U.S. soldiers told to ignore Afghan commanders sexual abuse of young boys - report

Image

US troops stationed in Afghanistan came to the realization that some Afghan commanders were sexually abusing local boys and though they often heard the boys screaming, the US Army told them to ignore it, a New York Times report says.

"At night we can hear them [Afghan boys] screaming, but we're not allowed to do anything about it," Lance Corporal Gregory Buckley Jr. reportedly told his father Gregory Buckley Sr before being killed in 2012.

Buckley Sr said he told his son to tell his commanders about these incidents. "My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it's their culture," he told NYT.

What Buckley Jr described to his father resembles Bacha bazi, an illegal practice that involves sexual abuse of prepubescent and adolescent boys.

One more US officer, a former lance corporal recalled a terrible incident when he entered a room in a base and saw three or four men lying with children between them.

"I'm not a hundred percent sure what was happening under the sheet, but I have a pretty good idea of what was going on," he told NYT on condition of anonymity.

Another witness of similar practices was Dan Quinn, a former special forces captain. He witnessed several cases of Afghan militia abusing local children, boys and girls.

Jihadists murder 56 Syrian soldiers at captured air base by Al-Nursra Front and Turkistan Islamic Party

Image
Islamists fighters from the Al Qaeda-linked Al-Nusra Front have executed at least 56 Syrian government soldiers from the Abu al-Duhur airbase in the north-west of the country which was captured earlier this month, according to human rights activists.

The mass execution took place at the military airfield in Idlib province a "few days ago," according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), which managed to confirm the brutal massacre after jihadists dispersed photos of it online.

"We confirmed it yesterday in the evening, via people who witnessed it, and via some pictures that arrived - the execution happened," SOHR's director, Rami Abdulrahman, told Reuters.

The airbase fell to Islamist fighters earlier this month following a two-year siege. Abu al-Duhur military airport was the last major facility controlled by government forces in Idlib province.

The government troops were forced to withdraw from their positions after a furious attack by a coalition of Islamists groups which moved in to encircle the base under the cover of a sandstorm. The conditions meant that Syria's air force could not provide support.

Comment: Claims by the Syrian government that it is being assaulted by rebels who are armed, trained, and financed by foreign (Western) governments are proving accurate and obvious. When ISIS, or another knock-off version of al-Qaeda, executes Syrian soldiers, our horror, shock and blame must also include those countries that not only allow, encourage and endorse these actions, they supply, direct and finance them as well. Who really murdered these soldiers?

Westminster pedophile coverup: Detectives divided over credibility of inquiry's only witness

Police investigating the alleged abuse and murder of three children by a VIP pedophile ring in the heart of British government are split over the reliability of the inquiry's only witness.

Scotland Yard officers are divided as to the veracity of the claims made by "Nick," with some believing they are groundless.

Operation Midland has faced criticism for publicizing details of the investigation before it began, in contrast with similar inquiries that have been conducted under a news blackout.

The inquiry began in November last year, but has failed to find any evidence to corroborate Nick's allegations that senior government figures abused and murdered children in the '70s and '80s.

Nick claimed the crimes took place in a flat in Dolphin Square, London, and were perpetrated by a Westminster pedophile ring, which allegedly involved the late former Prime Minister Edward Heath, other politicians and senior army figures.

Following three interviews with Nick, detectives held a press conference in which they announced his allegations were "credible and true," a move which has since been criticized by a former senior detective.

Russian embassy in Damascus comes under mortar fire from 'anti-government militants'

A general view shows the city of Damascus.
Russia's embassy in the Syrian capital has been caught in mortar shelling carried out by rebel militant groups, although there have been no casualties, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement condemning the attack.

"A mortar projectile hit the territory of the Russian Embassy in Damascus at 09:00 AM (local time) on September 20. The shell embedded itself deeply into the ground, inflicting no damage," said the ministry's statement published on Monday.

The ministry put the blame for the incident on "the anti-government militants" that took position in the neighboring district. "They [the militants] are not affiliated with Islamic State [IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL], although they have foreign sponsors who bear responsibility for exerting influence on these illegal armed groups," the statement says.

The ministry strongly condemned the "criminal shelling" of the embassy and said it was waiting for "every member of the international community, including regional actors, to take a clear stance on this terrorist attack."

Not only words but also concrete actions are needed, the ministry added.

Comment: A warning shot perhaps?

Echoes of the Holocaust: Israeli leaders pleased with Europe's cruelty toward refugees

A scene from Budapest earlier this month; Hungary has responded in a brutal manner to refugees fleeing war.
As most of the world looks on in horror at Europe's atrocious response to refugees escaping war and persecution in the Middle East and Africa, some Israeli officials are quietly reveling in the chaos.

Dore Gold, director general of the Israeli foreign ministry, expressed optimism that the refugee influx will shift Europe to the right, making it more sympathetic to Israel's "security" justification for its ongoing colonization of Palestine.

"Israel always faced the problem in the past that its national security perspective was completely out of sync with how Europeans were viewing the emergence of the European community and the borderless world that was emerging," the American-born hardliner told The Jerusalem Post.

"In the European models that existed 25 or 30 years ago, it is kind of difficult to hear an Israeli argument. But now things may be beginning to change a little," posited Gold.

"The European perspective is beginning to sound a little bit more like Israel's perspective on security issues, compared to what it was in the past."

Comment: After the false-flag attacks of 9/11 struck the US, Benjamin Netanyahu came out and said, "This is good for Israel". It's as though any event or world development that construes Muslims as the problem, or supports the idea of the 'the Muslim Problem', is a 'good thing for Israel' simply because it will help rally people to Israel's side. Ironically, this is much the same as Jews were considered 'the Jewish Problem' in the 1930s.

Look at what happened to who considered them so. The same fate awaits those who have not learned from history.

Smear campaign: US media heralds visit of Pope Francis by suggesting that he is 'deeply anti-American'

Image

Hang on a second. Didn't the pope meet with Putin recently? He's being sent to the US as a Kremlin spy! Close the ports! Close the airports! Don't let him come here and taint our perfection!
While some Catholics have questioned Pope Francis's adherence to church doctrine, fresh criticism has been launched against the 78-year-old pontiff by conservatives who claim he is also anti-American.

The criticism and debate about Francis has intensified ahead of his visit to the United States next week. His decision to visit Cuba first was among the negatives expressed. Pope John Paul II, a fierce anti-communist, would be turning in his grave, said one commentator.

Yahoo News noted that from Wall Street to the Tea Party, critics have slammed Argentine Francis as as a poorly camouflaged Marxist and the debate is intensifying prior to his visit.

The pope's attacks on those who worship the "God of money" and his criticisms of an unjust global economic system have caused his critics to claim he is a "camouflaged Marxist," the AFP reports.

Comment: What's wrong with being a camouflaged Marxist? Wasn't Jesus?

Vatican expert Andrea Tornielli says he doesn't believe the pope is anti-American.

Comment: Ouch, you know the writing's on the wall for the US criminal elite when they're whipping up phony terror plots and smear campaigns against the pope.

Pope Francis is obviously not "anti-American", but he is apparently 'anti-predatory capitalism', 'anti-greed', and 'anti-narcissistic infatuation with materiality', as any sane, healthy person should be.

That's why the US criminal elite hate him, and want ordinary Americans to hate him too.

Who wants a third world war? Pope Francis warning as he and Chinese leader Xi land in US

Xi and Obama

US President Barack Obama (C) reviews an honour guard with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on November 12, 2014.
Chinese President Xi Jinping surfs the USA in his first state visit almost simultaneously as Pope Francis. It will be fascinating to observe how the hyperpower's decision centers will react to this double exposure to dialectical materialism — with Chinese characteristics — and the in thesis "under reconstruction" Catholic Church.

In a historic speech in Havana, Pope Francis — who broke the get-together between US President Barack Obama and Raul Castro — insisted he wants to deepen the relationship between Washington and Havana. He asked for Obama and Raul to give it all they've got as an example to the world, "a world that needs reconciliation amidst this Third World War."

"Third World War" was never part of the original redaction of the Pope's speech. Francis added it on his flight from Rome to Havana.

A pre-Socratic cynic would volunteer that Francis may now be in synch with Apocalypse Now Pentagon factions — for whom the Third World War is already on, and the crucial threats are Russia and China, with ISIS/ISIL/Daesh as a distant third.

Human Rights Watch accuses Macedonia of brutal and inhuman asylum seeker treatment

Image
© Ognen Teofilovski / Reuters
Macedonian border police and detention center guards stand accused of inhuman treatment of asylum seekers. Victims recounted verbal and physical abuse, while enduring substandard living conditions, according to a Human Rights Watch report.

The 59-page document, issued Monday, is compiled from interviews with 64 victims and witnesses. The abuses have for the most part occurred at Reception Center for Foreigners, a detention facility in Skopje known as Gazi Baba, in the June 2014-July 2015 period.

Unlawful arbitrary detention was part of the testimonies, which also included claims of beatings with batons, as well as being kicked, punched and verbally abused. In extreme cases, a refugee would be reportedly forced to run the gauntlet between Macedonian officers, who would take turns to hit the person as they ran past.

Comment: Sadly for the asylum seekers and refugees of the Middle East and Africa, the 'Empire of Chaos' not only shows no signs of pulling back on its covert aggression throughout the world but, if anything, would seek to destabilize 'countries of interest' even further. If that isn't bad enough, the countries of Europe and Asia are mostly ill-prepared and disinclined to either assist these desperate people in a humane way, or do much that would prevent these situations from occurring to begin with, ie. utterly reject US/NATO acts aggression. Though we see some movement and suggestion towards the latter solution, it should come to no surprise to anyone if countries moving in the direction of assisting Russia in removing ISIS in Syria (for instance) get blocked by more US bullying, threats and manipulation.

This horrific state of affairs is a living nightmare for those millions of innocent individuals and families who are caught up in it. And they have no one but the psychopaths in Washington and their bought-and-paid-for lackeys around the world to thank for it.

Putin assures Netanyahu: Syrian army too busy saving country to threaten Israel

Russian President Vladimir Putin (R) and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a meeting at the Novo-Ogaryovo residence.
Israeli concerns that Syria would provide advanced weapons to the Lebanese militant movement Hezbollah are exaggerated, considering that the country is fighting for survival, the Russian president told the visiting Israeli prime minister.

Benjamin Netanyahu is in Moscow on Monday to discuss the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East and clarify Russia's position.
"Israel and Russia have common goals - to ensure stability in the Middle East," Netanyahu said. "Iran and Syria are arming the radical Islamist terrorist group [Hezbollah] with advanced weapons, which they use to target our country."
The PM alleged that Damascus and Tehran are working to "create a second terrorist front in the Golan Heights."

Japan adopts new secrecy law as they urge citizens to move back to Fukushima

Commenting on the aftermath of Fukushima disaster, US climate journalist Robert Hunziker suggests that the Japanese government has something to hide; "it must be really big," the journalist notes, referring to the hard-hitting new secrecy law Tokyo has adopted.

There is something sinister about the Japanese government's optimistic claims that the notorious Fukushima Prefecture is largely safe for habitation, Los-Angeles based climate journalist Robert Hunziker notes, warning that scientific data published by third-party NGOs shows otherwise.

"The immediate direct exposure of radiation over population centers at Chernobyl was significantly more than Fukushima, where 80% drifted out into the Pacific Ocean. However, that may be slight solace because, horrifyingly, nobody knows where the Fukushima melted cores are located; it's absolutely true, nobody knows whether the molten cores are within the containment vessels, outside of the vessels, deep in the ground, or cataclysmically traversing towards the water table," Hunziker elaborated in his article for CounterPunch.

Comment: The adoption of this secrecy law could certainly have a lot to do with Fukushima, as well as the revamped (and US-inspired) Japanese militarism:
