Pakistan blows cover of suspected CIA chief after drone strike

One of Pakistan's major political parties has published the name of what it believes to be the CIA's chief operative in Islamabad after a US drone strike killed five people last week. The group demanded on Wednesday that the spy chief face murder charges.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), led by the country's cricket star Imran Khan, dropped the name of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operative to police in a letter in which the party demanded that the agent face up to the "gross offence" of the drone strike.

The letter was released to the media. However, the name could not be independently verified.

"I would like to nominate the US clandestine agency CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) Station Chief in Islamabad ... and CIA Director John O. Brennan for committing the gross offences of committing murder and waging war against Pakistan," PTI information secretary Shireen Mazarisaid wrote in the letter.

"CIA station chief is not a diplomatic post, therefore he does not enjoy any diplomatic immunity and is within the bounds of domestic laws of Pakistan," the letter added. The complaint was lodged with Tal police station in Hangu district, northwestern Pakistan.

Intelligence agencies in foreign countries make a habit of keeping the identities of their agents and operatives private. If the PTI has successfully named the right person then he may be forced to leave the country.

Pope Francis rips capitalism and trickle-down economics to shreds in new policy statement

Pope Francis
© Agence France-PressePope Francis
In case there was any doubt left, Pope Francis made it clear that he shares little in common with U.S. conservatives.

The pontiff released his Evangelii Gadium, or Joy of the Gospel, attacking capitalism as a form of tyranny and calling on church and political leaders to address the needs of the poor.

"As long as the problems of the poor are not radically resolved by rejecting the absolute autonomy of markets and financial speculation and by attacking the structural causes of inequality, no solution will be found for the world's problems or, for that matter, to any problems," the pope said in the 224-page document that essentially serves as his official platform.

Pope Francis said that inequality was the root of social ills, and prayed for world leaders with more empathy and sense of social justice.

"I beg the Lord to grant us more politicians who are genuinely disturbed by the state of society, the people, the lives of the poor!" Pope Francis wrote. "It is vital that government leaders and financial leaders take heed and broaden their horizons, working to ensure that all citizens have dignified work, education and healthcare."

The pope has already drawn the ire of some conservative Catholics, particularly in the U.S., for his open-minded comments on social issues such as homosexuality, abortion and contraception, and he's also previously criticized capitalism for promoting greed.

Comment: Exclusion, exploitation and disenfranchisement are natural outcomes of a world created by psychopaths, for psychopaths.

UK court rules against divulging Litvinenko materials

A UK court ruled Wednesday that crucial materials relating to the 2006 murder of former Russian security service agent Alexander Litvinenko must remain secret, British media reported.

Coroner Sir Robert Owen, who is leading the inquest into Litvinenko's death, ruled earlier this year that certain materials in the case are not subject to "public interest immunity" (PII) and should be disclosed for a full inquiry.

Foreign Secretary William Hague had sought a judicial review of the decision.

Three High Court senior judges upheld Hague's appeal on the grounds that the coroner "did not really explain the reasoning which drove him to decide that the need for 'a full and proper inquiry' outweighed the real risk of damage to national security," the Guardian reported.

Comment: We have the feeling, that Sir Robert Owen's ruling has to do with what is being discovered in the following investigative essays:

London's Mayor says we should "Thank the Super Rich" - calls them "Tax Heroes" and compares to the "homeless and Irish travelers"

If you thought you had seen it all when it comes to sob stories of the "super rich" following the comparison of the criticisms of banker bonuses to the lynching of black people in the south by AIG's CEO in September, think again.

The latest groveling, inane defense of the "super rich" comes from none other than the gatekeeper of the largest oligarch whorehouse on planet earth. The Mayor of London, Mr. Boris Johnson.

Now I warn you, do not read the following Op-Ed on a full stomach. The vapid, nonsensical, Onion-like prose may very well induce fits of nausea and uncontrolled regurgitation.

This is quite frankly one of the worst things I have ever read in my life. It echoes like a sort of grandiose ass-kissing ritual one would have encountered in a Middle Age court from an aspiring manservant of the realm, desperately trying to rapidly advance a coupe of notches up the social strata of some decadent feudal kingdom.

Simply put, Boris Johnson should be ashamed to show his face in public after writing such disingenuous garbage.

Now for some excerpts from the UK Telegraph:

US Bullying at TPP Negotiations fights for Big Pharma profits, intellectual property rights and restricting the sale of generic drugs

TPP big pharma
Signs outside of TPP negotiations highlighting the bullying tactics and dishonesty of Stan McCoy of the US Trade Representatives Office.
"The world should stand up to the United States. US corporations are not more important than people's lives."

A key dispute in the TPP negotiations is the patents on pharmaceutical drugs and medical procedures. Long patents inflate the profits of the pharmaceutical industry by not allowing less expensive generic drugs on the market. This means that people around the world will not be able to afford critical, often life-saving, drugs and medical procedures. It also means that countries like Japan, Australia and New Zealand that have national health care systems will see the cost of healthcare rise to a breaking point, undermining some of the best health systems in the world.

In order for the US to get its way, Stan McCoy, Assistant US Trade Representative for Intellectual Property and Innovation, is chairing the meetings on intellectual properties and medicines. He has been using bullying tactics to force countries to agree to positions that will harm people in the countries negotiating the TPP, including the US.

"The US has adopted a strategy of exhaustion in its bullying of negotiators on the crucial intellectual property chapter to force countries to trade away health in the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement negotiations in Salt Lake City," according to Professor Jane Kelsey from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, who is monitoring the negotiations. "The US has stepped up its aggression as they move towards their 'end point' of the TPP ministerial meeting in Singapore from 7 to 10 December."

Keiser report: Iran not allowed to trade oil for gold under nuclear deal

In this episode of the Keiser Report, Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert discuss WTF in the UK as RBS slaughters SMEs and then robs their still-warm corpses; while over in China, the People's Bank has thrown a whole bunch of STFU at US Treasuries.

They discuss the implications of both oil being priced in yuan on the Shanghai futures exchange and Iran being prohibited from trading oil for gold under the P5+1 deal.

In the second half, Max interviews Alasdair Macleod of GoldMoney.com about 400 ounce London .995 gold bars being sent to Switzerland from Arab holders and melted down to 1 kilo .9999 bars, thus moving gold from the London standard, to the new better Chinese standard - suggesting we may be entering a post-petrodollar world. In which case, petrodollars could be flowing back into NY in pure dollar form to cause high inflation. And, finally, Max and Alasdair suggest that unless you rig gold markets, your forex and libor-rigging won't work.

Comment: Read John Perkins' book Confessions of an economic hit man, to see how financial terrorism works by the dominant countries. If sanctions doesn't help force a country to open up its resources for exploitation and if it insists on controlling its own money supply and trade in currencies other than the US enforced US dollar reserve currency, then the economic hit men change tactics.

And if all else fails and a country still resist being taken over economically then war is the last solution, just as we have seen in Iraq and Libya in recent years.

François Hollande: Always a zionist

Zionist Hollande
© UnknownValérie Trierweiler, Hollande hosted by Shimon Peres and Benjamin Netanyahu (November 18, 2013).
François Hollande was elected president by cultivating ambiguity. Yet it was easy enough to read his previous statements to see full support for the State of Israel. The change he had announced to his constituents has not occurred. On the contrary there has been continuity with his predecessor. We cannot but note that France has gradually abandoned its policy of independence to stand alongside the United States and the last colonial state.

Some commentators have explained the French position in 5 +1 negotiations with Iran as dictated by Saudi Arabia, or through reference to the Jewishness of Hollande's Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius. This ignores that French policy in the Middle East has profoundly changed in nine years.

It all started in 2004 with the break between Jacques Chirac and Bashar al-Assad. The Syrian President had promised his French counterpart to favour Total's tender. But when the French proposal reached the palace, it was so disadvantageous for the country that the president changed his mind. Furious, Jacques Chirac broke with Syria and presented Resolution 1559 to the Security Council .

'The train leaving for European paradise': New Ukranian mythology

Ukraine and EU integration
© Reuters/Vasily FedosenkoPeople attend a meeting to support EU integration at European square in Kiev, November 25, 2013.
The belief that today or tomorrow Ukrainians might be rewarded with quick access to the gates of a European paradise is one of the core myths promulgated by the ideologists of Ukrainian statehood.

The sudden decision of the Ukrainian government to shelve an association agreement with the EU, taken days before a largely-anticipated deal was due to be made at the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, has sparked angry protests in Kiev and other major Ukrainian cities.

The ex-Soviet republic, located in the very heart of Eastern Europe with a territory larger than France, the land of the well-known writer Nikolay Gogol, famous gorilka, rare beauties and hundreds of miles of rich black soil is currently locked in a fresh outbreak of "identity crisis".

This is a new attempt to do some more mental exercise and more soul-searching to decide once and for all where to head: to the East or to the West.

This is a question that has already split Ukrainians many times in their country's turbulent history - both in the pre and post-independence period.

Comment: So like a draconian overlord, the EU expected Ukraine to submit and give all, yet offering nothing in return to Ukraine. As the article says:
No subsidies for the restructuring of the Ukrainian economy, no visa-free regime, and not even the slightest hint that one day Ukraine might be privileged enough to get the key to its own flat in the EU home.

So, it is not "predatory Russia", which has browbeaten President Yanukovich and forced him to turn down the EU proposal. Self-sufficient European bureaucracy has no one to blame but itself.
The EU just hoped that if Russia is demonised enough then Ukraine would bend over backwards. Of course with a little help from all the western NGO's that operate in Ukraine and who promote submission and enslavement to the western corporations democracy and freedom. The game of the psychopathic elite to the detriment of the common people.

Evils converging: Monsanto, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and global food dominance

tpp monsanto
"Control oil and you control nations," said US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in the 1970s. "Control food and you control the people."

Global food control has nearly been achieved, by reducing seed diversity with GMO (genetically modified) seeds that are distributed by only a few transnational corporations. But this agenda has been implemented at grave cost to our health; and if the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) passes, control over not just our food but our health, our environment and our financial system will be in the hands of transnational corporations.

Profits Before Populations

According to an Acres USA interview of plant pathologist Don Huber, Professor Emeritus at Purdue University, two modified traits account for practically all of the genetically modified crops grown in the world today. One involves insect resistance. The other, more disturbing modification involves insensitivity to glyphosate-based herbicides (plant-killing chemicals). Often known as Roundup after the best-selling Monsanto product of that name, glyphosate poisons everything in its path except plants genetically modified to resist it.

Glyphosate-based herbicides are now the most commonly used herbicides in the world. Glyphosate is an essential partner to the GMOs that are the principal business of the burgeoning biotech industry. Glyphosate is a "broad-spectrum" herbicide that destroys indiscriminately, not by killing unwanted plants directly but by tying up access to critical nutrients.

Because of the insidious way in which it works, it has been sold as a relatively benign replacement for the devastating earlier dioxin-based herbicides. But a barrage of experimental data has now shown glyphosate and the GMO foods incorporating it to pose serious dangers to health. Compounding the risk is the toxicity of "inert" ingredients used to make glyphosate more potent. Researchers have found, for example, that the surfactant POEA can kill human cells, particularly embryonic, placental and umbilical cord cells. But these risks have been conveniently ignored.

The widespread use of GMO foods and glyphosate herbicides helps explain the anomaly that the US spends over twice as much per capita on healthcare as the average developed country, yet it is rated far down the scale of the world's healthiest populations. The World Health Organization has ranked the US LAST out of 17 developed nations for overall health.

Sixty to seventy percent of the foods in US supermarkets are now genetically modified. By contrast, in at least 26 other countries - including Switzerland, Australia, Austria, China, India, France, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Greece, Bulgaria, Poland, Italy, Mexico and Russia - GMOs are totally or partially banned; and significant restrictions on GMOs exist in about sixty other countries.

A ban on GMO and glyphosate use might go far toward improving the health of Americans. But the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a global trade agreement for which the Obama Administration has sought Fast Track status, would block that sort of cause-focused approach to the healthcare crisis.
