Kamala Harris' cozy ties with Big Tech might allow Google to wiggle out of an antitrust breakup

© ReutersVice President Kamala Harris has yet to reveal how she’ll handle Big Tech antitrust matters if elected.
The Kamala Harris campaign's cozy ties with Big Tech have sparked worries that Google will be allowed to wiggle out of a proposed breakup of its search empire if she is elected president, The Post has learned.

Harris is close to Paul Weiss - the white-shoe law firm leading Google's defense in another major antitrust case targeting its digital ad business. Karen Dunn, the firm's top litigator, is helping Harris with debate prep. Likewise, the firm's chairman Brad Karp is reportedly heading up a "Lawyers Committee for Kamala Harris" to raise cash for her White House bid.

The former US senator from California is also leaning heavily on Eric Holder, who led the vetting of her potential running mates, and her brother-in-law Tony West, a Silicon Valley ally who took a leave from his role as chief legal officer at Uber to help her campaign. Both are reportedly on the shortlist of potential candidates for Cabinet positions in a Harris administration.

The West is still lying about the largest act of terrorism in modern European history

nord stream sign
We are expected to believe that a bunch of rogue Ukrainians blew up Nord Stream without any state support - do they also have a bridge to sell us?

On September 26, 2022, infrastructure vital for both Germany and the EU as a whole was attacked as never before in post-World War II, peacetime (at least formally) history. In the vicinity of the island of Bornholm, at the midpoint between the Polish and Swedish coasts, four explosions sabotaged the massive Nord Stream I and II gas pipelines, which run along the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

The immediate consequences were enormous. In terms of environmental damage, all too often overlooked now, the pipelines were filled with methane, a greenhouse gas that contributes enormously to global warming. According to the UN, its heating effect is 80 times greater than that of carbon dioxide. Also, methane "is the primary contributor to the formation of ground-level ozone, a hazardous air pollutant and greenhouse gas, exposure to which causes one million premature deaths every year."

Comment: In other words, the MIC, oligarchs and their hangers' on believe they have sucked every dollar they can out of the mess. Time to move the grift to China.

Response to Israel could take time - Iranian military

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that Tehran's retaliation over the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh may only come after a long wait, according to Reuters.

Haniyeh was killed in Tehran in late July, hours after attending the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Following the incident, Iran promised to inflict "harsh punishment" on Israel, which has neither denied nor acknowledged any role in the killing. The Middle East has been bracing for Iran's avowed retaliation, which has not so far materialized.

"Time is in our favor and the waiting period for this response could be long," Alimohammad Naini, spokesperson for IRGC, an elite and influential branch of the Iranian military, reportedly said on Tuesday, adding "the enemy" should wait for a "calculated and accurate" response.

Naini was also cited by local media as saying that Iranian leaders were weighing the circumstances and that the response might not be a repeat of the Islamic Republic's previous operations.

In April, Iran fired hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel in response to the latter's bombing of its consulate in Syria. The barrage was mostly countered by Israel's Iron Dome air defense system, but a number of missiles did reach their targets, causing what Israel claimed was minimal damage to military installations.

The killing of Haniyeh has sparked global concerns about an all-out war between Israel and Iran.

Comment: The full force of it may take some time, but the retaliation may already be underway: Why is Iran's revenge so late in coming?

Why is Iran's revenge so late in coming?

Many are wondering why Iran has not yet unleashed its legitimate revenge against Israel. Let's try to give a geopolitical explanation.

An age-old Art of War

Let's make one thing clear: Iran is an empire thousands of years old, with an incredible history, a very rich culture and a lifestyle totally different from that of the West. For these very simple reasons, Westerners cannot understand Iran. It's too different a country from the West. This problem of interpretation causes many misunderstandings on the part of Western analysts and journalists, but also on the part of politicians and strategists, because they try to apply interpretations that are not correct. One cannot 'read' Iran like any other Western state.

This gross error is actually a great advantage for the Iranians, because they can play on hybrid conflict levels without much effort. Particularly in the context of infowars, Iran enjoys an aura of mystery and confusion that makes the truth of what is happening in the country impenetrable. The Western media, heavy with propaganda, spread wrong, distorted, biased information, convinced that they have the scoop of the moment and are telling who knows what truth. Beyond those news stories that are fabricated to deceive the Western public, the objective fact is that the foreign media do not have access to what is happening inside, except to the extent that Iran allows them to acquire information. Like it or not, this is an excellent defense and protection strategy and it has always worked.

Ukrainian troops 'kidnapping' Russian civilians

Several Ukrainian fighters who participated in Kiev's cross-border attack on Kursk have admitted to "helping transport" Russian civilians to an unknown location. The revelations came when the troops - who either surrendered or were captured during the incursion - were presented with video evidence from their own body-cameras.

The footage shows armed Ukrainian militants escorting Russian men -some of them beaten, blindfolded, and with their hands tied -from private houses and forcefully shoving them into a truck. They are believed to be civilians snatched in the village of Goncharovka, around 8km from the Russian-Ukrainian border.

During questioning, the Ukrainian captives were asked to elaborate on the footage and explain who they were loading onto the vehicle and why. One of the POWs claimed that the men were Russian conscripts captured by the Ukrainians, but admitted that at least three of them were actually "civilians who were there visiting someone."

Biden's incriminating admission of U.S. involvement in offensive on Russia

This is as close to World War Three as it can get. One senses that only the calm discipline and strategic prudence of the Russian leadership are preventing the moment from escalating to a global catastrophe.

It is breathtaking what is going on with the offensive into the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation. This is as close to World War Three taking place as it can get, if not already happening.

This week American President Joe Biden admitted deep U.S. involvement in the invasion of Russia by Ukrainian forces. The complacent, casual admission is shocking. Biden told media that his officials were in "constant contact" with the Kiev regime on the offensive that began on August 6. Biden added with undisguised pleasure that the incursion had created a "real dilemma" for Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

It seems likely that the summer offensive will go the same ill-fated way as last year's offensive by Ukraine that took place in the main war zone area of Donbass, the region which was formerly eastern Ukraine but is now legally part of the Russian Federation. The offensive last summer turned out to be a disaster for Ukrainian forces as superior Russian defenses decimated them. As with this summer's offensive, there has been much Western media hyping of the initial gains. But the optimism is giving way to the reality that Russian forces are containing the cross-border foray and will eventually expel Ukrainian troops. There are indications that the Ukrainian side has lost over 2,000 casualties over the past 10 days and incurred heavy losses of destroyed NATO military equipment.

Nevertheless, it is alarming what has been embarked on by the NATO-backed regime. This is the first time that Russia has been invaded by a foreign enemy since the Great Patriotic War when Nazi Germany waged its genocidal war. Ironically, a turning point in that war was in the Kursk region when the Red Army defeated the Wehrmacht.

Comment: Bragger Biden has no deniability. Russia has saved its best for last.

As Democrats kick off convention, House GOP unveils Biden impeachment report

The GOP report cited provisions in the Democratic impeachment of former President Donald Trump to explain the allegations. But Biden allies criticized the inquiry as a 'misuse of power.'

House Republicans released an impeachment report Monday filled with accusations of influence peddling and obstruction against President Joe Biden, who has denied the charges as "lies" during the nearly two-year investigation.

The 291-page report from three committees - Judiciary, Oversight and Accountability, and Ways and Means - accuses Biden of participating in a conspiracy to help his relatives receive millions of dollars from foreign interests by attending dinners and speaking with them on the phone.

The report said:
"The totality of the corrupt conduct uncovered by the Committees is egregious. President Joe Biden conspired to commit influence peddling and grift. In doing so, he abused his office and, by repeatedly lying about his abuse of office, has defrauded the United States to enrich his family."
The release of the report came the same day Biden, who decided last month to drop out of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, is scheduled to speak at the Democratic National Convention. The report said the committees sought to update lawmakers about the evidence gathered so far while continuing to investigate. But Biden's allies have said Republicans aimed to prop up GOP nominee Donald Trump's polling numbers against Biden through the investigation and help the former president win in November.

Comment: The evidence tells the story: Corruption from the top down.

Hamas torpedoes US ceasefire proposal

The Palestinian militant group has reportedly accused Israel of introducing new obstacles into the negotiations.

Hamas has rejected a renewed US proposal to help finalize a Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal, accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging negotiations and Washington of indulging him, Middle Eastern news outlets reported on Sunday, citing an official statement from the militant group.

The statement was issued following the latest round of talks in the Qatari capital, Doha last week involving officials from Israel, Qatar, the US, and Egypt. Hamas skipped the negotiations, citing the absence of a clear plan. A senior Hamas official told the BBC on Thursday that the group would "not engage in negotiations for the sake of negotiations."

In its latest statement, Hamas held Netanyahu completely responsible for thwarting the mediation efforts and derailing the agreement. The group said the new demands do not meet its conditions regarding the release of prisoners.

"Netanyahu is setting new conditions to sabotage the negotiations, including continued control over the Philadelphi route, the Rafah Crossing, and the Netzarim corridor," the statement reads. The withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, including from the border with Egypt, are key conditions for Hamas to accept any agreement.

Comment: It seems Hamas is not the only 'stalling party' in this fake and faulty compromise.

European values? The Baltic states and Finland are ruled by Nazis

flag

This article will survey how much the Baltic states and Finland have been radicalized, that they are fascists and follow the principles of Hitler's National Socialism. The sinister development has serious implications for the entire European Union in its relations with Russia.

Ironically, the Baltic states and Finland proclaim to be democracies, not realizing that they conform to the principles of National Socialism as was preached by the German political party NSDAP (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) led by Adolf Hitler in the 1930s and 1940s.

Recently, there was yet another incident, one of many, this time in Estonia, where in the town of Johvi, the monument of two SS veterans from the Second World War was taken out of the cellars of the museum, cleaned up, and put on display again.

Georg Sooden was a volunteer in the SS 20th Estonian Division (the Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS). About 70,000 mostly volunteers fought in this battalion, mainly against the Soviet Red Army, notably in the battle of Krivasoo. Georg Sooden was killed in this battle as was his comrade Raul Jüriado also mentioned on the monument. A member of the Johvi council inaugurated the commemoration.

In the Western news media, there is hardly any talk about these kinds of incidents. Nor is there any criticism of the Baltic states' routine apologetic argument that they were "forced" to fight for the Nazis. However, the Germans are known for their accuracy in documenting everything. The archives attest that the SS battalions in the Baltic States (as in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France) consisted of volunteers.

In Estonia, around 70,000 men voluntarily joined the SS. In Latvia, the 1st Latvia 15th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS together with the 2nd Latvia 19th Waffen Grenadier Division consisted of 87,500 men.

All Trump, no Harris: A look at the Democratic Party's puzzling new platform

The policy document includes a host of promises for Joe Biden's "second term".

Democratic delegates have voted to approve the party's 2024 platform. The 94-page document still states that President Joe Biden is running for office, mentions Donald Trump more than Kamala Harris, and includes multiple false and misleading claims.

The 91-page document was compiled in July and published on Sunday. In a largely symbolic vote at the Democratic National Convention on Monday, it was approved as the party's official platform for the next four years.

1. A woke introduction

The platform opens with a so-called "land acknowledgement," declaring that the US is made up of "lands that have been stewarded through many centuries by the ancestors and descendants of Tribal Nations who have been here since time immemorial."

"While we meet in Chicago, we also recognize and honor the traditional homelands of the Anishinaabe, also known as the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations," it continues, before listing off other Native American tribes hailing from the Chicago region.

Comment: They can say anything...none of it matters. There is no 'whitewash' strong enough nor thick enough to disguise the F-Ups of this administration.
