Not just "Russia, Russia, Russia": Hillary demands criminal charges for Americans 'engaged in propaganda'

Amid claims that Trump is a "danger to this country and the world," Hillary Clinton - the original sinner of "Russia, Russia, Russia"-propaganda - has called for anyone spreading 'misinformation' to be criminally charged as a better deterrence ahead of the election.

Specifically, the former Secretary of State told MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on Monday that Americans "engaged" in "propaganda" - similar to the type that led to the Russians "boosting Trump" in 2016 - should face criminal prosecution.
"I think it's important to indict the Russians, just as Mueller indicted a lot of Russians who were engaged in direct election interference and boosting Trump back in 2016.

But I also think there are Americans who are engaged in this kind of propaganda. And whether they should be civilly or even in some cases criminally charged is something that would be a better deterrence, because the Russians are unlikely, except in a very few cases, to ever stand trial in the United States."

Comment: Taking her own advice, she should turn herself in.

The Australian Government reboots the misinformation bill

Parliament
© UnknownAustralian Parliament storm brewing
This week, Australia's Labor Party reintroduced its misinformation and disinformation bill. I did a deep dive into the bill last May. Among its many flaws, the biggest is its very origins.

As Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said in Parliament on September 12th, "This bill seeks to strengthen the voluntary code by providing a regulatory backstop." That code was co-written by First Draft, participants in the Aspen Institute's coordinated effort to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story.

If that story is new to you, the Twitter Files revealed that in August 2020, the Aspen Institute organised a "table-top" exercise with Twitter, Facebook, First Draft and a host of media organisations including the New York Times and Washington Post, that ran through a day-by-day playbook of how they would respond to the release of Hunter Biden's laptop. The story didn't break publicly until October, so how did the Aspen Institute know two months in advance?

Zelensky cancels meeting with Latin American leaders fearing a PR disaster

Kiev was reportedly worried that low attendance by Latin American heads of state would make obvious their lack of support for its cause

The Ukrainian government has canceled a meeting intended to involve Vladimir Zelensky and Latin American leaders out of fear it would become a PR disaster, Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo reported on Tuesday. Very few of the invitees confirmed that they would attend the event, the paper wrote.

Kiev initially planned to hold the talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly scheduled to convene on September 24. According to Folha, the idea behind the meeting was to demonstrate symbolic support for Ukraine in its conflict with Moscow.

Ukrainian officials reportedly said it would be "an appropriate platform" for Zelensky to present what they called "relevant and reliable information" about the conflict. Kiev also wanted to rally support for the so-called Zelensky 'peace formula' - a set of demands put forward by Ukraine as pre-conditions for peace talks. Moscow has rejected the demands, calling them unacceptable.

Kiev had to scrap the meeting after it received only a "few confirmations of attendance," Folha reported, adding that the government decided it was "necessary to avoid a situation that could possibly be interpreted as a lack of support."

Comment: Project Ukraine is losing more and more supporters as the writing is on the wall.

Secret Service 'built pagers from scratch using shell companies that had been making and shipping them to Lebanon for YEARS in preparation for attack'

The Israeli secret service didn't just tamper with the deadly Hezbollah pagers -- they made them from scratch, having set up a complex web of shell companies across Europe, it was claimed today.

Initially it was suspected that Mossad had managed to intercept and plant tiny bombs in a shipment of the pagers headed for the Iranian-backed terror group in Lebanon after thousands of people were injured and dozens killed.

But now it appears that the Israelis set up front companies across Europe to manufacture the pagers themselves, embedding small amounts of PETN explosive inside, ready to be detonated by a coded message.

US has declared information war on Russian media - Zakharova to RT

The latest attack stems from the West's inability to compete fairly, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman has said

The new round of US sanctions against Russian media outlets amounts to a declaration of an "information war," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told RT.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken unveiled new restrictions on Friday targeting RT parent companies Rossiya Segodnya and TV-Novosti. He accused the network of being "engaged in covert influence activities... and functioning as a de facto arm of [Russian] intelligence."

Comment:
1)
This suggests that journalists all over the world should now understand that tomorrow this will be done to them.
The treatment of Julian Assange marked a turner. What happened to the information distribution during COVID was another indication. Then you have the Israeli targeting of journalists which is on a different level, but still. Is what is happening any more than a continuation?

2) From the same source:

US using German Nazi playbook on RT - Moscow
The renewed attack on Russian media is the same method that was employed by the Third Reich, Maria Zakharova has said

The latest attack on Russian media is part of a broader, deeply Russophobic, and supremacist campaign against the country, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said, drawing parallels between the present-day US and Nazi Germany.

The spokeswoman made the remarks on Saturday while hosted by Russian broadcaster TVC. The discussion primarily revolved around the announcement made by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken the previous day of new sanctions targeting Russian media outlets, including RT. He accused the network of being "engaged in covert influence activities... and functioning as a de facto arm of [Russian] intelligence."

RT has been trying to somehow undermine democracy in the US and elsewhere, and erode global support for Ukraine, Blinken claimed.

The new measures are an open declaration of an information war on Russia, Zakharova stated. "This is not about sanctions, not about some restrictive measures. This is a declaration of information war, a direct one, without any alternative," she said.

The spokeswoman drew parallels between the present-day US and Nazi Germany, accusing Washington of waging a broader campaign against Russia and its media.

"This information war is based upon a distinctive Russophobic, nationalist ideology, the very same one we've repeatedly seen in history, including the most visible one in the 1930s. The methodology is the same, the driver is the same, and the technological means are different. But it is all the same," Zakharova said.

The campaign includes pressure through purportedly legal means "guised as laws," as well as open "bullying," a tactic repeatedly used by followers of such hateful ideologies before, Zakharova suggested. This "bullying" and "hounding" come in various forms, such as "segregation" and "cancel culture."

The campaign affects US domestic affairs, as one of its goals is actually to "restrict free speech for their own American citizens, and, ultimately, their right to speech altogether," Zakharova stressed.
3) The comparison of the new steps taken by Washington is with National Socialist Germany. The Wiki about Censorship in Nazi Germany begins:
Censorship in Nazi Germany was extreme and strictly enforced by the governing Nazi Party, but specifically by Joseph Goebbels and his Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. Similarly to many other police states both before and since, censorship within Nazi Germany included the silencing of all past and present dissenting voices. In addition to the further propaganda weaponization of all forms of mass communication, including newspaper, music, literature, radio, and film, by the State,[1] the Ministry of Propaganda also produced and disseminated their own literature, which was solely devoted to spreading Nazi ideology and the Hitler Myth.
If we take the comparison with Nazi Germany that Maria Zakharova suggests, and use that as a template for prediction. Where is the situation heading?

4) From the article:
RT has been trying to somehow undermine democracy in the US and elsewhere, and erode global support for Ukraine, Blinken claimed
There is no global support for the war in Ukraine, ask in Asia, Africa, South America. On Ukraine, the world majority sides with Russia over US Those who reveal that undermine democracy?

5) A question might be what has western democracy has turned into, or shown itself to be? Below are some articles that indicate the current trends:

'Massive terror attack': Belgian deputy premier condemns the pager bombs in Lebanon, Syria

beirut
© Bassam Masri / APBeirut, Lebanon, 17th September 2024
The Belgian deputy prime minister on Wednesday "strongly condemned" attacks on Hezbollah members in Lebanon and Syria.

Writing on X, Petra de Sutter described it as a "massive terror attack" and a "brutal escalation of violence."

"Silence is not an option. An international investigation is called for. The bloodshed must end," she said.

Belgian member of the EU parliament Marc Botenga also wrote on X, asking: "Why do not our governments condemn as a terrorist attack the act of exploding pagers (utilized by doctors and nurses too) in supermarkets and public spaces, killing inter alia a 10-year-old girl, and injuring thousands of people?"

Comment: Israel's escalating war of terror may please its supporters and fanatics at home and aboard, but in the process the majority of the rest of the planet is becoming more galvanised as to its rogue status. It's also providing the multinodal world with good reasons to cut off trade with the pariah state. Because it's not just the lives of Palestinians at risk anymore, with what Israel did to Lebanon - and it's likely it has other terror attacks lined up - it could do to others.

In many ways, Israel is in a race against time to achieve its diabolical goals before justice intervenes:

Germany 'has stopped approving war weapons exports to Israel' - 11 months into the genocide, and just prior to its elections

Germany has put a hold on new exports of weapons of war to Israel while it deals with legal challenges, according to a Reuters analysis of data and a source close to the Economy Ministry.

Comment: Note that, for now, this is just a source. And there's good reason to believe that this is likely related to the election, in which the ruling party is expected to lose a significant number of votes, because of policies such as being the second biggest supplier to Israel's genocidal war of terror on its Gaza concentration camp.

A source close to the ministry cited a senior government official as saying it had stopped work on approving export licences for arms to Israel due to legal and political pressure from legal cases arguing that such exports from Germany breached humanitarian law.

The Economy Ministry has not responded to requests for comment. However, the German government did issue a statement after the Reuters story was published.

Comment: Whatever the reason for Germany's apparent slump in sales, its establishment certainly seems to be trying to do some damage control in the run up to the elections:

On September 10, Israeli settlers became illegal migrants

UN General Assembly
© United NationsUN General Assembly welcomed Palestine as a full member of the United Nations on September 10, 2024
We are used to seeing Israel indulge in exactions under the pretext of its security, and the Anglo-Saxons defending it at the Security Council. As a result, we witness crimes without any judicial consequences. This situation is now over. The International Court of Justice has swept aside Tel Aviv's reasoning, and the State of Palestine has become a full member of the United Nations. It will therefore no longer be possible to turn a blind eye to the situation of the Palestinians, and they will have the capacity to prosecute their tormentors.
On September 10, 2024, Israeli settlers, who claim to be fulfilling a divine plan by settling in the West Bank (Judea-Samaria, in their words), went from being Israeli citizens living in disputed territories to illegal immigrants in the sovereign state of Palestine.
At the opening of its seventy-ninth session, the United Nations General Assembly implemented its resolution ES-10/23 of May 10 [1]. The State of Palestine has become a full member of the United Nations (UN). No one can now oppose the exercise of its rights as a sovereign state.

If Palestine is a sovereign state, this changes the interpretation of the Interim Agreement on the West Bank and Gaza Strip (known as the "Oslo II Agreement"). The Palestinian Authority is no longer a transitional administration, but a government in the full sense of the term. The Palestinian Territories are no longer "disputed areas", but the internationally recognized territory of a sovereign state.

Comment: UN Membership - Return of Territory. State of Palestine - Occupiers Ousted. These turns of event shed new light on Netanyahu's raison d'être: No Palestinians left standing...to retake their rightful inheritance.

Putin orders third troop expansion of war, making army 2nd largest after China's

army

For the third time since the Ukraine war began in February 2022, President Putin has approved an expansion of Russia's military, on Monday signing a decree to boost the number of soldiers by 180,000.

This means Russia's armed forces will include 1.5 million active servicemen going into winter. It is also a clear signal that Russia doesn't plan on reducing the intensity of the fight in the Donbass anytime soon. This will bring the overall number of military personnel within Russia's army, including all reserve forces, to over 2,300,000.

Putin had previously sign-off on two prior expansion waves: an increase of 137,000 in August 2022 and another expanse of 170,000 in December 2023.

In the fall of 2022, when Ukraine's much-hyped counteroffensive was in full swing, Putin had called up some 300,000 reservists to join the fight.

With this latest troop increase, Putin could also be signaling NATO that Russia will not back down, at a moment the US and UK are mulling approving Ukraine's use of long-range missiles to attack inside Russian territory.

Comment: Peskov comments on Russian army expansion:
Russia's decision to expand its military was taken due to the current hostile environment, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

On Monday, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to boost the number of personnel in the armed forces to almost 2.4 million, including 1.5 million service members.
"The move was motivated by the number of threats that exist for our country alongside our borders. The environment is 'extremely hostile' for Russia in the West and 'unstable' in the East, a situation that requires appropriate measures."
Russia's previous increase in army strength came last December, when its numbers were boosted to just over 2.2 million, including 1.3 million troops.

The Kremlin views the hostilities as a proxy war waged by the West, and has accused the US and its allies of intentionally escalating it. The US intends to fight "to the last Ukrainian" as long as it can damage Russia, Moscow believes.

The war is lost, and the struggle to keep the 'enforced pretending' going is breaking through, to be seen by all as a false reality.

Israel is entering the next phase of its war on Palestine by completing its takeover of the Gaza Strip - from the northern border to the Netzarim corridor. It is likely that they intend for this area to then gradually be made available for Jewish settlement and annexation to Israel.

In a piece titled, Annexation, Expulsion and Israeli Settlements: Netanyahu Gears Up for Next Phase of Gaza War, the Editor of Haaretz, Aluf Benn, writes: Were the takeover to proceed:
"Palestinian residents who remain in northern Gaza will be expelled, as suggested by Maj. Gen. (res.) Giora Eiland, under threat of starvation and under cover of 'protecting their lives'."
Netanyahu and his supporters will see this move, Benn suggests, as a lifetime achievement: Expanding Israel's territory for the first time, after 50 years of Israeli withdrawals. This will be the Israeli Right's 'Zionist response' to 7 October.
