Skripal 'spies' received phone call following Salisbury visit - British security services won't disclose who called them

Comment: A minor 'update' to the Skripal Saga...

skripal suspects salisbury

'So. Here we are. Yep...'
The Russian men suspected of poisoning Sergei and Yulia Skripal in Salisbury received a phone call after returning to London on the day of the alleged attack, raising the possibility that a backup team played a role in the operation.

One theory being considered by investigators is whether the call, which has not been disclosed before, was a signal to tip them off that the operation had been a success.

Scotland Yard's counter-terrorism unit said the inquiry into the poisoning was ongoing and detectives would not be drawn on any specifics.

But it is understood that investigators are sifting other pieces of evidence which suggest that the suspects - Anatoliy Chepiga and Alexander Mishkin - may not have been acting alone.

Comment: You don't say! Those two numbskulls had no idea what they were getting into...

Comment: As we suspected at the time, the two hapless Russians were led to Salisbury under the pretext of meeting someone for a 'sports supplement trade'. This person was a no-show, twice, but was in contact with them throughout the weekend to ensure they stuck around, visited Salisbury, twice, and were captured by every CCTV between there and Heathrow...

Julian Assange is dragged from the Ecuadorian embassy by British police
Material from WikiLeaks founder's time in Ecuadorian embassy is said to include two manuscripts

Julian Assange's belongings from his time living in the Ecuadorian embassy in London will be handed over to US prosecutors on Monday, according to WikiLeaks.

Ecuadorian officials are travelling to London to allow US prosecutors to "help themselves" to items including legal papers, medical records and electronic equipment, it was claimed.

Comment: Sputnik adds:
Police are getting ready to seize the belongings of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and search for documents and possessions he left behind when he was arrested by police after Ecuador had revoked his asylum status on 11 April.

On Sunday, the newspaper El Pais reported that Ecuador would provide the US with Assange's mobile phones, computers, memory cards, and other data storage devices following a search of the room where he resided for almost seven years.

The office of Ecuador's attorney general informed Assange's lawyer Carlos Poveda about this decision.

In turn, the coordinator of his defence in court, Baltasar Garson, said that the decision of the Ecuadorian party completely violates the institution of asylum.

Washington, who is seeking Assange's extradition on charges of conspiracy to commit computer intrusion, has until 12 June to provide London with all the necessary documents on the issue.

Al Jazeera pulls video that links Zionism with Nazism & calls Israel 'biggest winner' of Holocaust

arab jews holocaust
An Al Jazeera video which accused Israel of exploiting the Holocaust to carry out a Nazi-like policy of "annihilation" against the Palestinians has been deleted following accusations of anti-Semitism.

Posted on the Arabic version of Al Jazeera's popular current events channel, AJ+, the short commentary video argued that while the Holocaust did in fact happen, the total number of Jews killed by the Nazis was "inflated by the Zionist movement" to create international support for the creation of Israel.

"The annihilation of any people because of their race, sex or religion is an unacceptable thing that deserves to be strongly denounced. Denouncing the Holocaust is a moral obligation," video's presenter, Muna Hawwa, said. "But Israel is the biggest winner from the Holocaust, and it uses the same Nazi justifications as a launching pad for the racial cleansing and annihilation of the Palestinians."

Illegal immigration: A criminal phenomenon

Italy: Human trafficking one of the lucrative businesses for foreign criminals.
AN INTERVIEW WITH FRANCESCA TOTOLO

"Never before has a criminal phenomenon enjoyed widespread international support by governments, political parties, religious and civilian organizations, popular opinion, and never before has a sovereign state renounced to exercise control over its borders."

These opening words by Gianandrea Gaiani are a fitting introduction to Francesca Totolo's latest book Inferno Spa. Gaiani is no stranger to the business of illegal immigration, being an author of several books on the subject. He was interviewed by Gefira in 2017 when the Italian government was then still a center-left pro-migrants coalition. Totolo has agreed to an exclusive interview for Gefira and we recently met her in Florence, where she was presenting her new book.

Francesca Totolo is a freelance investigative journalist and collaborates with a variety of Italian and international press agencies and websites. Her investigations have been published both in Italy and abroad. We could easily call Totolo a diligent - and outspoken - journalist as her new book, which she wrote with Dante's Inferno in mind, involves just that: solid, painstaking, diligent research and fact-checking. The result is the equivalent of an encyclopedia of who's who in the business (Spa is the Italian acronym for joint-stock company, equivalent of the German AG) of the immigrants' industry, an industry which moves an unending flow of human beings and money.

She has divided her book into different sections, entitling them with some of Dante's appellatives in his Divine Comedy: first the ferrymen or Charons who deliver thousands of human beings to the other bank, then the hypocritical NGOs followed by the traitors to the country at all levels, sided by the omnipresent politically correct mainstream media and well-funded organizations of all sorts.

All these infernal characters have in the end one Master Mind, who acts like a modern and nefarious Virgil: George Soros and his mind-boggling network. Totolo is ready to point out, at the conclusion of her book, that Soros is himself an actor, albeit of the highest level, lending his face to higher "movers and shakers behind the curtains", who have already decided that the original European population must be replaced.

Comment: Europe's migrant crises: Accidental or predesigned?
Countless investigations have shown that a vast network of none governmental organizations (NGOs), many with ties to unsavory figures such as George Soros and his "Open Society Foundation", are not only responsible for lobbying the European Union and its various governments for increased refugee admittance, but also in operating the rescue boat services that act as little more than ferries to taxi migrants across the Mediterranean where they arrived by the thousands per week. From that point, these NGOs, along with various religious and charitable institutions, have then proceeded to settle them in camps and social centers, all to the tune of large profits for the care and feeding of their human charge. Not only have migrants been given housing and meals, but even pay of €35 a week for their expenses (as well as free roam of cities and surrounding areas outside these camps under the pretext of seeking employment). As expected, this has generated more than its share of problems for those areas who have received this influx of human cargo.

Organized crime has also played its part well in arranging to smuggle many groups of migrants, either to their port of departure on the war-ravaged coasts of Libya, and even from a country of entry (where a migrant must reside for five years if they have claimed asylum), or even across these borders to wealthier nations with much more expansive social welfare benefits and economic conditions for them to take advantage of. Besides the usual groups of "Open Borders" and humanitarian advocates, these NGOs have also been accused of collaborating with organized criminal groups such as the Italian Mafia in order to speed up the migration process by smuggling them into other nations of Europe.[..]

One would be extremely naïve to believe that these recent events are just unplanned and sporadic coincidences. No, they are only the beginning of a culminated plan of many decades for the eventual merger of Europe and Africa into a single economic and eventually political union, all for the benefits of the elites who will have at their disposal an unlimited supply of mineral resources and human labor in which to process them.

Washington's war on Venezuela's economy undermines stability in the global market, the country's oil minister, Manuel Quevedo, told OPEC just days after the US placed him on a sanctions list alongside other Caracas officials.

American sanctions generate "disturbances in the flow of oil supply to the world market as well as serious economic damage and suffering to the Venezuelan people," Quevedo said on Sunday in Saudi Arabia, ahead of a ministerial panel meeting of top OPEC and non-OPEC oil producers.

Exit polls indicate Modi on course to win second term as Indian PM - by substantial majority

Prime Minister Narendra Modi
India's ruling National Democratic Alliance headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party is on course to win the general election by a substantial margin, multiple exit polls indicate.

The world's largest democracy, with nearly 900 million eligible voters, finished its complicated, weeks-long, multi-stage election process on Sunday to decide who sits in India's 543-member lower house of parliament, the Lok Sabha.

While the final results will not be officially announced until May 23, multiple exit polls show that Modi will most likely secure his second five-year term as prime minister after a strong performance by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in an epic clash with the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) led by Rahul Gandhi from the Indian National Congress (INC) party.

The OPCW, the Douma gas attacks & the Skripals

collage skripals syria gas attack
© The OffGuardian
In view of the latest revelations from the leaked report, which seem to prove that at least some elements of the Douma "chemical attack" were entirely staged, we want to take look back at the chaotic events of Spring 2018.
  • What was the agenda behind the Douma false flag?
  • Why was the US response seemingly token and ineffective?
  • Why was the Secretary of State Rex Tillerson fired?
  • What agenda tied the Skripal case to the Douma attack?
The following is an extract from an article by Catte originally published April 14th last year, which takes on a greater weight in light of certain evidence - not only that the Douma attack was faked, but that the OPCW is compromised.

You can read the whole article here.

Comment: The OPCW may as well close up shop. Its once-impeccable reputation for impartial investigation is in tatters. OPCW confirms leak of covered-up report, suggesting Douma incident 'false-flag' is genuine
Peter Hitchens, for a long time the only mainstream voice to express any doubts about the "official narrative" on Douma, wrote to the OPCW to ask about the leaked report.

He wrote a column about it. We suggest you read it, but the most important passage, taken directly from an OPCW statement, is this:
"Pursuant to its established policies and practices, the OPCW Technical Secretariat is conducting an internal investigation about the unauthorised release of the document in question."
Note the language. Nowhere is it disputing either the findings of the document, nor the veracity. Instead, they are "conducting an investigation" into its "unauthorised release".

That is as close to an admission as makes no difference. For now, we can safely conclude the document is real, and the findings genuine.

That means, not only that the Douma "chemical attack" was likely staged, but that the OPCW knew this and chose to cover it up.

A very distressing series of events, and one that could easily have lead to an all-out war between Syria, Russia and NATO.

Google pulls Huawei's Android license, forces it to use open source version, wait for updates

Google has cut off Huawei’s Android license
A dramatic escalation in the US war on Chinese tech firms

Following the US crackdown on Chinese technology companies, Google has cut off Huawei's Android license, dealing a huge blow to the besieged phonemaker. Reuters first reported the news, and The Verge subsequently confirmed Google's suspension of business with Huawei with a source familiar with the matter.

Reached for comment, a Google spokesperson said only "We are complying with the order and reviewing the implications." The order, in this case, appears to be the US Commerce Department's recent decision to place Huawei on the "Entity List," which as Reuters reports is a list of companies that are unable to buy technology from US companies without government approval.

Comment: RT reports pressure on Huawei from another quarter with Intel and Qualcomm halting microchip supplies to Huawei:
Several major US corporations, such as Qualcomm and Intel, have reportedly joined Google in implementing President Donald Trump's executive order that declared Chinese tech giant Huawei a national security risk.

Following in the footsteps of Google, a number of top American chipmakers - including Intel, Qualcomm, Xilinx, and Broadcom - halted their business transactions with Huawei, according to Bloomberg, citing insiders. The companies are said to have told their employees that no new shipments will be made "until further notice."

Lumentum Holdings, which sells components to Huawei, also announced that it would stop selling to the Chinese firm. The company said Monday that it was lowering its quarterly outlook since sales to Huawei accounted for 18 percent of overall revenue in its most recent quarter.

In the meantime, Google has confirmed it was also "complying with the order and reviewing the implications" of the ban introduced by Trump under the pretext of national security. While Google has yet to make an official announcement, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is likely to lose access to Android operating system updates, while its forthcoming smartphones will be shut out of most Google apps and services.

Washington accuses Huawei of spying on behalf of the Chinese government, but the telecommunications giant consider the US officials' rhetoric to be a blatant example of unfair market competition.

Ukraine's new leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy moves quickly to dissolve parliament, forge new path for peace in Donbass and Russia

Volodymyr Zelenskiy
Emboldened by his stunning victory last month, Ukrainian TV star Volodymyr Zelenskiy moved swiftly Monday to dissolve the country's parliament, moments after he was sworn in as the country's new president.

Zelenskiy, who won 73% of the vote last month, justified his contentious decision to dissolve the parliament, which is controlled by allies of the man he defeated, Petro Poroshenko, on the grounds it has become a hotbed of self-enrichment.

A presidential decree formally disbanding the parliament is expected later Monday. If all goes to plan, the snap election will be held within two months after the decree is signed.

Elections to the Supreme Rada were scheduled for Oct. 27, which raised the prospect of Zelenskiy struggling to enact his agenda in the face of a hostile parliament over his first few months in power.

Zelenskiy, who played the Ukrainian president on a popular TV show for years, is gambling that his popularity will see the next parliament dominated by supporters of his agenda to reform Ukraine and steer a new path with Russia.

Comment: The question now is: can Zelenskiy actually do anything construcive with the far-right powers of Azov Battalion entrenched in the military - and with NATO powers itching to draw Russia into conflict using eastern Ukraine as a flashpoint.

Need we wonder? Neocons ADMIT they will lie us into war

AbramsPencePompeoBolton

Elliott Abrams • Mike Pence • Mike Pompeo • John Bolton
Now that mustachioed super villain John Bolton is in the driver's seat of America's foreign policy, an old video of the arch-neocon admitting he would lie to the public to achieve his goals is making the rounds once again.

Go ahead and watch it for yourself

Here's the money quote for those who missed it: "If I had to say something I knew was false to protect American national security, I would do it."

The example he gives to flesh out his point is relatively uncontroversial. "I don't think we're often faced with that difficulty, but would I lie about where the D-Day invasion was going to take place to deceive the Germans, you'd better believe it."

But is that where the principle of knowingly lying to the public in the name of "national security" begins and ends? Not revealing the dates and locations of planned military operations? Or do you think that someone like John Bolton and his neocon friends just might use this idea of lying to achieve his goals a bit more liberally?
