Corona Scare Show Continues... Dr. Fauci says coronavirus turned 'out to be my worst nightmare' and it 'isn't over'

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci attends the daily coronavirus briefing in the Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House on April 09, 2020 in Washington, DC. U.S. unemployment claims have approached 17 million over the past three weeks amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said Covid-19 turned out to be his "worst nightmare" come to life as the coronavirus continues to rapidly spread across the globe.

The virus is "something that's highly transmissible. ... In a period — if you just think about it — in a period of four months, it has devastated the world," Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said in an interview with the BIO Digital virtual health-care conference that aired Tuesday.

Comment: How does the promoter of a specific industry become an expert to the Government?. Dr. Fauci who wrote a paper on Coronavirus in New England Journal of Medicine (published on March 26, 2020) saying Coronavirus is not deadly and then switched sides to incessantly promote the dangers of the virus .

Coronavirus expert Dr. Anthony Fauci makes many contradictory statements and his opinions swing wildly. He often promotes social distancing, masks, and lockdown. Other times, he says Masks are Symbolic and 'staying close too long causes irreparable damage'. It is intended to confuse the scared public to obedience to take the vaccines that have proven track record of debilitating side effects and death. See also:

AIPAC tells US lawmakers what's acceptable criticism on annexation of West Bank

AIPAC Tells Lawmakers It's Okay to Criticize Annexation

If you're a U.S. politician who opposes annexation, but has been waiting for permission from the biggest pro-Israel lobby group to actually criticize it, I have some good news for you: This week AIPAC announced that such comments were fine to make, assuming they don't go too far.

The Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) reported that AIPAC is providing lawmakers with this guidance over Zoom meetings and phone calls. The parameters are pretty obvious: you can say annexation is bad, but you can't actually suggest conditioning military aid or holding Israel accountable in any way. "So far, the group has remained publicly silent about annexation," writes Ron Kampeas, "But in private, AIPAC is telling lawmakers that as long as they don't push to limit the United States' aid to Israel, they can criticize the annexation plan without risking tensions or a clash with the lobby group."

AIPAC has been dealing with a PR problem in recent years and this move should probably be understood in that context. A majority of Democratic voters support conditioning aid to Israel, more and more lawmakers skip their annual conference now, and Netanyahu's close relationship with Trump has further eroded Israel's brand.

Comment: AIPAC may still be a fairly powerful group in Washington, but that does seem to be changing bit by bit by bit:

Turkey has not told the truth about the murder of Russian Ambassador Karlov

Ambassador Andrey Karlov was shot dead by a Turkish off-duty police officer in 2016
On December 19, 2016 Andrei Karlov, who had been the Russian Ambassador to Turkey since 2013, was murdered by off-duty police officer Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş at an art exhibition in the Turkish capital of Ankara. After gunning down Karlov, Altıntaş was heard saying "Do not forget Aleppo, do not forget Syria" and "We die in Aleppo, you die here." This was in reference to the November-December 2016 operation by the Syrian Army and its allies, including Russia, to liberate jihadist-held areas of southern and eastern Aleppo.

Turkey claimed that FETÖ, an Islamic movement led by Fetullah Gülen who was a former ally of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan but now turned enemy, was to blame for the murder. Ankara's prosecution office claimed that Altıntaş had ties to FETÖ and wanted to push Russia and Turkey to "the brink of war."

Russo-Turkish relations rapidly deteriorated when on November 24, 2015 Turkey shot down a Russian military jet in Syrian airspace, resulting in the death of a pilot. A Russian soldier was also killed during the operation to rescue the second pilot. Although Turkey did not shy away from taking full responsibility for the incident, Russian Academy of Sciences senior official Ruslan Kurbanov claimed the order to down the Russian plane was given by a Gülenist Turkish Colonel in the NATO-controlled Incirlik Air Base in southeast Turkey. Other high-profile Russians made the same claim.

'Homage to hate': Pelosi stokes division in calls for removal of Confederate statues from Capitol

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi speaks during her weekly press conference at the Capitol on June 4, 2020.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday called for the removal of Confederate statues in the nation's Capitol building after renewed calls to remove them from public spaces following the death of George Floyd.

The California Democrat wrote a letter to the Joint Committee on the Library, which oversees statues in the U.S. Capitol, calling for the removal of the artifacts because they lionize America's slaveholding era.

"[T]he halls of Congress are the very heart of our democracy. The statues in the Capitol should embody our highest ideals as Americans, expressing who we are and who we aspire to be as a nation," Pelosi said in the letter. "Monuments to men who advocated cruelty and barbarism to achieve such a plainly racist end are a grotesque affront to these ideals. Their statues pay homage to hate, not heritage. They must be removed."

Comment: Pelosi apparently feels so passionately about this issue and yet is only speaking out about it now? Or could it be that, like so many other pathological political opportunists, she's dangerously fanning the flames of division, manipulating those she claims to be speaking for, while really aiming to reap whatever benefits that she can, for herself, from the current chaos?

Nine-judge panel strikes down law legalising Israeli settlements on private Palestinian land

All Israel's settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, territories it seized in the 1967 war, are considered illegal under international law

Israel's Supreme Court struck down a law on Tuesday that had retroactively legalised about 4,000 settler homes built on privately owned Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank.

A nine-judge panel voted to repeal the 2017 measure, under which settlers could remain on land if they built there without prior knowledge of Palestinian ownership, or if homes were built at the state's direction. Eight voted in favour and one against.

Rights groups say the measure, which was frozen soon after passage while the court heard petitions against it, had legalised more than 50 settler outposts built without government approval.

The law "unequally infringes on the property rights of Palestinian residents while giving preference to the proprietary interests of Israeli settlers," Chief Justice Esther Hayut wrote in the panel's ruling.

Comment: Unfortunately, Israeli governments ignore the hue and cry, even from their own courts. Barring some unforseen intervention, expect the annexation to go forward. How bad will the blood-letting get?

Germany confirms US planning troop cuts

us military germany
The German government says it has received formal notification of a possible partial withdrawal of U.S. troops stationed in the country, a move that some worry sends the wrong signal to Russia and damages NATO security.

Comment: Some people are total idiots. So what?

The June 10 announcement follows media reports that U.S. President Donald Trump had ordered the withdrawal of up to 15,000 of the approximately 34,500 U.S. soldiers stationed in Germany.

Both the White House and NATO have declined to comment on the media reports.

"The federal government has been informed that there are considerations in the U.S. administration to reduce the presence of the U.S. armed forces in Germany," Chancellor Angela Merkel's spokeswoman Ulrike Demmer told journalists in Berlin.

"As far as we know, there has been no final decision," she added.

Some U.S. lawmakers have warned that if implemented, the reported plan would damage U.S. national security and strengthen Russia's position in Europe.

Poland naming Russia as its biggest security threat shows 'depressing irresponsibility' of its government - top Russian diplomat

Polish President Andrzej Duda
The Polish government is subscribing to highly irresponsible policies when it conjures up an imaginary Russian threat instead of tackling the actual dangers the world faces, a senior Russian diplomat has said.

"A Russophobic attitude elevated to the status of national policy is unlikely to make Poland a reasonable partner in confronting the real challenges and threats that humanity faces" such as the Covid-19 pandemic, Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov told RIA Novosti on Thursday.

He was referring to Poland's freshly minted national security strategy, which proclaims Russia's "neo-imperial policy" as its biggest threat. The document was signed by President Andrzej Duda last month, replacing the previous version, from 2014.

Trump says admin 'will not even consider' renaming bases named after Confederate leaders, after Army signals openness

trump
President Donald Trump said his administration "will not even consider" renaming military bases originally named after Confederate leaders, a day after the Army issued a statement saying top military leaders were "open" to the discussion.

"It has been suggested that we should rename as many as 10 of our Legendary Military Bases, such as Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Fort Hood in Texas, Fort Benning in Georgia, etc. These Monumental and very Powerful Bases have become part of a Great American Heritage, and a history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom," the president tweeted on Wednesday.

"The United States of America trained and deployed our HEROES on these Hallowed Grounds, and won two World Wars," Trump continued. "Therefore, my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations. Our history as the Greatest Nation in the World will not be tampered with. Respect our Military!"

In a statement on Monday, an Army spokesperson said Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy were "open to a bi-partisan discussion" about renaming the bases.

5G, the US Air Force and a new track of the arms race

5g and US airforce
At Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada - announces the Pentagon - construction of a 5G experimental network will begin in July. It will become operational in January 2021.

The Red Flag, the most important air manoeuvre in the United States, took place at this base last March, with the participation of German, Spanish and Italian forces. The latter were also composed of F-35 fighters which - the Air Force says - were "integrated with the best of American military aviation" in order to "exploit the full potential of the aircraft and weapons systems on board", including certainly the nuclear ones. At the Red Flag in 2021, 5G mobile networks consisting of towers, that can be assembled and disassembled in less than an hour for rapid transfer depending on the operation in progress, will probably already be in operation for testing in a real environment.

The Nellis base is the fifth selected by the Pentagon to test the military use of 5G: the others are in Utah, Georgia, California and Washington State.

Greek-Italian maritime deal disrupts Turkey's endeavor for East Mediterranean dominance

Greek-Italian Maritime Deal
Greece and Italy signed a historic agreement yesterday that demarcates the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) of the two countries in the Ionian Sea. The agreement signed between Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio has many ramifications in the entire Eastern Mediterranean region, but especially against Turkey's ambitions of East Mediterranean hegemony.

The agreement helps establish Italy as an energy player, especially as it has already taken an active position in the construction of the Eastmed pipeline - a major project between Greece, Cyprus and Israel, whose joint pipeline will eventually reach Italy through a secondary pipeline project. The EEZ signing comes as Greece, Cyprus, Israel and Egypt have strengthened their relations at a time when Italy was acting unilaterally to serve their own interests. This changed however as Rome was becoming increasingly excluded from developments in the region. An example of this is Italy not having as much influence as they wanted over the war in Libya. By acting unilaterally, albeit not as aggressive as Turkey, Rome ran the risk of being completely left on the fringes of East Mediterranean issues. This is because Greece, Cyprus, Israel and Egypt continued to make deals, improve multilateral relations and assert strong influence over events in the region.
