It's a ridiculous, no good, stupid, rotten meme.

You know the idea that every horrible move that Precedent Trump ever made (like appointing John Bolton or launching Operation Warp Speed) was actually some super complicated three-dimensional chess move intended to accomplish the exact opposite of what he was actually doing? ("You don't understand, man! He's appointing Gina "CIA Torture" Haspel because he wants to expose her role in CIA torture!")

Yeah, that meme.

Well, as much as "Trump the 3D chess master" represented the apotheosis of Hopium for the Trump Train crowd (cf. The Babylon Bee's spot-on satirical headline from January 20, 2021: "Republican Starting To Think Trump Might Not Pull Off A Last-Minute 4D Chess Move"), the idea of three-dimensional chess itself is not without merit. After all, I employed it in 2013 to discuss the reality of "China and the New World Order" and used it again in 2014 to discuss the true nature of the Global Chessboard. (Don't blame me for launching the meme, though! The earliest reference I could find was a 2010 clip of Cenk Uyghur discussing liberal defenses of Barack Obama.)

Trump confirms calling for 10,000 National Guard for Jan 6th... Pelosi refused

President Donald Trump has confirmed reports he requested 10,000 National Guard troops ahead of the January 6th rally in Washington, D.C., only to be rebuffed by authorities.

Speaking Steve Hilton on "The Revolution," the former president outlined how he knew in advance of the crowd size:
"Everyone said we'll be at the rally. It was, I think, the largest crowd that I have ever spoken to before. I have spoken to big crowds, hundreds of thousands of people, more than that, but hundreds of thousands of people."
In response, Trump said he "gave the number" to the Department of Defense, insisting that 10,000 members of the National Guard would be needed.

Of the sixteen persons nominated for a cabinet position, as listed in the January 23rd issue of The Economist [After the chaos of the Trump era, what can Joe Biden hope to achieve?] nine have now been confirmed by the U.S. Senate and have assumed office. So we are better than halfway through the confirmation process.

You can't help but notice the diversity. Not one of them — not one of the sixteen — is a non-Hispanic white Protestant heterosexual male. To put that another way: Not one of the sixteen comes from the same slice of the diversity pie as did every single one of our nation's Founding Fathers.

(Am I still allowed to say "Founding Fathers"? "Founding persons," whatever.)

That is the working definition of the word "diversity" in our benighted age: no non-Hispanic white Protestant heterosexual males! That's true diversity!

Only one of the sixteen is a white male Protestant: Peter Buttigieg, the Transportation Secretary; and as an Episcopalian, his Protestantism is borderline. I used to be an Episcopalian, and I recall that bit in the liturgy where we prayed for the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

US foreign policy has clearly continued in the same direction, without missing a beat. Unlike in previous transitions in the White House, this time US President Joe Biden has not even really tried to promise even the faintest hope that it wouldn't.

There were a few glimpses of remote hope - particularly regarding the possibility the US wouldn't abandon its last arms treaty with Russia, New START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) - and Biden's promise of returning to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran Nuclear Deal.

However, in Biden's first speech regarding foreign policy since taking office, now posted on the White House's official website and titled, "Remarks by President Biden on America's Place in the World," reveals that, if anything, US belligerence on the global stage is set to only expand.
"America is back. Diplomacy is back at the center of our foreign policy."
Biden's opening remarks attempt to suggest that America has drifted away under his predecessor US President Donald Trump. But when he says "America is back," we are left to assume he means "back" to what the US was doing under the administration of US President Barack Obama under which he served as vice president.

Alex Salmond had not spoken publicly for almost a year, since the day he was acquitted of all 13 sex assault charges last March.

Keeping quiet, the former First Minister acknowledged in his opening remarks, had not "hitherto been my normal policy". "I said nothing... today, that changes," he said.

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) audience on Sunday afternoon booed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as President Donald Trump took credit for the Kentucky senator's November election win.

"My endorsement of Mitch McConnell at his request, he asked for my endorsement," Trump said, prompting loud boos from the crowd, "brought him from one point down to 20 points up and he won his race in the great state and the great commonwealth of Kentucky. He won it very easily. And I said, 'I wonder if I'm doing the right thing here,' but you know what, I did what I did."

"But he went from one point down to 20 points up very quickly, immediately actually, and he won his race. If you compare that to his other elections, I'm sure you'll see something interesting. But you know what, we got a Republican elected," he added.

The foreign ministers of China and India are urging further steps to stabilize tensions along their disputed border following the pullback of forces from an area where a deadly clash broke out last summer.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told his Indian counterpart, S. Jaishankar, on Thursday that the disengagement by front-line troops had "significantly eased the situation" and that now is the time to maintain the momentum of consultations, build trust and "achieve peace and tranquility in the border areas," his ministry said.

In a statement Friday, Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said the two sides "should now quickly resolve the remaining issues" along the Line of Actual Control high in the mountainous Ladakh region. He said that with their forces disengaging at friction points, "the two sides could also look at broader de-escalation of troops in the area and work towards restoration of peace and tranquility."

Comment: Despite the border clashes, anti-Chinese sentiments and banning of the certain products, India's trade with China grew in 2020. China supported hosting of 2021 BRICS summit in India.
China on Monday said it supports India hosting this year's BRICS summit and will work with New Delhi to strengthen the bloc, allaying concerns that the India-China border dispute will impact the forum.

India assumed the rotating chairmanship of the five-member summit, comprised of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa on January 1, taking over from Russia, which hosted the last summit as an online event in November because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

India taking over the BRICS leadership, for the third time since the group was formed, comes at a sensitive time as New Delhi's ties with Beijing are facing their worst challenges in decades. It's only after nine months and several rounds of negotiations that border troops have disengaged from the south and north banks of Pangong Lake.

In the aftermath of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, Former Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving recalled to House Admin how previous discussions with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her office factored in to his "blender of decision making," according to three sources with direct knowledge of Irving's talk with House Admin.

Pelosi's office had previously impressed upon Irving that the National Guard was to remain off Capitol Grounds, Irving allegedly told House Admin. The discussions, which centered around "optics," allegedly occurred in the months prior to the Jan. 6 riot, during a time when deployment of federal resources for civil unrest was unpopular with Democrats and many members of Congress.

The three sources who confirmed the discussion to the Daily Caller did so under the condition of anonymity, citing the fear of putting a chill on further witnesses to how the security situation unfolded Jan. 6. The discussion, if accurate, raises questions as to what role Pelosi's office had in the security failures that resulted in the resignations of both Irving and former Chief of Capitol Police Steven Sund.

Donald Trump Jr. says it is working class Americans, those earning the least in the economy, who will be forced to foot the bill for President Joe Biden's mass immigration agenda.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News's Washington Political Editor Matt Boyle, Trump Jr. said that President Trump "had it right" on immigration when he sought to reduce overall immigration levels to tighten the United States labor market and drive up wages.

Biden, in contrast, is flooding the U.S. labor market with cheap, often illegal, foreign labor that will have a disparate impact on the nation's working poor and working class — those at the bottom end of the labor market.
"The plans that Joe Biden is putting forth, it's creating a flood into this country. What is that going to do to the lowest income earners? When you have a flood of illegals coming in here, who's going to pay for all of their free health insurance and all the other freebies that the Biden administration wants to give them? Who's that going to impact the most?"

"It's probably not going to be guys like me. It's the lowest income earners who for the first time in modern history under Donald Trump actually saw real wage gains."

Comment: Biden is cutting sustainability for the American working class. Economic projections in 4 years? 8 years? The reality may be purposefully obscured but the math won't lie.
