Puppet Masters
"If another violation of our aerial border happens, we can respond in the same way," he said. "The plane was shot down within the rules of engagement announced earlier."
On Tuesday, a Turkish F-16 fighter jet fired at and downed a Russian warplane conducting a combat mission in Syria. Ankara maintains the Russian Su-24 bomber crossed the border and remained in Turkish airspace for 17 seconds.
Russia denies any violations. It also rejects Turkey's claims that its military repeatedly warned the pilots of the Russian jet before attacking it.
"We still haven't heard any apologies from the leadership of Turkey, nor have we heard any proposal to compensate damages or to hold those responsible for this heinous crimes to account," said Vladimir Putin during an official address in Moscow.
Erdogan rejected Moscow's grievances.
"Today, in accordance with a decision by the Supreme Commander of the Russian Armed Forces, an S-400 air defense system was promptly delivered and deployed on combat duty at the Hmeymim air base in Syria," ministry's spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.
On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the Defense Ministry's request to deploy the S-400 Triumf (SA-21 Growler) at the airbase in order to protect Russia's Aerospace Forces operating in Syria.
The decision was made after Turkey's Air Force downed an Su-24 Fencer bomber operating in Syria against the Islamic State.
Comment: Note this is broadly announced so there won't be any misunderstandings of the purpose for the missile defense.
Footage released online by the Istanbul-based Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) shows plumes of smoke from the burning trucks and people running about in panic. At least 20 trucks were engulfed in flames.
The mission, however, wasn't sponsored or organized by the IHH, the group said. No organization has as yet confirmed that the convoy belonged to them.
"Our teams helped to extinguish the fire... The trucks do not belong to us and there is no information on who bombed them," Mustafa Özbek, an official from İHH, told Reuters.
At least seven people were killed and 10 injured in the incident, according to the Turkish Anadolu agency. The trucks were reportedly heading to the town of Azaz in northwestern Syria.
Comment: Given Turkey's treacherous downing of a Russian warplane, any cross-border activity will naturally be viewed with suspicion.
Turkish newspaper editor in court for 'espionage and treason' after revealing weapon convoy to Syrian militants
Besides the editor, Can Dündar, the prosecution said it is seeking the same pre-trial restrictions for Cumhuriyet's representative in Ankara, Erdem Gül.
Dündar arrived at an Istanbul court on Thursday, saying that he and his colleague "came here to defend journalism."
"We came here to defend the right of the public to obtain the news and their right to know if their government is feeding them lies. We came here to show and to prove that governments cannot engage in illegal activity and defend this," Dündar was cited by Today's Zaman.
Comment: Erdogan can't have freedom of the press exposing his 'dirty laundry'. Cumhuriyet had just made the following revelation: Mystery over who bombed Turkish convoy allegedly carrying weapons to militants in Syria

A military vehicle of the Iraqi security forces is pictured near the University of Anbar, in Anbar province July 28, 2015.
The capture of Palestine Bridge, straddling the Euphrates river in northwestern Ramadi, means Iraqi forces have the city surrounded. They will now move to clear the city of the Sunni militants one neighborhood at a time.
"The bridge is now entirely under our control," said Sabah al-Numani, spokesman for the Iraqi counter-terrorism forces, which are deployed on the western side of the bridge along with federal police.
"We are tightening our grip on them (Islamic State)."
I admired his efforts to end the secular fascist gulag state founded by the alcoholic pedophile freemason Attaturk, and turn Turkey into an Islamic democracy.
I admired him for breaking up the neocon-Zionist Ergenekon plot to overthrow Turkish democracy via a 9/11-style false flag.
I admired his management of the Turkish economy, which enjoyed near double-digit growth during most of his term in office.
I admired him for saying he was going to use the Turkish Navy to break the blockade of Gaza after the Israelis murdered ten people, including eight Turkish nationals, aboard the Mavi Marmara.
And I admired his "zero problems with neighbors" policy, under which Turkey maintained good relations with every legitimate country in the region - including Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Russia - and refused to help the Zionist-dominated USA destroy Iraq in 2003.
But in the wake of his insane decision to shoot down a Russian plane for a trivial, most likely nonexistent, border violation, Erdogan has finished tearing his own legacy to shreds. He may also have set the stage for the carving-up of Turkey, in accordance with Israel's ongoing Oded Yinon plan to balkanize the Middle East.
The NATO attack on a Russian military jet on Tuesday November 24, using the Turkish air force to do its dirty work, is a dangerous act of war against Russia with very dangerous consequences for the world. The murder of one of the pilots, shot by ISIS terrorists while parachuting to the ground, is a war crime for which Turkey and the NATO countries are collectively responsible. President Putin has rightly called it a stab in the back by Turkey, a betrayal that cannot be forgiven and will forever be remembered.
If anyone ever doubted that the joint criminal enterprise called NATO was supporting and directing the terrorist groups in Syria, the same groups, they claim, that conducted the attacks in Paris and on the Russian airliner over Sinai, they now have the proof.
Can there be any doubt that this attack on Russian forces in Syria is intended to disrupt the Russian-Syrian campaign against those NATO supported terrorist groups? Can there be any doubt that if they are willing to shoot down one Russian aircraft they are willing to shoot down more? Can there be any doubt that this attack is intended to push Russia to react with counter force against Turkey resulting in a claim by NATO that it is under attack, resulting in a general war?
Comment: The consequences for the world are going to be pretty darn bad, as long as events continue along their current trajectory. As the author noted, these NATO leaders know 'no morality, have no conscience'. They behave like psychopaths, and the fate of the West is still in their hands. Also see:
"This project is no different from any other, we are talking about our investment cooperation [with Turkey], it is one of the most perspective investment projects, and, just like any other project, it falls under the law on special economic measures," Ulyukayev said, commenting the fate of the Turkish Stream.
Construction on Turkish Stream was scheduled to begin in June, but was postponed pending a formal agreement. According the Russian Energy Ministry, Russia and Turkey were expected to sign the pipeline agreement no earlier than December 2015.
Not me: Turkey's Erdogan says Assad regime and supporting countries provide ISIS weapons and finance
In an escalating war of words, he responded to Russian accusations that Turkey has been buying oil and gas from Islamic State in Syria by accusing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his backers, which include Moscow, of being the real source of the group's financial and military power.
The downing of the jet on Tuesday was one of the most serious publicly acknowledged clashes between a NATO member and Russia for half a century, and further complicated international efforts to battle Islamic State militants in Syria.
Comment: Erdogan certainly has a strange imagination: Terror state Turkey's blatant hypocrisy and treachery

Comment: Ankara still wants to maintain ties? What kind of planet are these people living on?
