossing or not' is certainly notable.

Biden committed 'impeachable offenses' - GOP report

Republican investigators have released their impeachment inquiry report on Joe Biden, accusing the US president of influence-peddling and obstruction. However, any effort to remove Biden from office is unlikely to succeed.

Released on Monday by the House Oversight, Judiciary, and Ways and Means committees, the report claims that Biden and his family used their family name and connections to the White House to solicit over $27 million from businessmen and political figures in China, Kazakhstan, Romania, Russia, and Ukraine.

Citing witness testimony and documents obtained from Biden's son Hunter's laptop, the report alleges that Hunter met with these foreign clients and promised them access to his father, who at the time was serving as vice president of the US. Despite denying any knowledge of his son's business dealings, "Biden met or spoke with nearly every one of the Biden family's foreign business associates, including those from Ukraine, China, Russia, and Kazakhstan," the report claimed.

At the time of most of these meetings, Hunter Biden was sitting on the board of Ukrainian energy firm Burisma. This position earned him just under $1 million per year, despite having no experience in the energy industry.

Comment: It's probably all true and then some.

Ukraine could trigger 'another Chernobyl' - ex-US Army officer to RT

A meltdown at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant would make the region uninhabitable, Stanislav Krapivnik has warned

Ukraine's armed forces could cause a nuclear disaster that would affect most of Europe if they strike the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, former US Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik has warned.

In an interview with RT on Saturday, Krapivnik discussed the difference between a dirty bomb and a nuclear bomb, explaining that while a dirty bomb does not have the critical mass or enriched material, it could cause large scale contamination if it hits nuclear waste.

If the coolant system in an active plant is targeted, it would cause a "nuclear meltdown" which could lead to an incident similar to Fukushima or Chernobyl, he added. Such an event would impact most of Europe, especially at this time of the year "when the wind blows northwest."

Germany must provide full disclosure over Nord Stream bombings - Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

Moscow has filed a claim over Berlin's investigation into the pipeline sabotage, accusing it of failing to fulfill its obligations

Germany must stop concealing facts about the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines and must provide full transparency over its investigation into the incident, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has insisted. Moscow has already filed an official complaint against Berlin's probe into the bombings.

The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, which were used to transport Russian natural gas to Germany and other parts of Western Europe, were sabotaged in September 2022 in a series of explosions under the Baltic Sea near the Danish island of Bornholm. The perpetrators have yet to be officially identified.

Comment:
1) The statements from Sergei Lavrov come after: 2)
German media have continued to suggest that the suspects may not even be connected to any particular country.
If this was a game of "20 Questions" what would be your next questions?

3)
It appears likely that the German investigation "will be closed without identifying the true culprits behind the Nord Stream bombings," Tyapkin stated, stressing that Russia would not accept this outcome.
Since the Swedish and the Danish Governments have already closed their investigations without finding or saying much, the German Government might choose not to embarrass their NATO colleagues by arriving at a different conclusion. The West has established a pattern of keeping their populations in the dark about what they are doing with regard to Russia, but the effect is turned against their own citizens too, as if they were an enemy to be manipulated.

2024's most dangerous question: What if Kamala Harris isn't an idiot?

kamala joker obama political cartoon
© imgflip.com
On the eve of the Democratic National Convention, after a coup against their former standard-bearer Joe Biden, we face a very disturbing question.

What if Kamala Harris isn't the idiot the media has made her out to be?

Harris was clearly chosen for this role. She's been groomed for it for nearly two decades. She isn't the best of a list of bad choices. The Democrats drove the good choices from the party and blocked others becoming a part of it.

There were no Democratic primaries, folks.

She was placed as Biden's Vice-President to have the inside track on this gig when they decided Joe finally had to be dragged from the stage.

The coup was penciled in on the Gantt Chart at Evil Corp. Central for the weekend of July 13th.

The Overclass exposed

chart government departments america
The United States Government
"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." — Upton Sinclair
The overclass has produced far less than it has taken and has destroyed far more than it has created.

The overclass is the cohort in both government and ostensibly private enterprise who derive their sustenance directly or indirectly from government in exchange for goods or services. It consists of the relatively small group who rule, and the much larger group, numbering in the millions, whose defining characteristic is that government is the source of their compensation. For analytic clarity, this group does not include people who receive money from government (e.g. Social Security, AFDC) that is not salaries.

The overclass includes the massive administrative state, the military, intelligence, government contractors, much of public and private academia, many nongovernmental organizations and foundations, parts of the mainstream media, much of the scientific and medical establishments, and state and local governments. A substantial chunk of the $11 plus trillion that all levels of government will spend this year, an estimated 38.12 percent of the GDP, will flow into these pockets (figures from usdebtclock.org).

The US is repeating the mistakes of the USSR in the Middle East

US soldiers

Soviet influence in the Middle East was ultimately useless, and now it seems Washington is heading down the same path.

The confrontation between Iran and Israel has been going on for several weeks now. However, none of the parties directly - or, indeed, indirectly - involved in Middle East politics are keen to see events there escalate into a larger military conflict.

In other words, the situation in this important region is slowly trying to find a kind of internal balance. This is similar to everywhere else in the world, where different countries are seeking a way to organize their relations with each other now that the old international order has collapsed but a new one has not yet emerged.

Whether they will succeed is still completely unknown. It is possible that some internal factors could provoke the Israelis into a truly full-scale aggression against Tehran. Iran will then be forced to respond with all its might.

But it's hard to see how anything Israel does - short of a nuclear strike - could force Iran to abandon its cautious strategy. And that means the current crisis will ultimately lead to a new round of more restrained diplomatic activity. And gradually, international relations in the Middle East will settle into a new normal in which different interests will balance each other out, because the priority for each country is survival and that will prevent any truly reckless actions.

Comment: Israeli restraint is not a good bet and Neti is crazed for a win at all costs.

Comment: Is this a fair comparison in a rapidly evolving world crisis with unequaled danger and complexity? On some levels perhaps, but not all. Despite his revisionary approach, author makes some thoughtful and stunning points.
