French politicians as well as advocates for immigrants and housing rights are reacting strongly to a video shot last week of police forcibly removing women and children of African descent from a makeshift tent housing camp in a poor Paris suburb.
A video showing French police forcibly removing women and children from camps they had set up in a Parisian suburb has provoked reactions of shock at a time when the government is renewing an emphasis on issues of security.
The video was shot on July 21 by an observer from association Droit au Logement (Right to Housing) and then put online by French news site Mediapart and broadcast by US news channel CNN on Tuesday. By Friday afternoon, the video had been viewed nearly 300,000 times on French video-sharing site Dailymotion.

CCTV camera footage, caught in a Dubai hotel, where the operation took place, has led the emirate's police to put the names of more than two dozen suspects on the international wanted list.

Dr. David Kelly, the top British microbiologist and whistleblower, had close links to the dark world of secret intelligence.

It was lunchtime on London's Northern line. Deep underground, passengers were getting on and off the tube trains as normal. Two men boarded a train at Colliers Wood in south London. As the train gathered speed towards its next stop, Tooting Broadway, one of them got up from his seat and dropped a small carton of face powder out of the window. He could have been idly throwing away litter.
As the train sped on, the carton hit the tracks and burst. Out spewed millions of tiny spores, which began to spread throughout the dark tunnels. Dust swabs taken after three days and two weeks showed that the spores had spread as far up the line as Camden Town station in north London, 10 miles away.
This really happened. But the two men weren't terrorists but government scientists. And the spores weren't anthrax spores, but a harmless micro-organism designed to mimic clandestine sabotage with anthrax. This was an official experiment in 1963, and it showed how easily saboteurs could inflict a potentially devastating attack on Britain's capital.
David Kelly: The man who knew too much
Comment: Damning new evidence came to light last month that clearly implicates the Blair government in covering-up the murder of British scientist Dr. David Kelly. And this month it was announced that the UK's Attorney General would investigate a dossier submitted by a former KGB agent, now resident in the UK, detailing how the scientist was "exterminated in a planned assassination."
So can we expect the British government to overturn the 70 year timelock it placed on files related to Kelly's postmortem? Unlikely. When SOTT.net pulled on the threads related to his murder several years ago, it unravelled a series of connections that made plain why this man had to be silenced and why his murder had to be covered up.
With the new British government acknowledging that the case is far from closed, it seems timely to revisit the dark activities unearthed by Kelly's death.

Israel is working on a biological weapon that would harm Arabs but not Jews, according to Israeli military and western intelligence sources. The weapon, targeting victims by ethnic origin, is seen as Israel's response to Iraq's threat of chemical and biological attacks.
A scientist there said the task was hugely complicated because both Arabs and Jews are of Semitic origin. But he added: "They have, however, succeeded in pinpointing a particular characteristic in the genetic profile of certain Arab communities, particularly the Iraqi people."

Though presented as an offer to help ease tensions, the stance amounts to a sharp rebuke to China. Beijing has insisted for years that all the islands belong to China and that any disputes should be resolved by China. In March, senior Chinese officials pointedly warned their American counterparts that they would brook no interference in the South China Sea, which they called part of the "core interest" of sovereignty.

The lesson learned is that if you are sufficiently rich and/or powerful, you can subvert justice, the rule of law, the truth! Our nation is lost if truth is abandoned because the pursuit of it is a 'waste of time'. In such a society, no one is free; everything is based upon a lie and, based upon a lie, is unjust. Such a society is a police state, at best a tyranny of an uninformed 'majority'! The 'establishment' is not appalled by widespread ignorance; it depends upon it and promotes it. Such a society is finished! The U.S. will fall ignominiously as did Rome of its folly, arrogance and incompetence.
Only the guilty are sufficiently motivated to cover up a crime. Just as obvious is the corollary: the innocent have nothing to cover up! If Bush covered up and/or obstructed in any way the investigation of the crime of 911, then he is guilty of acts of obstruction of justice intended to hide the truth in ways that would protect him or his 'friends' or both! 'Obstruction of justice' was one of several serious allegations against Richard Nixon, leading to articles of impeachment, eventually his ignominious resignation.
