Today with the launch of season 4 of Mafiacracy Now, BestEvidence returns to the heart of its mission as set forth 10 years ago in the channel's About section:

BestEvidence seeks to chronicle major financial forces and legal changes behind America's last days as a sovereign republic, as the rule of law is destroyed and the American people are disenfranchised and looted in broad daylight.

One month ago, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen revealed her criminal colors to the world by urging other G7 allies to seize $300 billion of Russian assets (most of which are frozen in Belgium) and hand them over to Ukraine.

Ukraine, of course, has been the star of a massive media fantasy in which it is defeating Evil Russia on the battlefield, only this particular fantasy has been plumped relentlessly as actual news throughout the west for two years. With the fall of Avdeevka, the fantasy is dead for all to see, and now we move, not to a coping phase (because that would actually be healthy) but to the plunder phase, as everything inevitably does whenever and wherever the U.S. Mafiacracy is involved.

Remember how all those sanctions were going to cripple Russia, only they made Russia stronger?

Well now the magical answer to Ukraine's woes lies in those Russian assets. It's not going to work, of course, any more than the sanctions worked, or any more than General Dynamics Abrams Tanks worked. All of those things backfired, and this will too.

But boy oh boy, will it ever enrich participants in the Mafiacracy's Family and Friends Program. That's side effect number one of what Yellen is proposing. It's the smaller by far of two.

Messiah Mode - understanding Israel today

Meir Kahane
© Dan Balilty/APWith a portrait of late Rabbi Meir Kahane on the wall, left, a Jewish settler walks inside a building taken from a Palestinian family in Hebron, Nov. 16, 2008.
There was a time when I felt reasonably confident that the views of the Zionist extremist Meir Kahane would never become dominant in Israel. Surely, they would always be confined to the margins.

Then Netanyahu formed government with the religious extremists. How on earth did it turn out this way?

I failed to understand that Kahane was as much against the idea of Diaspora Jews he was against anything else, and how propaganda and activism towards this end would play out.

Best of the Web: Massive German document release sheds still more light on the entire Covid farce, as if any more light were needed

Heavily redact internal records relating to Lockdowns, mask mandates and mass vaccination
Lockdowns, mask mandates and mass vaccination were all implemented strictly according to the science and with the utmost transparency, which is why it is necessary to heavily redact internal records relating to these policies.
Last week, the Robert Koch Institut (the German CDC) released over 2,500 pages documenting the meetings of the "Covid Crisis Team" between January 2020 and April 2021. They did so in response to long-running litigation by journalists at Multipolar.

This is a major revelation - a rough German equivalent of the Fauci email releases from 2021 - which takes us directly into the internal discussions of the pandemic managers throughout the 2020 lockdowns and the early stages of the vaccination campaign. You can download the minutes and agendas yourself here. They're heavily redacted, but they provide a dismal view of the whole pandemic circus and its idiotic, hapless coordinators. It will take me weeks to finish studying them, but German Twitter has done the Lord's work unearthing many of the more important revelations, as does this surprisingly critical ZDF article. Here I want to highlight just three points.

Best of the Web: Alastair Crooke: The Crocus concert hall atrocity: No going back

russia
© Mahdi Rteil / Al MayadeenThe Crocus Concert Hall Atrocity: No going back
The details of the arrested perpetrators of the Crocus Concert Hall massacre and their mode of operation does not comport with the notion of their being ideological supporters of ISIS.

Why is it that the EU and the US are so adamant about who is behind the Crocus Concert Hall atrocity, that they will not wait out the investigation? Within 55 minutes of the attack, the US spokesperson said 'Ukraine wasn't involved'. Now the US is saying - definitively - that only ISIS was involved.

"No concrete advance warning - nothing was transferred to us", Russia's Washington Ambassador insists.

Why are Western states so certain? It is most unusual for Intelligence services to pronounce within the hour. Though the actual perpetrators are now known, the key question remains: Who stands behind the attack? Things are not always as they seem.

Comment: Two days ago Russia's FSB chief was asked whether they thought the US, UK, and Ukraine, could be behind the terror attack, to which he responded: "We think that this is so. [...] they [investigators] also have concrete results."

Compass

True North

Compass and Map

Point to point navigation describes the long-lost art of celestial navigation, the ability to use the stars to chart a course across the open seas in the age before compasses. The key to successfully executing point to point navigation lay in fixing one's position vis-à-vis the North Star. Failure to do so meant risking sailing aimlessly about a sea with no fixed reference points, an act that leads to death or, perhaps worse, becoming a castaway on some unchartered point on earth.

After a storm, a ship's captain and his navigator would scan the skies for the North Star, from which they could establish not only what direction true north was, but also where they were in reference to the position of the North Star in the sky, so that they might navigate to safety.

When special operations forces are compromised behind enemy lines, they conduct what they call "escape and evasion," the act of avoiding detection and probable death or capture, while making their way to a pre-designated haven from which they can regroup or be extracted. The CIA trains its operations officers in similar skill sets. Both colloquially refer to such actions as "finding their true north."

The perpetrators of the horrific attack on the Crocus City Hall and Concert Center in Krasnogorsk, a metropolitan community located to the northwest of Moscow, were no different than any other terrorist/militant before them; after their act of mass murder, they sought out their "true north" to make good their escape.

Western governments, analysts, and pundits have loudly proclaimed that the men who carried out the attack on the Crocus City Hall had nothing whatsoever to do with Ukraine, and instead have collectively embraced a narrative that paints the men as members of the Islamic State-Khorasan (ISIS-K). ISIS is an off-shoot of Al-Qaeda-Iraq (AQI) which emerged in 2013 when core AQI members relocated to Syria. In 2014 ISIS declared itself to be a caliphate and began a series of operations which saw it take control on a third of Syria and a quarter of Iraq before being driven back and ultimately defeated by a coalition which included Iraq, the United States and Iran.

In 2014 Central Asian fighters affiliated with Al Qaeda in Afghanistan formed a branch of ISIS in Afghanistan known as ISIS-K, where they stood for Khorasan (ISIS-K). Khorasan is an ancient term for the territory encompassed by modern day Iran, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan. ISIS-K continues to operate today in Afghanistan and Iran, as well as inside the former Soviet Central Asian republics, including Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

US, Germany supplied 99% of Israel weapons in 2023, US accelerated deliveries despite Gaza genocide

A new study has found that the US and Germany supplied almost all of the weapons and equipment delivered to Israel in 2023.

According to data released by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), 69 percent of Jerusalem's arms imports came from American manufacturers, while 30 percent were purchased from Berlin.

Italy, the third top importer for the Middle Eastern nation, supplied only 0.9 percent of the total arms purchases.

The Swedish research institute said all of the Israeli Air Force's current aircraft are US-made, except for one helicopter built in France.

Other nations aren't unfriendly, their elites are unfriendly - Putin

putin
Russia does not have unfriendly countries, there are unfriendly elites of these countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.

"There are many achievements, even in those countries that we call unfriendly today. Although we do not have unfriendly countries, we have unfriendly elites in these countries," Putin said at a meeting with cultural workers in Russia's Tver Region.

The president also noted that there are plenty of positive things in the European culture, however there are many issues when it comes to the current life in these societies. He added that today Russia has a unique opportunity to look at the developments in European nations and the post-industrial society as a whole, and to react to it appropriately.

Comment: Two other recent gems from Putin:

On the West:
"[...] the so-called "golden billion" has grown accustomed to being able to "fill their bellies with human flesh and their pockets with money" as they have been "parasitizing" other peoples in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
"But they must understand that the vampire ball is ending," Putin said.
On the sinister LGBTQ agenda:
"We are quite tolerant towards people with non-traditional sexual orientations. We just don't flaunt it, and we don't believe it's right to flaunt it. Let everyone live - the adults - as they want. Nobody limits them in anything," Putin stated, explaining that, basically, there are only a handful of rules which limit the LGBTQ community in the country.
As for children, I have already said many times: 'Don't touch the children.' That's it. This is the first one. And the second one is, we are, first and foremost, a state that is guided by traditional values.

Ukrainian 'Caliphate': What the West prefers not to notice when blaming ISIS for the terrorist attack in Moscow

crocus
© RT
On March 22, Russia suffered one of the worst terrorist attacks in recent history, in the course of which 137 people were killed and 182 others were injured. The four terrorists who carried out the attack chose one of the largest exhibition and concert venues in the country, Crocus City Hall, in the city of Krasnogorsk on the outskirts of Moscow, which hosts large events every day.

Even though the investigation is still ongoing, the West has already claimed that the Islamic State (IS) is responsible for the tragedy. This was first reported by some media outlets, including Reuters and CNN, and was later picked up by Western officials. For example, on Monday, this was stated by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

However, when we compare this terrorist attack with other IS attacks, we notice more differences than similarities.

Congressional watchdog warns America is at risk of a bond market meltdown

The US Treasury building in Washington, D.C., US
The US Treasury building in Washington, D.C., US, on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
The United States risks a bond market crisis of the kind that engulfed the United Kingdom 18 months ago, sending yields soaring and sparking a run on the pound, according to Congress's independent fiscal watchdog.

The stark warning from the Congressional Budget Office comes as US government debt continues to break records, fuelling concerns about the burden that places on the economy and taking a toll on America's credit rating.

In an interview with the Financial Times, CBO director Phillip Swagel said US government debt — which the Treasury Department puts at nearly $35 trillion — is on an "unprecedented" trajectory.

"The danger, of course, is what the UK faced with former Prime Minister (Liz) Truss, where policymakers tried to take an action, and then there's a market reaction to that action," he told the newspaper, referring to the investor backlash against plans for unfunded tax cuts that forced Truss to resign after just 45 days in office.

Talk of new mobilization 'complete stupidity' - Shoigu

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu
© Sputnik / Alexei DanichevFILE PHOTO
Russia does not need to announce another wave of mobilization to strengthen its army ranks, even if it decides to establish a buffer zone in Kiev-controlled territories to prevent Ukraine from launching strikes on civilians, according to Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.

Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested earlier this month that Moscow could be forced to create "a cordon sanitaire" in Ukraine, to ensure the safety of Russian regions that often face deadly and indiscriminate artillery and drone attacks.

When asked on Tuesday if a new mobilization would be needed to fulfill such goal, Shoigu dismissed the suggestion as "complete stupidity."

Moscow conducted a partial military call-up in September 2022. Shoigu explained at the time that additional troops were needed to "stabilize the situation, protect new territories" and hold the front line, which stretched more than 1,000km. Since then, Russian officials have repeatedly dismissed claims of a looming new mobilization, fueled by increasingly aggressive draft practices in Ukraine.

Comment: The Russians seemingly have no problems recruiting new soldiers, so it makes sense that there would be no reason or need to have a new mobilization. The same cannot be said of Ukraine, however.
