Puppet Masters
The report, issued jointly by the UN human rights office and the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, states that an estimated 3,500 people are "currently being held in slavery" by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).
"Those being held are predominantly women and children and come primarily from the Yazidi community, but a number are also from other ethnic and religious minority communities," the report says.
"The Russian Su-34 bombers have struck terrorist strongholds near the village of Bagilya in the Deir ez-Zor province where Islamic State [IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) have recently executed 300 civilian from the local population for the sake of intimidation," Defense Ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said.
Over the weekend, Islamic State jihadists have reportedly slaughtered up to 300 people in the Deir ez-Zor province, killing "whole families" for alleged cooperation with the Syrian Army.
The airstrikes also destroyed three trucks with ammunition, two SUVs with mounted Zu-23 anti-aircraft cannons, he said. Konashenkov said the Russian Air Force is continuing its operation "to deliver food and essential items to areas blocked by terrorists" in Syria.
Shapiro also raised "questions about Israel's long-term intentions" in the occupied West Bank, saying the US administration is "concerned and perplexed" by Tel Aviv's settlement policy in the area. "This government and previous Israeli governments have repeatedly expressed support for a negotiated settlement that would involve mutual recognition and separation," he said. "Yet separation will become more and more difficult" if Israel continues its settlement activities.
The prime minister's office rejected Shapiro's unprecedented criticism, calling his remarks "unacceptable and wrong." "Israel enforces the law on Israelis and Palestinians. The onus for the stalemate in the diplomatic process is [on] the Palestinian Authority, which continues to incite and refuses negotiations," it said.
Comment: Yes, Israel enforces the law on Israelis and Palestinians. But take the occupied West Bank for example. There, Israeli settlers largely fall under civilian rule, while Palestinians are subject to Israeli military law. It's a total double standard, and when one looks at the situation through the lens of Palestinians living under armed military occupation, who can blame them for fighting back against their oppressors?
There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people. (Howard Zinn, 1922-2010.)Britain's aiding and abetting of the brutal, head chopping, summarily executing, flogging regime of Saudi Arabia continues unabated.
In spite of a "Letter before action sent as threat of legal action over arms export licences to Saudi Arabia increases ..." (1) by London law firm Leigh Day, acting on behalf of Campaign Against the Arms Trade: " ... challenging the government's decision to export arms despite increasing evidence that Saudi forces are violating international humanitarian law (IHL) in Yemen ... ", it transpires that UK military advisors are also "working alongside Saudi bomb targeters."
According to the Daily Telegraph:
Briefing the Telegraph and other journalists the Saudi Foreign Minister, Adel al-Jubeir, said that the UK and other countries in the control centre: " ... are aware of the target lists.""British military advisers are in control rooms assisting the Saudi-led coalition staging bombing raids across Yemen that have killed thousands of civilians, the Saudi Foreign Minister and the Ministry of Defence have confirmed." The source declined to reveal any further details.
Elsewhere in Yemen, over 120 mercenaries, including the Saudi, UAE and US officers, were killed in the Yemeni troops' missile attack on the command center of the Saudi-led coalition in Ma'rib.
"The Yemeni army missile unit fired a Tochka missile at the operations room of the Saudi-led forces in Ma'rib (on Sunday) and killed over 120 mercenaries with different nationalities," Ali al-Houthi, an Ansarullah Movement Leader, told FNA on Tuesday.
"46 Saudi mercenaries, 11 UAE and 9 Saudi officers and 11 foreign commanders of the US Blackwater company were among those killed in the attack," he added.
Houthi said that 6 Apache and 4 Black Hawk helicopters and 4 drones armed with missiles were also destroyed in the attack.
The command room of communications with the spying satellites and airplanes was also destroyed completely.

'Islamic' terrorists in Aleppo, Syria, completely off their heads on 'supersoldier' drugs
On the surface, those competing actors are fueled by an overlapping mixture of ideologies and political agendas.
Just below it, experts suspect, they're powered by something else: Captagon.
A tiny, highly addictive pill produced in Syria and widely available across the Middle East, its illegal sale funnels hundreds of millions of dollars back into the war-torn country's black-market economy each year, likely giving militias access to new arms, fighters and the ability to keep the conflict boiling, according to the Guardian.
Comment: The Washington Post, which is and always has been effectively a CIA press office, is telling us that the 'Islamic' mercenaries in Syria are behaving like 'superhuman soldiers' thanks to a 'miracle' drug.
Clearly this is something that is very powerful.
We're going to make a leap here and suggest that Western intelligence came up with this variant of 'Captagon' specifically for this purpose, and sent a load of it to Saudi Arabia in 2010 so that it would be ready to dole out to the 'Wahabbists' beginning the following year.
The Tunis-based presidential council said in a statement that it has agreed on a 32-member cabinet with members drawn from across the country. It is not clear where the new government would be based in or can govern the oil-rich North African country.
In October last year, UN special envoy for Libya Bernardino Leon proposed the formation of a power-sharing government with a list of candidates for the new cabinet. He nominated Fayez Sarraj a member of the Tripoli-based parliament, as the Libyan prime minister. Also among the new government's posts, were three deputies for the prime minister, representing the country's east, west and south, and two ministers to complete a presidential council.
Libya has been grappling with violence and political uncertainty since the oil-rich country's former dictator, Muammar Gaddafi, was deposed in an uprising in 2011. Armed groups and regional factions have been fighting for power over the past years.
Since August 2014, when militias seized the capital, Tripoli, Libya has had two parliaments and two governments with one, the General National Congress (GNC), run by the rebels in the capital and the other, which is internationally-recognized, based in the northeastern city of Tobruk.
The proposal for national unity government was dismissed by the rival factions on October 12. Mahmud Abdel Aziz, a lawmaker from the GNC, said that the proposed government "is rejected" as "it will deepen difference between the Libyan people."
Comment: The US destabilized Libya and saw to the removal of Gaddafi, leaving Libya ripped apart and primed for invasion, greed and corruption. Whether this new government profile works or not, hopefully it is a step in the direction of Libyan stability and recovery from purposefully engineered destruction, chaos and the suffering of its people. Russia's aerial onslaught in Syria is effectively restricting US & Turkey's ambitions
The move comes less than a month after Turkey said it had reached a deal with Qatar to set up its first military base abroad.
Comment: If it weren't for NATO Al-Shabaab wouldn't be the menace that it is. Certainly then, Turkey's role won't be in defeating them but merely exploiting the situation for NATO's benefit.

The military is planning to test the fresh forces, infrastructure and weapons deployed to the regions bordering the Black Sea in the headquarters exercise Caucasus-2016, scheduled for September, the sources told Novaya Gazeta daily. The exercise will include joint use of various forces in the Caucasus Mountains and on the Black Sea, they added.
The plans to reinforce Russia's southwestern borders must be tied with NATO's plans to boost its military presence in the region, as well as with its constant effort aimed at increasing the combat abilities of the Ukrainian Army, the newspaper suggested after receiving the sources' information.
Comment: Washington's aggression ensures no peaceful reconciliation between NATO members and Russia. But that's precisely what the warmongers want.

Greville Janner had been charged with 22 sexual offences dating back to the 1960s against nine alleged victims, most of whom were under 16 at the time.
Comment: The alleged 22 child sex offences, involving nine children and young adults then cared for in children's homes, range from indecent assaults to buggery.
Yet despite what police described as significant amounts of evidence, prosecutors declined to bring charges against Janner on two occasions, before finally being forced into an embarrassing U-turn last year.
But legal proceedings were left in limbo following Janner's death last month, just days after he was found unfit to stand trial at the Old Bailey.
Announcing the decision not to press ahead with the planned trial of facts, prosecutor Richard Whittam QC revealed in court that more charges were scheduled to be brought against the peer.
Mr Whittam said that a copy of the peer's death certificate had been produced for the court file, bringing an end to the matter.
Trial judge Mr Justice Openshaw agreed: "There is nothing more to be said. That's the end of the proceedings."

Comment: Israel picks the US president, and likely the US ambassador to Israel as well. Shapiro is playing a role and his recent public candor may be nothing more than the US/Israel 'dog and pony.' Regardless, nothing is going to change any time soon unless the US gains a truth perspective on how thoroughly it has been, and continues to be, manipulated by Israel.
