Washington choreographing all-out war with Russia?

Image

The reckless American leaders are putting in place incendiary elements that heighten the risk of all-out war with Russia.

For several weeks now the Ukrainian self-defence militia in the breakaway eastern Donbas region have been warning that the US-backed Kiev regime is readying to break a fragile ceasefire and resume its offensive. The refusal, as mandated by the truce, to fully withdraw heavy artillery and the ongoing practice of live-fire drills near the conflict zone are evidences cited.

With the reported arrival of 300 American paratroopers in Ukraine collaborating with Kiev's Neo-Nazi National Guard brigades - the worst offenders over the past year's fighting in eastern Ukraine - that development is an alarming harbinger of imminent conflict.

Comment: Well, there doesn't appear to be any hope in hell that the American people will do anything to stop the US/NATO war machine.

The 'War on Cash' in 10 spine-chilling quotes

Image

The war on cash is escalating. As Mises' Jo Salerno reports, the latest combatant to join the fray is JP Morgan Chase, the largest bank in the U.S., which recently enacted a policy restricting the use of cash in selected markets; bans cash payments for credit cards, mortgages, and auto loans; and disallows the storage of "any cash or coins" in safe deposit boxes. In other words, the war has moved on from one of words to actions.

Here are ten quotes that should chill the spine of any individual who cherishes his or her freedom and anonymity:

Anti-Russian sanctions to expire in July, Italy calls for their cancellation 'at the earliest possible moment'

Italian businesses were exposed to severe economic pressure because of the anti-Russia sanctions.

Economic sanctions imposed against Russia over the situation in Ukraine must be canceled at the earliest possible moment, the Italian economy minister said Monday.

"I sincerely hope that we will come to canceling [anti-Russian] sanctions as soon as possible, and that economic partnership between Europe and Russia, as well as Italy and Russia will continue to grow," Pier Carlo Padoan said, answering a RIA Novosti question at a press briefing in Rome.

He stressed that many European and Italian businesses operate in Russia, with some of them experiencing a decrease in productivity, and some even having to close.

Comment: At this point a "healthy" relationship with Russia is looking like a lot of wishful thinking. The EU has proven that it cannot be trusted, France won't deliver battleships, there's constant fear-mongering over "Russian aggression", and Ukraine is in ashes. There will be no full implementation of a ceasefire in Nazi-run Ukraine. However, canceling sanctions would be a step in the right direction, if there is an independent will still left in the EU 'leadership'. Also see:

Surprised? Despite the EU's 'disapproval' Kiev refuses to implement the Minsk Agreement

The Kiev government constantly delays the implementation of the Minsk Agreement, causing disapproval among European countries.

Critical voices are increasingly heard among the EU countries regarding the unwillingness of the Ukrainian government to implement provisions of the Minsk Agreement, "Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten" reported.

It particularly concerns Ukraine's attempts to delay its implementation and reluctance to realize the decentralization agreed in Minsk.

Comment: The EU shouldn't have gone along with Washington's coup in the first place. The mess is on their doorstep now. The Ukraine is now run by a clique of neo-Nazi fanatics, the neo-Nazi battalions are out of control, and there's no telling what those lunatics will do with a wink and nod from Washington. Also see:

France plans to pay back costs for the Mistral helicopter carriers ordered by Russia if they are not delivered, returning €800 million and paying compensation for other expenses totaling €300 million, French media reports citing government sources.

Paris is expected to fund the compensation from €2 billion that Poland will pay to buy French helicopters, according to Le Journal du Dimanche.

The decision on compensating Russian costs for the Mistral ships hasn't yet been legally formalized; however France and Russia will take another month to set the exact terms of the annulment of the contract for the Mistral war ships.

In addition, Russia will give France the right to resell the two helicopter carriers, the newspaper says adding that some NATO countries have already shown interest in buying them.

Comment: It will be interesting to see if France will try to find a way to weasel out of the deal.

Palestinian medical sources said dozens of Palestinians have been injured during clashes in different areas of occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli Ynet News said the incident took place near the Mount of Olives, and that three of the officers suffered mild injuries, and one suffered moderate wounds on her lower limbs.

Clashes took place in the area after more police units, and ambulances, rushed to the scene to evacuate the wounded officers.

More clashes took place in Silwan, and the Muslim Quarter of occupied East Jerusalem.

Comment: Looks like Israel has its hands full with the increased tensions in the occupied territories. Probably won't be long before this escalates.

Yemeni Foreign Minister Riyadh Yaseen rejected a call for peace talks issued by former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, pointing out that the Saudi-led military operation against Houthi militia will continue, Reuters said.

The foreign minister said during a conference in London:
"These calls are unacceptable after all of the destruction Ali Abdullah Saleh has caused. There can be no place for Saleh in any future political talks."

Comment: The Houthi militia is not backing down. It seems a ground war is inevitable.

Can you feel it? Can you See it? Our world continues its precipitous downward slide into increasing chaos and madness. ISIS is exposed, once and for all, as a proxy tool of Saudi/US warmongers in Yemen. Nepal is hit by a devastating earthquake that kills thousands in Kathmandu, and Chile's Calbuco erupts, as the 'West' celebrates the 100th anniversary of the deliberately planned slaughter of 140,000 allied soldiers in the battle of Gallipoli in 1915. 250,000 turkish soldiers also died, but they're not so important. Up to 900 people, including 50 children, drowned when the boat in which they were travelling capsized in the Mediterranean as it made its way from NATO-destroyed Libya to Italy. Wild weather continues all over, from unprecedented storms in Sydney, to severe storms across the US mid-South. Chaos isn't coming, it's here. Are you paying attention?

AIPAC-backed legislation targeting BDS movement advances in Congress

From the Montgomery bus boycott in 1955 to the anti-Apartheid campaigns in the 90s, Senator Ben Cardin has spent his life supporting boycotts as a tool for achieving racial, social and economic justice. That all apparently changed when Palestinian civil society decided to adopt boycotts as a tactic to challenge Israel's brutal military occupation.

This past Tuesday Senator Cardin introduced an AIPAC-backed amendment to a trade bill that seeks to thwart the growing boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement. Although it's not yet publicly available, the text of Senator Cardin's amendment is reportedly similar to an amendment that was passed by the House Committee on Ways and Means on Thursday.

Declassified: Report on NSA surveillance flares up battle for privacy

In anticipation of the Patriot Act surveillance law's expiration, the White House has declassified a six-year-old report on NSA practices. Some Republican lawmakers are seeking the prolongation of bulk data collection.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) has released the redacted report on the National Security Agency surveillance program following a lawsuit filed by the New York Times in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act.

The report was prepared by experts from the CIA, the Justice Department, NSA, ODNI and Pentagon back in July 2009.

Comment: An upcoming political battle that will get drawn out to the last minute. There is no reason to believe the Patriot Act will change in any significant way. It will be renewed.
