UK: Sordid history of the 7 tawdry MPs who defected from Labour

The 1960 film 'The Magnificent Seven' was apparently based on the true story which formed the basis of the 1954 Japanese movie the 'Seven Samurai'. 'The Magnificent Seven' was in fact a Hollywood re-make of that film and was full of heroism, self-sacrifice and human integrity. I loved it.

Charles Bronson and Yul Brynner were immense. Yesterday I watched the polar opposite of all those virtues when 'The Tawdry Seven' walked into a pre-arranged press conference in London full of giggles and self-importance to denounce the very political party they had been elected to represent less than 24 months ago.

Seven individuals who would struggle to be recognised in their own households took it in turn to savage the man under whose leadership every single one of them had been re-elected to Parliament with increased majorities. Jeremy Corbyn stood as the Labour leader in 2015 after Ed Miliband stood down. He won a convincing victory with 59% of the votes cast. He stuck to his election pledges and began to re-position the Labour Party as a genuine socialist party instead of the pale imitation of the Tories it had become under Blair and Brown.

Schiff wants to do his own investigation if Mueller doesn't present evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia

Adam Schiff

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA)
Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) hinted that he would not accept the findings of special counsel Robert Mueller as the end of the investigation into President Donald Trump and Russia.

CNN's Dana Bash asked, "We expect at some point maybe soon, maybe not, the findings of the Mueller investigation to finally be completed. If he finds that there was no direct collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, will you accept that?"

Schiff, "We're going to have to do our own investigation, and we are. We'll certainly be very interested to learn what Bob Mueller finds. We may have to fight to get that information. Bill Barr has not been willing to commit to provide that report either to the Congress or to the American people. We're going to need to see it. The American people need to see it. We may also need to see the evidence behind that report. There may be, for example, evidence of collusion or conspiracy that is clear and convincing but not proof beyond a reasonable doubt."

Comment: Puleeze! If there was anything resembling evidence it would have been leaked long ago. Schiff just prefers his warped conception of reality over reality itself.

Militant groups fighting the Syrian government left many weapons caches behind as they were retreating from the Syrian army; these are now being discovered in sweeping operations being conducted by the authorities.

The Syrian army has discovered US and Israeli-made weapons left behind by terrorists in the region around Damascus, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

Earlier in December, Syrian Security Forces discovered another big warehouse loaded with weapons left behind by terrorist groups in Daraa province in the south of the country. It contained numerous rifles, mortars, US-made Tao anti-tank missiles and recon drones.

Google admits it forgot to tell users about its hidden spy microphone

Google's Nest Secure alarm system
Google could face a backlash over privacy after admitting that Nest users were not told about the existence of a microphone on their devices.

Early this month, Nest Secure was updated to allow users to enable Google Assistant, the tech giant's virtual-assistant technology, to be used by the system's hub and keypad.

However, Nest users apparently did not know a microphone even existed on their security device.

According to Business Insider, the existence of a microphone was not disclosed in any of the device's product materials.

Euro-liberal democrazis threaten elected Hungarian MEPs with expulsion after Orban govt again links Soros network with EU mass migration agenda

A new media campaign by the Hungarian government accuses globalist billionaire George Soros and the EU of pushing open-borders policies. Brussels indignantly dismissed the campaign as a conspiracy theory and fake news.

Billboards with the images of Soros and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker tell Hungarians that Brussels officials "are launching experimental immigration projects with African countries; want to introduce mandatory settlement quotas; want to reduce financial assistance for countries opposed to migration," that last part specifically referring to Hungary.

Comment: All true.

Further accusations appeared on the government of Hungary's Facebook page, which says the EU wants to impose settlement quotas, weaken EU members' border protections and make immigration easier.

Comment: Also all true.

The EU Commission rushed to outright dismiss the ad campaign, calling it a conspiracy and "fake news," without going into detail in addressing Budapest's concerns.

Comment: Go Orban go! The most legitimate democratically-elected leader in the EU!

In fact, with his clear majority support, he's arguably the only one.

Which just goes to show that, in hating him, Euro-liberals really hate ordinary Europeans.

Belarus ready to 'unite' with Russia, Lukashenko says

Belarus is ready to merge with Russia, Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko said on the third and last day of his bilateral talks with President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

Rumors resurfaced this year that Russia could annex Belarus as Putin's constitutional term limits bar him from running for the presidency in 2024.

"The two of us could unite tomorrow, no problem," Lukashenko said in a video shared by a Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid Kremlin reporter on Twitter Friday.

"But are you - Russians and Belarussians - ready for it?" Lukashenko said as quoted by Interfax. "We're ready to unite and consolidate our efforts, states and peoples as far as we're ready."

Putin, meanwhile, stressed that "fully independent states simply do not exist in the world," bringing the European Union as an example of interdependence.

The Russian president has voiced support for Russia to unite with Belarus as early as 2011.

Three Tory MPs have resigned from the party to join an independent group, set up by former Labour MPs.

Anna Soubry, Sarah Wollaston and Heidi Allen wrote a joint letter to Theresa May to confirm their departure. The three held a press conference, criticising the government for letting the "hard-line anti-EU awkward squad" take over the party.

The PM said she was "saddened", but her party would "always offer... decent, moderate and patriotic politics".

The pro-Remain trio will join the new Independent Group - made up of eight Labour MPs who resigned from their party over its handling of Brexit and anti-Semitism - saying it represented "the centre ground of British politics".

How will Syria and her allies respond if Netanyahu attacks again?

s-300
Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Moscow to "test the stand of Russia and its allies in Syria on their intention to go to war if Israel bombs Syrian and Iranian objectives in the Levant". Netanyahu is seeking some answers related to the reaction of Russia and its potential participation or non-participation in a possible intermittent battle in the midst of war (as Israel prefers to call such interventions, "a battle between wars"). This tactic, an Israeli specialty, might take the form of Israel bombing the Russian S-300 surface to air missiles batteries delivered to the Syrian army as a bulwark against any future Israeli aggression.

"Iran and Syria informed their Russian ally that any significant military hit by Israel that threatens their national security will be answered immediately and on a disproportionate level", said a source among top decision makers in Syria.

The last Israeli violation of Syrian sovereignty was a provocation against an empty soft target in Quneitra by Israeli ground artillery. That was considered a childish gambit by Netanyahu, who is considered by his allies - according to the source - as lacking military expertise and knowledgeable only on the political level.

The tech giants continued their war on conservative and alternative voices today

The Republican Party and conservative leaders are AWOL on this issue as the tech giants continue to ban, de-platform and demonetize conservative voices.

Bolton fails: Venezuelan military still standing by Maduro - opposition must pass over 'our dead bodies', says minister

Venezuela's Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez attends a news conference in Caracas, Venezuela, February 19, 2018.
Venezuela on Tuesday shut the maritime border with nearby Dutch Caribbean islands ahead of an opposition effort to bring in humanitarian aid from foreign territories including neighbouring Curacao despite the protests of President Nicolas Maduro.

Maduro has rejected offers of foreign aid, denying there are widespread shortages and insisting that the country's economic problems are the result of sanctions by Washington.

Opposition leader Juan Guaido, who has been recognised by dozens countries as the legitimate head of state, has said that food and medicine provided in part by the United States will enter Venezuela by land and sea on Saturday.

The closure blocks movement of boats and aircraft between the western Venezuelan coastal state of Falcon and the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, said Vice Admiral Vladimir Quintero, who heads a military unit in Falcon. He did not provide a reason.

Venezuela's Information Ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
