The bigger picture of Israeli cyber spying

Cyber Spying
© Corbett Report
We have been told to live in mortal fear of online hackers and, as the "cyber pandemic" narrative ramps up, the fear-mongering over Chinese, Russian and even North Korean cyberwarriors is going into overdrive.

Strange, then, given this climate of non-stop cybersecurity hysteria, that we rarely hear mention of one of the world's confirmed cyberhacking superpowers: Israel. Just as Israel's nuclear arsenal is the worst kept secret in the world, it seems that mention of Israel's cyber arsenal is strictly forbidden in the maintream press. But it is now undeniable that Israel is running one of the most sophisticated, pervasive and influential cyberhacking operations in the world.

The official silence on Israel's cyber espionage changed last month when the story of Pegasus — a piece of military-grade spyware developed by Israeli surveillance firm NSO Group — made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The software, as Haaretz and other MSM half-truth peddlers inform us, is able to hijack the phones of its victims, recording from the phone's cameras and microphone and collecting location data, call logs and contacts, all without the target's knowledge. And, as the consortium of dinosaur media publishers who were given access to this treasure trove of information report, it is being used by "oppressive regimes" to target "180 journalists" and even scoop up personal contact details of national misleaders like French President Emmanuel Macron and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

But there are some very important things you never learned about the Pegasus story in the dinosaur media's coverage of it and, if you do rely on the lamestream media for your knowledge, there are a lot of things you won't know about the history of Israeli cyberspying. So today, let's take a look at the issue of Israel's high tech espionage.

The Pentagon believes AI can predict world events. As an ex-military intelligence analyst on Iraq & USSR, I'm more than skeptical

The US military is testing an AI-driven computerized precognition system designed to give decision makers the ability to accurately predict a crisis before it happens. If it sounds too good to be true, it's probably because it is.

As any Tom Cruise fan will tell you, claims of precognitive ability do not have happy endings. Steven Spielberg's 2002 film, Minority Report, drove that point home in spades. But that was fiction - no, worse than fiction: Hollywood fiction, where screenwriters and directors conspire to manufacture viscerally pleasing narratives populated by picture-perfect characters who resolve some of the world's most pressing problems in around two hours flat.

The Pentagon has been watching too many Hollywood films, it seems. Otherwise, how can one explain the attraction of something called the Global Information Dominance Experiments (or GIDE, a nod to the military's proclivity for acronyms).

Reputed mafia 'godmother' arrested at Rome airport

Police file photos of Maria Licciardi from 20 years ago. She was released from prison in 2009 after serving time for mafia-connected crimes.
A reputed top Naples crime syndicate boss was arrested as she was about to board a flight to Spain, Italian authorities said.

The interior minister, Luciana Lamorgese, praised the arrest of Maria Licciardi, 70, by Carabinieri officers on the orders of Naples prosecutors.

Police from the paramilitary Carabinieri's special operations unit, which carried out the arrest, were not immediately available for details. But the Carabinieri press office posted a dispatch by the Italian news agency ANSA saying that Licciardi was arrested at Ciampino airport, Rome, as she checked in luggage for a flight to Spain.

Investigators have alleged that Licciardi ran extortion rackets as head of the Licciardi Camorra crime syndicate clan.

Government wants to dictate truth

"Misinformation is much more destructive when it emanates from a monopolistic 'Ministry of Truth,'" Hannah Cox, content manager for Foundation for Economic Education, writes in a July 25, 2021, article.1

"[Anthony] Fauci can't get his own facts straight, yet the government wants to decide what's 'misinformation' on social media," she adds, pointing to National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director Fauci's testimony during a recent Congressional committee hearing in which Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., questioned him about his funding of gain-of-function research on coronaviruses. Cox writes:2

UK PM's approval rating lowest ever, Labour leader's also falling

Support for Boris Johnson is lower than in January, when Britain was in the grip of a Covid peak, lockdown measures were in place and the NHS was under severe pressure.
His overall approval rating has fallen to -16, down from the -13 he recorded two weeks ago and -8 a fortnight before that. It is even lower than the -15 he recorded back in January, when Britain was in the grip of a Covid peak, lockdown measures were in place and the NHS was under severe pressure.

The latest poll shows that 34% of voters now approve of the job he is doing as prime minister, while 49% disapprove - up two points on the previous poll. When rounding was taken into account, the overall approval rating amounted to -16.

Comment: It's a fairly damning sign that more people disapprove of the ruling government than approve; which also is a reason for some hope because, at the very least, the propaganda and behavioural manipulations aren't working as well as establishment needs them to.

Comment: Favourable polling figures for a great many politicians across Europe have been plummeting for years now; what with the continued deterioration of living standards people can no longer ignore the brazen hypocrisy of those in power nor can they turn a blind eye to the havoc they're wreaking on the society that voters want to raise families in. And, with the recent ramming through of emergency laws and looming threats of further power grabs, it's possible that some significant pushback will occur, and this is reflected in the figures detailed above, but the establishment don't seem to realise, or don't care, that they're backing demoralised, but not yet sufficiently deadened, people into a corner:

A new state of segregation: Vaccine cards are just the beginning

"The things we were worried would happen are happening." — Angus Johnston, professor at the City University of New York
Imagine it: a national classification system that not only categorizes you according to your health status but also allows the government to sort you in a hundred other ways: by gender, orientation, wealth, medical condition, religious beliefs, political viewpoint, legal status, etc.

This is the slippery slope upon which we are embarking, one that begins with vaccine passports and ends with a national system of segregation.

It has already begun.

Comment: The vaccine 'experiment' has proven just how many folks are gullible and clueless to the 'biological' horror being perpetrated on a global scale. How accurate are the warnings in this article? We may not have long to find out.

Biden calls DeSantis 'Governor who?' DeSantis fires back, 'What else has he forgotten?'

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
On Friday, speaking at a news conference at Chipola College in Marianna, Florida, Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis flattened President Biden again, after Biden had snidely responded, "Governor Who?" when asked about DeSantis earlier this week. DeSantis quipped:
"I guess I'm not surprised that Biden doesn't remember me; I guess the question is, what else has he forgotten?"

"Biden's forgotten about the crisis at our southern border; I can tell you that. Biden has forgotten about the inflation that's biting the budgets of families all throughout our country. Biden has forgotten about the demonstrators who are fighting for freedom down in Cuba. Biden has even forgotten about the Constitution itself, as we saw with what he did with this (eviction) moratorium."
Then DeSantis cleverly used the "Governor Who?" insult by Biden and turned it on its head, asserting:
"And I can just tell you, I'm the Governor Who protects parents and their ability to make the right choices for their kids' education. I'm the Governor Who protects the jobs and education and businesses in Florida by not letting the federal government lock us down. I'm the Governor Who answers to the people of Florida, not to bureaucrats in Washington."

Outrage erupted after an Israeli-owned tanker, the MT Mercer Street, was attacked off the coast of Oman
Israel has announced that the country is prepared to go it alone and strike Iran, amid growing tensions about an all-out conflict in the Middle East.

Israel has warned Iran that the country is ready to attack unilaterally, amid rising tensions in the Middle East. On Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said "Israel is ready to attack Iran". This comes just a day after Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said his country could "act alone" against Tehran.

Canada dispatches: Alberta lifting of COVID restrictions prompts public protests

Doctor Deena Hinshaw • Premier Jason Kenney and Minister of Health Tyler Shandro
Alberta's Chief Medical Officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw made a series of announcements last week regarding the western Canadian province's COVID-19 strategy.

On July 29, the Alberta government rescinded mandatory isolation periods for those that have come into contact with an individual who is known to have COVID-19.

Starting Aug 16, isolation periods following a positive test result will no longer be mandatory, and support for hotel isolation upon entering Canada will no longer be available.

Alberta will become the only jurisdiction in the North America not to have mandatory isolation periods for those known to be infected with the virus.

Opposition to the move has been swift. Protests occurred in Edmonton and Calgary. Doctors and nurses vented their frustration over the lifting of the restrictions and the general lack of support over the course of the pandemic on social media. Medical experts in Ontario and Manitoba voiced concerns over Alberta's decision, recommending that their provinces decline to follow Alberta's lead and emphasized that provinces need to have a coordinated approach to ensure further disasters don't occur. Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi called lifting the restrictions "the height of insanity."

Comment: Overviews and political posturing? More scare than care? Not indicated are detailed assessments to back up or thwart 'politically driven medical decisions'.

Taliban won't readily cut ties with anti-China ETIM

China and Pakistan are pressuring the Taliban to make a clean break with the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other terror groups, many of which have sanctuaries in the northeastern and southwestern parts of Afghanistan.

That pressure is building as certain of the groups launch new assaults on Chinese interests in neighboring Pakistan, including the US$60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project that Beijing seeks to extend to Afghanistan for greater Central Asian connectivity.

China sees the ETIM in particular as a "direct threat to its national security", Foreign Minister Wang Yi told a Taliban delegation at a recent meeting. The militant group bent on destabilizing China's western Xinjiang region is also a threat to China's interests in Pakistan.

Beijing's request to the Taliban came after a joint China-Pakistan investigation showed ETIM and TTP colluded in a July 14 bus bomb attack that killed nine Chinese engineers working on the CPEC-related Dasu hydropower dam project in Pakistan's upper Kohistan region. The attack, which used explosive-laden cars to ram into the bus which sent it hurtling down the side of a mountain, also killed two Pakistani security officials and two others.

The ETIM, comprised of ethnic Uighurs and categorized by the UN and others as a terror organization, is committed mostly to destabilizing China's Xinjiang region, which it has said it aims to turn into an independent state known as "East Turkestan."
