ISIS in Niger: Video shows desperate last stand of US soldiers killed in ambush

Dramatic footage shows a US soldier exchanging fire with extremists

Dramatic footage shows a US soldier exchanging fire with extremists
ISIS has released a horrific video appearing to show the final moments of four US soldiers who were ambushed in Niger.

The nine-minute video is shot from the helmet cams of the tragic Americans who died on October 4 in Tongo Tongo after being attacked by 50 brainwashed jihadis.

The disturbing clip, which ends before the soldiers are killed, shows the men using a vehicle and smoke flares as cover as they exchange fire with the extremists.

In October, it was reported that a group of Green Beret commandos were killed after being ambushed by terrorists in Niger.

Public prosecutor orders ex-Brazilian president Lula to begin 12-year sentence on corruption charges

Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (Right) is greeted by a member of the Rural Landless Movement.
Brazil's Fourth Regional Federal Court sentenced Lula to 12 years and one month in prison on corruption charges.

Brazil's 4th Region State Public Prosecutor has requested that former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio 'Lula' da Silva immediately start serving his 12-year and one-month sentence ordered by the Fourth Regional Federal Court, or TRF-4. The request has been made even though Lula's habeas corpus appeal hearing is scheduled for today.

Lula was initially sentenced to nine years and six months by judge Sergio Moro last year. In January, the conviction was not only upheld by the TRF-4, but more prison time was tacked on to the original sentence. His lawyers are appealing the decision on "technical grounds," arguing that his trial contained 38 omissions, 16 contradictions and five areas that were unclear.

Many legal observers, including his defense team, insist that the former head of state is the victim of a calculated lawfare campaign to prevent him from running in this year's presidential campaign. When the Public Prosecutor's Office initially charged Lula in 2016, prosecutor Henrique Pozzobon admitted that there was no "conclusive evidence" that Lula is the "owner" of the apartment complex in Guaruja.

The N.I.H. will create expert panels to assess controversial research into creating pathogens that easily infect humans.

Federal officials on Tuesday ended a moratorium imposed three years ago on funding research that alters germs to make them more lethal.

Such work can now proceed, said Dr. Francis S. Collins, the head of the National Institutes of Health, but only if a scientific panel decides that the benefits justify the risks.

Some scientists are eager to pursue these studies because they may show, for example, how a bird flu could mutate to more easily infect humans, or could yield clues to making a better vaccine.

Critics say these researchers risk creating a monster germ that could escape the lab and seed a pandemic.

Britain's red carpet for Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman is shameless

A poster of Saudi Arabia’s crown prince Mohammed bin Salman. ‘This is the man behind the rolling blockade of Yemen’s rebel-held ports, preventing the supply of essential food, medicine and fuel to Yemeni civilians.’

Concerns about arms sales are being put above the suffering of civilians in Yemen's civil war

They call diphtheria the "strangling disease". Parents have to watch helplessly as it slowly clogs the throat and chokes the life out of their children. Thankfully, vaccination has wiped it out in most parts of the world. But not in Yemen. Not this past year. Hundreds of children have been infected, and dozens have died that cruellest of deaths.

They join the hundreds of other Yemeni children who have died from the worst cholera outbreak in modern history, the thousands who have succumbed to malnutrition, and the untold number of civilians killed by airstrikes on homes, streets, weddings and funerals. This has been the human price of the three-year civil war in Yemen, in which all parties have shown a callous disregard for life, but where the large majority of civilian deaths lies irrefutably at the door of Saudi Arabia.

Yet today the architect of that Saudi intervention in Yemen - crown prince Mohammad bin Salman - will visit Britain, and will receive the red carpet treatment from the Tory government, as if he were Nelson Mandela. This is the man behind the rolling blockade of Yemen's rebel-held ports, preventing the supply of essential food, medicine and fuel to Yemeni civilians, and - on all the available evidence - breaching international law by using starvation as a weapon of war.

Comment: Shameful indeed, against both human rights and public opinion: Compare and contrast with the treatment the West reserves for Assad, who has done nothing wrong in trying to defend his people from the terrorists that people like Bin Salman fund.

As I figured would be the case, Putin's message to the West that Russia cannot be intimidated and that the nations must work together to deal with world problems was far over the heads of the dumbshit "exceptional" Americans. CNN rushed out an idiot named Samantha Vinograd who served as a staffer on Obama's National Security Council to declare that Putin's speech was only aimed at one person in the world - President Trump. [Link]

Putin, the idiot Samantha Vinograd says, is "poking at Trump's insecurities" with the threat that "my missiles are bigger than yours."

Italy's Matteo Silvini supports Trump and his policies - conservative, populist, anti-establishment and anti-immigration

Italy voters tack hard right, choosing Trump clone and his conservative, populist, anti-establishment, anti-immigration party
Ascending Italian national leader Matteo Salvini emulates President Trump and favors much the same agenda - Italy First, low taxes, strong immigration control. Salvini is also proposing mass deportation of Muslim migrants in the country illegally.

The surprising result of the national election is a strong warning to the EU, which is already in a state of turmoil over the Muslim migration/open borders issue and its many attendant problems such as no-go zones, rampant crime, and the tremendous strain on the social welfare systems of its member nations.

Sunday's parliamentary elections stunned the political establishment in Italy, sacking the country's ruling left-wing government in favor of more conservative and populist parties, according to NTK.

Pentagon admits it has 'lost control' of Kurdish proxy force in Northern Syria

Kurds SDF
The US has admitted being faced with large scale desertions of its SDF proxy force in north-eastern Syria and has had no choice but to admit to an "operational pause" in ground activities in regions east of the Euphrates. This is due to Kurdish fighters who had fought under the SDF flag, leaving their posts in US occupied territory to travel west to the Afrin region in order to fight with their brethren against Turkish forces conducting Operation Olive Branch against YPG/PKK targets. Far from being an altruistic force, the Kurdish militants simply think that at this point in time, they have more to strategically gain by playing Turkey against Syria in Afrin than by cooperating with the US in its "mission guard the oil fields" in eastern Syria.

In an ill conceived balancing act, the US has attempted to pass-off the SDF as a unique fighting force that is operationally and ideologically separate from the Kurdish PYG/PKK units in the region. In reality, the SDF was always a collection of YPG fighters with the addition of a handful of Takfiri fighters who in recent months have oddly been augmented by released Daesh prisoners whom the SDF is allegedly fighting. To this end, both Russia and Syria have accused the US and its proxies of failing to fight Daesh in any meaningful way, throughout their involvement in Syria.

Hypocrites: UK is world's largest legal cannabis producer UN reveals - Claims it has "no therapeutic value"

Cannabis
© Andres Stapff / Reuters
A drug reform group has slammed the government for claiming cannabis has no medical use while allowing its export abroad. It comes after the UN revealed the UK is the world's largest producer and exporter of medical cannabis.

The report from the UN's International Narcotics Control Board, which includes data from governments around the world, shows the UK produced 95 tons of legal cannabis in 2016. This accounted for 44.9 percent of the world total.

The nearest competitor is Canada, with 80.7 tons. Some 2.1 tons was exported from the UK, making it responsible for 67.7 percent of the world total, followed by the Netherlands (16.4 percent).

Comment: Just another day of corrupt business dealings for the UK; criminalising the use of a plant, presiding over a monopoly for its distribution, while some nefarious groups benefit from the profits made off of the black market:
Tory MP tasked with regulating drugs has husband that grows 45 acres of cannabis

Britain's Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Home Office Victoria Atkins.
A Tory MP and drugs minister has been accused of "deception" by a pro-legalization pressure group after it was found her husband has a 45-acre cannabis farm.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Vulnerability, Safeguarding and Countering Extremism, Victoria Atkins MP, has come under fire over the revelations about her husband.

Campaign group Clear has revealed how the drugs minister, who fights against calls for the legalization and decriminalization of substances, is married to the managing director of British Sugar, Paul Kenward. One of British Sugar's undertakings is growing cannabis seedlings for medicine.

Kenward's company is in partnership with GW Pharmaceuticals, a UK biotech firm, which is developing an experimental treatment called Epidiolex, in order to treat severe forms of childhood epilepsy. However, his wife is strictly against drug use and a process of legalization and regulation in the UK. At least, in Parliament she is.

Atkins previously rallied against drug consumption rooms (DCR) - or 'shooting rooms' - where addicts can safely abuse substances. In a drugs policy debate in summer 2017, she said: "We are talking about gun-toting criminals, who think nothing of shooting each other and the people who carry their drugs for them. What on Earth does my Honorable Friend think their reaction will be to the idea of drugs being regulated? Does he really think that these awful people are suddenly going to become law-abiding citizens? I do not share the optimism of others about tackling the problem through regulation."

This woman is out of touch with reality. Which is understandable considering how it would harm her husbands investments: Portugal's radical drugs policy is working. Why hasn't the rest of the world copied it?

Peter Reynolds, the author of the exposé and president of Clear, wrote on its website: "Aside from the usual, hysterical and evidence-free claims that so-called 'skunk' cannabis is causing an enormous increase in mental illness, which she trots out repeatedly, she rejects any idea of regulation in drugs policy as a means of reducing harm.

"However, in what must be the most blatant hypocrisy ever from a government minister, Ms Atkins benefits directly from regulation of drugs. With this latest scandal the shameful truth about UK drugs policy and the corrupt nature of this Conservative government is highlighted once again.

"It is difficult to believe this bare-faced dishonesty can prevail in a country that was once held up as an example of honour and decency but as with so much that Theresa May has been responsible for since she entered government in 2010, we are disgraced, shamed and the electorate is treated with absolute contempt."
