"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."
- Dwight David Eisenhower, "Military-Industrial Complex Speech," 1961 1
"My observation is that the impact of national elections on the business climate for SAIC has been minimal. The emphasis on where federal spending occurs usually shifts, but total federal spending never decreases. SAIC has always continued to grow despite changes in the political leadership in Washington."
- Former SAIC manager, quoted in Donald L. Barlett and James B. Steele, "Washington's $8 Billion Shadow." Vanity Fair, March 2007 2
"We make American military doctrine."
- Ed Soyster, MPRI 3
"Over the last two weeks I have encountered just such an apocalyptic situation, where I and the Department of Justice have been asked to be part of something that is fundamentally wrong." (Excerpt from Deputy Attorney General James Comey's draft letter of resignation to President Bush, dated March 16, 2004, which Comey did not in the end send.)
"Nothing was your own except the few cubic centimetres inside your skull" (George Orwell: 1984)

EM: In fact, you know, when the US invaded Afghanistan in 2001, they claimed that there were over twenty 'terrorist training camps' as they called them, they were all training terrorists to go and attack America. Well, this is an absolute lie. One among many.
Most of the training camps, 90% of the people in the training camps were either Kashmiris being trained by Pakistani Intelligence Service, the ISI, with full American knowledge, to go an fight in Kashmir against Indian rule. That was the biggest group, and the second biggest group were people from Central Asia, mainly Uzbekistan and Khazakistan and Tajikistan who were being organized and trained to go and fight these dreadful communist regimes of Central Asia, again with full American knowledge.

Comment: Why is it that the idea that some section of Israeli government or society would be profiting from the sale of organs of Palestinians is decried as anti-semitic?
Is the truth anti-semitic?
The IDF attack on Gaza early this year showed the world clearly that IDF forces can kill and maim Palestinians with impunity. So if some section of Israeli society had a market for human organs, it would seem natural for such types to see the opportunity to enrich themselves under cover of an Israeli military operation.
The problem however is that the Israeli governments crimes are so grevious, that no criticism whatsoever can be contenanced for fear that the full truth might leak out. Hence the cover all nonsensical defences of "anti-semitism" and "blood libel".
Israel, as everyone knows is squeaky clean when it comes to trafficking of all sorts of things: When considered in the context of the totality of Israeli effect on Palestine, IDF and criminal Israeli harvesting of Palestinian organs is pretty far down the list of Israel's worst crimes against the Palestinian people.
