Puppet Masters
The Atlantic Council, until recently kept comparatively in the shadows for obvious reasons, is a think tank that has more than any other organization effected the transition of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization from a seeming Cold War relic with the break-up of the Warsaw Pact and the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 to the world's only and history's first international military network with 70 members and partners on six continents currently. All thirteen new full member states are in Eastern and Central Europe; four of them border Russia.
Three months ago it began collaborating with Facebook to police and censor that and (presumably) soon after other social media companies which in recent decades have become the major sources of information and communication for the seven billion citizens of the planet. No modest undertaking.
While on a visit to Finland, French President Emmanuel Macron suggested revising the relationship between the EU and Russia, raising the issue for the second time in recent days. Sputnik France has discussed this with Didier Tauzin, a French general and a former presidential candidate.
Didier Tauzin said that he agreed with Macron on this particular issue and that he endorses the idea of "returning Russia to the European community" - a concept Tauzin has consistently defended in his books and public appearances.
He believes that the European continent, which is the "heart of the world," and the birthplace of "the most humane civilization on Earth," is facing many problems. "Europe, of which Russia is part, expects a difficult 21st century," Tauzin said, pointing in particular to the fact that 80 years from now Europe will have to deal with an Africa that has a population of 4 billion people.
Mafia expert Roberto Saviano was right this week when he said that it's Britain, rather than Afghanistan, the South of Italy or Nigeria, which is the most corrupt country in the world. The fact of the matter is that the British public think they are detached from the mafia problem and corruption, yet London is the drug money laundering capital of the world, and 90 per cent of drug cash ends up in the US and Europe via London.
In Saviano's native Italy, the Naples based Camorra have a warrant out for Roberto's life, after he exposed the inner workings of members of the mafia in his book Gomorrah. He is a man willing to risk his own life for truth - and we should listen.
In London, the financial mafia don't take out death warrants on truth tellers, but powerful financial firms will destroy the lives and reputations of whistleblowers without a moment's hesitation, ensuring they never work in the financial services sector again.
According to a 2012 Newsnight report from the BBC's Joe Lynam, these City firms have a 100 percent success rate.
Former US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power has published a tweet suggesting that recently deceased Senator John McCain wanted to send "a parting message" to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump via his funeral ceremony.
Power claimed that the senator had specifically requested that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg be seated beside each other during the ceremony to indicate to Trump and Putin that the US "stands with its friends and allies."
Comment: Seriously? The seating plan? Only a narcissistic psycho would pre-arrange the seating at his own funeral. Bet Putin's shaking in his boots over that last shot. Not.
The leadership has now changed six times in the last eleven years, with four of those changes occurring outside of a general election, beginning with the summary removal of Kevin Rudd in 2010. Until that point, decades of de facto convention (though with no legal requirement) meant that whomever the political parties had represent them at elections would actually become Prime Minister, but once the floodgates were opened, the 'elites' began chopping and changing leaders as they saw fit.
The blasts occurred at the Mazzeh military airport late Saturday night, according to multiple reporters on the ground. Explosions can be heard in footage from Damascus posted on social media
According to unnamed officials and intelligence sources cited by multiple media outlets, the air base was the target of an airstrike or missile attack, and Syrian air defenses responded. Some reports suggested that there had been three explosions, targeting a research center in Jamraya near Damascus and a military depot, which suffered a direct hit.
Israel has previously launched strikes against Syrian territories and accused of targeting the Mazzeh airport, but has not officially acknowledged it as a target. Israeli missiles have reportedly hit the airfield in 2016 and January 2017. After last January's attack, the Syrian military warned Tel Aviv of repercussions for the "flagrant attack." The Israeli government does not comment on the details of its military operations abroad, but it has claimed it had hit Iranian forces on Syrian soil.

Syrian Air Defense repels airstrikes on Damascus suburbsUPDATE 20:30 CET
According to a source in the Syrian intelligence services, the unannounced airstrike hit an ammunition storage facility at the Mazzeh military airbase, however, the military airfield itself was not affected.
The source specified that Syrian air defense systems had repelled the airstrikes. The Times of Israel newspaper reported, citing sources, that the strikes had been conducted by Israeli aircraft.
The Syrians have apparently opted to 'eat' this insult, playing it down as an 'accident':
A chain of explosions at Mazzeh military airport in Damascus, Syria, late Saturday was caused by a short circuit at a nearby ammunition depot, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem has said. "As we understood from sources in the Syrian Defense Ministry, the reason for these explosions was a short circuit resulting from overheating, which was not the result of illegal Israeli aggression," he told Rossiya 24 television. It comes after previous reports suggested the site was targeted by an Israeli missile attack or airstrike. The airport is a key Syrian air force base located in the Mazzeh (Mezzeh) municipality to the southwest of central Damascus.
(Disclaimer: Ostrovsky may be a false opposition defector who leaks some truths as part of a Limited Hangout campaign to muddy the water overall. For example, he doesn't explain what really happened when Israel helped the Soviets stage a fake coup against Gorbachev {see below}, but I tend to think Ostrovsky simply didn't realize what was actually going on. Regardless, I think there is enough truth in his books to help us understand the bigger picture. -Timothy Fitzpatrick)

Jewish Banksters Finance Mossad
"Had this been a normal Mossad operation, he could have gotten as much money as he wanted from a bank sayan - a Jewish banker who is regarded as trustworthy and will open the bank for you at any time and provide as much money as needed"

Comment: Several books have been written about Maxwell's life and death, "The Assassination of Robert Maxwell: Israel's Superspy" by Gordon Thomas and Martin Dillon being one of them. One reviewer summarizes their contention that:
As the 1980s drew to a close, Maxwell's empire was in trouble. With interest rates high and the share price falling in his major companies, he secretly brought millions of his own shares through tax havens in Virgin Islands, Gibraltar and Liechtenstein. Maxwell purchased these through collateral for bank loans. He was secretly withdrawing vast sums of money from the pension funds of his 24,000 Mirror Group employees which he invested in French and Israeli companies. By 1990 repayments to his bankers had reached £415m a year while he was caught in a vicious debt spiral.
With police and journalists on his trail, an increasingly desperate Maxwell turned to Israel to bail him out. Mossad turned him down. When Israel refused to help, Maxwell threatened to spill the beans about his spying in the Daily Mirror. When the first claims of links between Mossad and Maxwell became public, the intelligence agency was seriously alarmed. Though he was a hero to many in Israel, Mossad concluded he had to be silenced before he could do serious damage. They recruited a four man "kidon" (death squad) to kill Maxwell.
[...]
A botched Spanish autopsy concluded his death was due to heart failure. They ruled out suicide because Maxwell was a good swimmer. His unhappy insurers insisted on a second autopsy which occurred before his burial in Jerusalem. This one found the most likely cause was drowning but the insurers refused to pay up anyway saying it was suicide. Maxwell was buried with full state honours in Jerusalem's Mount of Olives. Prime Minister Shamir, who probably authorised his death, eulogised "He has done more for Israel than can today be said". His death could not be spoken about either.
Mr Tarczyński, who made headlines in July after a combative interview with Channel 4 presenter Cathy Newman, spoke with Breitbart London following reports that the leftist coalition running the Austrian capital had cancelled the proposed statue of Polish king Jan III Sobieski, who broke the Turkish Siege of Vienna in 1683, claiming it may offend Turkish residents.
"What King Sobieski did was an act of defence; if not for Sobieski all Europe would be speaking Arabic - and if the Viennese want to speak in Arabic now, they are very welcome, but it's not going to change history. So please wake up, Austria, because history will not be changed," Tarczyński said.
"We have made S-400 deal with Russia. Someone is offended by it. We don't need permission from anybody," the Turkish leader said at the Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek on Saturday.
On Tuesday, US Defense Secretary James Mattis warned Turkey, a sovereign state and NATO member, against buying the systems. "Turkey had a choice to make, a sovereign decision to make. But clearly Turkey bringing a Russian anti-aircraft, anti-missile system into a NATO country, we cannot integrate that into NATO," Mattis said. "Yes, it does concern us and we do not recommend that."
Comment: Looks like US' sanctions on Turkey are not having the desired effect:
- Turkey and Qatar are being punished for refusing to do Washington's bidding on Iran
- Turkey is in a strong position to fight the economic war that Trump just made Official
"[The] US dollar has been removed from the list of currencies used by Iran and Iraq in their trade transactions and they are using Iranian rial, euro and Iraqi dinar for financial transactions," Ale-Eshagh said on Saturday, as quoted by local media.
Apart from switching from the US dollar to alternative currencies, Iranian and Iraqi merchants have been engaging in barter operations, according to the official. The banking system, however, still needs improvements, since only a fraction of trade between the two countries actually goes through banks.
"Resolving the banking system problem must be a priority for both Iran and Iraq, as the two countries have at least $8 billion in transactions in the worst times," Ale-Eshagh stated.

Comment: Fast forward...we can rest assured little has changed.
