If you only read The New York Times or Washington Post, you have no idea the Soros leak happened

On June 4, 2016, the New York Times editorial board wrote an article titled "Big Money Rearranges Its Election Bets."

"Both parties are busy exploiting the power of barely regulated super PACs to accept unlimited six- and seven-figure donations for candidates," the editors wrote. "At the same time, campaigns are concealing the names of other rich donors in 'dark money' operations palmed off as tax exempt 'social welfare' agencies supposedly dedicated to doing good, not to bare knuckle politics."

But two-and-a-half months later, when the internal workings of a powerful political network palmed off as a tax-exempt "social welfare" agency supposedly dedicated to doing good were released to the public — unveiling the big money ties to many of the left's top social causes — the Times kept its readers in the dark.

Insane! Ex-CIA Director Morell still advocates for murder of Russians & Iranians

Former Deputy CIA Director Michael Morell
On Aug. 17, TV interviewer Charlie Rose gave former acting CIA Director Michael Morell a "mulligan" for an earlier wayward drive on Aug. 8 that sliced deep into the rough and even stirred up some nonviolent animals by advocating the murder of Russians and Iranians. But, alas, Morell duffed the second drive, too.

Morell did so despite Rose's efforts to tee up the questions as favorably as possible, trying to help Morell explain what he meant about "killing" Russians and Iranians in Syria and bombing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad into submission.

In the earlier interview, Morell said he wanted to "make the Iranians pay a price in Syria. ... make the Russians pay a price in Syria."

Rose: "We make them pay the price by killing Russians?"

Morell: "Yeah."

Rose: "And killing Iranians?"

Morell: "Yes ... You don't tell the world about it. ... But you make sure they know it in Moscow and Tehran."

"We're here to bring you freedom and democracy."

The U.S. government, having illegally sent American troops into Syria, is now threatening to attack the Syrian military if it endangers those troops, an Orwellian twist that marks a dangerous escalation, explains Daniel Lazare.

War, like politics, is filled with surprises. While the focus in Syria has been on a U.S.-backed rebel offensive in Aleppo that has succeeded in turning tables on Bashar al-Assad's government, a new and unexpected flashpoint has developed 200-plus miles to the east where U.S. jets are engaged in a dangerous showdown with Syrian warplanes near the city of Hasakah.

The trouble began on Wednesday when, according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Kurdish forces advanced on the pro-government National Defense Forces that controls portions of the city. When the NDF responded with arrests, the fighting took off.

This is not the first time that Kurdish and government forces have clashed in Hasakah, which is divided among Kurds, Arabs, Aramaic-speaking Assyrians, and a small number of Armenians. But what makes the latest confrontation so serious is that the U.S. quickly upped ante by scrambling two F-22 fighters to intercept a pair of Syrian Su-24s bombing Kurdish positions.

NBC News reported that the jets came within a mile of one another on Thursday and were in visual contact before the Syrian aircraft left the scene. U.S. jets chased away two more Su-24s the next day as well.

Member of EU Parliament: EU leaders supported Brexit because Britain was obstacle to creating EU army

Polish member of the European Parliament Janusz Korwin-Mikke said that Great Britain was an obstacle to greater unification of the EU and to the European army.

The United Kingdom plans to leave the European Union were supported by the EU leadership as the country presented a major hurdle on the way to creating a pan-European army, Polish member of the European Parliament Janusz Korwin-Mikke told Sputnik on Monday.

He was commenting on Sunday's statement by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, who said that the European Union needed its own armed forces to "fulfill" its mission in the world.

"My opinion [is that] Brexit was supported by Mr. Junker and leadership of the EU because Great Britain was an obstacle to greater unification of the EU and to the European army," the non-attached Polish lawmaker said.

In an interview with the BBC aired last month, Lawson said that the US' primary interest is to be able to exert its influence over the entire EU by having its closest ally, Britain, within the bloc. Lawson was demur on the subject, but in effect what he meant was that Britain is Washington's surrogate in relations towards the rest of Europe.

Thanks to Russia & Chinese support Syria will be the graveyard of US 'regime change'

iran russia china
Russian and Chinese support for secular Arab nationalism in the conflict in Syria opens up possibilities for the Arab World to move beyond the sectarianism and division of the post-Nasser era.

Of the two great Communist powers of the 20th century, China had always played a smaller, quieter, more subtle role in geo-politics vis-à-vis the USSR.

This phenomenon has largely continued in the 21st century with Vladimir Putin's Russian Federation expanding upon traditional alliances made during the Soviet years.

Yet China's global outlook cannot be overlooked and there are many signs that China is looking to play a more active role in global affairs alongside Russia and other members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

Turkey's PM ahead of Biden's visit: America's harboring of coup mastermind Gulen is 'destroying' ties

The statement comes only days ahead of an official visit by Vice President Joe Biden in a bid to normalize bilateral relations between the two countries and reach an agreement on the matter of Fethullah Gulen as Turkey appears to be edging away from NATO in the aftermath of the failed coup.

The US failure to extradite Fethullah Gulen, the alleged mastermind of the failed overthrow of the Erdogan government, is "destroying" Turkish-American relationships said Turkey's Prime Minister in another bout of incendiary rhetoric ahead of Vice President Joe Biden's official visit regarding the matter.

"Nothing is the same after July 15," said Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Saturday. "America knows this, and we know they know it" before describing relations between the two countries as "so-so."

Sweden has been shocked by revelations about their quietly dignified King

Five months ago, the Swedish royal family was the toast of Europe. All eyes were trained on Stockholm as the glamorous Crown Princess Victoria wed her long-time boyfriend in a fairy-tale ceremony, and the world's press clamoured for a glimpse of the elegant Swedish royals and their regal guests.

Now the international media is again camped outside the gates of Stockholm's Drottningholm Palace - but this time for far less congratulatory reason.

Revelations last week that the King of Sweden once enjoyed romps in seedy nightclubs owned by shadowy underworld figures have eclipsed the sparkle of July's wedding. King Carl XVI Gustaf, the stern-looking, bespectacled monarch who is honorary chairman of the World Scout Foundation, has found himself thrust uncomfortably in the spotlight following the publication of an unflinching book, Carl XVI Gustaf - Den motvillige monarken (Carl XVI Gustaf - The reluctant monarch) which catalogues his past predilection for wild, alcohol-fuelled orgies and naked jacuzzi parties with models.

Comment: And there you have it.

This is why the revelations of child sex abuse scandals at the highest levels, in all Western countries anyway, are met with - at best - indifference.

People need a god-like figurehead at the top. And their 'radiance' extends to most other 'nobles' around them. In the natural order, people would revere these 'gods' for their nobility. Today, they revere, for the most part, only the appearance of nobility, which is why psychopaths in power have been getting away with their crimes for so long.

Clinton's top campaign aide Huma Abedin worked at a radical Muslim journal for a dozen years

Huma Abedin, longtime aide to former US Secretary of State and Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton's top campaign aide, and the woman who might be the future White House chief of staff to the first female US president, for a decade edited a radical Muslim publication that opposed women's rights and blamed the US for 9/11.

One of Clinton's biggest accomplishments listed on her campaign web site is her support for the UN women's conference in Bejing in 1995, when she famously declared, "Women's rights are human rights." Her speech has emerged as a focal point of her campaign, featured prominently in last month's Morgan Freeman-narrated convention video introducing her as the Democratic nominee.

However, soon after that "historic and transformational" 1995 event, as Clinton recently described it, her top aide Huma Abedin published articles in a Saudi journal taking Clinton's feminist platform apart, piece by piece. At the time, Abedin was assistant editor of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs working under her mother, who remains editor-in-chief. She was also working in the White House as an intern for then-First Lady Clinton.

An anti-immigrant group staged a fake Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) attack in Prague's center that, unsurprisingly, ignited a chaotic panic among the crowd, resulting in "several tourists" being injured.

The group entered the Old Town Square equipped with an Islamic State flag, a military vehicle, army clothing, a camel, stick-on beards and fake guns which they fired in the air while shouting Allahu Akbar.

Turkey-backed militants set to race US-supported Kurds for ISIS-held Syrian town Jarablus

Free Syrian Army
Ankara-backed Islamist units have reportedly mobilized on the Turkish side of the Syrian border to launch an assault on Jarablus, aiming to prevent the US-backed Kurdish-dominant SDF from capturing the town from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists.

"The factions are gathering in an area near the border (inside Turkey)," one of the Free Syrian Army fighters told Reuters. Another rebel source confirmed a buildup of forces, loosely organized under the FSA umbrella, inside Turkey at a military camp near the town of Qarqamish just across the border with Jarablus.

"Every day there are groups of fighters entering from inside Syria across a secret crossing to a Turkish base where they are gathering in preparation of the assault on Jarablus," the source told the news agency.
