Puppet Masters
In my opinion, the top 10 outcomes of the event are:
1. The meeting started the second cycle of BRICS summits. This time it focused on sustainable solutions for inclusive growth. It confirmed common interests in broadening multidimensional cooperation, including mutual trade and investment. With combined GDP around 21% of global volume, 20% of global trade and 11% of accumulated investments, the five countries represent one of the largest markets in the world.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, the President delivered a comprehensive speech. This video clip is an extract from his speech.
Note how he says it all comes down to one primary objective in the Middle East: Israel's liquidation of Gazans.
In light of the subsequent Israeli assault on Gaza, perhaps it's not such crazy talk after all...

The Prime Minister made the hugely provocative pro-EU speech on the day Croatia became the Union's 28th member state as he toured the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan.
Talking to Kazakh students in the capital Astana he said: "Britain has always supported the widening of the EU.
"Our vision of the EU is that it should be a large trading and co-operating organisation that effectively stretches, as it were, from the Atlantic to the Urals.
"We have a wide vision of Europe and have always encouraged countries that want to join."
The Urals mark the unofficial border between Europe and Asia in Russia.
His remarks indicate that he believes that Ukraine, once known as the bread basket of the USSR, should be admitted to the EU.
They come as British MPs prepare for a crunch vote on an in/out referendum this Friday.
Comment: This is the Atlantic Empire's pathetic response to Eurasian integration, as outlined in Putin's speech earlier this month regarding a "humanitarian and economic union from Lisbon to Vladivostok."
The EU extending "from the Atlantic to the Urals" is never going to happen because of the Russian-Chinese alliance, but it's nevertheless instructive regarding Atlanticists' dreams of world domination. For such a scenario to happen, for starters, they'd need to force regime change in Moscow.
"Washington will gain nothing from such decisions except for further complication of Russian-American relations and the creation of an unfavorable atmosphere in international affairs, where the cooperation between our countries often plays a key role," the statement by the ministry reads.
"We have repeatedly spoken about the illegitimacy and groundlessness of the US sanctions against Russia," it said, commenting on a new package of sanctions announced by Washington on Tuesday.
In addition to steps taken earlier, the US has now added four new names to the list of Russia-affiliated entities sanctioned by Washington, including the Bank of Moscow, the Russian Agricultural Bank and VTB Bank OAO, as well as the state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation.
While you are likely familiar with FATCA, let's review: a few years ago, the Obama-led US government decided to go on a campaign of massive financial imperialism, passing a let that forced every other sovereign nation on earth to be an unpaid tattletale for the IRS.
Basically, the US used its unique position as a center for global movement of cash to impose a special 30% "withholding tax" on the assets of any foreign financial institution - offshore banks, brokerage houses, etc. - that refuse to turn over all financial details on US persons to the IRS.
Banks like TD Bank in Canada have reported that becoming FATCA compliant has cost them at least $100 million. For all of American liberals' complaints of "creating jobs offshore", the booming FATCA compliance industry seems to be doing just that, as banks spend billions of dollars to cater to American whims.
Comment:
"Due to the complicated and tedious requirements, U.S. citizens living in other countries are losing jobs, banking accounts, pension funds, insurance contracts, and are being turned away as clients and business associates. In addition, FATCA will financially impact citizens at home since it doesn't pay for itself. This boondoggle is creating serious backlash for the U.S. economy and goodwill abroad."

The South Stream gas pipeline, which bypasses Ukraine, may halve the value of Ukraine's gas transportation system (GTS), according to Andrey Kobolev the head of Ukraine's Naftogaz.
After the Russian - led South Stream project is complete and working at full capacity, the value of Ukraine's GTS may fall as much 50 percent from the present estimate of $25-$35 billion, RIA Novosti quotes the head of the company.
"We have no wish to lose it, and it's unreasonable," Kobolev said on a Ukrainian local TV channel.
Construction of the South Stream pipeline in Bulgaria and Serbia was suspended following pressure from the EU to comply with competition law. After a while construction resumed.
"They [Gazprom] are ready to invest their own 15 billion euro in South Stream construction ... This gas pipeline will take away from the Ukrainian transit potentially up to 60 billion cubic meters. Currently the transit carries 86 billion cubic meters," Kobolev said.

U.S. President Barack Obama, right, meets with Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister of Israel in 2011.
Think again.
Today July 29th, a transcript of a conversation between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu was leaked and, if true, it's very revealing. Here is the transcript, translated from Hebrew by Israel's Channel One and published by the Times of Israel in English:

Heavy smoke and fire billow following an Israeli military strike in Gaza City on July 29, 2014.
He remains dead set on achieving his version of a Final Solution to Gaza. With or without "pressure".
So what's left for the Fab Five after having their illustrious Western collective behinds solemnly kicked? They decide to dump Gaza and instead SANCTION RUSSIA! AGAIN! How brilliant is that as an exit strategy?
Spectacular non-entity Tony Blinken, who doubles as deputy national security adviser to Obama, was keen to stress to Western corporate media that the unruly Eurotrash mob is now "determined to act". No, not against Israel because of Gaza; against Russia because of Ukraine. Such a lovely Orwellian symmetry; the extended Two Minutes Hate from Israel towards Gazans morphs into the extended Two Minutes Hate from the "West" towards Russia, mirroring the extended Two Minutes Hate from Kiev towards Eastern Ukrainians.

Defense Intelligence Agency Director Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn (2nd from r.) was among the US intel chiefs testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill last year.
"We have a whole gang of new actors out there that are far more extreme than Al Qaeda," says Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, which employs some 17,000 American intelligence collectors in 140 countries around the world.
That the United States is no safer - and in some respects may be less safe - even after two wars and trillions of dollars could prove to be disappointing news for Americans, noted the journalist questioning General Flynn at the Aspen Security Forum last week.
Still, Flynn was firm on that point. "Yeah, my quick answer is that we're not," he said.
America is less safe today in large part because of the emergence of terrorist groups like the Islamic State, formerly know as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The group is stoking regional wars in Syria and Iraq that will only continue to increase in complexity, Flynn said.
Then what about the claims from those within the Obama administration that core Al Qaeda is on the run?
On this point, Flynn - a strong personality who is slated to retire from the US military next month after clashing with higher-ups in the intelligence community - took issue as well.
Comment: Since we know that the U.S. essentially created the terrorist group formerly known as ISIS, not only have the 2 wars and trillions of dollars been a total waste, we now have a super-dangerous terror group running around the Middle East further destabilizing the region. Either the freaks running U.S. foreign policy are complete morons, or they just want to watch the world burn.

Comment: It will be very interesting to follow how the BRICS countries' alternative framework comes together in the face of a collapsing dollar. When the dollar goes, the other oppressive functions of a faltering US-led empire will go with it.
