Puppet Masters
So he was by no means inconsequential.
After retiring, the Agency awarded him its Intelligence Commendation Medal. But as a measure of McGovern's character, he explains in this interview why he felt he had to return that medal.
McGovern instils hope that there are good people such as him in such organizations, in spite of these organizations seeming to have become drunk on their power.
In fact, so out of control have they become, McGovern suggests, that Obama is likely afraid of the CIA and the NSA and so won't rein them in, Obama explaining to close supporters some years back that he was afraid of having what happened to Martin Luther King happen to him.

Tri-partition, federalization, Plan B, whole and new country...what is to become of Syria? Not as simple as it looks.
Reuters reported on Thursday that Russia was engaged in talks with other global powers on the possibility of turning Syria into a federal state. "While insisting on retaining the territorial integrity of Syria, so continuing to keep it as a single country, of course there are all sorts of different models of a federal structure that would, in some models, have a very, very loose center and a lot of autonomy for different regions," a diplomatic source at the UN Security Council told the agency
However, the Kremlin responded by saying that no such talks were on the table - a message that was emphasized by Russia's Foreign Ministry on Saturday. "That is total nonsense. We are not voicing such ideas; they must come from the Syrians themselves - it is up to them to discuss and agree on such things," deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov said, as cited by TASS. Bogdanov added that, from Russia's point of view, it is better to maintain Syria's territorial integrity and keep its people intact.
This video is a few years old now, but it's more relevant today with what's going on in the Middle East than ever. They don't teach you this in school, kids, but whatever happens over there, just realize how absolutely manufactured all of it is.
Comment: We're already in 'WWIII' - it's the 'perpetual war' the Pentagon launched after 9/11, another false-flag.
For now at least, the Western powers have taken a different tack with respect to Iran.
It's also worth noting that the interventions in Libya, Syria and Yemen were undertaken using proxy forces that relied simply on the manipulation of information (lies) rather than false-flag attacks.
Since 9/11, we've been in a kind of 'permanent state of false-flag' in the form of 'Islamic' terrorism that is controlled by the Western powers.
In his verse entitled "An apology to the great Russian people", Haydar wrote that "fraternal bonds were severed right in front of our eyes".
The Turkish Air Force's F-16 fighter on November 24, 2015 shot down a Russian Sukhoi Su-24M bomber, involved in Russia's antiterrorism operation in Syria, that Ankara claimed violated the country's airspace on the border with Syria.
Russia's Defense Ministry said the Su-24M was above Syrian territory and "there was no violation of Turkey's airspace."
The article reporting this, at europeonline-magazine, also observed that, «The commission, the EU's executive, plays a leading role in accession negotiations between the bloc and aspiring members».
Comment: No one in their right mind in the EU wants war with Russia - which is exactly what the US is trying bring about by any means possible. In the coming months we'll see how steadfast Juncker and others are in maintaining this position because, as we've seen before, the US will put the screws to anyone and anything that gets in its way of world hegemony.
'Bernie Sanders is lying when he says his disruptors aren't told to go to my events. Be careful Bernie, or my supporters will go to yours!'
Donald Trump on Sunday morning went after potential general election rival Bernie Sanders by calling him a liar and indicated he might soon instruct his own supporters to attend Sanders' rallies in order to foment disruption and discord among his progressive (aka "super-liberal") base.
In a tweet, Trump declared:
Bernie Sanders is lying when he says his disruptors aren't told to go to my events. Be careful Bernie, or my supporters will go to yours!

Afek chairperson Effie Eitam has ordered fatal beating of Palestinians and has expressed his desire for them to be killed.
For the last year, Afek, an Israeli subsidiary of the US firm Genie Energy, has undertaken exploratory drilling in the Golan. Afek believes there is a vast reservoir of oil under Syria's Golan that could supply all of Israel's energy needs.
In September 2015, Afek announced it had discovered its first oil reservoir at one of the sites where it had been drilling. Last month, the company was granted the go-ahead to conduct more drilling in the Golan by the Israeli authorities.
In response, Palestinian legal rights group Adalah and Al-Marsad, the Arab Human Rights Center in the Golan Heights, wrote to Yuval Steinitz, Israel's infrastructure minister, demanding that the drilling permits be withdrawn. In the letter, attorneys Suhad Bishara and Karama Abu Saleh reminded Steinitz that international law requires that residents of the Golan be able to control and benefit from the land's resources.
Biden did not specify what the US action towards Iran would entail. But given that Washington has repeatedly violated international laws forbidding the mere verbalizing of aggression by threatening that "all options are on the table" with regard to Iran, the US action could mean a military response. Or it could mean the US blocking the lifting of economic sanctions as part of the international nuclear accord signed last July with Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers.
For its part, Iran said that the missiles tested this week were for conventional, non-nuclear warheads. Tehran rejected US claims that it had violated the P5+1 nuclear accord, which mandates that Iran foregoes any nuclear weapons development. Iran saysit has the right to develop all conventional weapons for defensive purposes. Given that Israel actually does possess nuclear missiles and, like the US, has illegally threatened Iran on countless occasions with pre-emptive military strikes, one could reasonably expect Iran to develop long-range missiles for defense.
Comment: Indeed it looks like there are the rumblings of a new nuclear arms race and Washington is again chasing its tail. There are globally more than enough nuclear warheads to go around and obliterate us all to kingdom come...so the reasoning is: let's redesign them more bigger better? Who wins has always been the question. Test bans and non-proliferation agreements have to be equal and universal to work, no exemptions.
One has to ask if a non-compliant Israel, with over 300 (some say 400) nuclear warheads, isn't the US' nuclear ace in the hole -- the reason for this dysfunctional partnership, and in-part why the US submits to Israeli demands and abuse.
Prices should fall to around $30 once the empty nature of an OPEC-plus-Russia production freeze is understood. A return to the grim reality of over-supply and the weakness of the world economy could push prices well into the $20s.

Participants in a rally demanding liberation of Nadezhda Savchenko attack the Russian Embassy in Kiev with paint and eggs.
Ukrainian ultranationalists staged a series of attacks on Russian consulates in Kharkov, Lvov and Odessa, as well as the embassy in Kiev, pelting the buildings with stones, eggs, smoke bombs, flares and even Molotov cocktails.
The radicals demanded the liberation of Ukrainian army pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, who is currently on trial in Russia. While serving in a Ukrainian voluntary battalion as a spotter, Savchenko called a mortar strike on a group of civilians and a TV crew from Russian state television, which resulted in the deaths of two Russian journalists, Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin.
Comment: Even official Washington is having trouble upholding the fiction that Ukraine is a free, democratic, card-carrying member of the "civilized world". What is it about American-supported regimes behaving so badly? See also:

Comment: At the end of the day, it is up to the Syrian people to decide the future of their country. There should be no other self-serving plans or agendas on the table.
