'Natural born president': Clinton the obvious pick of US corporate elite

She's beyond hopeful, take heed!
American writer and activist Mickey Z. says it seems more obvious each day that the US corporate elite have chosen former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as their next figurehead. The author of Occupy This Book and Occupy These Photos made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Friday while commenting on a 2012 Clinton email which revealed that US multibillionaire George Soros regretted supporting Barack Obama over the former First Lady in the 2008 Democratic primary. The email was among more than 3,000 emails released by the US State Department on Thursday afternoon from Clinton's time as secretary of state.

"While mainstream observers wonder how the unexpected presence of Donald Trump will impact the race, George Soros' support for Hillary Clinton gives us a strong clue," said Mickey Z. "As we head into 2016 and will finally see actual presidential primaries soon, it seems more obvious each day that America's financial and corporate elites have chosen the former First Lady as their next figurehead," he noted.

"The top 1 percent want a political CEO with a steady hand and a proven record of support for Wall Street. With Trump virtually sabotaging Jeb Bush's campaign and Bernie Sanders busy playing the role of 'man of the people,' their choice seems clear: Hillary Clinton," the analyst pointed out.

Comment: The presidential race frenzy, every four years, is experienced by Americans as a bonafide reassurance that their democracy is alive and well. This couldn't be further from the truth. It is at best a grand dog-and-pony show by real owners of the USA to place their favorite "figurehead" (mouthpiece) in the White House. The three essential stipulations the corporate elite must consider: corruptibility, leverage, and psychopathy. These qualify Clinton as a 'natural born president'.

Gridlock: US has yet to break free of 'Afghan trap'

In an interview with Sputnik, political analyst Nikolai Shlyamin said that Washington had fallen into a trap in Afghanistan and that the most protracted war in the US armed forces' history has yet to be finished despite the withdrawal of the US-led coalition forces from Afghanistan a year ago.
"Washington is still in a trap in Afghanistan. Absolutely not taking into account the local national environment and ethnic issues, the United States tried to resolve the Afghan problem by classic military methods."
He added that in the past decade, the problem reached a gridlock and the war lost any meaning, something that he said added significantly to the Taliban's revival.

Comment: Or maybe the US has been successful in keeping the country in chaos as planned:

Last week, lawmakers adopted China's first-ever dedicated anti-terrorism law. The new law's most interesting provision, as far as foreign observers are concerned, is an article authorizing the Chinese military to take part in counter-terrorism missions abroad. Will China now join the Syrian, Russian and Iranian-led anti-terror campaign in Syria?

On Thursday, commenting on China's new counterterrorism law, and specifically its provision allowing the People's Liberation Army to participate in anti-terrorism operations overseas, Defense Ministry spokesman Yang Yujin emphasized that China has a "proactive" attitude when it comes to international cooperation against terrorism.

Speaking at a regular monthly briefing for reporters, cited by Reuters, Yang explained that in the event that Chinese forces were ever deployed abroad for the purposes of fighting terrorism, it would be in full respect of international norms, including countries' sovereignty.

Comment: Even though an outright alliance with the Russian coalition in Syria may be impractical, this is still a very interesting development. Also see: Creativity vs Entropy: China the new 'center of civilization'?

Turkey's policy against Russia is very risky and could lead to three territorial disputes between the two; however Ankara's expansionistic interests echo those of the West, according to Manuel Ochsenreiter, editor-in-chief of the German news magazine Zuerst!

Turkey's aggressive policy against Russia might result in three territorial disputes between the two, Ochsenreiter said in an interview with the Iranian news channel PressTV.

The first conflict centers around Crimea, he explained, as Ankara officially supports Ukraine's stance on the peninsula's reunification with Russia.

Comment: Turkey is acting just like Washington's mad dog.

Washington Is opposed to the establishment of Europe's own military forces

Sergei Lavrov
The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an exclusive interview to the TV channel "Star" said that Russia has no plans to send troops to the territory of countries who are members of NATO.
"I'm sure everyone understands that no tanks or Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will enter the territory of NATO members, none of this is even being considered", - said Lavrov.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the attitude to Russia towards the Baltic States and Eastern Europe. According to him, the United States claimed that the Baltic and Eastern European countries will calm down only when they join the Alliance. However, Lavrov said, that did not happen.

Facepalm: Turkish President Erdogan cites Hitler's Germany as example of effective presidential system

Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reiterated his desire to ensure Turkey adopts a presidential system of government and has even cited Adolf Hitler's Germany as an example of how this can be achieved.

Speaking at a news conference, Erdogan was asked by a journalist whether Turkey would be able to keep a unitary structure of government if a presidential system was implemented.

"There are already examples in the world. You can see it when you look at Hitler's Germany," he said, according to a recording broadcast by the Dogan news agency. "There are later examples in various other countries."

The White House notified Congress on Wednesday that the following day the Treasury Department would implement new sanctions on Iran for its recent missile tests. However, when it came time, the Obama administration reportedly delayed without offering a reason.

The heads-up to Congress specified Thursday at 10:30am as the time the new sanctions were to come into effect. The new penalties were to be imposed on just under a dozen companies and individuals from Iran, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates that the US believes have been involved in Iran's ballistic missile tests, which took place earlier this month.
