Syrian army gaining upper hand in Damascus fighting

Damascus, Syria
Syrian troops inflict heavy losses on Jihadis after driving back attack on Damascus.

Latest reports from the fighting in eastern Damascus say that the Syrian army has successfully recovered all the strong points captured by the Jihadis in their attack of yesterday.

In particular the Syrian troops have recaptured the 'Fabric Factory' - captured by the Jihadis yesterday - which is a lynchpin of Syrian defenses in the area.

Scores of tanks, self-propelled artillery guns and other military hardware have started to arrive in Estonia from the UK and Germany, in what the UK defense minister has called the largest deployment in Eastern Europe since the Cold War.

The first of hundreds of UK military vehicles have arrived in Estonia on Wednesday, delivered by a ferry from ports in Britain and Germany, the UK Ministry of Defence reported.

The heavy military equipment - Challenger 2 tanks, Terrier, Titan and Trojan armored battlefield engineer vehicles as well as Warrior infantry fighting vehicles - will be moved from an Estonian port to a military base in Tapa, the ministry statement said.

One shooter killed four people across three crime scenes in three small Wisconsin towns before being taken into custody following a standoff with a SWAT team. A police officer is among the dead.

Some questions remain following press conferences with Marathon County police, who declined to release the names of those killed. Just before 12:30pm Wednesday, police responded to a "domestic situation" at Marathon Savings Bank, and then about 30 minutes later, they returned to the bank to find two people shot. The suspect had since fled the scene, WAOW reported.

Germany has announced it will deport two German-born Islamic State suspects to Algeria and Nigeria over suspicions they planned a terrorist attack. The first-of-its-kind deportation is intended to send a "clear warning to all fanatics."

A 27 year old with Algerian parents and a 22 year old with Nigerian parents were arrested last month as part of a terrorism investigation.

Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) flags, propaganda and guns were found in the men's homes in Gottingen, in the Lower Saxony state, during police raids last month.

Sott Exclusive: CCTV Footage of London Terror Attackers Car on Westminster Bridge

Westminster bridge car terror attack
CCTV footage caught the moment when possibly two terrorists (one white bald male and one black male) in a car mounted the sidewalk along Westminster bridge in London and ran over dozens of people.

One woman was apparently knocked over the side of the bridge and into the Thames river (see video). She is currently in a serious condition in hospital. The two occupants crashed the car into railings outside the Houses of Parliament and then stabbed a policeman nearby. Unfortunately the officer died later in hospital. Two other people died as a result of their injuries from being impacted by the car. The black male terrorist was shot by police.

US Military Now Personally Delivering Jihadis to Strategic Locations in Syria

ISIS made in USA
Everyone knows (or should know by now) that the US govt. created ISIS as a proxy mercenary army in order to carry out 'regime change' in the Middle East, most recently in Syria. Everyone should also be aware of the fact that the US government has been spending large amounts of US taxpayer dollars on training and arming this jihadi army. It's only logical, therefore, that as the relationship deepens, the US would take the next step of personally transporting the jihadis to specific destinations. That is, in fact, what happened recently when, as reported by the BBC:
"US-led coalition aircraft have for the first time carried out an airlift of allied fighters battling the jihadist group Islamic State (IS) in Syria.

The Pentagon said members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) alliance were dropped behind IS lines close to the Tabqa dam, west of the city of Raqqa.

Fierce fighting was continuing around the dam, thought to be a base for hundreds of foreign fighters, it added."

Standoff on the South China Sea: China denies plans to build on disputed shoal

Scarborough Shoal

China has denied it is planning to build an environmental monitoring station on Scarborough Shoal, a disputed landmass it has controlled since 2012 despite objections from the Philippines.

Last week, Xiao Jie, the mayor of China's Sansha City, which oversees the country's maritime territories in the South China Sea, claimed that the 200 sq. km water-filled rock circle, called the Panatag Shoal by the Philippines, was one of multiple sites where the country plans to build environmental stations, reclaim land, or construct docks in 2017.

During a press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday, however, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying refuted the plan, which had caused an outcry in Manila.

"According to the relevant bodies in China, the reports you mention that touch upon building environmental monitoring stations on Scarborough Shoal are mistaken, these things are not true," she said, according to Reuters.

"With regards to Scarborough Shoal, China's position is consistent and clear. We place great importance on China-Philippines relations."

Can't fool me twice: Of Crowdstrike's two claims of "Russian Hacking" - one proven wrong (so far)

Crowdsrike DNC
© Crowdstrike
The cyber-security company Crowdstrike claimed that the "Russia" hacked the Democratic National Committee. It also claimed that "Russia" hacked artillery units of the Ukrainian army. The second claim has now been found to be completely baseless. That same is probably the case with its claims related to the DNC.

Sometime around May 2016 the Democratic National Committee lost control over its email archives. It claimed that its servers had been "hacked" by someone related to Russian interests. DNC emails were published by Wikileaks and proved that the DNC had worked during the primaries against its statutes and in favor of one presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton. The DNC chair was forced to resign over the case.

The DNC had called in Crowdstrike, a company led by a one Dimitry Alperovich, a Senior Fellow of the NATO-aligned "think tank" Atlantic Council. After a short investigation Crowdstrike claims to have found intruding software on the DNC servers that, it says, has been exclusively used by Russian intelligence services. From there followed claims that "Russia hacked the U.S. elections".

Comment: In other words, Crowdstrike was hired to provide damage control and a multi-useful cover scenario.

Comment: There are many ways to fool the public, change up the status quo, maneuver a new dynamic. One of those methods is a false flag scenario where buildings explode and innocent people die -- assuring new security protocols and further ebbing of freedoms. "Russians hacked the DNC servers and influenced the election" is the intelligence equivalent of a false flag to assure a particular political trajectory, mask campaign evils, derail the new administration and control public response. Will it work?

Germany reneges on several arms shipments to Turkey

Erdogan and Merkel
© Sputnik International
The German government has refused to export military supplies to its NATO partner Turkey on a number of occasions over the past several months due to fears that the weapons could be used against the Turkish population, German media reports.

According to a letter from the Ministry of Economic Affairs cited by Sueddeutsche Zeitung, a total of eleven applications for arms deliveries to Turkey have been blocked by Germany's federal authorities. The letter, in which the ministry was reportedly answering questions from leftist lawmaker Jan van Aken, stated that the rejected requests had all come in the period from November 2016 to March of this year - roughly over 4 months. By comparison, Germany only rejected eight arms shipments to Turkey in the 5-year-period between 2010 and 2015, according to the outlet. The latest applications involved handguns, ammunition, and parts for the manufacture of certain armaments, the newspaper reported.

As a NATO partner, Turkey is legally entitled to apply for arms exports from members of the alliance. However, since the failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016 and the crackdown that followed, European officials have been increasingly concerned with Turkey's record on human rights, democracy, and freedom of the press.

Comment: Erdogan, in pushing extreme limits and attitude, will find he has lost more than he demanded to gain. On the other foot, Germany has many investments in Turkey that will also come undone, should a working arrangement be fraught and assurances absent.
