Russian anti-drug chief: ISIS using Turkey to transport heroin to Europe

One of the biggest money-spinners for Islamic State terrorists is transporting illegal drugs from Afghanistan to Europe through Turkey and the Balkans, according to the head of Russia's federal anti-drug agency FKSN.

"ISIS fighters are controlling certain territory," Viktor Ivanov was quoted as saying by TASS. "Now it is targeted by the Russian Air Force, but until recently the terrorists enjoyed great freedom there. Trafficking illegal drugs was one of the major sources of their income."

Ivanov added that so far the heroin transported to the European Union via Turkey and the Balkans yields Islamic State (IS, previously ISIS/ISIL) about $150 billion for distribution to members of the criminal chain. "This money is getting into the criminal turnover and destabilizes the situation in the transit countries. Turkey is exactly such a country," Ivanov told reporters.

In July, Russia's top drug enforcer spoke at an international anti-trafficking conference in Gambia and said that the $500 billion annual income from illegal drug trade was the financial and organizational basis for new terrorist organizations, such as Boko Haram, Islamic State and others. "Illegal drugs are a kind of gold and foreign currency reserves for quasi-state groups," he said.

In March, Ivanov said in a press interview that IS made up to $1 billion annually from Afghan heroin trafficked through its territory. He predicted another record-high poppy harvest in the terrorist-controlled lands, and urged countries to raise the issue of fighting the IS drugs trade at the highest international level, including at the UN, saying it represents a global security threat.

Comment: This should be no surprise since the global illegal drug trade is controlled by the CIA, which in turn also has funded and armed its terrorist creation, ISIS. It's not just oil that gives ISIS the means to commit acts of terrorism, but also trafficking in the drug trade, something that the CIA is well-versed in so it was no problem for them to show ISIS how it's done.

Russian EU representative blasts EU sanctions against Russia as not only illegal, but violating basic human rights

The sanctions introduced by the European Union against Russia not only contradict existing international law, but also violate basic human rights, Russia's permanent representative with the UN has said.

"The EU is committing a direct violation of human rights by its actions against Russia. The unilateral sanctions introduced against us are not only illegitimate according to international law, they also undermine Russian citizens' freedom of travel, freedom of development, freedom of work and others," Aleksey Borodavkin told an international conference dedicated to Russia-Europe relations.

The diplomat also called upon European nations to admit that over the past 25 years Russia has made great strides in the promotion and protection of human rights. He also advocated honest and equal dialogue between Russian and Europe on this issue.

"It has taken Europe itself centuries to reach a similar result. And now we cannot help but notice that European HR values started collapsing as soon as Europe faced the challenges of terrorism and mass illegal immigration," Borodavkin said.

Putin signs law to raise minimum wage 4%

putin
The President of Russia has signed a governmental law to increase, from 1 January 2016, the minimum wage by 4%, according to the official portal of legal information.

Starting next year, the minimum wage will be 6,204 thousand rubles a month, the current minimum wage being 5,965 rubles.

Raising the minimum wage will affect about 700 thousand employees, 43% of them work in state and municipal institutions, 57% of workers of the economy sector.

The minimum wage is estimated at 53.6% of the predicted value of the subsistence minimum of able-bodied citizens.

Comment: In the US there is endless debate, squabbling, and fighting over raising the minimum wage of workers to a level where the people can provide food, shelter, and clothing for themselves and their family. This seeming constant back-and-forth ensures nothing is ever done, to the detriment of the people. As you can see, in Russia it's much simpler when you have a unified government and population that overwhelmingly supports its leader. The people benefit from this arrangement, and Putin somehow looks even more competent than the stumble-bums in office in the US.

Washington has a plan in the likely case that Ukraine collapses

poroshenko
The president of the Center for System Analysis and Forecasting, Rostislav Ischenko, explains why it better suits the world power-centers to keep Ukraine in its present state, in which the power is of the regional elites, and what sort of plan Washington has in case of the collapse of Ukraine.

In politics you can never talk about any outcome; it can not leave off on December 31 and re-start on January 1st. Those processes, which began earlier, will go on in 2016. If we talk about the stability of the Ukrainian state, it is no longer sustainable and no longer a state, but keeps on being a state only to the extent that it is recognized by international players. For Brussels and Paris, and Berlin, it is unprofitable to preserve Ukrainian statehood, but to admit its dissolution/destruction is an even more losing option.

Once we admit its destruction, the question immediately arises, what to do next. Necessarily, create something new to replace it, but that would need a clear understanding of how to create, what to create, and what orientation the new formation would have. But the world's major players have completely different views on the subject.

If the US, the EU and the IMF have not found 3 billion to pay for Russian debts, they simply won't find the tens and hundreds of billions over 5-10 years for a new project.

Russian EU envoy: Critical mass against anti-Russian sanctions being formed in EU

The "critical mass" of those who are discontent with sanctions against Russia is being formed in the EU, Russia's envoy to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said in an interview with Rossiya-1 TV channel on Monday.

"The critical mass is about to emerge. At a certain moment it will emerge and the relevant decisions will be taken — we won't speculate," he said speaking about the change in the attitude towards the anti-Russian sanctions.

According to him, Italy's demarche last week did not mean that the sanctions should be lifted immediately but were aimed at launching a discussion within the EU on the political level.

"The attempt to prolong sanctions on the sly did not work," the diplomat concluded.

In early December, Italy, Luxembourg and several other countries of the EU spoke against the automatic prolongation of sanctions against Russia. They urged consideration of this move on the level EU Foreign Ministers and heads of the states.

Comment: With Russia's ascension on the global political scene, it looks like more EU states are willing to speak up about how they really feel about the sanctions against Russia, especially since the EU has been hit as hard, or worse, than Russia has by the sanctions fiasco.

US pilots in Syria leak info - ordered to 'ignore' ISIS oil smuggling convoys

US isis oil convoys

The U.S. is also using flying dinosaurs to 'target' ISIS
According to reports, U.S. pilots in Syria have 'flown over oil tanker convoys 4 lanes wide at times and been told to stay silent'

American officials and responsible western news pundits have had a hard time explaining why the U.S.-led "anti-ISIS" coalition, after more than one year, has been unable to stop ISIS' lucrative oil smuggling operation. Maybe because they were never trying to stop it in the first place? Via New Eastern Outlook:
isis oil smuggling convoys
Reports from pilots and sources up and down the Pentagon chain of command tell an interesting story. Considering America's years of experience at "precision bombing" and the vast intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities of the world's largest military, America's utter failure in curtailing ISIS and her dozens of "sister organizations" has been inexplicable.

American pilots flying over Iraq and Syria have quietly leaked their story for over a year now but no news agency will carry it. They say they have flown over oil tanker convoys 4 lanes wide at times and been told to stay silent.

They report mysterious aircraft dropping supplies to ISIS and al Nusra, they are silenced on that as well.
Hardly surprising. Add in the fact that the Pentagon consistently airdrops ISIS weapons and equipment "by accident", and one begins to question how serious this "anti-ISIS coalition" really is.

If U.S. planes actually targeted ISIS oil convoys, they'd probably get shot down by Turkey.

A new war is breaking out in Ukraine, and it has been triggered off by no other than the vice president of the United States. During his visit to Kiev last weekend, Joe Biden publicly warned President Poroshenko that "the country is on the cusp" of being completely ruined by rampant corruption.

Ukrainian media reports Joe Biden, US Vice President, demanded action, among other things, the removal of certain Ukrainian officials in the Ministry of Defense and the Prosecutor General's Office.

Russia rejects US attempts to present Lavrov-Kerry meeting in context of isolating Russia

The Russian Foreign Ministry considers unacceptable attempts to present the contacts between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry who are holding talks in Moscow on Tuesday in the context of Russia's containment, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Tuesday.

"We are aggrieved by and fully reject US attempts to present such contacts in the context of the policy to contain and 'isolate' Russia. This is a deliberate distortion of the real state of affairs, such statements are made in the interests of the anti-Russian part of the international community," Ryabkov said.

"Issues of strengthening strategic stability will be discussed. There are problems here considering the course of the current administration on deploying infrastructure near Russian borders together with NATO allies. All this will be on the agenda of talks," Ryabkov said.

The talks between Russian Foreign Minister and US State Secretary John Kerry have started in Moscow. This is the 20th meeting between the diplomats this year.

Lavrov and Kerry will discuss the situation in Syria in the context of joint work in the International Syria Support Group, developments in Ukraine and bilateral relations.

After the talks, Lavrov and Kerry will have a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

US has no plans to present Daesh oil trade data to UN

The United States does not have any plans to present Treasury Department's information to the UN Security Council related to the Islamic State (ISIL, or Daesh) oil trade in Turkey, US State Department spokesperson John Kirby told reporters.

"I know of no such plans," Kirby stated on Monday when asked if the United States would present data on Daesh shipments of oil flowing into Turkey to the UN Security Council.

On Friday, US Acting Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Adam Szubin called on Turkey to help stem the flow of financial assets across its porous borders, including Daesh black market oil.

Kirby argued that because some of the oil crosses the border into Turkey does not mean that Ankara is complicit in Daesh oil trade.

Earlier on Monday, Russia's UN envoy Vitaly Churkin told RIA Novosti that the United States and Turkey should have notified the UN Security Council about Daesh smuggling oil over the Turkish border as stipulated in a UN resolution passed in February.

Comment: They have no plans because they have been coordinating the whole operation of oil trade between ISIS and Turkey. Why would they turn themselves in when they can just avoid producing the data and thumb their noses at the rest of the world?

Euronews uses footage of Russian airstrikes, presents it as footage of the US' air campaign

Western Media often rebrand the footage of Russian airstrikes in Syria as the US-led coalition's actions - due to the lack of cooperation, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Due to poor US-led Coalition intelligence, the Western media is unwilling to credit Russia's Aerospace Forces for its successful strikes against Daesh terrorist targets, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"I have to stress that no-one has ever heard of the reporters' press-tours to the anti-Daesh coalition's bases. As a result, it confuses even the most reliable sources like TV channels and newspapers — and they unintentionally brand our [Russian] airstrikes as those of the US-led coalition," Konshenkov explained.

Comment: The US-led coalition has to pretend they're doing something credible in Syria. They wouldn't want the citizenry thinking they're just over there training head choppers and blowing up hospitals. Also see:
