Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has blamed the US for being behind the attempted coup that failed, and has urged his country's military to be ready to defend against a military intervention by the Americans.

Venezuelan troops should "be ready to defend the country with weapons in hand if one day the North American empire dares to touch this land, this sacred ground," Maduro said, addressing thousands of young cadets at a training range in the state of Cojedes.

"We are not a weak or helpless country. We are a country with a powerful Bolivarian National Armed Force that should be more united and loyal than ever."

James Woods, one of the few conservative stars in Hollywood, has been locked out of his Twitter account for over a week now for "abusive behavior," once again demonstrating the double standard the tech giant holds when it comes to enforcing rules.

Twitter suspended Woods for a tweet that read, "'If you try to kill the King, you best not miss' #HangThemAll," according to his girlfriend Sara Miller.

MindMatters: What Is A Pathocracy?

pathocracy
© SOTT.net
Most people have a very common sense understanding of politics and various forms of government. Aristotle divided governments into three distinct forms: the monarchy, the aristocracy, and the polity (similar to modern notions of the republic), and revealed what they looked like when they were corrupted: the tyranny, the oligarchy (or in more modern terms, the technocracy), and democracy, respectively.

However, over the course of the early 20th century there appeared qualitatively different forms of government - forms which defy every sense of humanity and, when using the language offered by political philosophy and political science, cannot be adequately understood. We're speaking now, of course, of the Nazi Reich and the Soviet Union, although other forms, such as the Islamic State, would seem to fit these criteria as well.

For that reason today we begin an examination of Chapter 5 of Andrew Lobaczewski's seminal work, Political Ponerology, in which he sketches an outline for understanding a completely different form of government - a pathocracy. A pathocracy is the result of a society's complete moral, religious, and cultural collapse and its subsequent brutal indoctrination by agents that have very specific forms of pathological personality disorder. In this episode we discuss under what conditions they arise, the stages in their development, and what can be done to protect ourselves and our societies from their depredation.

'Anything is possible': Trump talks North Korea peace after call with Putin

President Trump took to Twitter to declare his support for peace on the Korean Peninsula, after discussing the issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin. North Korea, meanwhile, test-fired short-range missiles.

"Anything in this very interesting world is possible," Trump tweeted on Saturday. "But I believe that Kim Jong Un fully realizes the great economic potential of North Korea, & will do nothing to interfere or end it. He also knows that I am with him & does not want to break his promise to me. Deal will happen!"

Trump's tweet came after he spoke with Putin by phone on Friday. The two leaders discussed a range of geopolitical issues, including nuclear arms control and the Korean peace process.

The president touted the success of the call on Saturday, heralding the "tremendous potential for a good/great relationship with Russia, despite what you read and see in the Fake News Media." After the phone call, certain media outlets chided Trump for not pressing Putin on supposed Russian election meddling.

Political analyst Colin Cavell: Trump's backing of Saudi war in Yemen is 'business decision'

President Donald Trump's veto of a resolution aimed at ending US support for Saudi Arabia's brutal war in Yemen means that, in Washington, business interests outweigh humanitarian concerns, political analyst Colin Cavell told RT.

The US president has "no compunction" about the thousands of civilians who were killed in the brutal war since 2015, said Cavell, adding that Trump's cooperation with Saudi Arabia is solely a "business decision."

"He [Trump] sees it strictly as a transactional relationship to keep US capitalism going, to fuel US industry. He has no human rights concerns."

Trump himself has practically admitted as much. Last October, the US president said that canceling an ongoing US' $110 billion arms deal with the Kingdom would be "foolish," even as allied nations scrapped their weapons deals with Riyadh in the wake of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Desperate House Dems ask DC, Virginia bar associations to investigate Barr

Attorney general William Barr
Two House Democrats have sent a letter to bar associations in Washington, D.C., and Virginia asking them to open an ethics investigation into Attorney General William Barr.

Democratic Reps. Ted Lieu (Calif.) and Kathleen Rice (N.Y.) wrote to the associations on Thursday, a day after Barr's contentious hearing on Capitol Hill during which he defended his handling of special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

"By deceiving Congress and the American people, who vested their trust in both the Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Justice at large, Attorney General Barr must be subject to a professional review for the sake of the legal profession and the public," the lawmakers wrote.

Lieu and Rice, who are both former prosecutors, invoked rules that prohibit obstruction of another party's access to evidence, making a false statement to a tribunal and engaging in dishonesty or misrepresentation that reflect adversely on a lawyer's fitness to practice law.

EPA 'in bed' with Monsanto? Regulator ignores risks, affirms 'safety' of Roundup and Dow pesticide

The US Environmental Protection Agency has insisted Monsanto's controversial glyphosate weedkiller Roundup is safe, despite court verdicts ruling it a carcinogen and studies backing them up. Is Monsanto pulling its strings?

"The EPA has been subject to regulatory capture. The relationship between the regulator - the EPA - and the regulated - Monsanto - is too close," attorney Michael Baum told RT. Referring to the "Monsanto papers," documents released in the court cases against the company, Baum didn't mince words: "The documents show that the EPA is protecting Monsanto, not protecting the public."

US is going to 'trade a lot' with Russia, Trump says, after 'long and very good' phone call with Putin

Donald Trump said that he shares Vladimir Putin's desire to improve trade ties between Russia and the US as he commented on the lengthy phone conversation with his Russian counterpart on Friday.

"We intend to do a lot of trade with Russia," Trump told reporters at the White House. "We do some right now. It's up a little bit. But [Putin would] like to do trade and we'd like to do trade."

Trade turnover between Russia and the US amounted to around $25 billion last year, a 7.86% increase compared to 2017, according to Russia's customs services.

Alleged US government doc from February 2018 details planned coup in Venezuela

Kurt W. Tidd
A detailed plan from "UNITED STATES SOUTHERN COMMAND" dated "23 FEBRUARY 2018" was issued with the title "PLAN TO OVERTHROW THE VENEZUELAN DICTATORSHIP 'MASTERSTROKE'" and is here presented complete.

This document was personally signed by Admiral Kurt W. Tidd, who was the Commander (the chief), at SOUTHCOM, and he was thus the top U.S. military official handling Venezuela. But this was far more than just a military plan. It was comprehensive - directing military, diplomatic, and propaganda, policies - regarding the Trump Administration's planned "Overthrow" of Venezuela's Government. His plan has since guided the Administration's entire operation, including "the capacities of the psychological war," regarding Venezuela.

Comment: As far as we can tell, this document has not been verified, so it's possible it's a "Protocols of Zion"-esque forgery. But even if that's the case, it seems remarkably accurate. See also:

Pentagon quietly stopped training Afghan pilots after 40% of cadets deserted while in US

AC-208s are frequently flown by Afghan Air Force
The Pentagon had no choice but to shut down a US-based program to train Afghan Air Force pilots after it emerged that nearly half of the cadets seized the opportunity and went absent without leave.

More than 40 percent of the Afghan cadets sent to train on the AC-208 light reconnaissance aircraft deserted the training program, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) reported. The watchdog did not detail exactly how many trainees went missing, but said it resulted in only one graduating class.

Consequently, the entire program was disbanded, with the second and third classes sent back to Afghanistan - possibly to prevent further desertions. The Afghan Air Force (AAF) has five AC-208s in their inventory.

Comment: So these defectors are on the loose in the US but we have no idea where they are or what they're up to now:
