'Conspiracy of old elites and oligarchs': Zelensky accuses Constitutional Court of protecting country's 'untouchables'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has taken aim at the country's establishment, calling Constitutional Court decisions against anti-corruption legislation a "conspiracy of old elites" to help the nation's "untouchable caste."

On October 27, Ukraine's Constitutional Court struck down a law that would punish government officials for inaccurately declaring personal assets, meaning that civil servants can no longer be criminally prosecuted for lying about their income. Zelensky believes that the judges were acting in their own private interests. Zelensky wrote on his Facebook page:
"I know for sure that the demarche of the Constitutional Court is a public manifestation of a conspiracy of some of the old elites and oligarchs, against the president and the country. Because a weak president and a weak state are the keys to preserving their corrupt lifestyle."
According to Zelensky, the court's judges, who were appointed "by the old system," are seeking to preserve the elites who "don't want to pay any bills" and "don't want to be responsible for their years of uncontrolled lifestyles."

A waiter looks out from a restaurant while a food delivery courier passes by on a bicycle, as the spread of the novel coronavirus continues, in Stockholm, Sweden April 17, 2020.
Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven has warned that the country may see more deaths from Covid-19, as he imposed stricter guidelines on visits to dining venues.

Only groups of no more than eight people will be allowed to sit at the same table in restaurants across the country, Lofven announced on Tuesday.

Tougher restrictions will also be introduced in three additional regions: Halland, Orebro, and Jonkoping. This means the number of regions living under some type of local restrictions will rise to eight out of 21. The exact measures will be determined by regional authorities with the Public Health Agency of Sweden.

Lofven called the situation "very serious" and "dangerous," noting how the nation's death toll from Covid-19 was steadily approaching 6,000 people.

UK's Home Sec orders police to stop protests involving more than TWO people 'during lockdown'

However, it is believed that some senior officers are worried that the move is too oppressive for a liberal society. Pictured: An anti-lockdown protest in London
Protests of more than two people will be banned during the month-long lockdown set to start on Thursday, according to Whitehall sources.

Ministers have said the rules need to be clear and Home Secretary Priti Patel is said to have briefed chief constables over the weekend to tell officers to enforce the rules.

However, it is believed that some senior officers are worried that the move is too oppressive for a liberal society.

And one barrister is concerned the move could breach human rights.

Comment: As with the other new powers the government have granted themselves, unless there is significant pushback, it's unlikely these new 'rules' - because they're not lawful - will not be repealed anytime soon.

With the above in mind, former senior judge, Lord Sumption, gave an overview of the criminality of the government in the following talk:

Elite-defined class consciousness in the age of COVID

neoliberalism
Prior to the appearance of COVID-related restrictions and lockdowns, neoliberal capitalism had turned to various mechanisms in the face of economic stagnation and massive inequalities: the raiding of public budgets, the expansion of credit to consumers and governments to sustain spending and consumption, financial speculation and militarism.

Part and parcel of this has been a strategy of 'creative destruction' that has served to benefit an interlocking directorate of powerful oil, agribusiness, armaments and financial interests, among others. For these parties, what matters is the ability to maximise profit by shifting capital around the world, whether on the back of distorted free trade agreements which open the gates for plunder or through coercion and militarism which merely tear them down.

In the so-called 'developed' nations, notably in the US and the UK, along the way millions of jobs have been offshored to cheap labour economies. In effect, societies have become hollowed out. They have increasingly resembled empty boxes whereby the main component lurking inside is a giant mechanical hand of government and media propaganda with the threat of state violence lying in wait. And its only function is to pull the lid shut if anyone ever dares to tear it open and shed light on things. If successful, they will see the immorality, the lies, the hypocrisies.

DementiaJoe repeats 'never opposed fracking' lie at Pennsylvania rally

joe biden

Joe Biden
Democratic nominee Joe Biden lied about his past remarks on fracking during a rally in Pennsylvania on Monday, falsely claiming he never opposed it.

"By the way, no matter how many times Trump tries to lie about it, I will not ban fracking. Never said I would," Biden said at the campaign stop in Pittsburgh on Election Day Eve.

But the former veep has repeatedly stated publicly that his administration would cut subsidies for the fracking and eliminate all new projects that involve fracking, the process of forcing high-pressure water deep underground to extract oil or natural gas, citing climate change concerns.

Yesterday he went one step further and he plagiarized a full speech from Hillary Clinton.

Because this isn't the first time Biden plagiarized something, Trump accused Biden of plagiarism on flimsy grounds when the former VP rolled out his "buy American" economic plan, but he has been vocal about Biden and plagiarism going back to 2008.

In an interview transcript unearthed by Insider, the first thing Trump jumped to when asked to weigh in on Biden being picked as Obama's VP nominee was the Delawarean's history of plagiarism. This 2008 CNN interview sheds light on Trump's instincts when it comes to his 2020 opponent.

Big Tech's big lobbying efforts in Washington try to offset lawsuits, anti-monopoly legislation

big tech lobbying
While the CEOs of Alphabet, Amazon, Apple and Facebook testified in front of Congress on antitrust grounds last July, those "Big Tech" companies were also ramping up their DC lobby spending in the same quarter. Today, the CEOs of Facebook, Google and Twitter testified in front of Congress over another issue: censorship concerns. We're sure they will be back, and sooner rather than later

Every quarter we track DC lobby expenditures for major tech companies from the Center for Responsive Politics because we think the data provides useful insight into the industry's own perceptions of regulatory risk. Here are the latest numbers for Q3 2020:

Amazon
  • Q3 2020: Amazon spent a quarterly record $4.65 million in Q3 2020, up 1.1 pct q/q and 9.7 pct y/y. That topped the company's prior record of $4.60 million in Q2.
  • 2019: The company spent $16.79 million on lobbying last year, the most of any company even outside of tech. That bested its 2018 record of $14.4 million. Amazon spent $13.76 million in the first 3 quarters of 2020, and should easily set a new annual record at its current pace.

America after the election: The new boss will be the same as the old boss

"If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear." — George Orwell
New Boss

The American people remain eager to be persuaded that a new president in the White House can solve the problems that plague us.

Yet no matter who wins this presidential election, you can rest assured that the new boss will be the same as the old boss, and we — the permanent underclass in America — will continue to be forced to march in lockstep with the police state in all matters, public and private.

Indeed, it really doesn't matter what you call them — the Deep State, the 1%, the elite, the controllers, the masterminds, the shadow government, the police state, the surveillance state, the military industrial complex — so long as you understand that no matter which party occupies the White House in 2021, the unelected bureaucracy that actually calls the shots will continue to do so.

In the interest of liberty and truth, here are a few hard truths about life in the American police state that will persist no matter who wins the 2020 presidential election. Indeed, these issues persisted — and in many cases flourished — under both Republican and Democratic administrations in recent years.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Saturday that England could be seeing 4,000 daily deaths by early December
DEATH toll forecasts used by the government as grounds for another nationwide lockdown are out-of-date and could be four times too high, experts have said.

A Downing Street press conference led by Boris Johnson on Saturday included data suggesting that England could be seeing up to 4,000 deaths each day by early December.

The projections were based on research conducted three weeks ago by Cambridge University, the Telegraph reports.

Brexit Party re-branding as anti-lockdown party Reform UK

farage

The party said it would promote 'focused protection'
The Brexit Party has applied to change its name to Reform UK, admitting it is "time to re-direct our energies".

When the Brexit Party held its policy launch ahead of last year's general election, leader Nigel Farage said the organisation would most likely never be in power but could be the driving force behind getting governments to "support the little people".

In a piece written for The Daily Telegraph, the party said it would continue to keep a "close eye" on Brexit but would focus more strongly on the institutions and policies that require change.
