"In that regard, we need to unite. We need to show global solidarity to address the common enemy of ISIL, Daesh, some other extremists and terrorist groups," Ki-moon said, referring to Islamic State.
The UN Secretary-General stressed that he "highly commended the leadership of the Russian Federation together with the United States to address some of the root causes of terrorism," Reuters reported.
He said that the United Nations is currently assembling information and gathering ideas and experience from its member states. Early next year, the UN is going to present a "comprehensive plan of action to defeat violence and extremism," Ban said.
US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard introduces legislation to end illegal war in Syria to overthrow Assad
In a remarkably candid interview with Wolf Blitzer, Gabbard calls Washington's effort to oust Assad "counterproductive" and "illegal" before taking it a step further and accusing the CIA of arming the very same terrorists who The White House insists are "sworn enemies."
In short, Gabbard all but tells the American public that the government is lying to them and may end up inadvertently starting "World War III."
For those who missed it, here's the clip:
That was before Paris.
Well, in the wake of the attacks, Gabbard has apparently had just about enough of Washington vacillating in the fight against terror just so the US can ensure that ISIS continues to destabilize Assad and now, with bi-partisan support, the brazen Hawaii Democrat has introduced legislation to end the "illegal war" to overthrow Assad.

One way to view Official Washington is to envision a giant bubble that serves as a hothouse for growing genetically modified "group thinks." Most inhabitants of the bubble praise these creations as glorious and beyond reproach, but a few dissenters note how strange and dangerous these products are. Those critics, however, are then banished from the bubble, leaving behind an evermore concentrated consensus.
This process could be almost comical - as the many armchair warriors repeat What Everyone Knows to Be True as self-justifying proof that more and more wars and confrontations are needed - but the United States is the most powerful nation on earth and its fallacious "group thinks" are spreading a widening arc of chaos and death around the globe.
Every global war gets started with a so-called "spark," or crisis situation, Farley writes in an article for The National Interest. He goes on to pinpoint five modern-day conflicts that could incite World War III if political solutions can't be found for each of them.
Comment: It is not a failure of the world powers to understand the dangers of war games but possibly a planned provocation. Indeed with all the tensions around the world rising rapidly, it wouldn't take much to light the fuse.
The resolution "calls upon member states that have the capacity to do so to take all necessary measures ... on the territory under the control of ISIL ... in Syria and Iraq." IS "constitutes a global and unprecedented threat to international peace and security," the resolution says.
Russia has repeatedly called for action to cut the terrorists' financial lifelines, with President Vladimir Putin revealing on Monday that IS is receiving funding from 40 countries.
Syria's UN Ambassador, Bashar Ja'afari, hinted prior to Friday's vote that this resolution was long overdue. "Welcome to everybody who finally woke up and joined the club of combating terrorists."
Meanwhile, Russia is continuing its work on a draft resolution proposing international military campaigns to fight against Islamic State. The current text is an updated version of a document submitted on September 30. The text, submitted on November 18, stresses the need to coordinate military actions with the governments of the countries where the anti-terror operations are being conducted.
Comment: Will the Russian military resolution be accepted as easily, given the origins of ISIS and the resistance of Western action and resolve to remove this threat?
The footprints left in this archival footage reveal the coordinated, clandestine sculpting of the America we know today. Evidence of Revision proves once and for all that history has been revised, even as it was written!
Russia has a long-term plan to rebuild Syria after the terrorists there are defeated, which requires the involvement of other regional powers to ensure that the threat of terrorism is extinguished, Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten [DWN] reported on Saturday.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin is pursuing a long-term strategy in the Middle East, according to which Syria's traditional allies play an important role," wrote DWN.
Comment: Hot on the heels of the Paris attacks, the US-led alliance is still pursuing the overthrow of Assad, despite the well-known fact that, from Iraq to Libya, this will only strengthen terrorist groups. Meanwhile, Russia has provided a very effective model of how to deal with both the terrorist and migrant crises.

Police on alert outside the Stade de France, site of detonations at the soccer match on November 13, 2015.
Counter-intelligence and police sources had told Reuters earlier that the first suicide bomber to be determined as arriving in France from Greece, who blew himself up at Gate D, may have had an accomplice as he was traveling through the Balkans to Western Europe. That terrorist was identified from a Syrian passport near his body as Ahmad al-Mohammad. However, it remains unclear whether the document actually belonged to the man whose body was found next to the stadium or had been stolen.
The first identified suicide bomber, Ahmad al-Mohammad, was apparently fingerprinted at the same time as the second on October 3 in Greece. Molins said that the fingerprints of the second suicide bomber, who blew himself up at Gate H of the stadium, and of the refugee fingerprinted at the Greek border with Mohammad were proven to match.

Paris suspects update: Salah still on the run from police AND ISIS; police release 7 out of 8 suspects arrested during St-Denis raid

Belgian citizen Ahmet Dahmani, suspect in Paris attacks, is escorted by police officer.
Ahmet Dahmani, 26, was arrested at a luxury hotel in the southern coastal city of Antalya on Saturday, after traveling from Amsterdam on November 14, an unnamed Turkish official told Reuters. "We believe that Dahmani was in contact with the terrorists who perpetrated the Paris attacks. The investigation continues," the official said.
According to Turkey's Dogan news agency, the suspected Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) operative is believed to have scouted out targets for the Paris attacks.
Two other men - both Syrian - were detained on suspicion of planning to help Dahmani cross safely into Syria. The accomplices, identified as 29-year-old Ahmet Tahir and 23-year-old Muhammed Verdi, are believed to have been sent by Islamic State to ensure his safe passage across the border.
Comment: There are all kinds of questions here, given the rhetoric and the narrative. "We believe" instead of "we have evidence;" Dahmani wasn't on a watch list; no indication how he got to Amsterdam and then Turkey under the radar; Turkey has been less than reliable (as has the US) in pursuing terrorists and their affiliates; its borders are still not "ISIS secure;" and Dahmani was arrested in a "luxury hotel"...many invites to speculation.
Is it just me, or does John McCain - a man that everyone knows is full of hate (especially for Russia) - actually choke on his own rage at two different places in this recent interview he gave to France 24?
Two things really got his goat in the interview: (i) Assad himself, who McCain blames for killing 250,000 people, and (ii) the Russians, who he still hasn't forgiven for Crimea. In fact, he's still utterly enraged over it.
Comment: He didn't quite choke hard enough.

Comment: Tulsi Gabbard has proven that there are some politicians in the US who see the reality of what US foreign policy is about and are willing to speak out condemning it:
