GOP congressman: Bruce Ohr listed 'half dozen' FBI & DOJ officials who knew about Trump dossier ties
Ohr spoke with members of the joint task force of the Judiciary and Oversight committees for several hours in a closed-door session on Tuesday.
While he didn't identify the officials Ohr named, Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, told Fox News' Sean Hannity Tuesday night that he has heard Hannity mention some of them on his program in the past.
The arrogant hubris of American exceptionalism and the myths that sustain it are subjected to devastating analysis in this long overdue book. Martyanov has no patience with American strategic thinkers, Russian experts, American war myths, and General George S. Patton. No nation has ever assembled a greater collection of ignorant fools than the US and trusted them with the leadership of the country.
The consequence for America of the unreal image of itself in which the ruling elites live is a "very dangerous decline of American cognitive faculties" and "a complete loss of sound reasoning across the whole spectrum of national activities from foreign policy, to economics, to war, to culture." The hegemony claimed and pursued by neoconservatives, liberal interventionists, and garrulous patriots is inconsistent with the incompetence and delusion of the ruling American elites.
The memoir documents that at almost every turn, Barack Obama was painted into a corner by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu with the engaged support of the organized Jewish community. In doing so, it echoes a book Rhodes never dares to cite, but surely read, The Israel Lobby, by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, and backs up their most serious charge, that the lobby helped get us into the war in Iraq in 2003.
The book is hardly flattering to the former president. Obama emerges as a magnetic/enigmatic personality, but not very strong when it comes to international and intellectual challenges. He'd rather play cards than read a book. And he prefers the company of a cold young cipher/sycophant like the author to a mature thinker.
The biggest paradox here is that this is probably the only public statement on record, which they have ever made, which is 100% inarguably true as the sky is blue.
Who knows why they are making this announcement now. It may be a case of trying to maintain credibility by stating 'what every thinking person already knows'. Establishment shills have, for generations, whether as true believers or as paid 'role players', been chastising anyone making this statement on their own, as 'tin foil hat wearers'. Now it's an official CIA statement.
The constant stream of lies, disinformation, and misinformation has many people supporting and praising establishment figures responsible for criminal acts.
In recent weeks a trend has emerged which finds activists, journalists, and news pundits showing their true state-worshiping colors as they celebrate political figures with their own dark past. Individuals who once questioned and challenged the political establishment of both parties have now become so enamored with partisan division they are willing to sell their integrity in order to be seen giving thanks to men who do not deserve the praise of anyone with a conscience, let alone anyone with access to the internet.
Most recently, this trend has showed itself in the parade of celebrations for the now-deceased former U.S. Senator John McCain and former CIA director John Brennan. On Saturday, McCain finally succumbed to terminal brain cancer, leading to a barrage of commemorative tweets from individuals claiming to care about freedom and justice (and George Soros).

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia in May last year - his first foreign trip as president - was significant for two main reasons: first, the $110 billion arms deal it produced, and secondly, the regional blockade of Qatar it heralded. This was widely seen as having been greenlighted by Trump during his visit. The impact of the blockade - implemented by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt - was, however, immediately mitigated by increased trade with Iran and Turkey in particular, limiting its overall impact.
This month's attack on the Turkish economy, however, has had far more devastating results. Trump's tweet on August 10 - announcing a doubling of steel and aluminum tariffs on an economy already hit hard by his trade war - sent the Turkish currency into freefall. By the end of the day's trading, it had lost 16 percent of its value, reaching a nadir of 7.2 to the dollar two days later; before his tweet, it had never fallen below six to the dollar. Trump's move came on the back of Federal Reserve policies that were already threatening to provoke financial crises in over-indebted emerging markets such as Turkey. These are harsh punishments for countries long considered prime US allies in the region.

A caricature of Syrian President Bashar Assad spread on the ground in Cairo, Egypt, January 22, 2012.
This being said, when it comes to the Syrian president, we cannot avoid the legacy of a leader who did not hesitate to wage war on a section of his people after they rose up against his government in an insurrection that attracted the sympathy and support of external forces. Nor can we avoid the fact that, as a result, he was widely derided as a tyrant and a dictator, despised and disdained within his own country and beyond.
Though history does not recognize this depiction of Abraham Lincoln today, it happens to be true. Lincoln was painted as a monster by his enemies at home and loathed abroad, especially by a British establishment whose support for the US southern slavocracy still stands as a shameful indictment.
The Russian Foreign Ministry released an official statement commenting on the assasination of the head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko in the city of Donetsk on August 31 (source):
Tragic news from Donetsk - Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko was killed in a terrorist attack.
We express our condolences to Alexander Zakharchenko's friends and family and wish prompt recovery to the wounded and injured in the blast, and we wish Donbass residents courage and stamina.
We are confident that an investigation will be held soon and that all the circumstances of that crime will be established and the perpetrators and their sponsors will be identified.
However, it is clear that the goal of the terrorist attack was to derail the process of peaceful political settlement in Donbass and the implementation of the Minsk Agreements. It looks especially cynical against the backdrop of the recently announced "back-to-school" ceasefire. The assassination of one of the signatories of the Minsk Package of Measures runs along Kiev's logic of a military solution to the internal Ukrainian crisis. Such actions carry the serious risk of destabilising the situation in southeast Ukraine.
We call on Kiev to stop relying on terrorism to resolve Ukraine's domestic issues. We hope that responsible Ukrainian politicians will find the strength to stop the party of war and prevent the escalation of the confrontation in Donbass.

The captured militants said that they were from the Lions of the East Army group, which is affiliated with the Free Syrian Army, according to the ministry. Some 500 fighters were based at the militants' camp, which was located near the US-led international coalition's Al-Tanf military base.

Trapeznikov also said Friday that he was not ruling out the possibility of military provocations by Ukrainian forces after the assassination.
"Provocations are expected. We are aware of the plans by the Ukrainian side, we've noted military equipment movements. A number of violations have been registered. We are putting our ears to the ground, controlling the situation," Trapeznikov said.
Meanwhile, DPR authorities will continue seeking integration with Russia after the murder of its president, the region's new leader said Saturday. "Our foreign policy remains unchanged, it is integration with the Russian Federation," acting DPR leader Dmitry Trapeznikov said in a statement circulated by his press office.
