Canada's got a Nazi problem

Minister Freeland speak at the Vancouver Foreign Ministers’ Meeting regarding the Korean Peninsula
Vancouver, Canada held a significant event in the history of Canada on January 16th, 2018. Canada's traditional peace-keeping role in international relations relegated to the historical dustbin, Canada's Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland led the 'international community' in a song of war and genocide against North Korea. However, the plan was ultimately not about North Korea, as single-toned as the grouping Freeland gathered tried to make it seem. What was missing were the harmonies a well-trained ear can hear but isn't sung: Russia and China, noticeably missing from the conference despite making great advances in peace on the Korean Peninsula in the months leading up to the Vancouver gathering, were the missing notes.

For those listening, I ask you, the reader, what is behind the one-note song 'North Korea is an existential danger to humanity'? Banging away at your insides, like an annoying pop song that you just cannot get out of your head, you become conscious of what is really going on. For anyone with a 20-year memory, which sadly scarcely exists today in the anti-war movement, Freeland's war song is eerily reminiscent of Tony Blair banging on about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, whispering in the ear of Bush Jr., or Colin Powell's 'yellow cake' song and dance.

Freeland, at this years' war choral, was clearly playing the role of conductor. Her mannerisms at the head table with the other world leaders was uncomfortably out of tune, mostly because of her exaggerated gestures of friendship and geniality.

A few days after Freeland and Tillerson announced the meeting in December 2017 from Ottawa, Freeland headed off to her motherland, Ukraine.

Comment: Freeland is essentially Canada's own version of Nikki Haley (and is also an embarrassment along with Trudeau). Perhaps between the 2 of them Canada's well worn mask will finally slip away. They've kept the charade up for a long time, hiding in the background but when you dig a little deeper, Canada, the worlds 'peacekeepers' are anything but. See also:

George Soros backing secret plot to thwart Brexit

George Soros, Founder and Chairman of the Open Society Foundation, before the start of a meeting at EU headquarters in Brussels last year.
George Soros, the billionaire known as the man who "broke the Bank of England", is backing a campaign to overturn Brexit, the Telegraph can disclose.

The investor is one of three senior figures linked to the Remain-supporting campaign group Best for Britain who plan to launch a nationwide advertising campaign this month, which they hope will lead to a second referendum to keep Britain in the EU.

The campaign is trying to recruit major Tory donors in an attempt to undermine Theresa May.

It also plans to target MPs and convince them to vote against the final Brexit deal to trigger another referendum or general election, according to a strategy document leaked from a meeting of the group.

Comment: Whatever George Soros has his slimy tentacles in, you know that it is not in the best interests of humanity at large. His elitist, globalist agenda and covert manipulations do nothing but sow chaos worldwide. See:

'Nobody invited them there': Moscow slams 'illegal' US presence in Syria as Pentagon reserves right for 'defensive' attacks

Russia has reminded the US that its presence in Syria is illegal after the coalition struck pro-government militias. Washington however reserved the right for "defensive" attacks to achieve peace "from a position of strength."

The US presence in Syria is "actually illegal," the Russian Ambassador to the UN reminded his Western counterparts on Thursday at a closed-door meeting of the UN Security Council. "Nobody invited them there," Vasily Nebenzya stated, emphasizing that a hard fought for stability in Syria is being jeopardized by US actions.

On Wednesday, the US-led coalition said it carried out several "defensive" airstrikes on Syrian forces in Deir Ez-Zor province in retaliation for what they described as an "unprovoked" attack on the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and foreign military "advisers."

Professor Stephen F. Cohen: Putin has almost nothing in common with the Western media's presentation of him (VIDEO)

Putin
I have recently had the pleasure of watching a short presentation by Professor Stephen F. Cohen entitled "Rethinking Putin" which he delivered on the annual Nation cruise on December 2, 2017 (see here for the original Nation Article and original YouTube video). In his short presentation, Professor Cohen does a superb job explaining what Putin is *not* and that includes: (but, please do watch the original video before proceeding).

Comment: A most interesting talk by professor Cohen. Sadly, a very small part of the western public will watch it. Instead, they get blatant propaganda from the likes of Morgan Freeman and Luke Harding.

The US 'self-defense' attack on Syrian government forces looks like it was pre-arranged

Last night the illegal U.S. occupation force in north-east Syria attacked a group of Syrian government aligned troops and their Russian support. The incident happened north-east of Deir Ezzor city on the east side of the Euphrates. The U.S. claims that it killed some 100 Syrian soldiers that were allegedly attacking its proxy forces in an attempt to recover oil fields.

There is a factual separation of areas south-west of the Euphrates under Syrian government control and north-east of the Euphrates under U.S. occupation. But several locations around Manbij, Raqqa and Deir Ezzor contradict that and are under control of the respective other side. The U.S. claims that a "de-confliction line" along the Euphrates is agreed upon. The Syrian government says that no such agreement exists.

A small area across the Euphrates north-east of Deir Ezzor had been taken by Syrian government forces months ago. It is near some oilfields which the U.S. wants to keep away from the Syrian government.

"The U.S. wants to keep Syria weak and poor," says Prof. Joshua Landis. According to Landis the U.S. is keeping the north-east of Syria under occupation to deny Syria access to its oil and its best agricultural land. It wants to turn Syria into a swamp for Russia and Iran to the benefit of mostly Israel.

Comment: The American military hasn't gotten any less devious since Trump came into office.

World leaders denounce Trump's Nuclear Posture Review: Brings 'humankind closer to annihilation'

china trump
As the Chinese government on Sunday urged the U.S. government to drop its "Cold War mentality" and criticized the Trump administration's new nuclear weapons posture, released Friday, other world leaders also expressed alarm that the new policy for expanded development of "smaller" atomic weapons and reduced restrictions on their use was leading "humankind closer to annihilation."

Beijing expressed alarm over how the U.S. characterized the Chinese military buildup as it reminded the world that nuclear weapons should not be considered "first strike" weapons.

"China has always exercised the utmost restraint in the development of nuclear weapons and limited its nuclear capabilities to the minimum level required for national security," said Ren Guoqiang, a spokesperson of the Chinese defense ministry, in a statement.

"We hope the US side will discard its 'cold-war mentality,' shoulder its own special and primary responsibility for nuclear disarmament, understand correctly China's strategic intentions and take a fair view of China's national defense and military development," Guoqiang added.

FBI investigation report on Hillary Clinton released by Senate Homeland Security Committee

The Senate Homeland Security Committee released troves of documents Wednesday highlighting the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server.

The near-three year investigation was spearheaded by Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wisc., and the Republican majority, and specifically highlights text messages between top FBI counterintelligence official Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page.

The interim report released Wednesday - titled "The Clinton Email Scandal And The FBI's Investigation Of It" - claims the text messages "paint a picture of bias and animus, and certainly raise questions about possible corruption," Johnson said.

The oversight investigation will continue, the report claims.

The report notes the 400 pages of texts released by Johnson do not include those exchanged between Dec. 13, 2016 and May 17, 2017 - a crucial time during the Russia investigation. Those texts were originally thought to be lost because of a technical glitch, but the Justice Department said last month they had been recovered.

Comment: If any of the reclaimed text messages above are an indication of the accumulating and incriminating evidence against Clinton and members of the FBI, Trump may be right.

Congressional reality check from James Mattis over looming government shutdown

Mattis fears the US military will be financially underwater.
Defense Secretary James Mattis told the House Armed Services Committee that if Congress enters another shutdown, his testimony and the National Defense Strategy will be rendered useless.

Mattis explained that Congress "rightfully mandated" the National Defense Strategy but then entered a government shutdown, forcing the military to operate under a "disruptive continuing resolution."

"It is not lost on me that as I testify before you this morning, we are again on the verge of a government shutdown, or at best, another damaging continuing resolution," he said in his opening statement.

Comment: Perhaps shutting down military bases in other countries, limiting troop exposure to unnecessary wars and cutbacks in funding activities regarding geopolitical hegemony would be a good thing. There is something 'fund'a'mentally' wrong with continual increases in military reach and the monetary commitment and support it takes to not only enlarge, but subsequently support, the US global campaign for world dominance.

Syrian War Report: US airstrikes hit Syrian Army in Deir Ezzor - YPG takes out two Turkish tanks in Afrin - Russia scales up involvement in Idlib

On February 7, the US-led coalition carried out several airstrikes on positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the province of Deir Ezzor. The coalition claimed that the SAA had "initiated an unprovoked attack against well-established Syrian Democratic Forces [SDF] headquarters," added that "coalition service members" were co-located with SDF fighters during the attack, and described the strikes as "self-defense".

According to local sources, the US targeted positions of the SAA near the town of Khasham, located on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, where some clashes between the SAA and the SDF were also reported. Earlier, pro-opposition sources speculated that the SAA was preparing to use Khasham as a foothold to attack the SDF position in the areas of the CONICO gas facility and the Jafar oil field. However, these reports were not confirmed by any evidence.

No doubt the US-led coalition will use the incident to deepen the rift between the SAA and the Kurdish-dominated SDF. Earlier this month, Damascus allowed a large convoy of Kurdish fighters to reach the area of Afrin where Turkey is conducting a military operation against YPG/YPJ forces that are the core of the SDF. However, relations between the sides remained complicated.
